The cashier was really nice The food was meh Tater tots very undercooked and soft and the short time it was in my bag the amout of grease that soaked through was astounding. My chicken sandwich was just meh. Nothing special. If i came back I may try the burger not those tater tots ..

We wanted to try out Smashburger and the airport location was convenient. But it wasn't, since it took more than 15 minutes. Maybe something in the kitchen? After our order came out many more can't out quickly while we were eating. The burgers were pretty good. Meat parties were hot. Veggies cold. The buns looked toasted but were room temp.

I deserved better. Fries were cold and greasy with a weird dill flavor. Hamburger patty was the size of a breakfast patty, too small for the bun. Service was slow. The coke was the only item that tasted good. I should've just went to the sushi place next door.

I found this location infuriating. As an airport burger joint, sometimes patrons are in a hurry, and burgers seem fast. But nobody working this place was. They're very eager to get new orders in the system, but move slower than imaginable actually preparing the orders. 25 minutes from credit card receipt to food made, one slow staff member doing fries and ferrying orders and stopping whenever somebody wanted to put in a new order. Cooks seem mesmerized by computer screens. I very nearly missed my flight. Did not have the extra 20 seconds for her to sloth out "waaaannnttt keettchuuup?", as I literally snatched the bags from her hands and sprinted off with my food. Should have just added it to the bag by default.

20 minutes to make a burger. Did they forget they were in an airport? They didn’t seem that busy to me. There were 3 people working in the kitchen and one cashier. I only ordered a burger, after 20 minutes waiting, someone in front of me asks if they can hurry it up and they just went and handed him his order, then put out mine and someone else’s, the orders were just sitting there in the kitchen so I don’t know why they were not calling them out??? Maybe some order in front of mine was waiting for fries but my order didn’t have fries, maybe they just couldn’t handle that. The burger itself was meh, the single patty burger is almost $10 with tax and it has about the same amount of meat as a kid’s burger in other places.

Just average experience here. Employees were all business and not friendly at all. Typical airport restaurant hustle. Food was prepared in a decent timeframe. Quality of the food was remarkably average. Not somewhere I would choose to go back to given a handful of options. The chicken on our chicken sandwiches was very thin and very dry. Very disappointing. The smash tots were so greasy there was literally a half inch of oil left in the cup at the bottom of the tots. Caution eating these as they will get oil everywhere.

Had a 2HR layover at SCJ and walked the terminal to see what food spots they have. Coming from Hawaii I wasn't feeling the whole Trader Vic spot. The ramen spot had bad ratings, so Smash Burger it was. One thing I didn't like was there wasn't a combo meal(at least at SCJ). I bought the specialty truffle mushroom burger, garlic tots and drink. The price didn't match the size of the food(again, it's probably the airport). The burger was good though, the tots were okay. In all, if you want to try smash burger, it's okay. The hype isn't that all great. The price wasn't worth it for me. It's the airport so it's all up to you. Safe travels.

Wanted to try Smashburger so I saw this location at the San Jose Airport so thought I would give it a try. Burgers looked great on the display in front of the restaurant and even better on the menu behind the counter. I ordered the mushroom Swiss double meat and another same single. What a huge disappointment. The pictures speak for themselves. Lesson learned read the reviews first before you try a new place .
