The food was so good! The brisket Benedict was huge, and the home fries were perfect. The waffles were a big hit as well! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They made great recommendations and were on top of things. The coffee was fresh, and they had plenty of seating indoors and out. We will definitely be back.

Google
⭐10+ from this girl! If you know nothing about me, one thing you should know is that I love variety and versatility. Smoky Yolk definitely checks all the boxes for variety!!! It's so rare (if not impossible) to find a place that offers good cocktails & a full bar PLUS a decent coffee selection. 🍹🍸🍻🥂☕ Throw in a GOOD breakfast menu (THAT SERVES ALL DAY), "real food", caters to kids, offers fresh scooped ice cream & shakes, has a covered patio with games, and a cozy indoor setting. It literally has it all!!! Let's break down our first meal here... 👧👦Kids got the pancakes with fruit: I stole a bite and was pleasantly surprised at the believe of sweet and crispy while still being soft. Syrup was served warm on the side. and 🍽️The Smoky Yolk Platter (they're currently bottomless pits): Eggs and bacon were fresh and tasty. Home fries were about what you might expect, kind of like little fries but perfectly seasoned. Biscuit was giant!! 🍽️ Hubby had the Pastrami Hash: it looked good and he devoured it. It was a little bit too spicy for me and the kids. More peppery than spice. 🍽️ I had the Prime Benny: Coming from a benny connoisseur, this blew me away. The prime brisket was cooked to perfection and they did not skimp! It was loaded so much so that I had to take home the other half! I would've never even considered pairing brisket with pimento cheese, but y'all. 🤯 It was a flavor explosion of smoky, meaty, zesty, creamy goodness! 😗 The kids enjoyed my brisket too. 😁 We didn't get any drinks this time because we need to hydrate, but my eye is on The Birds & The Bees, any Bloody Mary and mimosa flights! Service was quick and friendly! Even to the kids, which is always a bonus!! See ya next time! SOON!

Google
Server gave great recommendations. We got the breakfast nachos and pancakes to share. The cook came out to check on us and suggested the bourbon whiskey maple syrup - delicious. Overall great food and great service!

Google
Came to this restaurant today for brunch while in town for vacation. Picked it randomly. Had great service and one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten, the brisket eggs benedict. My wife had the deep fried cinnamon roll and she loved it! Will definitely be going back before we head home!

Kim B.

Google
Casual place with friendly service and great food! Would recommend the grits, biscuits and gravy and the breakfast nachos

Lauren G.

Google
Wonderful experience. Our waiter was so attentive and the food came fast! One of the best breakfast places in Charleston. Hidden Gem. Highly recommend!! ❤️

Caitlin S.

Google
This place was pretty good. We ordered the Cajun Benny and prime Benny and both were good, had good flavor. The rest of the menu seemed pretty basic. But the food was still good. Not sure it was enough to bring me back, but still would recommend for a try!

Gerald W.

Google
Food and service were great. I had the Cuban sandwich, and my wife had eggs, bacon, short stack, & home fries. She raved about her food, & I thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich. Parking was easy, and (weekday after 1 pm) we had our choice of tables. I was amazed at how quickly we got our food.

Samuel S.

Yelp
Very good burger and friendly server. I have now eaten at Smokey Yolk twice. I ate pancakes the first time and good too.

Yelp
Not sure why people complain about the bar tenders. The gentleman Jared behind the bar was exceptional. His grasp of how transplants from yankee states screw things up is spot on. Maybe the best ever. If you don't like the place STFU and go back from where you came from. Thanks for being real.

Yelp
Bizarre and insulting server! The breakfast food honestly is average quality, for above average prices. But today a male server took care of us and his behavior at first was eccentric and colorful but entertaining. But then he charged us for two extra coffees, and took them off but then left us with a fairly loud "and you two should probably look for a different breakfast restaurant!" Which was so bizarre and insulting. It concerns me that they have such staff. There are definitely better options nearby!

S H.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. The location is good, the people are friendly, but it's always too cold inside and the cook is terrible! the food generally tastes good, but all 4 times I've been there my food is overcooked and the fried items are greasy. there are many other choices nearby...I'm not going back.
google avatar

Aaron C.

Yelp
Perfect little breakfast spot. Just 15 minutes from folly beach. Fresh eggs and juices. Everything was cooked perfectly. Waitress was a real pleasure to deal with.

