Best Restaurants in Richmond, Virginia, America’s Next Great Restaurant-Obsessed Town | Bon Appétit

"Alewifemay be new to Richmond, but chef-owner Lee Gregory isn’t. After gaining a loyal following for his command of the kitchen at the neighboring Roosevelt, Gregory returned to his first love: sustainable seafood. The air in Gregory’s East End outpost is tinged with the vapor of fried fish, and every table is humming with chic people in high-waisted denim and ethically sourced sweaters drinking heady cocktails and working their way through small plates and whole-fish entrées." - ByStephanie Ganz

Love the freshly prepared food. You can tell that the chicken, fish, and side ingredients weren't sitting under a heating bulb for hours. Friendly staff. Highly recommended by Dr. I. Brown.

May 18, 2024.....Weber Point in Stockton, CA, today is a good day. The Stockton Flavor Fest brought several vendors, food trucks, and well-doers out for a weekend of good times, good music and good food. Snapper's Seafood provided their food, and it needs to be said, your service is appreciated, however........if you wanted a donation, just ask. The food was so high priced for what they offered. In total $45.00 (not including tip 🤨). Definitely not worth that amount, which takes away the enjoyment of the meal. I'm all for helping out the business, but this is asking a lot. To make it even more sad, the food wasn't really that good. Sorry, just being truthful. C'mon Snappers, at events like this.....please do better for the people.

Google
The food is good but his attitude sucks and he need to fix his own prices. It’s a shame when the only thing we have in Richmond is Mexican food and the only American restaurant he gotta be the rudest and meanest then he needs to know who his speaking and mistreating. Fix your own damn website sir

First time here today. Great Southern food! I ordered the whiting and fries combo with a side of medium macaroni and cheese. The fries were sliced fat; offering a slight crisp which I prefer. The fish has a thick batter that was well seasoned. The side of tartar sauce and hot sauce complimented the taste. My friend had the same order except with the catfish, which was very tasty. Service was great. The owner was very helpful and took the time to know us as we sat and enjoyed the food. The potions are big! I’ll definitely be back.

Google
This place has gone down You used to be able to walk in to order and sit outside to eat. You literally have to open the door to order from the front which is blocked off by 2 chairs and a kiosk and you can't order over the phone anymore which is bad business Me and a friend went in today the guy said he was out of alot of things especially fish. We walked out and never returned. Y'all need to get it together

Google
Excellent soul food selection. Snapper, catfish and fried chicken with delicious sides of collard greens, rice and beans, french fries and hush puppies. But the greatest surprise was the delicious, delicate and very lightly huge fried oysters, were to die for. Portions plenty with all the sauces and corn bread. Everything thoughtfully packaged. We will go back and eat again and again.

Google
This place is amazing. Every time I take my first bite. I always mutter, “I love this place!” I get the basa with macaroni and potato salad. Totally worth the 2.5 hour drive. The seasoning and crisp of the basa is perfect. I definitely recommend

Google
The fried fish is spot on. My go to dinner is the fried snapper and the fried prawns. The fried fish and fried prawns are the best I've tasted in the Bay Area. Note, gotta love the fact that they make their greens without pork.

Yelp
After trying the food in this restaurant, ai was amazed. I totally liked the seafood this restaurant made. The food was well cooked, well fresh. The restaurant has great service as well. When I ordered online, they called me that the food is ready. My wife and I definitely enjoyed the food from this restaurant. We definitely made the right choice ordering here, and we definitely would like to order here again. I strongly recommend to give this restaurant a try. Thank you New Snapper's Seafood Restaurant!

