This is a "dont judge a place by the outside" kind of place. Trust me, we did and glad we went in. A nice solid meal! Everything is Gluten Free and that is amazing for my wife. The guy working there was great! Super helpful and nice customer service. Very simple rice/fry dishes- fries doubled fried and crispy. Moist meats and great flavor. The chees/gravy fries are a meal on their own and were very tasty! Nothing fancy inside. Although cute decorated for Halloween and Back to the Future playing on the large screen on the wall (which we all loved). Gave a five star due to service and food. The breakdown "food, service, and atmosphere" - food did get a four star... Only because and truly it could of been just me being really thristy- was that the meal was a little salty. Give this place a try. It sites between a Barber and a old Slot car place and does look a little out of place... Although worth the stop and review for an all gluten free place!!

Went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and ordered there to go. Friendly and fast service. There's plenty of parking and plenty of seating. I got the Rohnert Pork which was delicious. My husband got the super nachos, which he says are sharing size lol I got my daughter the fried rice and added chicken. Delicious lunch 😋

We came here before closing and you'd think 4.5 stars is in&out quality. I don't know about mid day but before closing it's worse than KFC. Very simple ingredients and a great idea since most of it can be kept warm or cold like Chipotle. But the mash potatoes seemed to be made before opening and kept warm all day. The potential is there for them to be great but the execution was going the way of blockbusters. The staff. Great staff and great customer service. But i don't like playing that game of "sour spoiled or sour from them using the same spoon as my daughter's Mediterranean bowl on my pot roast?" Since the ingredients weren't the remotely fresh, we'll err on the side of caution and throw it away. It's a shame. We had high hopes. My recommendation as a traveling foodie pass if you're hungry or try with caution if you're curious. The Mediterranean bowl seemed good and fresh. But anything beef or pork with mashed potatoes all seemed dry and old. I have been to parties late and had things on a chafing dish for 4hrs that were more fresh than their mashed potatoes and gravy and beef and pork.

Food and service was great! Set me up with a dish that was on the menu but had ingredients im allergic to, so they made it fresh minus my allergy ingredients.. Will be back!

Really fast service, perfect for my lunch break. There was enough for two people to share. My only complaint is the cheese sauce on my Rohnert Pork was a bit texturally challenged which probably means it’s not as processed as normal cheese sauce, so I’m really not that upset about it. Overall quality for the price is nice and I would say this is a perfect spot when you get the munchies

I enjoyed the food, I went with the "Rohnert pork", as how can I not go with something named after the city. I enjoyed it, my only request would be maybe add another veggie. Bell peppers, onions, even jicama or something to give it a little crunch. But let me tell you, that pulled pork was season two perfect perfection, and the fries are really good. Turns out they have a dessert fry option that I learned about later, so my next review will be covering that, as dessert fries seems like an outstanding way to either end or start my weekend

Smokin Bowls is the kind of spot you stumble into once and end up coming back to every week. The food? **CHEFS KISS**. Bowls packed with bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and solid portions - One Bowl can feed two people. The vibe is super chill—laid-back but not boring. Great playlist in the background (think feel-good hits with some throwbacks mixed in), and the customer service? Top notch. Everyone’s friendly, fast, and just cool to talk to. Bonus points for the rotating movies playing on the screen. Makes the whole experience feel cool to chill at while giving those with attention spans the size of a goldfish something to look at. If you're into good food, good people, and good energy, Smokin Bowls is a must. 🔥 10/10 recommend.

I drive 3 hours to eat here. I love it! We always get the roast beef and mashed potato and/or Boy Named Sue bowl. The nicest young men are focused on good quality food!! ❣️❣️ and yes, that’s 103” television for movie nights! 🍿

Back again. Southwest Bowl and Chicken Balsamic salad this time. Still freaking yummy and prices not outrageous for the portions we received. Staff as cheery and friendly as ever! This is now our de facto place to stop whenever we come to the Green Music Center @ Sonoma State. Just be wary of post-meal narcolepsy if you manage to finish your entire meal. Enjoy!