Yelp
I read all the bad reviews and honestly I can't relate to any of it. The price is high. But hey this is not Waffle House. They offer latte, there's a full bar. And this is a few step up from a Waffle House so yea it will cost more. I had a caramel latte: 5/5. Nothing fancy. Just a good cup of latte Main course: biscuit with fried chicken cover in peppered gravy. Added the pastrami hash (up charge) 4/5. I should ask for more gravy on my biscuit but I didn't. The gravy was very very well seasoned. The chicken was well done. Fried to be crispy but not greasy.. pastrami hash is good, just a little dry. But I still like it. Two ladies were great. They customer service here perfect. The gentleman, ummm not so much. On a Sunday at 12:30pm. I was lucky to find a spot at the bar. Because this place is jam packed. But it's a very good spot for brunch

Yelp
Fantastic!!! Great place for breakfast. My daughters and I stopped in for breakfast in a visit, and we loved it!! One ordered pancakes and was very pleased. Pancakes were light and fluffy. And delicious. Daughter 2 ordered a Traditional breakfast with eggs over medium, and had them add cheese to the grits. I'm always impressed when the eggs actually come over medium because of the small difference in time between easy, medium, and hard. These eggs were perfectly over medium, and the grits were good. I ordered the shrimp and grits and they were so good! The depth of flavor was incredible. Deep, rich brown sauce and perfectly cooked shrimp. The sauce was right on the border of spicy: enough to make me tell it was, but not enough to inhibit me from devouring this delicious meal. Service was spot on. If you're looking for breakfast in the greater Charleston area, this place is worth the drive!! You've gotta check it out. You can thank me later!!! :)

Yelp
More down to earth atmosphere. Large outside seating area. Food was warm, flavors went together. Great and quick service!

Yelp
For delicious food in a casual aptmosphere, Smoky Yolk is hard to beat! My husband and I have eaten here multiple times, and it never disappoints. This morning, he had the "Overload"; Eggs, bacon, grits, toast, and pancakes! All delicious and you'll need a nap afterwards. I had the brisket Philly. The meat is so tender you barely need to chew it, w/ melted Swiss cheese, sautéed onions and mushrooms on a super soft roll. Absolutely delicious and enough for two people! They also have a short list of very nice specialty cocktails. My husband had the frozen screwdriver with a Grand Marnier floater. I had the birds and the bees, delicious and only 8.00. Anywhere else, you'd pay twice that.!

Yelp
NAME CHANGE. NOW SMOKY YOLK all items our group ordered were delicious. great friendly service. same owners. breakfast all day. full bar
google avatar

Julia R.

Yelp
This was my first trip to Smoky Yolk (since the name change). They were busy and our waiter told us it was his first day on his own. He did a fabulous job-our service experience was flawless! I had the omelette and my mom had the Avocado toast. We both really enjoyed them, though I wish I had ordered the avocado toast. It looked amazing! Smoky yolk is spacious with lots of outdoor and indoor seating. I look forward to trying again!

Yelp
We met some out of town family. They put us in a big room so our visit was very nice and peaceful. It was .50 wing night so the majority of our group ordered wings. They had a steak special that was quite chewy. The wings were1st place. Nice bar. Great service. It wasn't crowded so service was quick. Plenty of parking. Handicapped accessible. Sorry no pics no phone.

Yelp
Awesome brunch spot! We stopped in on a Sunday late morning on our way to Folly Beach. Food was wonderful and the menu had so many options. Bloody Mary was good but not best ever. Great local craft/draft selection! Our server was very grumpy, not sure if that is her every day approach or just a bad day. Seating options inside are variable - booths, tables, counter. Outside patio furniture was in decent shape, but very well used. We did wait about 15 minutes to be seated, but tables were quickly being made ready after customers departed. Several large groups were ahead of us, so our entrees took a bit long to arrive. Fried green tomato BLT was excellent! It definitely stole the show over the chicken and waffles & the pancakes. The chicken and waffles was good, and so were the pancakes, but they didn't really stand out.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast. Easy parking in the lot. No wait as it was a weekday, plenty of seating yours, in and out. Had to order the fried cinnamon roll which was one of the main reasons I came here! Delicious, highly recommend. It comes with whipped cream, cream cheese icing, syrup and your choice of meat. It says the syrup is served on the side but it was on ours. Then we both ordered cheese omelettes. You had a choice of grits or home fries. No bread option which was a little surprising but fine since we had the cinnamon roll and our carb quota for the month! We wouldn't order the omelets again, didn't taste like much and it wasn't soft, like I asked for it to be. The home fries and fries were very good. Prices were fair, bathroom was clean and service was good. They also have weekday lunch specials that looked good and ingredients. Overall, I will be back to try other menu items.

Sherri J.