Yelp
Honestly I am a bit alarmed and surprised by all the bad reviews here. 3.5 stars for me. I had the fried catfish with 2 sides for the discounted promo online on Seamless for ~$16. Online ordering was easy and the food was prepped quickly around 6:30 pm on a weekday, I received a personal call from the staff when it was ready. I liked that the cornmeal batter was not too thick like other places, but I would've liked the pieces to be fewer and bigger rather than in thin strips but I guess it depends on the size of the fish. The fish was fried fresh and the tartar sauce was good, albeit in two tiny containers. I had the beans and rice and coleslaw as my two sides. I did wish the sizes were bigger, they were in big "condiment" containers and even smaller than Popeyes' regular sides. I did really liked the flavor in both sides. The beans and rice was more dry like Popeyes instead of being super watery at a lot of Southern places. The coleslaw had a few raisins in it and I actually thought it added a nice sweetness to the coleslaw.

Yelp
The owner and employees were friendly but when you walk in to order. Their kitchen or appearance of the front desk does not look sanitary. The food was also not friendly to our stomachs. One of our friends was fortunate not to get food poisoning as she got fried shrimp and catfish. My boyfriend and I ate the chicken tenders, chicken wings and fried basa fish. My boyfriend and I were throwing up violently for 4 hours straight. We were in a lot of pain and felt like we couldn't breathe. We both are still recovering. We have diarrhea since Monday evening. Our stomaches are both still sensitive and hurts. We did not plan to get sick the night before Christmas eve nor still be sick on Christmas. This was not a pleasant Christmas gift. 4 days later, I lost 4 lbs and still find it difficult to eat without my stomach feeling uncomfortable with gasses. My friend assumed their fish or chicken was not stored properly or undercooked. I'm all about supporting small businesses but I will never eat at this restaurant ever again with the experience I had. I was throwing up, crying from the pain, and feeling chills. I regret asking my friends to try this restaurant as it almost cost a trip to the hospital. Be aware of this restaurant. Friendly service but not friendly to the stomach.

Yelp
I was in the mood for soulfood for lunch. So I ordered seafood 3way with catfish, prawns and oysters. The sides were Mac and cheese and yams. The Mac and cheese was very mushy and not fresh. The fish was ok but dry. The oysters were ok. The yams were the saving grace. As expensive as my meal was I was disappointed.

Yelp
The Snapper Seafood is my favorite places for Fish and Chicken . I highly recommend this place. The service is spot on! The prices are very reasonable too!

Yelp
I gave them two stars for making the fried foods fresh to order (although I didn't perceive the same for the sides) and for packaging the food so it doesn't touch - I know that's important to some folks. I do think that the best thing we had were the wings and even those had something weird going on spice-wise. The waffle was nasty- it had a savory thing going on rather than a sweet one. It also came with Smuckers syrup which always tastes artificial and super processed- something that may be more appreciated by kids and teenagers. The fact that there is an up charge for macaroni and cheese and yams is crazy- especially because the macaroni didn't seem like it was made that day and it was bland. The yams tasted like they may be from a can- neither side is worth the up charge so skip both if you're on the fence about it. I was so disappointed with the amount of money my boyfriend spent at this place considering the food we got. I ultimately couldn't get through my food and he got through half of his before calling it quits, which is out of the norm because he usually doesn't waste food. I'm all for supporting small businesses so check them out for yourself if you're in the mood to try something new. If you're hungry and want a better quality of food for your money then there are better options if you drive to Emeryville or Oakland.

Yelp
It's been on point every time I've had it! Will be back! Fried basa, catfish, yams, and potato salad were a must for me.

Yelp
Had the food yesterday at outside lands in San Francisco from the mobile truck I would not recommend I can do better myself the fries were soft and bland and the fish was under cooked I tried to support black business but they hella weak
google avatar

Yelp
It pains me to have to write a poor review for a Black-owned small business. Recession aside, the portion sizes are way too small. I ordered the "lunch" and ended up with a "snack." Really wish I had something better to say. Fish is well prepared but just not a good value for $16 bucks and some change.

