Cards Against Humanity Sells Chicago Board Game Cafe - Eater Chicago

"In Snakes & Lattes, the cafe has found an experienced partner who won’t tinker with the established formula. Game concierges will still teach customers how to play the various board games inside the cafe’s vault. Snakes & Lattes runs a trio of locations, with one in Toronto and another in Tempe, Arizona." - Ashok Selvam

Very fun place! They have all kinds of games you can check out, pretty much any game you can think of they have available. The espresso martini was delicious, and I highly recommend it. The food was pretty good. It was a little slow getting to us, and it wasn't super warm, but the flavors were good. They have a "dice shot" that you can order, and that was super fun. You pick a dice, and they bring over this castle that you drop the dice in, and your shot is determined by the number your dice lands on. Plus, you get to keep the dice as a souvenir. The decor is super fun, and the chairs are pretty comfortable, we didn't play a game but would have been comfortable enough for a couple hours had we chosen to play a game.

I wanted to come here for the longest time, and I FINALLY made it!! I found out their brunch trivia morning on a Sunday and I committed to making it this time with my lovely friends!! The entire experience was lovely. The flow was smooth. There were no awkward moments and we were given plenty of time to order our food and beverages (via a QR code) eat, and chitchat with each other in between parts of the trivia game. The hosts were lovely and they sounded loud enough for everyone to hear (their AV system is great), so even if you’re seated at a corner, you’ll be fine. The trivia was hosted at one side of the venue, and I didn’t get a chance to check out the other end, but it seemed like there was another birthday party going on at the same time. Now I have an excuse to go back! Of course, I’ll have to check out the game wall at the corner thoroughly as well!!

Was iffy at first to try this place but glad I did. We got the chicken bacon ranch dip, franks red hot wings, side of spicy Korean chicken. For the main dishes we got the tortellini pasta, spicy chicken sandwich and i got the beef stroganoff. Everything was a 5 out of 5 jalapeños. That stroganoff was the best to me. Fire. Also ordered couple of michaladas and they were ok. Server was awesome. Nice, friendly, attentive. Will come back again and will order the beef stroganoff Again!!!!!

Google
Great experience! Visiting town and enjoyed getting to know some folks over shared apps (the elote bites are a must), beverages and board games. There's a per person cost to use board games ($6 currently) but it's totally worth it because the games are in great condition and there's even a board game concierge of sorts to find games for you and even recommend similar games—great way to discover new faves.

My husband and I stopped by Snakes & Lattes for dinner while we were in town visiting. The location is super convenient as it’s located off Mill Ave. I loved the decor both inside and out. There was plenty of outdoor seating which is great for when the weather is nice. They have a TON of board games to play while enjoying your food & drinks. The games range from strategy to trivia and of course the nostalgic classics. As a drink I had the 50 shades of lavender which was tasty & strong just how I like it. For food we shared the fried pickles, bbq chicken flatbread and grilled cheese with tomato soup. We really enjoyed it all so it was hard to pick a favorite. A super cute spot to visit for lunch or dinner. I’d recommend checking it out if you’re in the Tempe area!

Popped in for a quick bite. Fun atmosphere here…lots of board games to play. Great coffee and cocktail menu. We ordered the fried elote plate and the carnitas rice bowl. Both excellent! Service is fantastic.

Google
QR code to do anything is kinda annoying and not super user friendly. I’m not a boomer but I do miss actual menus in these cases. Games aren’t included when you sit down- it’s an additional $6. Food is pricey- but they do have a variety of options. Food was good. Service was as expected - nothing phenomenal but not bad.

This was a fun place to stop in. We came after an ASU graduation for my family members who were from out of state. We were able to walk right in and get a table with no wait and this was on a Monday around 11:00 a.m. The waiter gave us the rundown of the menu and stated that everything was able to order from the phone app and got our drinks promptly. Since we were one of the first tables to be seated, our food came out very quickly and was hot and delicious. We didn't play games while on our visit due to the time constraints and people that we were with, but they do have a ton of offerings. The price to play seems a little steep, but since you can stay there for hours I guess it makes sense and ensures that the games are taken care of and they can be replaced if needed. Both the drinks and the coffee were great and had no complaints about the food whatsoever. The only problem that I had was with the bill. We were a group of eight but split into two parties of four per family and when the bill came they had already added gratuity for the party of eight. Even though we were doing separate checks and since we made our own orders and they only hadto take the food from the counter to our table not sure that that gratuity was justified. Also, when completing the billing via the app they make you go through a tip portion of it and you have to enter something and zero is already there and it won't let you go past. So I ended up tipping another 10% on top of the gratuity that was already ordered. Something to look out for. I would go back again

