Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings - Seattle - The Infatuation

"This terrific smashburger truck, which bounced around quite a bit over the past year, is now at The Growler Guys in Lake City for its second location, following one at Fremont Brewing. It’s a great day to be an Oklahoma smashburger and craft beer enthusiast." - kayla sager riley, gabe guarente, aimee rizzo

The Best Burgers In Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"The Oklahoma-style smashburgers coming from this mustard-yellow set of wheels possess serious pleasure-to-have-in-class energy. Each perfectly seasoned patty has a snappy crust that drapes over the bun, singed onions, melted cheese that gets gooey without making a total mess. There's also a tangy spice-flecked special sauce and chunky pickle slices to cut through the heft, helping to satisfy any burger itch without leaving your hands full of drips. We recommend going with the classic, but if you enjoy hot peppers, the jalapeño smash has great sweet heat from both pickled and fried jalapeños." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

Smash That Burger Co. - Review - Maple Leaf - Seattle - The Infatuation

"The Oklahoma-style smashburgers coming from this mustard-yellow set of wheels are phenomenal stacks of beef and cheese that we could easily pound daily—if only they were available that often. The Smash That Burger Co. truck is parked at The Growler Guys every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and we'll take what we can get. Each perfectly seasoned patty wears a lacy skirt that drapes beyond the bun, singed onions, gooey cheese, a tangy spice-flecked special sauce, and fat pickle slices to cut through the heft. It satisfies any burger itch without making too much of a mess. We recommend going with the classic, but if you enjoy hot peppers, the jalapeño smash has great sweet heat from both pickled and fried jalapeños. photo credit: Nate Watters photo credit: Nate Watters photo credit: Nate Watters photo credit: Nate Watters The menu has some more bits and bobs, like crinkle fries that are always a little underdone (but hit the spot nonetheless). And there's a grilled cheese stuffed with a patty known as "The Chester," which is apparently a Long Island delicacy that this born-and-raised Long Islander has literally never heard of. These are solid, but make no mistake—the smashburgers are what you're here for. Food Rundown photo credit: Nate Watters Oklahoma Smash It's the platonic ideal of a smashburger: two paper-thin patties with lacy edges that crunch like hash browns, two slices of american cheese, a sweet and tangy special sauce, pickles, and a regular supermarket bun. This is why you're here. photo credit: Nate Watters Ultimate Jalapeño The same idea, only with the addition of both pickled and fried jalapeños. It sounds like overkill in theory, but is a worthwhile upgrade if you're into heat. photo credit: Nate Watters The Chester Imagine a grilled cheese stuffed with a griddled patty, and that's The Chester. Even though the bread is almost always burnt on the outside, it's still a pleasant, gooey sandwich to try if you're a meat-and-cheese purist. But if you just want a burger, forgo this in favor of the smash. photo credit: Nate Watters Saucy Fries The crinkle fries are fine on their own, but we advise ordering them topped with grilled onions and special sauce. Grab a fork and go to town." - Aimee Rizzo

The Best Food Trucks In Seattle

"The Oklahoma-style smashburgers coming from this set of wheels parked five times a week at Rooftop Brewing possess serious pleasure-to-have-in-class energy. Each perfectly seasoned patty has a snappy crust that drapes over the bun, singed onions, melted cheese that gets gooey without making a total mess. There's also a tangy spice-flecked special sauce and chunky pickle slices to cut through the heft. We recommend going with the classic, but if you enjoy hot peppers, the jalapeño smash has great sweet heat. You can easily order using a QR code inside the brewery.
