Smog City Brewing Co. at SteelCraft

Hands down, Smog City is the best beer and customer service in Bixby. A great chill spot to hang out. All their beer tenders are amazing, knowledgeable, and friendly. They take care of their customers, the other vendors, and treat everyone like their family. They have a large rotating selection of beer, with year round favs and seasonals.

I didn't have any expectations going here, but they were all quickly exceeded! I loved how there were several different stands to get food from, including a dedicated bar area (I hate it when you have to order food at the bar). The food was all really fairly priced and so good! It paired well with the beer flight my partner and I got. There are many unique beers to have, and the bartender who served us was super cool and friendly. I definitely want to come back again! It was a vibe!

Great selection of beers! I tend to like sour beers and they have a large range of choices for any kind of beer you like. Definitely recommend stopping for a beer! Part of the Steelcraft area. Food/sitting spots around the area.

Lots of IPA selections on the menu here. Lot of different sours as well. Not my preference, but I did find a nice Pilsner.

Decided to stop by and take in a robust 13.4% imperial stout in the dead of Summer. Smog City had just the concocted stout remedy. Aged in about a year, the bourbon barrel stout has an impressive sweet nose, and a delightful whiskey stomach effect.

It's not often that I write reviews for breweries, but every now and then one stands out. Smog City was the most pleasant surprise of our trip. We started with a flight and loved every single beer. The uniqueness of flavors is special in today's day and age of craft beer while everyone is trying different combinations that don't always hit. Smog City definitely got it right from the sours to the stouts. But no matter how good the beer is, the bartender can make or break the experience. So shout out to Paul for being so awesome. He was knowledgeable about the beer, easy to talk to, and was all around a good dude. We definitely will be coming back here on our next trip.

Very friendly staff! They were great with the recommendations and keeping up conversation. For someone who likes fruity/tart beers I am a huge fan of the Snuggle Bug. Will definitely be going back.

They have taster for $3 and pint is $7. I tried the snuggle bug that's boysenberry and raspberry flavor. This flavor is pretty good. Has a nice sweet sour taste to it and light. The vibe here is super nice. I love the Christmas door. They have a great outdoor patio seating with heaters! It's a pretty chill place to hangout even during the winter. Quick and friendly service too. They have own parking lot or street parking. I used to come to Steelcraft quite often.

Love the beer here, been coming here over the last few weeks, recommend the coffee Porter. Staff is great very knowledgeable Just watch out for the wild children running around on the weekends. Suggest getting beer to go if you don't want to be involved in an impromptu children playground. -1 star for the playground

At the center of the food hall trend is a need for diners to get craft, non-mass produced beer with their meals. In the case of SteelCraft food mini court, this is the Smog City Brewing bar, serving Smog City beer from Torrance They serve their beers (and maybe a couple of guest drafts), and encourage flights by listing the prices from a 4 oz to a full pull. You can also pick up a 4 pack to-go. When we came, they had 20 drafts available. We kept it original and chose the suggested 4 classics (LIttle bo pils, smog city IPA, sabre-tooted squirrel, coffee porter...all $2) and an extra (Kumquat Saison for $3). So the five beer flight was $11, very reasonable. All the beers were fine, and just reconfirmed the styles of beer: that I can drink all day (pilsner), ones to keep avoiding (IPA), good with a meal (brown), and being a meal by itself (porter). Surprisingly, I didn't care for the saison...it was way too sweet for me. We are blessed with an abundance of really good micro brewers here in SoCal, and will continue to explore ones we haven't been to before.

Love this brewery, located in the LB Steelcraft. I get over here a couple times out of the year and have never been disappointed with the selection or the quality. Always greeted by happy friendly staff. Today, my Beer-ista told me with a big smile, it's a great day if you're still breathing! Amen to that. I grabbed a Mexican lager w/ Lime to go with my fish burrito. Great vibes here, nice variety of people-families, couples, students, etc. Stop by for the great selection of brews and grab food from one of the restaurants here.

I think I just found my new favorite watering hole in Long Beach. The ambiance and service were amazing. Our bartender, Deena, was so sweet! We had family from out of town and she made them feel right at home. We tried the Amarillo Gorilla and the Winter Ale due to her recommendation, and we all loved them so much, we took a four can pack home with us to enjoy on Thanksgiving. We will be back!