Yelp
What is that 3 Stars? That's the average from the 4 times I've had food from Snapper's brick and mortar location. The first time was excellent. This was pre-Pandemic. Service was friendly. You place the order at the register. Service in this setting is are you greeted, are questions welcomed and answered clearly? Yes to those and all surfaces were very clean and I liked that they had local Richmond reading materials. The second time was also late afternoon on a weekday and the employee was slightly ill-tempered, but the food hot and well-seasoned. Catfish and snapper were fresh with a good crisp fry. Collards on second visit are over salted. Third visit was right after general lockdown. Employee acted like she didn't want to be there. Things weren't as clean as on earlier visits. Wait was longer than in the past, they were out of some things. Weekday afternoon. After that we went with delivery. That was the worst. Snapper had been cooked much too long. Dried out. Collards had too much salt and too much vinegar, Nothing was right. I put off writing this because think it's an important Richmond business. So, why am I writing all this now? Because lately I've been looking at their IG and I think the truck looks like a sure shot. The owner does updates from the truck. Maybe things are better at the brick and mortar now also, I have not been back. The truck looks like a must try and it's parked near The Factory bar fairly often according to their IG. A cold beer with the Snapper's menu when it's on point WTG.. The owner was doing free sample mini fried fish sandwiches, sliders, last week at The Factory last week and those looked great on IG. We're going to give them a try again,

Yelp
Honestly 2 stars was me being nice, the workers were nice and the kid taking my order was sweet. This was my first time at this establishment and it wasn't really all that compared to other spots I've been to around the bay, i thought why not give this place a shot since I'm a local so support local businesses of course, and I was pretty disappointed with some of the dishes we got. First, the sides were trash, the greens were bitter and had no flavor tasted like they just boiled it in water and threw it in the container no amount of hot sauce could save it, the mac n cheese does not look like the photos on yelp it was definitely thumbs down, tasted like literal elbow noodles with melted cheese on it, no flavor what so ever. We got the clam chowder, it was watery and flavorless and was legit milk mixed with potatoes and clams. The chicken wings were okay, the texture was great Ill give them that, it had the right crunch and it wasn't dry but lacked that flavor, i had to cover my whole chicken wing in hot sauce to actually enjoy it. Now what they did do right was their fried prawns with that sweet sauce and hot sauce mix, so ill give them that. The red snapper was alright slightly overcooked so it was a bit dry we obviously had to get extra cajun seasoning on both which I'm glad we did since everything else was lacking in seasoning. So yes thats my honest opinion on the dishes we got, I would say forget the sides and just get the fish or prawns itself with extra cajun seasoning. Their prices have definitely increased from whats on yelp so pretty much the combos were over 20$, I understand inflation is an economic problem currently but if you guys are going to charge that much for your dishes the quality and taste should meet what your customers are paying. Expect to pay a lot for food where the taste isn't worth the price, most likely won't be coming back.

Yelp
I was craving some greens today, so I decided to go to snapper's seafood. Their online portal was glitching so I drove to the restaurant to order. Their menu listed a side of greens at $7.99; however, once ordered, I was told the total was $10.94. WTF!!! For a side of greens? The waiter points to a sign which said something about "price increases", so I asked why their printed menu doesn't reflect the correct price. No response. At that point, I let him know how they makes it hard for people to want to support their business, but I went ahead and bought the greens anyway. Soooo, I The greens were gross, gross , gross AF. I immediately spat them out. The greens had a weird/old taste, and lacked any season. To the trash they go! Their service, prices, and food is terrible! I would neverrrrr spend another penny here.

Yelp
I want buy a large Yam, but they would gave sample taste. The red bean and rice is too small and not the good. Taste and looks like baby food. After playing $137.00 for 5 meals with tips.

