Smoked Lotus BBQ

I'm ready to move to Michigan after eating here. I ordered the pastrami, pork belly burnt ends, and blueberry honey cornbread. My guy threw in a bowl of pit beans (with pulled pork). After telling him how awesome ALL of it was, he brought me some smoked meatloaf! I wish I could try everything on his large menu, but I am flying home today. The 1st photo was before I took a bite. The 2nd, I was feeling like John Candy in The Great Outdoors. The 3rd, success. Go eat here!

This is a yummy, mild melt your face style bbq tucked in the bar. The portions are very well priced, The seating and atmosphere of the bar is the perfect date spot with games.

Found this place while looking for BBQ. The 'restaurant' is a small window to order in the corner of the building. The wait for our food was about 40 minutes from the time of ordering and they shut down ordering about every 30 minutes to catch up on orders. The food was absolutely amazing. With some traditional BBQ and some very imaginative dishes like the beans and mac and cheese. Overall I was very pleased and I'll be back.

My daughter and I ordered takeout a few nights ago, at the recommendation of a friend. It was delicious! We ordered the half rack of ribs, burnt ends, and potatoes. The meat was delicious, but the potatoes were the star of the show (plus the included garlic sauce!). The prices were also very reasonable, it was about $33 in total. We will definitely eat here again soon.

The staff was all super friendly and made us feel welcome, the food was AMAZING and the atmosphere was great! The potatoes with the garlic was my favorite part but the mac and cheese with pulled pork, kielbasa, and cornbread were also some of the best I've had. I can't wait to go back!

I came here on the good reviews on Google, but I was really disappointed. I love the vibe of this place, and they have a quality smoker outside of the restaurant. I got the Texas Trinity with Brisket, Pork Belly burnt ends, and ribs. The meat all had good seasoning, and I thought the ribs were tender and juicy. The brisket however, was dry and overcooked. It felt like it could have been a fast smoke or reheated brisket, there was no flop and no moist fat. The pork belly burnt ends we're also dry and not very tender. I love pork belly & burnt ends, but this was my first pork belly burnt ends. There wasn't a sweet caramelized sauce id expect in a burnt end, and it wasn't a juicy fatty flavor either. It just felt like dry pork that needed to be drenched in sauce. A hallmark of a good BBQ joint can be their sauces, and I was also super underwhelmed here, idk if there were more options than what I got as an unlabeled ketchup based Midwest sauce and a KC sauce? Neither were very flavorful, and I couldn't tell if they were the same sauces or meant to be different. Lastly the cornbread, blueberry cornbread. Not my cup of tea, I just really wanted something less sweet to pair. Overall I was really disappointed, I loved the reviews, I thought they had some innovative ideas, and it's inside a cool bar with good drinks and good prices. Unfortunately I don't think it's worth another shot for me with a few red flags in the sauces and cornbread having me thinking it's more than just an off cook I received.

Wow! Such a hidden gem. The service was fast, efficient, and friendly. The portions were generous. If you love heat in your bbq sauce, the spicy sauce has an amazing kick! The pulled pork was lean, not fatty. Smoked meatloaf was tender and delicious. The ribs oh my, tender and flavorful. But the pastrami, was my fav, outstanding. We will be back forsure! Thank you.

We came on Wednesday for the tacos. Smelt amazing when we walked in. Grabbed 1 of each of the tacos (4 different options) and they were amazing. We also grabbed a mac and cheese that was really good and cheesy as well. The flavor on the tacos was really really good. All the meats tasted so awesome and fresh. We will be back for regular bbq for sure 🔥🔥

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. BBQ done right. Hidden gem for sure, and the tiki lounge it's inside of is also super chill. We also got the Brisket and two sides. All A+. This is how it should be done!!!

The food here is great! I have had a variety of items and always enjoyed what I've had. The sides are legit, the specials are typically good too. The one thing I would looooove to see is some homemade ranch. Maybe it's just the Michigander in me speaking but I think they could make some really interesting flavors and since everything they make is great their ranch would be too! But I'll keep going either way!

First time ordering take out from this place. Overall it was very good. Great coleslaw with the right balance of creamy to vinegar ratio and nice size bites of cabbage. The tallow potatoes were really good. The blueberry honey cornbread was, well, how can you go wrong with something with that name? It was very good. My wife had the tender chicken sandwich which she enjoyed. However, it was supposed to come with mayo and pickles, and it didn't. She also wanted swiss cheese added, and paid extra for, and it wasn't. So she was a bit disappointed. I had the smoked meatloaf. It was just okay, for my taste. However, if you like really smoked meats, this is it. Because it's REALLY smoked. Too smoked for me. Overall, it was a good experience. We will try them again since they are basically in our backyard. Looking forward in trying the pulled pork pierogis next.

I'm not sure how this place doesn't have a line out the door at all times. Maybe because it's not greasy, sticky, and dirty like we're accustomed to seeing with the BBQ places we're told are legit. This is just some straight up quality meats and sides served in a cool setting.

We had a large party at EPC and the BBQ did a GREAT job with the food. It was delicious, plentiful and everyone enjoyed it! Later, they even packed up to go boxes for our guests! The food is delicious! try it!!

Nice guys making good bbq surrounded by a beach atmosphere. Pretty much the best thing in Hazel Park.
