Home. I felt welcomed and was family fed. I mean like your great Aunt who thinks you're too skinny family fed. This food had me dancing in my chair with every perfect BBQ bite. I ordered the baked potato with brisket. It was a beautiful mountain of flavor. I had beans on the side like no other beans I've ever had. They were so so good. Red Kool Aid to drink! If you know, you know. Then peach cobbler that I'm pretty sure was made just for me, ok so maybe they do make it for everyone else too. Bottom line: Go get you some Bbq.

This place is legit!! Been twice so far and have tried the Lady Mel, outstanding! The ribs, great smoky flavor, juicy as can be, cooked with cherry and the flavor is out of this world. Best Mac and cheese I I have ever had at any BBQ joint HANDS DOWN! Came for customer appreciation today and got The Nephew which was a special item from the 2025 State Fair. A brisket sandwich with glazed donuts as buns 😩 sooo good. My son got the brisket nachos, which he inhaled. Their banana pudding is to die for, and all the staff is so kind a friendly! Highly recommend this place!!

I've had bbq all over the country. This is hands down the absolute best brisket. And the ribs. AND the mac n cheese. We got food for 20 people at the warehouse and Mr and Mrs Smith had it ready in no time. EVERYONE loved it and we are now struggling to finish working today. If you are in the area you have to stop by here. Amazing.

I just ordered they was decent but the sides I don’t know what was going on with the potato salad It had way too much mustard and not fresh the peach cobbler like it had something of too much in it to might be cinnamon the greens had a season in that didn’t even supposed to be in it either. It just wasn’t good threw it all away I was so excited to try it because the Reviews were really good, but it was a disappointment and I tipped 27.00 waisted

Omg! Where has this been all my life! Finally a FLAVORFUL bbq joint! It's our 3rd time here, I'm just looking forward to the next decade of coming here. Owners are super friendly. Outside seating is shaded and comfy. And bonus: you can small the smoke from the smoker. Finally found a Brisket that smoky, tender, and juicy! It's given up on finding juicy Brisket. Mest mac-n-cheese. My husband said the greens took him back to his childhood. 😆 Can't miss this spot if you're within 5 mile radius.

I am a repeat client and... ask for your free Beer. Honestly... Definitely in Garland... ranks with the best of best. Everything great as im even thinkingabouttheir greens and banana pudding😋.

Decided to see what the square in Garland had for restaurants and stumbled across this gem. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiling faces and a welcoming atmosphere. The menu had plenty of options and I decided to try the Mel’s sandwich while my girlfriend tried the chipped brisket. Our food was made to order and the owner told me the Mac and cheese (although always good) was extra right today. We waited for our food and read some of the local magazine articles they’ve been in getting excited to try what we had ordered. Food was exceptionally made and the flavor was out of this world. One of the juiciest, most flavorful brisket sandwiches either of us had ever had. The Mac and cheese with it was the icing on the cake. We’ll definitely be back and will be telling friends and family about it!

My husband and I ordered here for the 1st time today. We were really craving bbq & google led us to this restaurant. The food was SO GOOD! I had the baby boi with Mac & cheese! 10/10. We will be back.

Its damn hard to find a good BBQ spot near you especially when there are so many around. This spot. This spot right here has to be one of the greatest BBQ spots i've ever been too. The service is top notch. Every time i walk in im greeted and asked how my day is going before placing my order. Sometimes those little interactions really count. Onto the food. While i havent had most of the things on the menu because im a simple dude i love brisket, pulled pork and mac n cheese. It gets me right every time and this place gets it RIGHT every single time. I dont know who came up with the recipe for the mac n cheese but it is so so good. I wish i could purchase it every day. The brisket is thick sliced and very tender. Seasoned to perfection and the onions and pickles added in add a nice little tip to the flavor when you put them together. The pulled pork i had was also season very well. Im pretty sure i need to mix it up and go for some of the other menu items at some point but from what i normally get alone, Mr Smith definitely makes his food with time and care and doesnt do a rush job. I hope more and more people find this place and help him grow so he can get a bigger spot down the line. 10/10 recommend this place.

Terrific BBQ! Downtown Garland has a true barbecue restaurant. Terrance Smith is a pit master and his welcoming personality makes this a destination for que lovers. The brisket was tender and perfectly seasoned. The sides are delicious especially the potato salad. The Lady Mel is a grilled cheese brisket sandwich on Texas toast. Crunchy and tasty. Tried the link sandwich and was impressed with the generous portions. Authentic? When you see collard greens, Mac & cheese,and good ole beans on the menu it's a Yes. Open Friday 11-2 and 4-9pm Open Sundays 11-4 Get there early because the secret is out.

