Smoke At Hampton Manor

I had a delightful dining experience at Smoke. The food was excellent, with a special mention for the venison dish—the reduced gravy was superb. The scallops were quite punchy, although the Thai spice did dominate the other flavours. Nonetheless, the black pudding bites were a pleasant surprise for me, as someone who generally avoids black pudding! Considering the chilly weather, it would have been nice to have had more warming dishes to complement the winter season, especially as the restaurant itself was a bit on the cool side. Despite these minor points, the overall flavours were very good. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with attentive service and a great playlist subtly enhancing the ambience. I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to add a song to the playlist—a lovely touch that made the evening even more special. The recommended wine pairings were spot on and truly enhanced the dining experience. While I’m giving the food a 4/5, it was indeed very good. However, at this price point, I believe every dish needs to be perfectly balanced in flavour to warrant a 5/5 rating. Looking forward to my next visit!

Cute catch up with friends. Went for dinner. Very petite restaurant as it converts into a bakery/cafe during the day. Bustling atmosphere, not much snapper between the table etc. Table had the 5 course tasting menu £115, good value. Unfortunately they requested to push our table back an hour which was fine because we were staying at the hotel and as a nice gesture they offered an organic rosè, which wasn’t really that nice. We also shared a bottle of red. Food was great, service was also good.

Hidden away in the grounds of Hampton Manor, wonder thru the gap in the hedge you'll find smoke, a rustic, relaxed restaurant. From walking in the staff where friendly and polite, we decide to go for the taster menu, which we would highly recommend, the food was fabulous, plenty of flavours and well presented, the barbecued scallops are a standout dish. we decided not to pair wine so each of choosing drinks from the ample menu, service was great throughout the evening, great night Would certainly visit again.

Incredible dining experience, every detail carefully thought out. Dining room is beautiful, service attentive, friendly and not over bearing. Each course was superb, Chef coming out to tell us about each course was wonderful. Wines paired with the meal were perfect. This is a must visit place. Very envious that you have this wonderful restaurant on your doorstep! BTW.....the Negroni! Absolute perfection.

Booked a table on a Friday night for a celebration and was shown to a very large table slightly off on its own which was perfect. We had the £80 set three course menu which was lovely. We started off with grazing food which we did not expect but was all very tasty and a perfect start to the rest of the food to come. We had sparkling South African wine which was a perfect bubble start to the evening. The further courses arrived which everyone loved all washed down with further bottles of both white and red wine which we was helped to choose by the staff who were excellent. This is a lovely restaurant located in the grounds of the main house and although it's on the more expensive end of the scale was perfect for a special celebration evening.

We came here for an anniversary dinner and we had a lovely time, thank you! The food is superb and staff were brilliant. The veggie menu was great and my partner loved his pork main. If I could make one suggestion, the wine list seems to be mostly 'easy to drink' wines, it could do with some more advanced, adventurous options. Especially reds, I wish there was a proper smoky red to go with the beef and pork. It's a beautiful place, so jealous of the walled vegetable garden, ! Would come back for sure

Stuart Deeley and the team delivered an absolutely stunning tasting experience. The tasting menu was truly delightful, and the service was exceptional throughout the course.

I took my fiance here yesterday for her birthday and we opted for the chefs table experience with wine pairing to go with every dish. All I can say was everything was perfection from the food to the service right the way to the atmosphere. Very welcoming and the knowledge both the chefs and the somilier had was amazing!!! Could not shout the praises high enough. Thank you for making our evening special and helping me celebrate my fiancés birthday!