Yelp
This was really fun! It's nicely decorated and very spacious. We were welcomed right away and told how it worked -- a server does come bring waters but you pay your game fee and do any orders online. I really liked this! It made it so easy to order whenever you felt like it and to have separate checks in a group. The game librarian also introduced himself and was really helpful in picking games. And they have a LOT of games. I had an Old Fashioned which was very well-made and served with a good cherry and a big cube. I also had a grilled cheese and tomato soup. Both were delicious and I think I'm a little picky about both. The other nice thing about ordering online is you can see available upgrades/changes and any associated prices. Change to a bourbon I like better for $1? Sure! Add tomato to my grilled cheese (not charge)? Yes please! There are several parking lots and garages within a very short walk. All parking in this area is pay parking but it was cheap. I think I paid $6 for 3 hours. Will definitely be coming back to this one!

Yelp
We ordered the Fried Elote bites ,spinach and artichoke dip, latte( i dont remember which one we got), and the cold brew flight. Honestly, I would pass on the coffee. I've had their espresso martini before and that was probably my favorite drink. If you are going to get a cold brew ,then get the s'more one. The food is good as they are shareable and a great pairing when you're are there to play cards or board games. They have such a wide variety of games. I'm always learning how to play new games each time we visit. They are open late and the service was great. It is near ASU , so except to see a lot of college kids around. But if you're not someone who wants to go to the club but still wants to drink , then this is a good place to visit. Parking is not free but because we went later in the night we were able to park at the meters for free. We'll be visiting again for our next game nights date.

Yelp
Overall, an awesome concept! This is the perfect spot for a wholesome night out. For $6 you can rent board games during your visit. They have hundreds of games and even have a game librarian who provides you with insight on how to play games and can offer you suggestions on what game to play based on what you are in the mood for. They have a well priced happy house, large drink and food offering, and even offer "dice shots" where you roll a dice and whatever number it lands on determines what shot you get! To be honest you aren't coming here for the food, more as a spot to hangout. Tried the patty melt which was just okay, lacked some flavor. The BBQ chicken pizza was also average. The nachos were quite large but nothing special. Definitely recommend coming here with a group of friends for some casual fun. Interior is very inviting and a fun vibe!

Yelp
Service was great and they have a large game variety. The food was okay though I only had the club sandwich which I did like. I did try the mozzarella sticks and they were somehow already getting cold when they got to us so not the best. The drinks were also bad. I wasn't a fan of any of them and tried a few. However they have a great happy hour. Their best deals are probably their $3 mystery dice shot and their $7 draft beer pitchers. Overall it was a fun evening but not the best place to drink unless you plan to just do beer. The shots themselves were not great but they were cheap and it's a fun concept to roll the dice to pick what shot you'll get. The music was okay and the vibe was fine. But the food wasn't great and we weren't a fan of the drinks so it was a good one time thing.

Yelp
GREAT IF YOU NEED TO KILL TIME AND LIKE PLAYING GAMES. However, I thought that the price was a little overkill. It was $5 a person I think for 2 hours. This is the first place like this we have been to so maybe that is average? Not sure. But it wouldn't take that many times to visit to buy a game. There are A TON of games to choose from though so if you are a group that likes to play something different every time it is perfect. We thought the way you had to order on your phones is VERY confusing. We are all 29 so it is not like we are not used to technology either. You add it to a tab and then they immediately start making it. We thought you had to check out and then they bring it which makes so much more sense to me. Also, you add the game play onto your tab as well instead of just paying someone. It is a good idea but I don't think their app quite works good enough yet to have that be the only option. We really just wanted to order from a person after messing with the app. We had drinks. They were average and a desert which was also average.

Yelp
Resturant has great vibe and a bunch of fun games to choose from. Our server was good and attentive however you had to order food from your phone and pay immediately then rather than ordering through a sever. The bowl was okay but the curry was really good. Also pictured is a Paloma "bowl" which I thought was rather small and comparable to a single drink at other restaurants.

Yelp
Excellent service. The food is fantastic. The fact you can rent board games and hang out with a group is awesome.