Yelp
"Delicious" my grandma said when I asked how the party wings and fries she ordered were. Just as excellent was the Whiting and fries that I ordered. The coating of both remained crispy, even after being kept in the warmer while our food waited for us to pick it up. The Whiting was very moist and tasty...and with the crispy fried coating, I couldn't wait to write this review. Since we ordered in person for lunch, the wait was 40 minutes. We went for a walk in point Richmond just down Ohio Ave but when we came back the food was ready to go. Would definitely recommend. Will update once I order delivery in the future. Professional staff, made sure we had all the sauces we needed for our order. Nearly everything was environmental, in regards to the to go containers. Practically all paper, except the 2 plastic bags carrying everything. I assume the moisture and weight of the food would be too much for paper so no work around there. Then just the sauces were served in tiny plastic cups/pouches. Even the straws were paper though, which were given with canned sodas. This is great because you never know what warehouse those could've come from.

Yelp
He was my first time here I found a flyer at the tire shop I went I ordered the oxtail dinner with mac & cheese and yams the oxtails had no seasoning on them it was for little ones my son got the chicken strip lunch The chicken strips were good the fries wedges wedge potatoes with no seasoning you can even see the sweet seasoning on them just plain potato the cornbread was dry and fell apart my first and my last time here $45 waste it I could've gone somewhere else

Yelp
Customer service sucks I haven't had their food in some years but I just called and was told to order online and quickly ushered off the phone The website has some issues - the prawns dinner didn't allow us to choose the (2) sides, only Cajun seasoning and lemon slices . So we called back to figure out what the sides were and what to do so we're not charged extra if we add additional side orders and the man said "that's not my department. I don't ha see that side . It should say it in the website -but if not- I don't know what to tell you." Welllll that's not helpful. Guess you don't want business. Bye I can't stand difficult businesses with poor customer service and websites insufficient for online ordering

Yelp
My dad ordered a "sandwich" from this place and this is a photo of everything he received in his to-go bag. You be the judge.

Yelp
Recently took a trip over to Richmond to try out some seafood and fried chicken from Snappers Seafood from the recommendation of some friends. They advised I need to do a review on their food. So Recently pulled up and decided to give my take on their food. I ordered Catfish & Chicken Wing Plate with Red Beans & Rice and Mac N Cheese. Red Beans & Rice 3.5/5: Rice n Beans was solid and very tasty. It didn't knock me off my feet but I was very satisfied and would recommend the side to anyone that has a taste for it. I would have wanted it to be a little Spicer but that's just me. Mac & Cheese 3/5: TBH the Mac n cheese was ok. It wasn't bad but it was not great. It was just okay. I will say after having Mac n Cheese from Minnie Bells its gonna be hard to knock it out the park for me. The bar is set really high. But the side wasn't trash or what I would say whack n cheese because if it was ordered for me again I would eat it. Catfish 4/5: Nice size Catfish pieces, that were crispy yet tender and very flavorful. Highly recommend on my suggestion list if u happen to pull up to this establishment. Chicken Wings 4/5: Also a winner Winner Chicken dinner in my book. Nice size wings and drummets. Seasoned well , spicy but nothing unbearable. Highly recommend as well. Overall great food, dope service and enjoyed talking with the staff and everything. Even the cook came outside to ask me if I enjoyed the food while shooting my food review

Yelp
The Food Was Good But The Service Left A Bad Taste In My Mouth! I was instructed to order online. The restaurant gave a pickup time of 3:15 PM, I arrived around 2:45 PM I kept refreshing to see if the pickup time had been updated. By 2:53 PM there weren't any updates so I decided to call and the male that answered the phone said he'd been trying to call me but was unable to reach me. I let him know that I'd been waiting outside but they never refreshed the pick up time. I walked to the window and I heard one male say to the other "yeah she's a bi***" I responded by saying excuse me, are you talking to about me. He said "oh no I'm talking about this lady that just called about her order". I let him know that was me on the phone and that he was very unprofessional for calling out my name and for the record i'm not a bi*** your company should've updated the pickup time so that we know when it's ready. I was furious and felt violated.