There was a time in my life where I could go anywhere and eat anywhere and feel like life was worth living. After coming into the health issues and realization I could not eat bread.... BREAD, this time ended. Mocked by people every where since a staple food was my enemy. Not my choice! Now..... I don't wander alone. Smokin Bowls offers me the tangy, salty and spicy foods that let me eat my feelings, since I cannot feel my feelings. I like being able to watch popular movies, and soak my tongue in whatever savory dish I feel like. It is an experience, it is food, it is beyond the depths of people's soul. It takes sadness in your hearts and covers it in nacho cheese. It tells you that you are not alone and gives you 83 fries to be your friends. It grants immortality to your memories in the form of gluten free mac and cheese, which is pretty good. I get pork added to that and I like it.

When I first heard the name Smokin' Bowls, I 100% thought it was a dispensary but nope, it's a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant in a strip mall, just a few doors down from a huge thrift store... Best accidental discovery ever! I got the Chicken Balsamic Salad with extra dressing, and wow... that vinaigrette is next-level. Tangy, balanced, and so good I ordered extra on the side just to spoil myself. The bacon fried rice was another first for me, and it did not disappoint, total comfort food. My friend grabbed the Rohnert Pork Bowl and it was huge, enough for two meals. The staff is super friendly, the portions are generous, and even though it's a small, no-frills spot, worth the visit!

OL food, nothing special, nothing to make you rush back for, but a decent fast-food style quick meal to fill you up when you don't want do/can't spend much I had the Rohnert Park of pulled pork fries, the bottled bbq sauce was really sweet and fries right on edge of being burned, but that make them stay crisp under the cheese sauce and bbq sauce

Ok so please someone, anyone tell me what they liked about this place?? For the life of me, I don't understand how they received 4.5 stars! We had the Rohnert Pork Bowl and the Roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy bowl and we took a few bites and threw both bowls away. It was disgusting! I have never experienced this before from anyplace! Frozen tv tray dinners are better than this place! Geesh!

Good food and substantial servings. Staff are friendly, but some were new and needed a bit more training. The location is not very visible, which means you need to either know it's there or use a mapping App.

At Smokin' Bowl I ordered the Bowl Named Sue with chicken, bacon, mashed potatoes, corn, green onions, and gravy. Absolutely delicious! Every bite was pure comfort food -- warm, hearty, and full of flavor. The hearty mashed potatoes, savory gravy, and smoky bacon paired perfectly with the tender chicken. The corn and green onions added just the right amount of freshness and yum. If you're looking for a meal that feels like a big hug in a bowl, this is it. Highly recommend! Aww

First - the lone staff member was friendly. Portions plentiful- great for college kids. I went with the Mediterranean bowl as it has elements I really enjoy. Everything is already made and assembled- I don't know how long the food has been in the "serving table" aka sitting out. Rice was room temp, some components warm and ironically the sun dried tomatoes ice cold. This made for an unpleasant combinations. The sundried tomatoes tasted like they were spooned straight from a jar - oily and it did not work with the feta and other components. The mixture of the oil with the cream just made my tummy sour. I was hoping for hot food- maybe it was just this dish but it didn't work for me

We had a wonderful experience at Smokin Bowls! We were in the Santa Rosa area for the weekend and were craving a dinner that wasn't too fancy or heavy. We landed on this restaurant after looking at reviews and pictures and it did not disappoint!! It was tucked pretty far back from the street and the large parking lot felt dark and sketchy, but their windows were lit up and inviting with several TVs streaming movies and cartoons, the walls dotted with colorful lights. We were the only guests when we arrived, but a steady stream of people came through while we were eating. The two gentlemen behind the counter were so helpful and personable. They made some menu suggestions and asked us a few questions to connect. It felt like they cared about our experience and wanted to be genuinely friendly. We ordered three different bowls and grabbed a few drinks from the fridge, making our way to one of the rustic looking tables with a cushy booth. Our food arrived quickly and we dug in with excitement. Super delicious, perfect level of heat, and great flavor combinations; filling, but not overly so. The environment was so comfortable, I could see myself coming here with a group of friends every week for a D&D session or games, sitting at the large community type table in the center of the room. Loved the food and the vibe so much, we wish we had one in Redding!