Yelp
First time here! We had a pretty big party but we were seated as soon as we walked in. I ordered the pastrami hash...it had great flavor, the house smoked pastrami over shredded hashbrowns with onions and pepperoncini relish covered with hollandaise sauce, and topped with an egg... wow delicious! My husband tried the country fried pork skillet and said it was delicious as well. It was a ton of food! Our server, Chimene, was fabulous! We will be back!
google avatar

Opal D.

Yelp
Really good food. Updated diner feel plus cocktails. Solid menu with options for everyone. Would 100% return. One star lower for really dirty bathroom (there was a brown smudge on a toilet seat with a live fly on it).
google avatar

Beau M.

Yelp
Staff is decent, food is less decent, ambiance is just kinds trashy and overwhelming. Overall I'm not satisfied with a lot of the related companies. Tattooed Senorita failed. Smokey Oak failed. Zeppelin's failed. We'll just have to see what's next..
google avatar

Kaitlyn Y.

Yelp
Definitely impressed. Husband and I are on vacation and this was our first morning out exploring. We were going to go elsewhere but they had no parking anywhere. Kind of glad there wasn't any parking because we got to try this place and boy was it worth it. Our waitress offered us a taste of the grits because neither of us knew what it tasted like. We ordered the Overload and the Breakfast nachos. We were impressed.
google avatar

Catrina B.

Yelp
This place is way overpriced and not sure why! The food is a 3, I mean it's just breakfast not that hard. Service was slow food came out in 3 stages and the person bringing the food had no idea what any of the dishes were even called Avocado toast umm no French toast. Clean will do if hungry and in a pinch. But be ready to over spend on breakfast!

Robert S.

Yelp
Good choice for breakfast on James Island . The spinach, Florentine Bene was savory and delicious. It reminded me of my mother's. Servers were nice but service per se was a little haphazard Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. I'd return.
google avatar

Ted K.

Yelp
Dills and Camp is located where Smoky Oak used to be. I had a chance to pop in for brunch and had the eggs Benedict, coffee, and a mimosa. The food and drinks were pretty well priced in comparison to other brunch spots nearby. The service was good and friendly. Overall it's a cool brunch spot that's definitely worth checking out.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Nice spot, used to be called Dills & Camp Sundries. Same menu, same staff, same décor - just a name change. Good breakfast at fair prices - you simply must try the Pastrami Bowl, too much food!! She had the Avocado Toast - super!! Coffee comes from a roaster in Summerville, divine. You cup will never be empty!!

April W.

Yelp
Service is horrible. We rarely saw our waitress. My husband had to get up and go ask for refills. When the food was brought to the table, the lady basically threw the plate at me spilling all the syrup all over the eggs. If I wanted syrup on my eggs, I would've asked for it. The food is mediocre. Waffle House is way better and cheaper. Will not be returning. Go to millers.
google avatar

Liz G.

Yelp
We just love Dills and Camp Sundries! Just about every weekend my husband and I find ourselves here. We have been missing a good breakfast spot on James Island for quite some time! This restaurant checks all of the boxes for us! And to be honest that is saying a lot! The atmosphere is always super welcoming, the staff is very friendly, and the food is outstanding! We were discussing what our favorite dishes have been and are having a hard time narrowing it down. We've tried at least six different things thus far and all have been very very good! One item I always get is a chai latte. Depending on the weather I will get it either hot or cold. Both are exceptional. Thank you for bringing this great spot to the island!
google avatar

Jenny S.

Yelp
I was debating between 3 and 4 stars for this place. The atmosphere is great. It's a cute little place. It is the exact same thing as Dills and Camp, but I think they are open longer. Not sure why they changed their name. I ordered the Florentine Benny and it was good. There was nothing special about it, but it left me feeling satisfied. The home fries were delicious. They were more of a fry than a breakfast potato though, but I love fries so I can't complain about that! The service was incredibly slow. They seemed pretty busy but not overly busy. It probably took us about 20 min after we were seated for someone to come over. I will be back though!

Lucy R.

Yelp
It was my first time at Smoky Yolk and I had a great experience. We got the Build Your Own Omelet with cheese grits and the Who Flew The Coup with cheese grits. The build your own omelet was just a basic omelet but there was lots of fillings and it was delicious. The Who Flew The Coup was amazing- the chicken was crispy and the sausage gravy had great flavor- I would definitely get it again. The only complaint I have were that the grits weren't hot and were on the brink of being cold. If they were warmer they would've been a lot better. Our server was great and the food came out very quick, at a great price. Overall, I would definitely want to come back!
google avatar

Monica T.