Yelp
This place is BOMBB. It was recommended by my roommate since I'm new to the area and its right around the corner from me. The two item combo was perfect for my boyfriend and I & we still have leftovers. Definitely my new fast food takeout spot! The red snapper was a liiitle over cooked, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. The prawns were perfect! The mac and cheese was proper flavor and consistency! I added salt and pepper personally but only because i eat it separately, it would have been perfect if you eat it all together. The greens were properly balanced. I hate when they taste tooo much like baked beans, these ones aren't too sweet. The French fries are steak fries cooked proper. We will definitely be back to try the catfish and salmon.

Imelda R.

Yelp
The meat loaf i ordered was like a gravy out of a can for $21 i paid looked like a Santa Rita jail meal bot please did not touch any of it red beans was unseasoned and smoochy nasty. Food has truly changed and it gets a 0 ZERO
google avatar

Janet B.

Yelp
I scheduled an order and it came 45 minutes early. I scheduled it for a reason, now I'm eating cold fried fish. Driver called me 3 times to tell me he is on his way? Why? I am declining your calls since I am working, and I'm not picking up a call with no caller ID. Use the GrubHub text feature. Side portions for a $25 meal were two tiny cups. about 1/2 to 2/3 of a cup.
google avatar

Crystal M.

Yelp
Expensive plate for little portions Mac and cheese was dry n the greens was sweet. The cooks n servers was nice
google avatar

Georgina C.

Yelp
The food was terrible, it's seemed he upcharged for greens which were a random mix of green beans and what seemed to be old greens. Everything was extremely salty, from the greens to the fried oysters to the potato salad. Portions were small. There was what seemed to be the most flavorless batter ever and was super grainy on both the salmon and oysters. two plates were 50 dollars which is outrageous for such a small salty amount. Please don't waste any money here i would have rather went to long John silvers.

Yelp
Lived local my whole life and never ate here before so figured why not. The good sir called me up to confirm my order which I really did appreciate it, makes it more personal and upon arrival place looks like it was going to live up to the food and sure it did. The catfish and prawns were just great and I really loved the portions I feel it is very fair. Everything just worked and stand out strong on their own and made a delicious meal that filled. Now I'll be dreaming about this one

Yelp
This group of people are rude. How do you mix up a door dash order: Kept my food order and expected my driver to bring the food back to them. All he spoke about was cost. You shouldn't make costly mistakes like mixing up orders. The 2nd star is for my first order from this place. This problem is still in mind weeks later. Won't order from here again.
google avatar

Bob J.

Yelp
Friendly and communicative young man taking orders. Good first impression for the establishment. Interior is small with uncomfortable patio style furniture. I'd recommend to-go. Parking okay on the street but all parallel, if you can handle that. I was there at night so can't comment on the quality of the neighborhood, but it seemed a notch up from JJs. Food, according to my picky wife was "perfect." Her catfish was indeed light, crispy and with well-seasoned breading. My oysters were also good but a bit damp after getting sloshed in juice from the greens. Greens very good but a little too many stems for my liking. Yams very good and sweet but not too sweet. 41$ for two, including canned soda, was a bit high. But we decided worth-it for the quality. Prices on the menu behind the counter were lower than we paid, which was the price on the menu on the counter. Difference being number of sides? Not sure. Only other disappointments were, no black-eyed peas (only on Sunday) and no cornbread muffin as shown on the menu. Doughy store bought bread instead. Not enough to deduct a star for a great meal. Recommended

Yelp
They really always come through. I normally only get lunch combos as I'm very picky about my sides. Today I went on a limb and everything was just perfect, delivered fast, fresh and hot. It was all very tasty.