This is the third location that we have visited and the vibe is really good in the Steel Craft area. We had some really tasty beers: TranquiliTea Belgian wit w/tangerine and peach black tea (great) Paddy O' Furniture dry dark mild on nitro (excellent) Citrus Blonde (excellent)

Located in the popular SteelCraft food establishment, a quiet and cloudy Sunday afternoon brought me to Smog City for a refreshing beer to complement the day's foodie activities. Who knew beer would compliment pizza, birria tacos and sweet decadent waffles

Popped in one day to have some drinks with a friend. We got the beer flights. They were cool. I don't remember the pricing for them. But it must've been ok because I know we got multiple flights. The customer service was cool. The ambiance was cool. I've only been once and it was years ago and I haven't went back. So I will say overall this place is OK.

I want to thank Smog City for participating in Bixby Knolls first Santacon event last weekend! I live in DTLB so it gave me an opportunity to try their beer and see the other places at SteelCraft! Kudos for being community members!

First off, I love smog city. One of my top 5 breweries in the South Bay. I've been to all their locations. Every location has their staple handles along with some additional rotating drafts. This location is no exception. Got their favorites that put them on the map and then some additional brews. I used to get tasters but I don't mess with those anymore. When you find a brewery with an outstanding brewmaster, you just trust them. Only a handful of breweries that I'll straight out get full pours of brews that I haven't tried but this is one of them. Just good stuff. Now the location. Inside the SteelCraft container park in Bixby knolls area. Every eatery here is fantastic and pairs well with a good craft beer. So this spot fits right in. Last time we visited was on a Sunday and they had a DJ slangin some nice grooves which really set the mood. Really love this little area. Although I live closer to the other smog city taprooms, I'll make any excuse to come out here to hang out for a bit. Cheers!

I visited this brewery a few days ago alone with my toddler. The bartender was talking with a friend when I walked over, and there was no line. So I waited at the register. The bartender looked me over and continued to talk with her friend. I waited over 2 minutes for her to finish her story and finally walk over to me. When asked if I wanted to close out or keep open, I responded "close out" the bartender then muttered something under her breath. The bartender didn't even look at me throughout the transaction and when I thanked her, she stood silent and walked back to her friend. The bartender in question was a caucasian women in her 30's with color in her hair. I am a younger Hispanic women. Giving these details for context.

Been here a bunch of times. It's close to work. And from time to time, I like to have an adult beverage. Or ten. Nothing I don't like about this outpost brewery. Or tasting spot? Not sure what to call it. Whatever the case, I think the spot is great. It's in Steelcraft in Long Beach, on Long Beach. Street parking. Or there's a lot across the street and down a ways. Free though. Check the signs for street parking. If you're lucky, you might get a spot in the small Steelcraft lot. There's residential streets if you don't mind walking. Check those signs too though. Walk up. Order. And either keep the tab open or close it off and find a seat. Steelcraft is an outdoor, semi-covered food hall; so it's shared with other places. No dedicated seating unless you're sitting at their bar. Five or six people I think might be max at the bar though. Beertenders have all been awesome. I don't remember their names. Wish I did. Damn I'm getting old. They know their beers. They're friendly. And they're helpful and patient when I'm standing there trying to figure out which pour to try. I'm working my way down their full menu. If you like beer in a chill spot where there's food available, swing by and I'll see ya there!

The hibiscus cider is my favorite! There are four stools right at the bar under an awning to shield you from the sun or bit of wind. There's plenty of additional seating all around.

Beer, the cause of and solution to all of life's problems. Located within Steelcraft Long Beach, Smog City Bixby Knolls specializes in one product, refreshments for your soul. The service was pleasant as I wasn't sure what to order. So I asked if I could sample a few drinks. I ended up ordering a pint of their in-house glass, MANGO PANGO. The cost was around $7.50. I would say it was 40% sweet and 60% tarty with a hint of tropical mango. They had many other Smog City selections. However, one beer was good enough for me. Lastly, the best days to drink beer are the days that end in "y"--Salut to you, my friend.

Stopped by here on a whim. The beers are decent with a good selection. Only down fall is under staff for the crowds they get during peek hours and wait time can be 15 to 20 minutes. Will go back but not if it's crowded.

Such an amazing place! "I'm Your Huckleberry Whoosh!" was Good and Refreshing! I would definitely buy this if sold in stores! Jimmy was so cool! Definitely coming back!