Yelp
Our regular breakfast spots were closed or full so we decided to try Dill & Camp Sundries and we were SO happy we did!!! ... Upon entering the restaurant, we were sweetly greeted and taken to a comfy booth. Although only open during breakfast and lunch, the menu offers many Signature cocktails and draft beers! And a great selection of coffee. I ordered the Cajun Omelette and it was delicious. Fresh ingredients and lots of flavor! Loved the side of grits! Members of my group really enjoyed the Pastrami Hash. We can't wait to visit again and try some of the signature cocktails and more of the food menu!! We visited on Christmas Eve morning. It seemed as though a large family/group was meeting in a back room - could be a cool thing the restaurant has to offer!
google avatar

Ron P.

Yelp
Smokey Yolk is our go to breakfast spot on Saturday morning after our kids football practice. Everything on the menu is stellar. It has become a favorite family routine
google avatar

Patrick P.

Yelp
Came here first over a year ago when it was Dill and Camps Sundries and I really liked it. Food was good and service was excellent. The 2 times I've been since the name change it has been subpar. Besides the bacon wrapped jalapeños and my stack of pancakes, which were good, the food ranged from average to bland. The service was OK, but after taking our order the server disappeared. I need some hot sauce for these tasteless eggs and butter for this dry biscuit, server person, I don't want to walk back in the kitchen to get it myself. Add to that the unfinished floor that looks like it's supposed to be part of the ambiance and it's just not a good experience.
google avatar

Mark L.

Yelp
Awesome addition to James Island. The energy both inside and on the patio is positive and flowing. Truly a Mecca of quality coffee drinks, mimosas and cocktails. The staff is supportive and always with a smile and the food...oh the food So fresh Just the right portions And delicious. You won't go wrong for breakfast or lunch
google avatar

Gil G.

Yelp
This place was just mediocre to me (and the three others in our group. Certainly not worth a return visit. I had an omelette and felt that the sausage was way overcooked - burned actually. The pancakes were rubbery to me but one of the folks in our group thought they were okay. None of us cared for the coffee. The service was also fairly lackluster. We had to flag down our server and ask for refills twice.
google avatar

Brian D.

Yelp
Breakfast nachos with brisket! Friendly service Outdoor seating is covered and screened, very inviting

Terry B.

Yelp
The pork chop bowl breakfast was awesome! Service was on the spot too. Highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Talina A.

Yelp
I ordered the breakfast nachos which aren't nachos at all lol it's brisket, home fries and an egg. I asked my egg to not be runny and they gave me a semi runny egg. In fact, they put my egg on top of my bf's shrimp & grits ... Had my brisket piece not been more fat than meat the food may have been better. I've had way better brisket downtown at Rodney Scott's. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here since I live in Ladson. We just happened to be at folly for the wkend & this place had 4.5 stars on Yelp (at the time). My bf said the shrimp & grits were good but he's had better. Our waitress was a very nice & attentive older woman. I ordered a Bees nees cocktail which was an interesting flavor profile to say the least. My bf enjoyed his sweet tea. We sat on the inside of the restaurant since outside in July is super humid ... but inside was just as hot & humid if not hotter than outside. We most likely won't be stopping back
google avatar

William T.

Yelp
Service sucks. The waiter is rude and the they over charge you. 15 minutes for a drink. Total disrespect.
google avatar

Karen T.

Yelp
Stopped by on a weekday and sat outside in the covered patio. Service was super friendly, nice brunch style spot. Food was fine but not fantastic, and you have options for both breakfast or lunch.
google avatar

Peter L.

Yelp
Solid diner style food in a nice setting. The space is modern and industrial, nice look and feel. Service is very attentive and friendly. And overall the food is good. Id say much of it is typical diner food but with a bit of a twist and a bit better than average. Enjoyed the pancakes, chicken and waffles, and biscuits and gravy.
google avatar

Victoria B.

Yelp
This place recently opened on JI and is exactly what we need! Cute little brunch place serving breakfast & lunch 7 days a week! The drinks were tasty and reasonably priced, and entrees were all large portions. I ended up taking the chicken & waffles home. Home fries were a slam dunk, perfectly crispy and flavorful. The wait staff was all friendly and patient as we were catching up with our group. I'll be back!
google avatar

Danielle W.

Yelp
We tried Smokey Yolk for the first time and it was a great experience! Breakfast served all day was fab, plus a 50 cent wing special. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Evan G.

Yelp
Smoky Yolk on Camp Road on James Island is a great place to go for quality breakfast and brunch in a cool and relaxed atmosphere. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have everything that you need.
google avatar

Hailey C.

