I come and eat at Smoked BBQ every time I visit Key West. I fish out of the City Marina and this place is a must. Try the full rack of ribs with the homemade potato salad and coleslaw - it’s the cherry on top of a day offshore. - Big thanks to the Smoked BBQ team for being conveniently located and reliably delicious!

This restaurant is a hidden gem in key West I don't understand why they don't have more business from the tourists. But I think it's one of the best BBQ spots Ive had in a long time and probably some of the best smoked ribs and chicken I've EVER had. Would highly recommend this to anyone that wants top tier BBQ

Three meats. Three sides. Five stars! We picked our combo tray clean in short order (burnt ends, pulled pork, sausage, cuke salad, baked beans, above-average fries, and a slice of bread). This no-frills place on the water adds a little somethin' somethin' to the simple pleasure of eating good food. Would most certainly eat there again and recommend it to others. ~

I’m a huge BBQ fan. We have some outstanding barbecue back home but Smoked BBQ on the water has been my top places to eat barbecue. I usually visit this place a few times when I visit Key West. The food is perfectly smoked with amazing dry rubs. The BBQ sauces are made in house and they do not disappoint. I think I’ve tried all of his sides and they are all amazingly prepared. The cheesy corn and potato salad are uniquely amazing. The owner is a great person. Comes out and visits with you. Very friendly. You can tell he loves to do this because he happily explains his process. 10/10. I recommend this place to everyone.

They deserve 20 five stars! The service- top notch! The food- insanely fantastic! The ambience- Super cool, on the water! As a Texas native, we've been searching for good BBQ for the last 2 years! Who would've thought we'd find it in Key West for our 1st time?! Check them out...you will NOT be disappointed!!

Great place! I love that is place is on the water. The food was excellent and good portion sizes. All their homemade bbq sauces were amazing! We will definitely be going again when we visit.

I would give this place 5 stars but the portions were a little small! The food was delicious and the staff was absolutely fantastic! Exactly what you would expect in a small town bbq place but we were in Key West! I got the bacon hush puppies which were freakin awesome, especially with that sauce they make. But I also got the burnt ends, mac and cheese and collard greens. It was TO DIE FOR! The greens were so buttery and delicious with a nice kick. The Mac was creamy, cheesy and delicious. THE BURNT ENDS THOUGH.. they were melt in your mouth, flavorful and had a great spice. My husband got the sliced brisket, Mac and cheese and cornbread. The brisket was tender, delicious and juicy. The fat was rendered perfect! The cornbread was soft and still warm. It was all so damn good! We just wish there was more of it! For the price, which is to be expected in an island, we were expecting a little more. Not anything crazy but just a little more. For $70 we should not have left there still hungry.

What a treasure on the island of Key West!! The smoked brisket sandwich literally melted in your mouth and the rack of ribs was incredible!! Chief was so friendly and welcomed us so kindly!! Would recommend to anyone who enjoys delicious BBQ to come visit this gem!! Loved the floating restaurant…was extra special!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!

Food was absolutely wonderful!! Big portions, and flavor was very tasty. This is probably the best hidden gem of Key West, although most of the locals probably know about it!! It is actually on the water, as it is comprised of three floating pontoons. The view of the marina is beautiful, and so peaceful. The waitress was very friendly and prompt. Service was good. This is definitely going to go on my favorites list when I am here. Oh, and the orange cream cake was terrific!! Gotta try it!!

Great down home bbq. All of their bbq sauces are great. Make your order and go grab a seat and Dave will bring it out when it's ready. Sitting on a boat looking out at the harbor eating bbq is the best.

From the food to the atmosphere everything was absolutely amazing. If you're looking for a fantastic barbecue spot in Keywest Florida, definitely check this place out. The service was excellent definitely a 9.5 out of 10

I just got off my plane and was starving. I found this super cool house boat restaurant thing that made me reconsider everything. Their smoke burnt ends. Decisions. Mac and cheese. Delicious. Collard greens. Seasoned with just the perfect pop of heat. I also tried each of their bbqs sauces, my top two were the Texas and Kansas City BBQ. I also appreciate that they know how to make some authentic sweet tea. I came in, not knowing how to order, and one of the sweet gentlemen working explained to me the whole process. You do have to park in the marina parking lot in order to get to there. 10/10. I'm only here for 2 weeks and I'm definitely coming back for more!

Service is always friendly. Burrito is my favorite. Fries and beans also quite yummy. Enjoyed the KC and Jalapeño BBQ sauces. I just wish they had unsweetened iced tea.

Fast service. Large portions. Delicious food. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Added bonus that it's on the water, very cool spot.