I stumbled upon this gem while ordering a burger. While waiting, I ordered a cider and a seltzer. Both were absolutely delicious!!!! I will definitely come back to try some of their other drinks while eating from one of the many eateries in this space.

Ordered the Fancy Chocolate thinking it'd be rich, but the man helping us was so kind as to let us sample, explain that it's a sour, and advise me that if I held it to warm it, I'd get more chocolate undertones! The service here is always incredible, answer my questions kindly, and all of the brews I've had here have been delicious. The parking in the lot is horrible and very uncomfortable, so keep an eye out for street parking too! There is always somewhere to sit, even though this Steelcraft location is quite small. The line for this specific vendor comes and goes in waves. Would definitely come back!

Best beer, best service, best ambiance with these rad people. Also Jimmy is the best because he just is.

Admittedly, I'm not a huge beer fan. Other than sour ales or the occasional bottled Corona (with salted lime) and Don Julio shot, I don't drink beer. I happened to be at SteelCraft for an Yelp elite event. So, after ordering my pizza, I went to Smog City to about a sour. The didn't have that but her recommended a tastier of something I'd NEVER order. I hate chocolate but it was a chocolate beer It was amazing and the perfect pairing to my pizza a few steps away.

Stopped by this weekend and as always, super nice guys pouring beer. When I want to try something new, they are always prepared and knowledgeable about their brews. I like the Sabre-Toothed Squirrel and the Amarilla Gorilla!

First thing to note is that this location isn't an actual brewing facility for Smog City brewery. The best way I can describe this location at Steel Craft is its a beer bar in a food court. From the looks of the tap list I'm assuming they have the full menu of beer that the actual brewery has (I've yet to visit the actual smog city brewery). Granted this wasn't the actual brewery visit I was hoping for, having Smog City beer in Steel Craft is a great combo. There are a lot of food options here so unlike an actual brewery where you can order take out or eat at whatever food truck is visiting that day you can pick from a few different places on location. Smog City has a large list of some really good beers, so just about anyone can find something on the menu they'll like. Steel Craft is an outdoor place with some covered seating areas with a street view patio area, and the location is pet friendly. This Smog City location is also with a few miles from a couple breweries, and while it's not the big building brewery that the other locations are (Ambitious Ale, and Liberation Brew Co) the one plus they have is plenty of food options.

First time at SteelCraft, and first time having Smog City beer. The ambiance was relaxed and enjoyable, the bartender had some fun tune's playing while I sat at the bar. Such an awesome selection of beer to choose from! They have really anything you could imagine. The young lady behind the bar, Dina I believe was her name, was so sweet! She answered all of my questions and was so rad! Ill will be making a trip to Torrance to come check out where they brew everything, I think I found my new favorite spot to enjoy beer!

The experience I get when I go to the Smog City at SteelCraft is always phenomenal. The staff is always knowledgeable with every selection of beer, cider or selzter. Dina one of the amazing bartender is definitely well rounded on informing us about the brews they have. She makes the experience, something I want to come back to!

I frequent both Smog City Steelcraft and their South Bay location. What they have in common is first and foremost...DELICIOUS BEER!! Smog City is absolutely killing it in the craft beer scene, producing inspired, balanced, incredible works of carbonated art. But there's something even more special about Smog City...every person who works there feels immediately like family. They work with passion, knowledge, and great care for their product, their customers, and their community. I think you can tell, I feel Smog City is amping Los Angeles' great breweries. And that's saying something, because we have a great brewing community here!! The Steelcraft has one more great thing going for it, however...I can walk 10ft and have a bowl of delicious ramen at Tajima. Or if I get really ambitious, I can walk another 20ft and get pizza. It's always fun to be here, and I get to enjoy world-class beer in an incredible location among friends. What's not to love!!