Yelp
First time coming to check this place out. Great coffee and so many board games. They have a game Liberian there to help you find what you are looking for and even explain the rules if needed. I will be back soon with friends.

Yelp
This was our second visit this location - we tried it last spring and were underwhelmed. Went in today during the Tempe Arts Festival & it was terrific! Our server, Izzy, was friendly and our food came out quickly. Had a carnitas bowl & fried elote bites. Both were tasty. There were several tables around us playing board games and enjoying themselves.

Yelp
This place was awesome! Anyone in to board gaming or cards or anything in that non electrical, non digital department should run here. Staff were so friendly Ella was our home slice who chatted it up with us wile we waited for our drink. We were grateful for the conversation. This place was huge and beyond clean and tidy. The manager knew so much about every single game there it was wild. I got an iced mocha with oat milk and it was delicious and absolutely made with love. We plan on taking mini me back there for family game day. This place was an excellent find on our let's explore Az more tour that Sbl and I have been on for the past year.

Yelp
This is a great place to get to know a new person. The staff is very helpful when it comes to teaching about new board games. The layout its self is very spacious. There are not a lot of TV's to distract you from the people at your table. There is a need for improvement when it comes to the food. The Mozereall sticks ordered were not very fresh. For drinks and board games though, this is a great spot. You can spend a good half day here.
google avatar

Rachel E.

Yelp
I love the concept, but the food is incredibly underwhelming. Poutine was cold and cheese was rock hard. Pretzels and cheese were good but how can you mess that up? Mac & Cheese was fine but not great. Service is alright. Staff are friendly but it took a long time for our waters to get refilled and for one of our friends, who does not drink alcohol, it was a long time. Could be due to the QR code menu/payment system that eliminates some touch points with service. I keep hoping that the f&b will get better and it never does.

Yelp
I loved this place. I was strolling through Tempe one evening and needed some caffeine. Unfortunately everything was closed at the moment. Google Maps suggested this place as a great coffee house/bar with board games. I was intrigued and went to check it out. I came in and sat at the bar. There was a great crowd for Saturday night. Several groups were playing board games and waling around the bar. The bartender was super cool and gave me tons of suggestions. I decided to go with "The Great Pumpkin" drink. It was excellent. It had cold brew coffee, rhubarb liqueur, vodka, half and half, and pumpkin puree. It was an excellent pumpkin cold brew cocktail. I highly recommend it. In addition I used the Yelp coupon to get nachos and salsa. It came out quickly and was a great snack while I was there. Everyone was super friendly and great to talk to. I was able to make some new friends and play some board games. I loved the vibes here. I think I found my new favorite spot in Tempe.

Yelp
We had about an hour to kill until dinner so we popped in for a drink. Great local bar and eatery! Atmosphere is laid back and they have about 1,000 different board games and table games to play. Fun trivia nights too! 5/5 would recommend their Espresso Martini, it tasted homemade and not just from a can. Staff was great, too, friendly and quick service while we sat at the bar. We'll be back!
google avatar

Sam V.

Yelp
What a great atmosphere. It was busy, yet the service was attentive and helpful. There were some parties but we were still able to hear. Food was tasty and arrived pretty quickly. I'd definitely go back.
google avatar

Shelby S.

Yelp
A great atmosphere! Located on Mill ave., the building has an attached pay-per-hour parking lot which was convenient. We arrived around 5:30 on a Friday night, and it wasn't too busy yet - as the night went on though, the place was packed. The charge to play is $6 per person for unlimited board games - they even have employees around who know many of the games well and can offer suggestions. We landed on Catan, which took a good 90-minutes. Food and beverages can easily be ordered on your phone via a QR Code, and the service was very fast each time we ordered. Highly suggest going here for a game night/ birthday/ date night, etc.!