Staff was very helpful. Beans were excellent. Food was fresh and well seasoned. Pulled pork was delicious, juicy, tender, and flavorful. Brisquet was great.

We are so glad we found this place & stopped for a late lunch. We ordered the smoked Rueben sandwich, half rack of ribs and burnt ends. Everything was delicious and a good portion. My boyfriend is a bbq connoisseur, and he commented that the rub and bark were excellent. For sides we had the cucumber salad, which was very refreshing, the Mac & cheese and collard greens. Their sauces are tasty as well. I especially enjoyed the blackberry jalapeño sauce. The restaurant is located on the marina in a boat. We are on the roof, under a cute tiki roof. We would definitely come back!

This place is a hidden gem! The food was delicious and the scenery was awesome. Our kids enjoyed feeding leftovers to the fishes! Awesome customer service! Our waiter helped lure manatees for us to see!! Such a great experience and memorable dinner!

Great casual place on the water at Key West. Run by a very ice couple. Great food , loved tossing the leftover bread scraps to the fish.

This so-called barbecue "restaurant" should be avoided at all costs. They most assuredly don't care about their customers, and judging by the appearance of the restaurant AND THE NUMEROUS HEALTH DEPARTMENT VIOLATIONS, this place obviously doesn't care about cleanliness. When the food came I will admit that it did smell delicious, but upon taking that first bite I felt like I was eating a rubber boot! The pork barbecue wasn't tender AT ALL and tasted like cardboard, the baked beans were cold, the sweet tea anything but sweet and my date's beef brisket was barely cooked! After a few bites we decided a refund was in order. Upon returning both plates to the manager on duty for a refund (who stated he was part owner) we were horrified to see how disgusting the back kitchen was. Flies landing on the food as it was being prepared, the windows and walls appeared as if they hadn't been washed in forever, and the cooking surfaces were absolutely disgusting! Not only this, but the manager downright refused to refund our money for such a horrible meal, and having to catch a plane we decided to just leave. It should be noted here that as we were leaving a guy was coming down the steps, his head bleeding profusely from contact with the low overhead partition at the entrance, and as his wife was asking this very same manager to call 911, his angry, disrespectful reply was, "didn't you see the sign to watch your head?!" We later learned this same restaurant has had many health department violations over the years, and they even had to close their doors back in June of last year to address same! All this should make any prospective customer be wary, and think twice about choosing this restaurant. This place was positively disgusting and they couldn't care less about their customers!

Very cool setup on a boat. Great views from the tables if you're dining inside. Brisket plate with Mac and cheese and coleslaw was great. Big portion but brisket was very thin and unlike thick Texas brisket where I'm from. 4 different types of bbq sauce was fun to try and choose a favorite. Bacon hush puppies weren't what I expected. Didn't see nor taste bacon at all. Great selection of drinks and staff was super friendly. Would try again!

This is a really cool concept - eating BBQ on a boat! - but to be honest that's all I liked about this place. First things first, when you arrive, there is no signage instructing you to walk up and order at the counter. Had the employee on duty not verbally told us to do so, we probably would have just seated ourselves to wait for a server - and that is just what we saw several other groups do! (So it wasn't just us.) Of course the other people were also instructed to get up and go stand in line at the counter. A sign or poster or *something* would be very helpful. Key West is not a cheap place, and I'm not a cheapskate either, but over $50 for what was basically fast food quality BBQ for two adults and one child is excessive in my book. The food was mediocre (none of us even finished our meals) and the bottled sodas were warm before the food even arrived since there was no ice available. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be giving this place a second shot.

Just left here and can't say enough good things. The food was some of the best smoked bbq I've ever had. Then add in their in house made bbq sauces....chefs kiss. The collards were amazing , if you like a Mac and cheese with a kick they've got you and the creamy Cole slaw didn't disappoint. Also if you have kids there are fish you can feed and get a chance to enjoy your food while they throw bread. The service and people running it were very nice and attentive. Can't wait to visit in the future. Just don't forget they are closed on Mondays.

The Angie's Loaded Fries tasted phenomenal. Loved the floating shack right on the marina, practically eating on a boat. The staff was super friendly too.

Somewhere between below average and average. As someone who has eaten bbq across the country, just skip it and do the food key west is known for. Dry meat, cheese on burnt ends which wasn't mentioned in the door dash menu(I'm allergic), no sauce on the meats, very expensive.

Dining on BBQ on a docked boat-fun and funky! The staff was helpful as we kind of fumbled around trying to order. Food was good and lots of it. Only complaint was the beer wasn't very cold, but hey, we survived. Noticed an outside/upstairs deck as we left, not sure if it's in use or not but would be a great place to eat if so.