Yelp
When I'm in the Area , this place is always 1st on my list ... ( although they did Me Bad on the Wait time the last time I was there ) Over a Hour . But Now that I think about it , the Cook & Counter Guy did try to make it Right once I opened my order when I made it to Vallejo . So yeah, they still first.! When I want some fish, oysters or prawns, with rice and gravy

Yelp
Ordered for the first time on DoorDash. Food was still warm. I ordered the family sized chicken wings meal that came with 5 sides. I chose hush puppies (blah), macaroni (macaroni salad not cheese. Yummy!), red beans (no flavor at all), coleslaw (I mean it's coleslaw ) and fries (which was about 10 fries hidden under the chicken) The chicken was okay nothing special, adding hot sauce made it better. The amount of wings was good for the price but the size of sides really upset me . I mean if I'm ordering a family meal wouldn't the sides be bigger? Idk. Picture attached below. Alright for first time but I'll stick to JJS.

Danielle B.

Yelp
I've heard so many good reviews re:this restaurant over the years. How good the food is & how long the restaurant has been opened, beating out so many other competitors. Well, I finally decided to give them a try for the first time & sadly that'll be my last time. I'm truly not sure what all of the hype is about. The customer service was about a 6. The food on the other hand was a joke. I ordered a catfish dinner w/fries and a macaroni salad. Didn't know that I would pay almost $20 for the kids meal. Turn off #1. It was catfish nuggets or pieces. Not a fillet, but they had cut up the fish into little pieces. Ugh!! Turn off #2. My side of fries came w/all of 8 steak fries, that was cold. Turn off #3. The macaroni salad had good flavor, however it was warm. I thought macaroni salad was suppose to be cold. Also, my husband ordered some hush puppies, that we're oh so dry. Needless to say, I was EXTREMELY disappointed w/the whole experience. Will not EVER go back. Totally confused about what all the hype is over. I'll stick w/the Boulevard on Cutting. Love them

Yelp
If you are looking to be amazed this place will not disappoint, everything we sampled was delicious and I recommend you have everything we ordered. Here is a breakdown of everything we sampled and how all of it faired The catfish nuggets - piping hot, crunch on every bite, flavored with slight kick, delicious, must try The oxtail dinner plate - I came for this dish specifically, it is one of the better representations I had of this dish, fall off bone tender, juicy, saucy, paired with yams and collared greens perfect dish, must try The basa - deep fried lightly seasoned lighter fish, never had this type of fish before and now it will not be the last time I try it, also a must try The salmon dinner - quartered sliced salmon, deep fried, more dense of the other fish I have tried at this place also a must try, served piping hot, outer crunch, more of a dense middle pairs well with yams and mac n cheese cornbread - slightly dense, flavor is good We ate in, the staff is super friendly and helpful, not gonna like gonna have to come back and sample more of their offerings food ***** sample everything price $$ service ***** ambiance **** small, 2 small tables seat 2 -5 if combined and bar section possible 4-6 people

Fun D.

Yelp
Please stop getting over on the black community over charging us as people no way I'll should be paying 20+bucks on 3 pieces of fish and 25+bucks on small sides that's just unfair and wrong we spending are hard working money small portion undercooked

Yelp
FYI: I'm writing this as I'm eating my food . First time Patriot I order a 2 way combo (snapper, chicken strips , greens , Mac n cheese , add on yams. Greens are fresh and flavorful, yams are perfectly cooked not to sweet , Mac n cheese creamy not greasy . First let me get the cons : only one thing the chicken strips are small other then that a perfect review .. let me tell you I grew up with both parents who Migrated from the golf of Mississippi I know good food ..this good soulful food . I trek from East Oakland to have lunch here and I'm already planning my return visit.