Yelp
Spacious cafe/bar w plenty of things to do. They have appetizers and drinks if you come with a group, or actual food if you're here for a meal. Tons of board games lining the walls too. This is just a fun place to be with a bar, better environment than just straight drinking. Staff was super kind and attentive. I didn't find the food to be outstanding, but if I were drunk and trying to win Apples to Apples I think it would be better. Nachos - I didn't like the cheese on these since it was the liquid kind of fake cheese that companies have to call "cheese flavored dairy product" because it's too insane to be cheese Elote bites - Eat this while it's warm, because it's really not that good cold. It's okay warm. I enjoyed the charred corn salad type bed it came on. Dipping sauce wasn't that good. Maybe this is something you need to order while drunk Fries - this was pretty good, came crispy and well seasoned. Didn't even need the ketchup unless you're really into that. Nutella latte - kind of expensive and it didn't end up tasting all that much like Nutella. Was recommended this but wouldn't get again. Espresso martinis - this was my first espresso martini but I know they can be better. Slightly taste the alcohol but still a pleasant drink

Yelp
My group of 5 came here on a whim. We wanted to celebrate my cousins birthday. They had a cool concept where it was $3 dice shots, you roll a 20 sided dice and try to guess what your shot is after tasting it. They also have plenty of board games available to use while you're enjoying your food and drinks. This place exceeded our expectations! You gotta bring your friends here for drinks and good time! Our server was very helpful during our time there! Must pay for Parking in the lot behind the restaurant.

Melissa S.

Yelp
I love the idea of this place! I'm a big game person, so this was really cool. Service was good even with how busy they were, food was decent but a little on the pricey side, with no real cheap options. If I was in college, I probably wouldn't eat here due to the pricing. I took a star off because something I absolutely hate is compulsory tipping. I want to determine my own tip, and was not happy when it didn't give me the option to leave a tip, but when I looked at the emailed receipt the next day I saw that they added their own tip. I also don't love the electronic ordering system which I think contributed to the timing of all of our food being really odd, and of course the weird tipping situation as well. Obviously the bad doesn't outweigh the good here for me though, I'd come back if I was in the area, but I might eat a meal elsewhere and just drink and play here.

Yelp
Stopped by for a weekday lunch (Mill was surprisingly calm) and had a great time! From the name I wasn't sure if there would be food but they had a full menu with burgers, salads, all kinds of American fare. Menus and ordering is all handled through a QR code at your table, which is convenient and mostly works well. The nachos were good but there was a paltry amount of poultry added for a $5 up-charge. Overall good experience! I'm sure this place is hopping in the evenings and I'll be back sometime when I have an open night
google avatar

Isabelle T.

Yelp
I came to snakes and lattes for a work event. We made a reservation ahead for a lunch weekday to accommodate our large party. This location was pretty central for us and seemed like a cool spot! Parking, you get either metered parking or the garage if you want something close. It was about $5 for me to park in the garage for exactly 2 hours. You get a text reminder when the meter will expire. The restaurant is large and they have lots of games. We didn't end up playing any since we were on company time. You order your food on an app and either keep the tab open or pay immediately. Our server helped us navigate this. Our food came out as it was ready. I just wanted something light so I got the hummus. It was fine. I ordered a chai latte with almond milk but it tasted like they added A LOT of sweetner. I wish they had given the option but I didn't know they would automatically add so much. I should also mention I am vegan, but forgot to ask if their chai had milk powder. Opps. For other vegan options they had disco fries and impossible burger. We might go back!

Yelp
I love coming here! It's super spread out so there is lots of space, the food and drinks are actually pretty good, and the staff is always kind and friendly which makes it easy to ask them for their favorite board game recs! I try to come visit with my husband or friends anytime I pass through Tempe!
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
I was not sure what to expect, I thought it was a coffee house like "friends" this was a cool spot that serves coffee, food, and has a full bar! I walked in at lunch there was just one bartender making the most amazing looking coffee drinks ( I don't drink coffee) but wow! I asked for something with Red Bull and she made me this epic concoctions alcohol free of course . I had the chicken sandwich and it was tasty! I will definitely be going back for round 2
google avatar

Erin H.

Yelp
Came here on Wednesday for trivia and luckily we were able to get a table for my large group. Apparently a lot of people RSVP for trivia night because they get so busy! To start, we ordered pitchers of cider for $25 and french fries which were covered in like cayenne and paprika (definitely slightly spicy/flavored). For our main food we ordered gluten free pizza and mac & cheese, and both were great! Was definitely impressed by the mac & cheese. My friend paid the extra three dollars for bacon add on, but there wasn't that much bacon to make it worth it. Our server was really friendly and it's a pretty cool place. There is street parking and also parking garages nearby.
google avatar

Daphne L.