This hidden gem is actually a floating houseboat in the charter boat marina! Cashier was so helpful and friendly. The brisket was tender and seasoned to perfection! All the sides were outstanding. There are no obvious street signs, but if you know...you know!

Cashier that worked on 07april2023 at 820 PM. WAS A COMPLETE A HOLE. I've never encountered a more rude person ever! He's a bad representative of the keys. This guy should not be in the serving industry.

Fantastic BBQ....just judging by the sandwiches we had time to grab before a Harbor Tour I'd have to say Smoked On The Water BBQ has got some of the best bbq we've had...we'll definitely see them again!

I had a lot of fun trying out different BBQ sauces on the pulled pork. The potato salad and collards beat my own, and that says a lot! I threw a bread morsal over the banister, and a shark swam up! Enjoyed our meal, service was great, and the atmosphere was most enjoyable. Thanks guys!

Being from Olathe Kansas and having the burnt ends here was a great taste, especially with the Cotija cheese on top. Sauce had a tint of Gates in it. Very good taste of home. Wish them well. Definite do over!!

I typically don't rate at 5 stars nothing is perfect. Put this is one of the best barbecue places in the country!. It's on a barge in the harbor so there is not much ambiance. Your food comes on a parchment lined cafeteria tray and you use plastic utensils I've said it before, at Smoked all the effort and expense goes into the food! It is always perfectly prepared with good portion size at a reasonable price!

Best BBQ (and potato salad) in town. We walked 30 minutes from Duval Street for some of this sweet deliciousness. In fact, it was so good, we begged the owner to drag his house boat to Lake Lure, NC, so we could eat it more often. Don't ever change!

Absolutely great and awesome experience!! We are pretty picky about bbq and that place met our criteria's (at least for what we tried so far). We got there towards the end of the day and I see many comments complaining about items being sold out, warm drinks and whatnot. Guys, it is obviously a small business with a few employees, and the owner told us right away what was sold out and he just restocked drinks so it would be warm... on top of people complaining that it is not well indicated on how to get in, very sketchy stairs, etc... again, you are dining on an actual boat in the port and there is no cooler BBQ experience than this!!! please be a little bit compassionate! Mick is the sweetest and most passionate chef, treated us (and I'm sure like everyone else) like friends! He can be proud of his food and place which are so unique!! We had pulled pork, ribs and burnt ends, as well as the hush puppies, baked beans, corn on the cob and Mac and cheese. Everything tasted delicious to us: very well seasoned, great BBQ flavor, not too fatty, good balance between sweet and savory... we also tried all the sauces and they were very good too. The blackberry jalapeño was my favorite one for sure! Overall price seemed fine for us, again for a very good BBQ in Key West, on a péniche. We will definitely be back!!!

Old time great BBQ joint. Went twice on our vacation. Burnt Ends are outstanding. Chatted with the owner and staff, friendly as can be!!!Definitely will be back.

my husband is pretty happy to have a bbq place outside the downtown area that has free delivery & can deliver to the military base. we order some ribs and they have a few bbq sauces to chose from my favorite the georgia sweet. the mac and cheese I order were a little spicy, but I will order it again... now the bread was a little old and the corn was a little disappointing, I was really looking forward to eat that but I just didn't like it. is not a romantic place, more family oriented but I did like it, the place was clean and the service was fast and friendly definitely a place that we can say we will be going back to.

Phenomenal BBQ! The chicken was amazing as well as the brisket. We had the beans, macaroni n cheese, and the corn as the sides, and all of them were top notch. As we waited, I had a piece of the jalapeño cornbread with a drizzle of honey and it to was delicious. This Will be a monthly staple to the diet!

Why not eat smoked bbq from a floating barge? This place has it all. Cool atmosphere, fabulous bbq, variety of side dishes, good beer selection and the owners are extremely personable and friendly and helpful. Really great food here-make it a must eat in Key West!

We first noticed Smoked BBQ on a bike ride around the key and from the amazing smell of smoked meat, we decided to make it part of our dinner plans during our stay. The service was on point and very friendly. My kids ordered the pulled pork on a bun with fries. My wife and I shared the combo with pulled pork and brisket. We also opted for the shrimp balls with the mango jalapeño sauce for a quick appetizer! Those were excellent!!! The pork had a nice hint of smoke, not over powering and was juicy! The brisket was good, but seemed a little tough and dry. It was still very tasty, but requires a little more sauce. The sides, slaw and beans were very good! Our view was also cool as we enjoyed a nice quiet atmosphere on a little cooler day! Would recommend this to anyone that want to get off of the beaten path of Duval St. for a more enjoyable dining experience in the marina. We will definitely be back!

