I just moved back to NOLA from Baton Rouge, where Smalls is a staple. I was really happy to see we got a Smalls out here, but I was surprised to see the negative reviews about the burgers being bland. I’ve eaten smalls sliders countless times, so I have an idea of how they’re supposed to taste, and I know that they’re always flavorful. However, to my dismay, the previous reviewers had good reason to think the sliders from this location were flavorless. Their sliders didn’t taste like the many I’ve eaten before. I knew something was off in the first bite. Something was missing, or at least lacking. It didn’t fulfill my smalls craving because it didn’t taste like smalls. What was missing, or, in this case, severely lacking? The smalls sauce. There was only one dot of it right under the pickle.
I implore this location to stop skimping on the smalls sauce. The sliders as they are now are not proper representations of what smalls does best. This location has so much potential, but the product here needs to get up to company standards. Like, look at the pictures Smalls has of their sliders and notice that the sauce isn’t a small dot hidden under the pickle. Please, please, please don’t cut food costs with the sauce. The potential profit margin isn’t worth the reputation damage.
I’ve attached pictures of one of the sliders. Real smalls fans know this isn’t right.