Yelp
The drinks were delicious! I had a Nutella latte and my hubs had a coffee drink as well. Our guests had fruit drinks that they also enjoyed. We didn't eat but I really want to go back and play games! It's a great concept. They also have puzzle nights. I'm thinking take the light rail there on a weekend, hang out all afternoon with friends and play games, do puzzles and have cocktails next time. It's a great concept! The only thing that cost them one star was because we had a hard time with the phone app ordering, which is their preferred method of ordering. We aren't technologically challenged typically, and it just didn't work after trying it a few times. We ended up placing our order with the server, which was fine, but if they're going to push electronic ordering, it should work every time.

Yelp
Was in town for business and met up with a good friend (or mortal enemy, keep reading). We both like board games so like a true Yelper I searched for something central to both of us - and found this place. Came in on a Wed night with no reservations and they were able to accommodate - however I will note on this particular night it was their trivia night and it did get packed later in the hour, so I would actually try to make a reservation if you can. We sat and ordered food AND paid the game fee via QR code. (If you plan to play any games you need to pay their fee first before you can get up to grab a game or 2.) A very nice employee explained what the stickers on the boxes were (there are signs, you should look for them and read them - we did not do that because we're idiots) and helped us pick out 2 games to play. Unfortunately, due to my sickness at the time (legit excuse I swear) I lost 2x per game which my friend/mortal enemy likes to rub in my face...and I am admittedly not the most gracious loser...BUT the food was good. I had grilled cheese with tomato soup, and my friend had steak and fries. Both delicious and easy to eat while playing. Had a super fun and memorable time here! If I get a chance to come back one day, I will (if only to reminisce about my losses, haha) - otherwise I'll have the good memories to look back on! (Yeah, I pretty much reserved a place in my heart for this awesome place.)

Yelp
Good food. Nice kids. Fun atmosphere. Thanks very much people. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Yelp
Super fun place for groups or your next date night! great drinks as well, the two bartenders we super funny! ( Can't remember their names but i know they had the same name)

Yelp
This wasn't my first time at Snakes & Lattes but it was definitely my best. My 3 friends and I were filled up from the shareable nachos. Although they are a little more pricey than regular ones, definitely worth it for the quantity. I like the convenience of paying on your phone and paying for the game fee of $6per person isn't bad if you're planning to play board games for a while. We ended up staying for about 3 hours and loved: Booty Calls ( A guess Who, Charades style game) - Someone is the ghost and the everyone else is a medium. You want to use seance cards to get clues about which Ghost your friend is out of the cards on display. Dinosaur Tea Party (Guess who multiplayer) - This game is fun and a quick way to get started with something if you're looking to try an easier game that doesn't require too much reading Trivia nights are Wednesday and we always have a blast, you all should go!!!! P.s. big thanks to your game expert, they really helped pick some fun games for us!
google avatar

Mikey S.

Yelp
Great place for games and drinks, trivia on Wednesdays as well. I had the spicy fried pickles and the nachos with chicken, both were just OK. The nacho cheese and toppings were not distributed well and the pickles were average. Curious what the rest of their food tastes like, but regardless, I'll still frequent this spot for good drinks and games.
google avatar

Melanie N.

Yelp
Came here w friends for a night out and it was super fun! They don't charge extra to play the games, you just purchase a drink and can chill there as long as your group wants! Theres ample indoor and outdoor seating, along with lots of game options. I wish they had something like this in Orange County, hopefully they make their way to my area soon!
google avatar

Alexis B.

Yelp
I just moved to the area and I'm trying to find new spots to hangout. We decided to try Snakes & Lattes and I'm so glad we did! I love the concept of this place, we played so many different games and ended up staying for hours. We had so much fun- the food was tasty, coffee was delicious, and endless game options. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommend! Will be back soon with our friends! :)

Yelp
Someone in our family saw the favorable views so it was a "when in Rome" moment that we decided to hit it up (as we are out-of-towners). The first thing I liked upon arrival was the affordable parking. I lucked out and found an empty spot behind the eatery. I thought it'd be 'city prices' but not only was it affordable 'pay at the machine for a spot' but it was big enough for a large SUV. The inside felt inviting and there was an active vibe. There were table games available to play at your table and such. It's like an oversized coffee shop that serves cool meals. We had Nachos, Korean Fire Chicken and a Fried Chicken Sandwich with side dishes like a Fruit Plate and Mac and Cheese. The Southern Belle drink was good and the food was above decent-good. The Nacho Chips stood out as they were delightful, as was our server Hailey, who knew it was our first time in eating there and visiting Tempe, and gave us tips and places to go. We had a good time. Great for groups and non-groups alike!