Yelp
We were out in Richmond doing some weekend shopping, and decided to check out Snapper's, which had been recommended by a friend. I always love legit soul food, and upon arrival I knew we were in for a treat. The location isn't great, but it's easy to get to and the street parking was ample. The interior dining area isn't fine dining, but it is exactly what you are looking for in a down home soul food type of place. A couple small tables with folding chairs of the lawn variety, a small bar with stools and all your hot sauce needs, and a counter to order from. The folks working were very friendly, and we ended up there on "Soul Food Sunday," which afforded us some unique options. I went with the oxtails, dressing, red beans and rice, and Mac and cheese. Everything was good, but the red beans and rice would do well with a little andouille sausage thrown in. The oxtails were stand out - delicious, tender, falling off the bone. That alone was worth the trip! My wife had the chicken strip dinner, which was tasty, and the greens that accompanied it were perfect. Both also came with a huge hunk of cornbread and butter. Drink options are legit too - Kool Aid in a styrofoam cup? Yes! There was a little room for improvement on the Mac and cheese and the red beans and rice, hence four stars. The crowd was friendly, but let's be honest, we were the odd couple that stuck out like a sore thumb, so if you aren't keen on Nation of Islam newspapers and a pro Farrakhan bend, might be best to get it to go or delivered. Didn't try the desserts but they looked tasty!

Yelp
Okay, don't let the exterior fool ya! The food I had was excellent! I got a combo of catfish /snapper & red beans rice & Mac n cheese. Mac was standard, not bad. But not great. The Snapper was jerky! Not sure how that happens but typically I'm a fan of snapper. This is what I paid $25 for this combo. The catfish was TASTY & cooked to perfection! And OMG the beans... not gonna lie it looked different than I anticipated but the TASTE .... hella good. I'll go back just for those beans . Despite the things I didn't like: #1 the wait (I was late to my volunteering) & The aforementioned, I will be back when I'm in the area! And I ate everything! I know, I'm a glutton. But it was like 2 meals for me. The cashier & tall guy were nice & the waiting music was nice as well. 4 stars

Yelp
I was rolling in my Donk back from Wood acre and I was passing thru Richmond. I had a Craving for Catfish!!! I rolled to Snappers . I was able to Park right in front on the street. I rolled in and Perused the Menu Board . This is where I met Jabari one of the Owners Family Members that has been working at Snappers since he was 16 . I ordered the Catfish Dinner with Upgraded Sides - Candied Yams and Mac and Cheese . 15 Minutes later I had my food . I Grabbed one of the 2 Tables and Chilled Out and Grubbed out . The Warriors - OKC Game was on and it was a Burner !!! The Catfish was cooked Southern Style in Cornmeal and to Perfection . The Catfish was nice and Tender and the Tartar Sauce is Home made . The Candied Yams was a nice change and had a nice consistency . It was a Sweet Treat . The Mac and Cheese was Thick , Creamy and Cheesy !!! Jabari was a great Host and asked me how I found Snappers . Yelp of Course LOL. Jabari mentioned a lot of his Customers say that. I also Ordered a 5 Chicken Wing and Fries Special for a Midnight Snack . Later that evening , I Munched on that Chicken Wing Meal it was very Good !!! Snappers has an interesting Décor !! Very Seafood Oriented !! I like their Bear Welcome Statue !! It brought a Smile to my Face . Theirs also a Small LCD TV for Entertainment and 2 Tables to Dine In . Restroom is for Customers Only . Snappers Seafood Restaurant is a Baller On A Budget Approved Establishment !!!

Yelp
Ok I guess once is the charm at this place. Went back two days later and boy I am never going back again. I purchased the sole dinner and this time everything went down hill. The sole was not seasoned like the first time. The 2 guys the cook and some big little boy were there and they suck worst than the fish. Like I said ordered sole fish dinner so that is about 8-10 pieces of fish and I couldn't believe that dumb and dumber gave me one hot sauce when I asked for more dumb the cook told me no. Dumber tell me they are four for a dollar. What?? I cursed both these dummies out and I will never eat here ever again. You try to patronize your own people and this is how they treat you in will go to a business that treat there customers with respect. Then I spoke to another bubble head he tell me check your bag before you leave.what!! for hot sauce. I will tell anybody I knew not to eat here because they do not know how to treat their customers wish this restaurant would have closed down for good during the pandemic but what comes around goes around and it just might.. The boy I talk to on the phone wrote me this "don't come back no more keep going we talked on the phone and you go to the Internet like a big child. But did you resolve anything with me with your country arise Ugh I got a customer waiting is what you stated if you don't know how to run a business. You should have taken my information and called me back that is called customers service since you don't know I just gave you some free information. Some black well, you are the reason I spend my money elsewhere What you need to do is close down shop take your whole crew and find an etiquette course 101 on how to learn how to treat the consumer.