First time being here!!! I found this location on Yelp. I had to come and check it out wit my love. He's a big fan of different beers. He like's IPA'S , so it was perfect. I really enjoyed the hibiscus cider first I had it in a 4 oz and then a full poor just to play it safe the bartender was really friendly and she suggested which drink I would like since I'm into fruity beers or anything similar and my boyfriend's into IPA'S it was an incredible atmosphere everybody was really friendly including the guy that was picking up the trash and empty cups he was also extremely friendly I would definitely come back to this place

I realized I really needed to update my review of Smog City, because it still said I "don't normally like beer", which I used to think was true, but it turns out I'm just picky about what kind of beer I like (mostly: the expensive kind!) - now I'm a huge craft beer nerd, and Smog City was actually the catalyst for that change! Specifically, their Infinite Wishes bba stout, which was the first beer I ever liked, and having had a lot of really good bba stouts over the past year, is still one of my favorites. But I've now expanded into loving various of their other big dark beers, and a number of their various sour experiments, too. Everyone's always super friendly whenever I pop in, which is becoming more and more often (for good and bad, they're constantly switching up what beers they have on tap, which means I have to pop in all the time to check out what's new!), they're always happy to give out tastes of the new stuff, and their prices are totally reasonable. Really happy to have such a good brewery locally.

Not a bad place, but might be awkward for people over 30. Their beer is very good, but they didn't have any brown ale. But, the beer that I had was very good and I know they don't brew for me. So, no big deal. A predominantly young crowd hangs out there, which is also no big deal. I never had an issue with anyone. Minus one star for: They don't take cash (USD Federal Reserve Notes that state, "Good for all debts, public and private") . Well, OK, I was told they do, but it had to be exact cash. They could not provide change. However, their beer price does not include sales tax, so the beer price for a $7 beer comes to some weird figure like $7.72. So, if you are going to pay as you go, have a lot of pennies, dimes and nickels. I was hoping to just run a tab and pay at the end with cash, leaving a nice tip with whatever was left, but they insist on keeping a credit card for collateral. That is no big deal, since I know I look like a homeless derelict, and I do have a credit card. So, no strikes for that. Minus another star because: When I was leaving, I really needed to use the bathroom, but it was locked. I waited, and waited, thinking someone was using it. I knocked. Nobody answered. I noticed some console on the door handle. I thought it might be a pay toilet, but there was no place to put coins in to gain entry. I had to hold it until I got home. I plan to be back, with a bag of change and wearing Depends Under Garments.

My husband and I met a few of his coworkers on a Saturday night to check it out the beer. It's a pretty chill area and DJ was killing it. I'm not sure if they have a DJ only on Saturday's. The beer was reasonably priced and they had a nice blonde beer. There are a couple of foods spots to try there. I'd recommend the taco spot. They had a pizza place that we want to try next time. Best part it's all outside with heaters. I'm a little paranoid about eating inside anywhere for the time being.

This is pretty much the drink of choice whenever we go to Steelcraft. I like the dark, chocolatey beers and the fiance likes the IPAs. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, and they let you have samples of the alcohol if they can. They also sell cans to go, which is great if there's something you like and want to imbibe later on.

Writing this review because I gotta sober up, and what better way to pass the time than by singing the praises of my captor? Smog City Brewing is a Torrance-based brewery, but I visited their "taproom" at the Steelcraft facility in Long Beach because their hours there are better (not to mention that there's food just steps away). As with all of the Statecraft businesses, the storefront is actually a repurposed shipping container, so if you manage to find parking (easy on weekday off-peak periods, tougher on weekends), you just have to enter the compact space and walk around until you locate them. The employees were somewhat willing to answer questions with words, but more forthcoming with samples of beers to help me distinguish between different beers described as farmhouse ales. Farmhouse Rocks was a "20% sour" and was delicious off the bat, but I didn't order it because there were so many other enticing options. To compose a flight, you grab a laminated piece of paper and a marker, then write what you want. You can choose up to five 4 oz. pours, priced individually depending on the beer, and they'll load up the flight rack for you to take to nearby communal seating (either benches or low counters with stools). Awkward Teenager ($2) hoppy tropical farmhouse ale. Hoppier than the subsequent flight members, but not in the IPA realm or anything. Easy drinker. Crushed it without waiting to taste it again later. Cuddlebug ($3): sour with peach and apricot. One of the most intensely sour beers which I've had. It felt a little like super-sour tropical, but I can see the peach and aprciot thing. If you xan handle sour stuff, try this. Benny and the Bretts Vol. 2 ($4): sour red rye aged in Sangiovese Foudre. It does remind me so much of wine, and there is a unique flavor which I've not tasted before in craft beer that must be from the Brettanomyces species of yeast, a relatively new growing trend in craft beers. I enjoyed this too. Coffee Porter ($2): just like it says on the label. It's the most coffee-like beer which I've tried, both in smell and taste. Maybe some of my taste receptors had been overpowered by this point, but I didn't really recognize any beer qualities to it. Pretty amazing. Infinite Wishes ($4): bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout. This style is one of my favorites, and this take doesn't do it wrong. Maybe more chocolate-forward than others, but bourbon smell and taste are at the forefront. Delicious. With all of these overwhelmingly positive tastes, I have to give Smog City the highest rating on Yelp. Check them out on a weekday if you're a "craft beer tourist" and linger for the nearby food options.