Diana A.

Yelp
I seen this place in a few Pinterest blogs, so I definitely wanted to take a look at this place when I was in town. I came in with the coworker and we had a few lattes and enjoyed a fun game of trouble. It was a great place to catch up on a little bit of work, as well as having food and drinks. we don't have something like this in Sacramento where I came from but I sure wish they did. Customer service and all around fun place to be. My family would love it here!
google avatar

Lara S.

Yelp
This place is fabulous for board gamers - or even normies ;) It's a bar and cafe but you can also just go to play board games. It was $6 per adult to play unlimited games. It's a very spacious restaurant with lots of tables. The tables are regular-sized which is a little difficult to play board games and eat on at the same time. Not the end of the world. They have a huge selection of games. It's awesome if you want to try a new game before buying it. The staff was friendly and attentive. They even have a game master who helped us learn the rules of El Dorado quickly. He was also willing to recommend new games that we might enjoy. For food and drinks, we got the pretzels. I'm not usually a fan of Bavarian style pretzels but these were surprisingly good! We also got a hot chocolate and an upside down pineapple mocktail. My fiance said the hot chocolate was not very good but my mocktail was yummy (even though it was 99% just pineapple juice). He always drinks a lot of water and he really appreciated that the servers dropped off a pitcher of water (which they had to refill/switch 3 times!!). For dessert we had the cookie skillet with ice cream. This was yummy, as expected. We love board games, so when we heard that this place exists, we knew it would most likely be a go-to place for us. We were right, we will definitely be back.

Yelp
This is the first time we've come here since Z'Tejas closed in the same location. It just didn't appeal much to us since we are older and this seemed to cater to a younger crowd. My first impression was underwhelming (the restroom and bathroom stall doors could use some attention) and I honestly did not even feel like staying or giving the restaurant a try. That is until our waitress, Sarah, came over. She explained the ordering system which we did not like (again, since we're older), so she then brought us real menus. Sarah was SOOOO incredibly kind and friendly that I knew immediately I wanted to stay and give the restaurant a try. She gave us traditional restaurant service (instead of using our phones and QR code) and shared some of her favorite recommendations. We tried the 6th Street Burger (DELICIOUS!!!) and we had the chocolate chip cookie desert (yummy). Sarah was so amazing that we made sure to tell the manager, Alex, about our experience. Here I was getting ready to leave before even giving it a try and now because of Sarah, the delicious food, and outgoing staff, we will be sure to come back and may even try some games next time. They have a game librarian...how cool is that!? Friendly, helpful staff score big points with us every time. GREAT EXPERIENCE...completely unexpected and wonderfully surprising!

Yelp
I was so excited to go to this restaurant. We (table for 2) went on a Saturday morning and were seated immediately. Restaurant was about half full. I submitted my order at 10:55 am (via the app you use to order) I didn't receive my drink from the bar until 12:15 and my food at 12:30. When i asked what was happening and asked if i had not submitted my order correctly, i was told they needed to wash dishes. So we waited and waited. Meanwhile three tables were served the mimosa flight that i had also ordered but ordered before them. Once again, i was told they needed to wash dishes because they didn't have any clean glasses for the flights. I just saw them being served... what? My food was okay. My Korean poutine was ice cold by the time i got it. The cheese curds were straight out of the fridge. It took me almost another 30 min before the waitress walked by again so i could tell her but by that time, we needed to go because of plans. We never received refills on water, I wanted ranch but never got the chance to ask for it until it was time to go. We counted 7 tables seated after us that were served, ate, and left while we waited. We were going to a play at 2pm right down the road and thought 2.5 his was more than enough time to grab lunch. Wrong. The game master was nice. The decor is cute. Lots of games to choose from. That's it. That's all i got. I won't go back.

Yelp
We went over the weekend and had a great time. They have an excellent selection of food and games. All ordering is done through your phone which makes things easy so you can do it around game play. Plus all of the food is excellent and the servers were still quite attentive despite a non-traditional ordering process.

Yelp
5 star review for Isaiah. So accommodating and made the outing just incredible. He got us seated on the shaded part of the patio after we had been asked to move because they weren't seating that side. He took it upon himself to serve us even though it was out of his way. He was extremely attentive and checked in on us regularly. Had great recommendations for us for beverage and food. The mimosas are just incredible and such an amazing draw. So many juice options. We had the burrito and quesadilla which were both really good. I'd recommend the burrito if deciding between the two. Isaiah actually came out at just the right moment and asked if we wanted the sun shades down. It must have cooled our corner down by 15 degrees. Such amazing service by him. So appreciative.