I honestly don't get why this place has bad reviews because the loaded fries here are absolute fire. There's nowhere else in Rohnert Park that does loaded fries like they do. We keep coming back for their fries because they're fried in natural beef fat, and you can taste the difference. If you're wondering what to order, I highly recommend their loaded fries meals. Our go-to is the #6 Rohnert Pork with an extra layer of cheese. The portions are super generous, and we always end up with leftovers. Other favorites include the super nachos, southwest bowl, and the Greek garlic fries. The service is fast and friendly every time. Whether we call in or order on the spot, the food is usually ready in less than 10 minutes. I also love how customizable everything is--you can swap the base for fried rice, fries, or mashed potatoes, and they're totally cool if you want to switch up the sauce or add extras. They've got both indoor and outdoor seating, but we usually do takeout. Most people seem to do the same, so it's not surprising if the place looks empty when you walk in. I do love that the dining area has huge TVs playing movies, and it's always clean and well-organized. Overall, don't let the bad reviews throw you off. I'd say 2.5, but I'll round up to 3 cause kid wiring was nice, and it is what it is. Which is... stoner food. For college & HS peeps. Food is all ready made, under heat lamps and steam table. Assembled to order. Which makes the costs a bit questionable, but hey, they don't pretend to be something they're not. It's in the name. Anyways, prob had my one and done, tried a few options with the fam. But, this should tell you what you need to know before making your decision.

I had a dry bowl. It was loaded with good stuff. Workers are nice. They have big TVs in there. All around good place for comfort food.

Smokin' Bowls in Cotati is a culinary crime scene that should be condemned by the health department and burned to the ground. I ordered their pulled pork nachos, and what arrived was a heaping pile of regret that I'll never unsee--or unsmell. The plate was practically drowning in cheap, stringy pulled pork that made up HALF the dish, tasting like it was scraped from the bottom of a discount bin at a shady butcher shop. It was so foul, I'm convinced it was rancid before it even hit the kitchen. The nacho cheese looked promising but turned out to be a gastrointestinal grenade--within hours, I was glued to the toilet with explosive diarrhea that could've powered a rocket to Mars. Thanks, Smokin' Bowls, for the food poisoning nightmare. The booth seats? Falling apart like they were salvaged from a junkyard, with torn vinyl and stuffing spilling out like the place hasn't seen a repairman since the 90s. Sitting there felt like a gamble with tetanus. And the staff? Clearly high out of their minds, stumbling around like they'd just smoked their entire stash in the back. They couldn't string a sentence together, let alone care about the slop they were serving. This place isn't a restaurant; it's a health hazard masquerading as one. Smokin' Bowls, you're an embarrassment to Cotati and to food itself. Save your money and your stomach--eat literally anywhere else, or just starve. It's safer.

Ordered the Rohnert Pork to go. Fries were still crispy and delicious even after a 15 minute drive. Pork was well seasoned and tender. Great portion size for the price (which is reasonable). Fast friendly service. Inside was clean and plenty of tvs for eating in for adults and kids. The cheese sauce was ok, not bad, but not blow your tastebuds either. Still good

The staff is very kind, helpful and aim to please. The menu is interesting. Everything on the entire extensive menu is gluten free. So many choices and so many options. I ordered the chicken with sweet chile sauce over bacon fried rice. It sounded delicious. I also ordered hand cut fries. All to go. It didn't thrill me when I saw the very cool guy (for real) using a slotted spoon to retrieve the chicken out of some kind of liquid. But I went with it. I wish I could say it was delicious. But I'm not a fan of food in a warming station for who knows how long. The bacon fried rice was also in the warming station. I had visions of crispy bacon in slightly crispy fried rice. But that wasn't the case. I'd prefer fresh made food versus food sitting in a warming station. The fries tasted like the grease was old and they looked and tasted like the fries had been fried way before I arrived and dipped into the old oil when I ordered. I couldn't eat them. I think it was my mistake for not walking back in and sharing my experience. In retrospect I'd love a re-do. I went when they first opened and loved their food. It was fresh, delicious and innovative. I'd love to return and find the food fresh and innovative again.

Easy, convenient, always fills the tummy. We have multiple full houses that have multiple dietary wants and these eats are fulfilling to all. It's right off the freeway and takes pick up orders over the phone.

Fun place! Super divey, name fits the place perfectly with massive portions of tasty munchies food. Can easily split an order of the loaded fries. Generous portions of the pulled pork was very tender and well seasoned. Good music & friendly service. Glad I stopped by and will eat here again when the opportunity arises.