Yelp
Food was delicious with great sized portions, must try just outside of Folly Beach! Super super fast and efficient kitchen staff, waiters are friendly and really give the southern hospitality feel, quick to recommend their personal favorites on the menu! Restaurant is clean with an upscale diner ambiance, perfect for a quick bite or chill at the bar, not to mention their TOP TIER music playlist of oldies greatest hits. I'll definitely stop here again!!
google avatar

Timothy A.

Yelp
I am so happy to have tried this new restaurant. So flippin' good. Met a buddy here for breakfast on Saturday. We got there early, but suggest getting there earlier. We sat at the bar, which was fine, and plopped down in front of this wicked amazing orange juice machine. I could watch it all day, but better yet, I could drink it all day too. Best OJ I've had in a while. I ordered the Southern Bennie. Eggs Benedict for you who are not fluent in brunch terminology. It had a fried green tomato, pulled pork, poached egg, and tomato based sauce on top. I ate it all. And I loved it. I also drank a latte because our server said she made a killer beverage, so I couldn't pass it up when she upsold me from coffee. Well worth it. Overall, lots of food and drink for a very fair price, and great service and location. Can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Brian P.

Yelp
I don't understand the great reviews. I found the food to be incredibly mediocre. As in probably marginally worse than a Denny's. The fried green tomatoes at $9 were the best, but for 4 small slices was just okay value. The $10 avacado toast has a pre-bought green "spread" of some kind but it 100% wasn't fresh smashed real acocado. And had a slightly brown shade to it that made it appear unfresh. The thinest layer I've ever seen. The home fries that came with the forgettable omelet were clearly pre-bought/packaged from a restauarant supply and were terrible. On a positive side, service was efficient. The space is nice/airy/modern. And the prices were not bad at all. In fact, I wish they had charged a buck or two more and put that in better ingredients. But please have very low expectations for the food. This is about as far from a "foodie" breakfast joint as you could imagine. That may be a-ok with you, but go in with eyes wide open.

Yelp
Came here with a party of 8 on a Saturday and was quickly seated which was great. The service was fast and our waitress Keeley was a sweetheart. We were indecisive and chaotic when ordering and she was very patient with us. The breakfast nachos were out of this world (we shared these as an app) and we all liked our entrees except for my friend who ordered the avo toast. For the food and and service I would probably give a 4 star review, but knocked it down a star because of the hostesses. They were blatantly eyeing us down for the entirety of our visit here and we truly couldn't understand why. My friend accidentally bumped into one of them as she was exiting the bathroom and the hostess audibly scoffed at her. We are a loud and friendly bunch which I suppose can be off putting, but we are more than polite and respectful so we were thrown off by this behavior and lack of professionalism by these two young girls from the moment we walked in. Other than that I think I would come back!
google avatar

Caroline E.

Yelp
The menu has so many choices. Sundries indeed. Our server was pleasant, our drinks were good, our food was delicious, bathroom was clean!! I can't wait to go back
google avatar

Alana D.

Yelp
We love Dills and Camp! This is a great brunch spot with the best mimosas in James Island! Food is an upscale southern diner vibe and it's delicious! My favorite is the Big on the Pig Biscuit and the peach mimosa. If it's your first time there try the mimosa flight! There's plenty of seating options inside and outside. This would be a great spot for a family brunch or a brunch with friends!
google avatar

Emily V.

Yelp
Best breakfast we've had in a while! Our waitress was great and their patio is very nice (plus dog friendly). Easy parking and away from big traffic areas which is nice. The pancakes were so tasty and light. we got the country steak skillets and who flew the coup biscuit - both were fried really well and the biscuits in both were great.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place for breakfast. It seems to always hit. Unfortunately today I was so turned off by the bartender. I don't think I will go back. He's a baldheaded guy with black gauges in his ears. His attitude sucks. If he's going to be in a restaurant business, he needs to understand kindness will go a lot further than his rudeness. After waiting around 10 minutes for him to pick up our check to take the credit card I took the card out and replaced it with exact change. I am the person that over tips but I could not make myself leave this Jerk a tip.

Jay A.

Yelp
I love little local (non chain) when I travel. Smokey Yoke didn't disappoint. Came in for breakfast and had the pastrami skillet. I wasn't sure when I ordered because of the peperochini relish that was in it, but as always I decided to trust the server's recommendation. It was awesome. They server local farm fresh eggs and all fresh ingredients. Portions were huge and well worth the price. Will certainly return when back on James Island.

C M.

Yelp
Food was great but simple! Flavor was good but I felt you could find this food anywhere that serves breakfast. We enjoyed the cute cafe and food!