Worst BBQ ever on record! So salty and XXX spicy as in red hot! Menu should have a warning for people. Also burnt ends plate w/2 sides was $27.59 and was size of super small appetizer. Tossed it all except the corn and beans (just OK) Also did not realize I was Door Dashing from someone cooking on a house boat in the "Bight".... UGH...Really wish Key West would get some REAL GOOD BBQ!

I can not say enough good things about this local BBQ spot. The food is to die for, the views are amazing and the staff is even better! I can even get here via boat it doesn't get much better than that.

Absolutely delicious barbecue I was thinking it was going to be miserably hot but they had fans everywhere. Nice selection of beers and I thought the barbecue was outstanding.

My son and I drive from Palm Beach County to Los Angeles every year, and we decided to try barbecue around the country on our travels. Highlights include Memphis, Kansas City, Savannah and Texas-style. I never knew Key West was a barbecue destination! Here at Smoked BBQ, I had the brisket and burnt ends. Both were tender and very flavorful. Even the sides were delicious (cucumber salad and baked beans, which had a nice kick). Everything I ordered was gluten-free. I can't wait to bring my son here.

ordered 3 bbq sandwiches and a quarter rack of ribs. sad to that it was the most underwhelming meal my self and my compatriots have had in key west. the rib was burnt and was only a single rib. was unaware you had to specify the animal the ribs had to come from cause they were tiny.

First time here, love it we will be back. Great bbq on the water . Excellent sauces and customer service . We will be back .

The blond and I were riding around Key West and decided to get BBQ. So we popped in in this place, that's right on the water on a barge to check it out. We were pretty damn happy when we got done eating. The ribs were really good and so were the wings. Plus today they had collard greens which were really tasty and of course vinegar-based cucumber salad. Now you may want to hang out down on Duval Street and look for some barbecue, but I suggest you get off your butt and get on over here and try what they have. My opinion you will not be disappointed before I have had barbecue all over the United States and at least 30 different states. And this is some really good stuff out here in the Keys. The blueberry jalapeno BBQ sauce was a killer and I suggest you try it! But if you really got the hankering and the ability to take hot stuff they do have a Reaper barbecue sauce that you can try.

Awesome BBQ !!!!! We used to have a barbecue place about 15 years ago here in Key West called the Meteor. I thought I would never find a barbecue place that compared to that until I found Smoke BBQ On the water. How cool is it to be in Key West sitting on a floating boat eating barbecue.

Very cool concept and a Great view. Food was very Good, we got the brisket tacos and smoked corn. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is Bc it was kind of pricey to begin with and they only have bottled drinks and they don't last long in the fl heat.

BEST BBQ IN THE FLORIDA KEYS Dave and Mick (the owners) are ALWAYS there to make sure that everything come out absolutely perfect! The meats and veggies are smoked to perfection and YOU ADD YOUR OWN SAUCE. Nothing is drowning in sauce that's chosen for you. Six+ different sauce and the choice is all yours. Not to mention, the place is in the water. I've seen rays and manatees and sharks and all kinds of fish and birds. Truly a Key West treasure.

Four of us diner In for the evening. We all had something different , I had the brisket sandwich (the brisket was sliced thinned and good) which came with queso and gardinero on a Sesame seed bun and one side and I got the Mac n cheese and it was alright .. Our friend had the " not so plain Jane " that thing was so plain and' a bit on the cold side but we made it work. Burnt ends was another item menu we had, not as much(portion of ends) as we thought came with it but they were good and hot, came with 2 sides and one was jalapeño cornbread which was nice and moist & delicious. the corn was amazing but not hot just luk warm

Disappointed does not say enough. If it wasn't on the water I wouldn't have given it two stars. How do you screw up BBQ? I am not sure how these folks are still in biz. Brisket was dry like it was old. Not even sure what was wrong with the chicken-maybe frozen after smoking and reheated? Cucumber salad if you could call it that was disgusting. We love greens and my wife even asked how long they have been cooking-the girl assured her they were done right. What a joke they were. Looked like they decided to just throw greens in lukewarm water and serve. The leaf hadn't even broken down-it's obvious to me they either have no clue or just don't care. The most telling part was after 20 min they came by the table and asked if done and should they throw out the "leftovers". They knew their food sucked and we wouldn't be taking it with us. We decided they just don't care. Time to find a new profession folks. Maybe you can charge admission to feed fish your stale rolls?