Hospitality and food was fantastic. Great folks. My wife had the brisket sammich and I had ribs and brisket with collard greens. As we were eating, they brought us complimentary macNcheese and extra ribs. We had so much food. We will be back.

So glad I was FINALLY able to catch Smith's Spot open and not Sold Out. I've tried this families food before and it's PHENOMENALLY GOOD. Don't take my word for it. Go try it out for yourselves. This will be my First time trying the B.B. King Potato. It has brisket, scallions, shredded cheese, and drizzled sour cream. I also asked for extra Barbecue sauces because it's just that goooooodddtttt. I'll update/resume my review after we eat.

I was so excited to try Smith's Spot BBQ when my husband shared a post about it on Instagram with me. When we arrived, there was a long line but it moved along fairly quickly. The restaurant isn't very big and there were a lot of families and couples there, the ambience was really nice although the music was a bit too loud for the small space. My husband and I both got sandwiches, I also got the mac and cheese to go with mine and I ordered the Kool-Aid to drink. The brisket had some wonderful smoke to it and the perfect amount of seasoning on the bark, they sprinkle a bit of Lawry's seasoned salt on it before serving which isn't a bad touch either. The macaroni and cheese was probably a three out of five stars because it didn't have much flavor and I was hoping it would have been baked with the golden brown cheese on top, it wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't overly impressive either. Service seemed a little slow considering everything was already cooked and they are basically just assembling the plates as they are ordered but since they have just opened, I'm sure they are still working out the kinks as they go along. The space has a nice patio outside but it was a little chilly and super windy that day so we chose to sit inside. The inside space has a small stage which will be nice whenever they have any sort of live music performances and I'm definitely looking forward to going back!

So, I almost hate to review these guys because I hate waiting in long lines for bbq and it's just a matter of time before he has lines going around the block without any help from me. But here we go. This place has damn good bbq. Period. It will hold its own against Hutchins, Pecan Lodge, and quite frankly might best them because this pit master is not scared to show his skill by breaking tradition a bit and putting his own spin on his Q. So, I have eaten here twice now. The bbq is legit. He serves his brisket sliced thickly, most places cant do this because their brisket is not tender enough. This brisket is tender, juicy, and flavorful enough that it would almost be shameful to use sauce on it. He slices it nearly an inch thick and it still pulls apart perfectly. Seriously, his brisket is on point and Im a bbq snob. The ribs are outstanding and smoked to perfection. He has concocted a very subtle yet very flavorful cherry glaze. The ribs and that glaze are for real. Screw convention, I want more of those cherry glazed ribs! I started craving them again on the drive home. They are for real. Not the usual offering in Texas bbq but man they are good. And I love to see pit masters show off their skill by stepping out of the box every now and then. Simply put. The ribs are on point enough you will never forget them. Mac and cheese is good! But what I really loved was the greens. Man those greens are good. I could make a meal out of those greens alone. I write this having just returned from diner there. And Im already finding myself looking at the fridge where 4 more of those cherry glazed ribs are that I smuggled home. Seriously, they are that good.

My visit was on a Sunday and the food was great! Service was friendly and everyone in the place was friendly. They all seem like they know everyone who comes in. They were welcoming. The atmosphere was good

Ordered The Mel sandwich, 1/4 ribs, Mac and cheese, peach cobbler, and BB King loaded potato for delivery. It's a testament to just how well done everything is when the ribs were still fall off the bone after the drive. I'd say, for my tastes I prefer Hutchins and Terry Black a tiny bit because of their charring and bbq sauce BUT this is really good bbq and for an absolute steal. Even with delivery and tips, it was almost half the price of either. Honestly impressed, even Hutchins and Terry Black can miss the mark on a few things but everything I've had was great. And the peach cobbler was the best of the bunch.

Saw a post on ND about this restaurant and it did not disappoint! I went on a Friday around 4:30pm bc I hoped it would be slow. I picked up 2 brisket and sausage sandwiches and a grilled cheese/brisket, Mac n cheese and collard greens. Then I decided we needed to try the ribs too! The food was amazing! Plus very friendly and fast service! They have inside and outside seating. Will be returning! Be sure to check the hours of operation, since they are not open everyday.