Yelp
Limited menu due to Tempe Festival of the Arts. I wanted mozzarella sticks but unfortunately was told they were out of them. Great dog friendly patio with lots of seating options. My chicken pita wrap was a little hard to eat and fell apart. Decent flavor though. Great location just off of Mill Ave in Tempe.

Yelp
This place is really cool! It's a combination delicious group food and board games. I heard from my friend that this place would be great for our group of 6 friends to hang out at and after this experience, I totally agree. When we first entered the place, we were greeted by the waiter and were taken to our tables. The fact that each QR code is tied to a specific table was pretty neat. So my group of buddies all scanned their QR codes and started ordering food for the group and it was a lovely feast for the 6 of us. I did feel like the UI of the menu on our phones were a little weird to navigate and there were some issues with some of our friends where they couldn't connect their card to the website at first, but after some time, those issues were taken cared of. We got two fried chicken sandwiches w/fries, 2 servings of Korean BBQ Chicken Poutine, 1 serving of flatbread pizza, 2 servings of soft pretzels, and 1 BLT. The food was great. I couldn't find any complaints from the food. On top of that, I loved the fact that you can play games. It's just $6 per person and you can play any games for the entirety of your stay. Best part is that this place hires people to just explain the rules of the game. So we played Betrayal on a House on a Hill and it was a blast. It was a great bonding experience for all of us and everything was just perfect. After everything was over, we were able to easily split the check on our phones with ease. Overall, I give this place 5 stars. Everything felt clean, the service was good, the wait wasn't as bad, the food was good, and on top of that we got to play board games. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Seemed like a really good place to hang out with friends or a date! Seems like you need to make a reservation though. I sat by the bar... because nobody plays board games at the bar

Yelp
My boyfriend told me about this board game cafe from Toronto, so I was shocked to see they had a location near ASU too. Huge brunch menu and a wide selection of games! It's $6 a person for unlimited play. For food, I recommemd their appetizers! Among my friends, the mac n cheese, artichoke spinach dip, and pretzels were a hit. Great for sharing. They also had poutine here, which I was excited for. The gravy is on the sweet side and the fries were great. Not as good as Canada though. We initially came here because we wanted bottomless mimosas, but don't be fooled! It's not bottomless! They give free juice refills, but only ONE BOTTLE of champagne per order. So you basically mix the mimosas yourself. For 4 of us, $20 was not a bad deal... however, we really wanted bottomless mimosas. This was pretty misleading. (Side note: the mango mimosa was the best flavor).

Yelp
We tried out Snakes & Lattes based on the recommendation of some friends. We found ourselves with some free time Sunday night... and we are so glad we did! The food was quick and spot on, the beers were cold and not crazy prices, and the game selection was on point! Josh, the game guru, served up three awesome recommendations and we played all three! It was a great experience and I am so glad we finally went. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
We were around downtown and wanted to just hangout with friends on a lazy afternoon. We went by and the place was filled with students and other Gen z crowd. There are innumerable of board games and it's $6 per person. If you are into one and want to play all day, definitely worth it. We were there just for couple of hours. The menu is simple, it's coffees, beers, cafe food and shareable. Super simple to order with the QR code. We went with latte, bruschetta, poutine, spinach and artichoke dip. The coffee tasted really good. The bruschetta had too much vinegar and wasn't that great, I wouldn't order it. The poutine was decent too. We really liked the spinach and artichoke dip. The portion size is really good and served us all well. Overall a good hangout place, but I wasn't happy with the taste of the food. Might go back again to try something else but for now, will take a break!

Yelp
The place as a whole is really cute! The marquee letters in the entrance are really cool and they have board games on every end of the restaurant )must pay $6 per person to play the games). You order food through your phone - must scan barcode located on table and then a server/runner brings you, your food and drinks. The food was average nothing out of the ordinary, same with drinks (don't order the the purple lady tastes like couch syrup). Also, the service is not that great- the waiting time for food and drinks is just not reasonable. It's cool place to check out but won't be back.

Yelp
There is something for everyone; food, coffee, beer, cocktails and let's not forget all the games. Dom was our game librarian and his suggestions were spot on! There are plenty of games for two players which makes this a perfect date night.