Yelp
Authentic soul food with a great frying batter! We tried the catfish and snapper and although I preferred the catfish, if you prefer a more fishy flavor go with the snapper. The yams available on Sunday is great, but not a fan of the macaroni and tuna salad. The cornbread is a little dry, and not served with butter or anything to soften it up. Service is slower because they make each order fresh, but it's worth the 20-25 minute wait.

Yelp
I was happy to find this establishment through Yelp and even got more excited when I learned they offered delivery Within in a few mins of putting in my order online it was delivered hot and fresh. Thanks to management for being so kind with the sauce and portions.

Yelp
Ordered the lunch special of Red Snapper fish and chips and a regular entree of Jambalaya, upon recommendation. The Jambalaya used to be on the lunch special menu (which would have been priced about 40% less). The red snapper was good. Small portions, but the fish was worth ordering. I was told 15 minutes, but it was closer to a half-hour wait. Unfortunately the Jambalaya was dry and I could tell it was old. How so, you may ask? Well, we opened the pint-sized container (which we had expected quite a bit larger, for the price paid) and ate some spoonfuls off the top. The shrimp was tough, the sausage didn't look all that, and once we got to the middle of the container, it was cold! Like it was taken right out of the refrigerator, heated up and then put into a plastic to-go pint-sized container. We sent it back and asked for a refund, but since their policy is not to give refunds, they "remade" it. It didn't taste any better, but at least it was piping hot, unlike the previous serving. But our taste buds were soured due to the texture of the meat pieces. The fish isn't bad, and I'd order that again. But stay away from things that can be prepared in advance and reheated, like Jambalaya, which was not fresh for consumption.

Yelp
I came here by suggestion my a few of my friends and as much as I wanted to give this place 5 stars I couldn't. The staff that helped me was super friendly and helpful and made me comfortable in knowing what I was ordering. I was happy with what I ordered and the food came quicker than what was quoted. Got home the food was supper hot and still fresh yes but this is where things start to go downhill. I ordered the 20 piece snapper, French fries (for the kids), mac-n-cheese, red beans and rice, and candies yams. The fish was cooked and seasoned so well. The French fries were nothing to obsess over the kids ate them just fine (but they will eat any French fries). The mac-n-cheese was ok (we'll leave it on that note). The red beans were super salty and mushy and over cooked. The candied yams were not cooked all the way they still had that stringy fibers that normally cooks down when they are "fully cooked". They were too sweet lacked the butter and other seasonings all's I could taste was the sugar. As I said in the beginning I had high hopes for this place. If you get the fish from here you will be satisfied but stick to the fish. For what I spent I am not sure if I will be back and I really feel terrible saying this.

Yelp
Hey, on the app where we have to order I think you should somewhere mention that 1 shrimp is equivalent to $4. Because if that was the case and I knew that I would've never bought that when I could've paid for a bag of shrimp the same size. I usually go there here and there but this is actually disappointing. I left a nice message with some criticism and my Instagram got blocked and at this point It's sad when you try to support black businesses and they act like this

Yelp
I ordered the three-fish combo with two sides. it was good. it wasn't heavy seasoned, but that is expected bc restaurants want to satisfy the palettes of everybody so they make it bland. it wasnt a lot of food for $30.00. $15.00 is the price that wld have been reasonable to me. the hush puppies were good. the fries were fries, not special. all in all it's a good meal but it's not inspiring. but that's how most restaurants are so that's not a criticism bc it's industry standard. real home cooking with the seasonings are done at home. I ordered from seamless. the delivery was on time.
