I’m so grateful for Small Works. I originally tried the riso open studio in hopes of using their cutting equipment for my own bookbinding. I’ve learned so much from Gerald & Chen since then. The overall vibe is that of support and encouragement in your practice. Recently the shop has started offering bookbinding classes, which I highly recommend. Definitely try the riso and/or letterpress classes too. Open studio times are so valuable as well!

Letterpress, risograph, and bookbinding classes are taught in small cohorts, with an eye toward doing independent work during studio hours.