This place is amazing! Traveling to see family and I stopped by this place after reading great reviews on a app called "find me gluten free" The place had awesome vibes, the employees were super nice and helpful. Not one rude person in this establishment. The vibe was awesome and the food was fantastic! Coming back for sure

We picked up bowls here after our wedding because our bride and groom meals from the caterer were awful. We pretended they were our wedding dinners and were happy. Thanks for making an awesome make-up meal for us!

Solid food at a solid price! I've heard good things about Smokin Bowls, but never had the chance to stop by. It is located in an odd spot, but looks can be deceiving in this case. So one thing they do not do here is skimp on portions, you will not leave hungry, guaranteed! They also have a wide selection of different ethic meals, which is fun. We opted for the Mediterranean & Curry Bowl. Staff was accommodating and made it right in front of you, so no worries here about food that has been sitting around for awhile. Price wise for the quality and quantity, again you cannot beat it! Honestly both bowls punched a ton of flavor and I was easily in a food coma afterwards, so next time I'd consider that for a lunch break rather than dinner to not feel as full sitting on the couch. Either way, highly recommend!

Comfort food anyone? You can find some here. A very interesting menu. Short and sweet, hopefully it will remain that way so the quality will remain good. Everything we ordered was delicious. The salad was great. The dragon bowl was great. The Bowl Named Sue was good but the gravy lacked flavor (I added some salt and pepper). Quality ingredients and generous portions. Packed in "eco-friendly" bowls. We took the food to go. The staff were not very friendly. My husband requested additional blue cheese for the salad and they were very rude. (Too bad when I ordered on-line, I had provided a generous tip.) Ambiance? Hole in the wall located off the beaten path in a strip mall. Lots of parking. Cost? Everything is expensive nowadays; so, I'd say reasonable for this day in 2024. They also have many interesting other bowls (I consider bowls of junk food - teenagers would probably love). We ordered the Balsamic Salad, the Dragon Bowl, and the Bowl Named Sue. I recommend you check it out.

Very rarely do I immediately feel the need to write about a place (usually it's an angry post) but this place surprised me in all the good ways that I just had to share! We went to an event in Santa Rosa and were looking for a place to eat. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a chance. When we arrived, the outside looked sketchy. Google Maps directed us to the back of the restaurant where the trash cans were (bad omen?) and there was a couple of closed stores nearby. However the inside of the restaurant was clean and quaint. The first thing you'll notice about the menu is that everything is gluten free! Hooray!! Finally a place for me! Second you'll notice that the menu has a lot of variety of food from rice to fries to mashed potatoes and chips. I was a little skeptical because usually places with a large variety of food aren't great. However everything we ordered tasted good! We got the super nachos, the dragon bowl, the Rohnert Park bowl, and the pizza bowl. The super nachos had that nacho cheese on it but it didn't have that gross after taste that nacho cheese typically gives you. The nachos weren't even greasy! The dragon bowl had that sweet Asian chili tang that wasn't too overpowering. My father liked his Rohnert park bowl and he usually hates eating out. My son loved his pizza covered fries. On top of it being tasty, the portions were big! I have lunch for tomorrow now. I am still surprised at this nice hole in a wall we found. Don't sleep on it, gluten free community. You will want to try it all.

This is a simply a gimmick restaurant for SSU students... Genuinely have no idea how this restaurant has been able to stay open for so long. The food tastes like something my 13 year old nephew would make at home after school. I asked what they would recommend to me and they said the "Rohnert Pork" is by far their most ordered item on their menu. It cost me $22 I took about 5-7 bites until I couldn't handle anymore. I offered it to my girlfriend who turned it down after 2 bites and proceeded to give it to my brother who ended up throwing it away after 1 bite. I've been here 3 different times since this place has opened and have never experienced the food that these other reviews are talking about. I've never heard of a local willingly eating here. I would avoid at all costs!!! Go anywhere else but here...

We got the Disco Fries, Asian Chicken and Greek bowl. The fries are good, poutine fries are better, but for cheesy fries smothered in gravy, they're good. The Asian Chicken was disappointing. I wish the chicken was cut into smaller pieces and there were other toppings. Yes, you can add toppings, but I'm just being honest. The Greek Bowl was AMAZING!! The nuttiness of the brown rice with the saltiness of the feta and kalamata olives go so well with the sweet sundried tomatoes. The pork was good, but took a back seat to the other flavorful components. I would go again and explore the topping options. We didn't dine in, but the restaurant was clean and had a spacious layout. The staff was really chill and had recommended the bowl. I liked how friendly and helpful they were in making a decision.