Legit BBQ place. Food was super delicious, one of the best Mac and cheese I had. Brisket and ribs are on point. Was not a fan of the dry seasoning, made it salty, so will probably ask next time to not have it seasoned. We will be back

First time at this place last Sunday and I'm happy to say it was the best sliced Brisket I've ever had. Great SPG rub and amazing color and bite. So good, you'll never need to sauce it. Looking forward to returning 2,3,4 times and see if its consistent. Will definitely try the Grilled Cheese Brisket on Texas Toast sandwich next time. Very interesting sides. I tried the coleslaw which was quite spicy and vinegary. Really good. My son also loved the baked Mac & Cheese. Located a block away from downtown Garland and my new go-to spot.

Garland you are in trouble now. I don't know and don't care if he/they are still in Dallas, BUT he is currently open in Garland just on Sundays for now. This small place stays full, packed to the gills. Most know, get it and go so you can be messy at home. Some stay and rub the goodness in to those in line.

BEST BURNT ENDS IN DFW, period! Have y'all ever had seasoning on brisket?? Me either until I tried that burnt ends sandwich. Can't wait until they're open more often!

Absolutely fantastic bbq. The brisket was tender, juicy and packed full of flavor. Definitely gives some really good spots a run for the money. I'll definitely be going back they should be packed with customers!!!!!

Excellent customer service. Chef Smith gave us some samples to try and they were amazing. Food was amazing and the vibes are great.

My husband and I came here a few months ago and we absolutely loved it. We were thrilled to see another bbq joint pop up in downtown Garland. We're overdue for another visit! The moist brisket was truly perfect -- the cut I got was juicy but not too fatty. The mac n cheese is REAL mac n cheese. Cheesy, saucey but thick, delicious -- everything you expect in a side with your bbq. I really loved the flavor and smokiness of the green beans but I felt like it didn't have enough salt but it was still really tasty. Compared to other bbq joints in the Dallas area, the quality and quantity for the price point is really affordable! My one small gripe is that the music was a little too loud and it kept getting interrupted with text messages. Possibly hooked up to a phone? Other than that, the food was delicious, the staff were super friendly, what more could you want? Give this place a try!

BEST BRISKET IN NORTH TEXAS!!!!! Without a doubt. You have to try this place if you love Barbecue. Staff is great, Food is great. Nothing left to say except, see for yourself. And enjoy!

Amazing food! The lady Mel was so good! Love the grill cheese and brisket combination!!!! Everyone in garland should come check them out! Coleslaw was a night touch after all the meat eating, gives it a nice refreshing cold crunch!

Food, service, everything 10/10 amazing. The best bbq I've ever had, and I've had a lot. The Mac and cheese makes you wanna slap yo mama. The ribs....i didn't think ribs could taste so damn good. Smith spot is hands down the best - and worth every penny (which, imo everything couldn't have been priced better). This was our first time eating here, and we will easily be regulars now. SO DAMN GOOD.

Love the flavor of the brisket. 10/10 on the brisket, brisket grilled cheese, and loaded potato. Prolly wouldn't reorder the sides but the entrees will keep me coming back!

Omg. Everyone needs to try this place. Best ribs and brisket. Bark on brisket so crispy and delicious. Ribs are made with cherries in the glaze and it's amazing. Love crispy cheese on top of Mac and cheese. I don't think I need to mention how good beens are. Small local business run by family. Great friendly service. We all need to support small business especially when they put so much heart and love into it.

I wanted to give 5 stars, but I feel we should be honest with establishments that we want to thrive. I went to Smith Spot BBQ in Garland after church on Cinco de Mayo. They weren't that busy at the time. They immediately greeted me upon entering. The owner's mom worked the register and introduced herself. Sweet lady. The place is clean both inside and out. I ordered the Lil Mel, potato salad, baked beans, and mac & cheese. These people were so kind. They even offered a free margarita while I waited. The Lil Mel and baked beans were delicious! The potato salad and mac & cheese were overly seasoned. I mean, I love seasoned food, but I want to taste the dish more than I taste the seasoning. The mac had too much seasoning salt. The potatoe salad had too much mustard and seasoning salt. Don't get me wrong, I will still be back. I just wanted this to be known by the owner. On top of that, they gave out a bag of chips with each order. Please check this place out for yourself!