Though I haven't acquired the taste yet for beer, they are patient with me and understand if I don't like something. They're fun and play great music and take requests too! I love my local "watering hole"

My first time going to smog city brewing! It was great a got a flight. I really enjoy sours so I enjoyed their sour called cuddlebug! It was delicious. I went to the location located in steel craft. So I grabbed myself some waffles and chicken from a different spot and got beer here. It was a perfect combo! Great spot for a Sunday afternoon. They have a parking lot. They are kid and dog friendly. Excellent beer! If you are in the area and want to try some yummy beer this is a great spot!

I like Smog City Brewing in this locale. They have a full selection of beers, and include tasters. Generally, I go with the stouts and porters from here. The BBA (bourbon barrel aged) stuff is usually very good and strong. I steer towards the Buzzworthy and the Infinite Wishes myself. Nice after a long day. The TVs and the other vendors with food make it a great pitstop. Recommended.

What an epic little joint!!! Multiple selections of expertly crafted microbrews that will be sure to satisfy. Want a taste, (i.e., small pour)? They got it. Want a larger pour, (i.e., 16 ouncer)? They gotcha covered. Is it a growler that wets your whistle? They'll hook you up there too. I started with the Saber-Toothed Squirrel, an Amber Ale that did not disappoint. Full flavored and just slightly hoppy, this Amber is a delicious choice. I then moved on to the Grape Ape IPA which was much lighter than one might expect to see in an IPA, especially a craft brew. But... more than delicious in and of itself. Sampled one that my son-in-law purchased that was also really good but I didn't catch the name... The girls behind the counter were friendly and efficient. The lines, while maybe somewhat intimidating looking, moved fast and furiously. Next visit I will do the right thing and just get myself a flight.

Love this spot. Great outdoor seating. Great beer selection. I messed up and ordered a sour and was super bummed but KB let me trade it in for a BOMB Coffee Porter. Absolutely delicious. We're not from Long Beach, but next time we're down here, we'll definitely visit KB and the gang again.

Stumbled here after my son's soccer practice. Live DJ lacing down some mellow vibes with heaters abound. Enjoyed the 2 dark brews on tap. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff and I left with a 4-pack of good tasting stout! Lots of good food too. A MUST while in the LBC.

Smog City offers a lot of interesting flavor combinations that you'll be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. I wish this were local so that I had the opportunity to try them all! Great price. Friendly service. Awesome beer!

A brewery located at the container district of SteelCraft. Service is hit or miss. We asked if we are allowed tasters, the server said yet. We asked if we could try their special cider, and the servers response was "it's a cider" (more or less on the rude side). Okay. Got it. We won't ask for more samplers. The beers are decent however it's pretty overpriced. $3 - $4 for a 4 oz taster? Talk about pricey.

Great atmosphere. Solid beers. Todd's service was amazing. He was very knowledgeable in the beers and friendly. With COVID, you pay $7 on the "food tab" and that's accounted for with the tab at Smog City. Then you have the option of getting whatever foods are here. It's waffle love, desano pizza, or hangry belly right now. We will definitely be back!

I love this little walk up and order Smog City location in LBC! My boyfriend and I come here all the time to enjoy some flights while we sit outside at the tables they have set up with our dogs :) It's a splendid outing for us and I love their beers here! The only bummer about this place is whenever I find something I'm in love with they cycle it out. I suppose this keeps me coming back to find a new love though too - so good strategy on their part ;) I really do love their selections - even when they cycle out something I fall in love with. They have a great array of flavors and types of beer and the employees are always very friendly and knowledgable about the products! I'm always really intrigued by their sours - they always have some very unique ones! We always have a great time here and will continue to always come back! I've been out of the beer game for 9 months now because of this baby i'm growing but I can't wait to get this thing out and head back to Smog City (stroller now included lol). My taste buds are dying with anticipation!