This place is delicious! As someone with celiac disease, I was thrilled to find a gluten-free restaurant that packed this much flavor!

I'm so glad these guys made it through the pandemic! Customer service is top notch. I've never had a bad experience. Dining room consists of booths and tables, very simple. I don't think anything on the menu was over $15. The food is delicious and fresh! Today I got a "Bowl Named Sue". It weighed a whooping 2 pounds and 3 ounces, enough for 4 meals. It contained southern mashed potatoes, chicken, white gravy, corn, bacon, an green onions. I could hardly wait to get it home.

First timer here... I got the #6 Rohnert Park: fries bbq pulled pork bacon cheese sauce and green onions, added jalapeños. The helping is large, the fries are well-done. So, the fries hold up to the toppings. And the toppings are delicious. I would absolutely order again, but - since I like to try everything - I'll prob try something different next time... tomorrow? They have disco fries, so Egging I haven't see since I left NJ a year ago...

Been reading bout this place. Finally went. No ambiance but a real extremely large TV screen streaming a movie. Dark inside. Lots of bowl choices. Reminded me of a Haufbrau style but not self-service. The amount of food is very generous, the mash potatoes were delicious, the roast beef was too salty and the horseradish too weak. I'll pass.

Smokin' Bowls has been in my Yelp bookmarks collection for quite some time so my boyfriend and I decided to try it today! We ordered for pickup via doordash and didn't wait long for our order even though it seemed like everyone in the restaurant was waiting for theirs (side note: we were already like 10 mins. late from when it said it would be ready). The staff were really nice and friendly, but the place smelled bad (kinda like bathroom). Glad we ordered takeout! Now, the food, that was a whole other level! We were highly impressed with the portion size, freshness, and good taste. We will be returning for takeout!

GF Baby. This place is good. My daughter is GF and was so excited to find this place on out road trip. So glad it is still thriving.

I discovered this place for the first time when I moved to Rohnert Park and I've been going here non-stop. The Rohnert Pork Bowl is so good and their fries are always crispy. The portion sizes are huge and the food comes out quick. Also they have this Creme soda in their soda fountain dispenser that I haven't found anywhere else, it goes really well with the food.

Food is good. I love the Balsamic Chicken Salad with blue cheese. Staff aren't real friendly. My wife ordered it on-line and left a generous tip. Maybe next time I'll tell her not to. It's a small restaurant located in a strip mall. Overall, I'm giving it 4 stars because they use quality ingredients and provide big portions.

Been going there since before the pandemic I've had a few other menu items but I always go back to the AMAZING CHEESE FRIES with everything...these guys are great check them out you won't be disappointed especially if you love FRENCH FRIES... ( not sure what's going on in that fryer of theirs but oh my you got to try those fries!)

First time here. Huge portions. Super tasty food. Friendly staff. We like it so much we are coming back Sunday night with mom. Don't let the location nor the decor deter you. It is really good. We got the #5 Roast beef (which is really pot roast and sounds way more appealing) & #11 Asian pulled pork. Both were excellent. Go and try this place!

A friend and I happened upon Smokin Bowls one early Friday evening. The place has a somewhat quirky interior. There is plenty of seating, and the service is quick. My friend and I split an order of the Disco Fries and A Bowl Named Sue. Both were tasty, and I'd probably eat either of them again, but neither of them really blew us away. I love the concept of this spot, so I'd definitely come back to try any of their other menu items, but I imagine that since they offer a good variety of different bowls, it's likely that none of them are spectacular, but they're probably still comforting and yummy. We all need some comfort food every once in a while. I'm glad that Smokin Bowls give us all of these options.

I wanted to take a picture of my food I got the Asian pork bowl. It has carrots, rice, pork, Sriracha, and almonds. I also tried to take a picture of the menu, but for some reason the Camera wasn't working, and I actually was in a hurry. I do like the food. It's not the best food that I've ever had but it is tasty. I got my food go, but the inside of the restaurant was pleasant enough, but a little on the dark side. The person behind the counter was very friendly and helpful.
