Here it is, unique brewery visit #150. No, not I have been to a brewery 150 times but I have been to 150 different breweries! And I'm going to visit them all, because...goals.
Smog City Brewing, Glendora chapter, is in a cool little food court area which apparently used to be a Wonder Bread bakery. Wonder Bread is the best bread to use for a Turkey sandwich post-Thanksgiving dinner by the way. "These are the facts of the case and they are undisputed." (Movie reference. Free beer to the first person to name the movie and of course coordinate meeting at a brewery or something so I can pay up.)
SCB is not doing flights unfortunately, or maybe fortunately because they had a lot of beers on tap and it might have killed me. I'm not as good as I once was, but I am as good once as I ever was...regardless of what my wife says.
Anyway, SMC was complying with all of the ridiculous mandates including putting a freaking plastic lid on my beer before I walked to my table. So much for that whole plastic bag thing California...
I started out with the Saber Toothed Squirrel, a hoppy amber ale. I had tried this before but knew I liked it. Nice amber ale all around. I moved on to the Bourbon Barrel O.E., an aged barley wine and this was the highlight of my night. (Don't tell my wife!) I wrapped the evening up with a Schwarzbier that was really good.
The location here has multiple food options. Chicken sandwiches, sushi, tacos, hot dogs and hamburgers, etc. you have a lot of options and everything we tried was great. Having los of food options is great, and SCB has a host of beers on tap which makes sure everyone can find something they enjoy. Well, maybe except those weird seltzer people.
SMC had some really good beers. I would really like to make it to the Torrance location one of these days.
If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you!
