This isn’t your ultra-trendy, modern Asian fusion spot—and that’s exactly what makes it special. If you’re craving something comforting, flavorful, and totally unpretentious, this place delivers. The Mongolian Beef over crispy rice noodles instantly brought me back to my childhood. We also ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken and Veggie Fried Rice—classic dishes, seasoned and cooked right. The service was full and attentive! They even packaged up our leftovers for us at the end, and wrapped it all up with the classic fortune cookie—something small, but nostalgic and fun to see. With a 22 oz beer, the total came to about $70 after tip. Considering the portion sizes and the quality of the food, we felt it was a pretty good deal! If you’re looking for great food in a laid-back setting with a touch of nostalgia, this spot is a hidden gem. It will definitely be one of our go-to take out spots from now on.

Google
We're so happy their back open for dine-in! This has been a family favorite for decades. Covid put it into take-out only for years. Their homemade noodles are the best! Great soups, pot stickers, and the entrees are all the best. A must for anyone in Seattle or visiting!

Google
Ordered delivery , amazing Gluten-free menu. I haven’t seen so many options like that before . I ordered the snappy dragon chow mi fun , it was so delicious and the portion was huge. My new favorite place

Google
This was our first time here and we were BLOWN away by how delicious the food was. Best Chinese food I've ever had in or near Seattle! They have a gluten-free and vegetarian menu as well as a regular menu. They're also great at making accommodations for allergies, which was so nice. The servers were knowledgeable and kind. They had caffeine free green tea. Oh and the portions! Holy moly! The portions were huge! You really get your moneys worth! We will be back! Try the sizzling rice soup!

Google
If you want the best from scratch and most unique chinese dishes that are out of this world. Get down here and prepare to be amazed by different flavors, textures, and tastes you will ever experience. This is my new go-to for real deal, down home chinese food. The house made curry is beyond the best. Great ownership and staff as well. Keep it up. Thank you.

Google
Only open for takeout and delivery. I had the $12.95 Kung Pao Chicken lunch special. You get a good amount of food. The main dish, fried rice and spring roll were decent, maybe a little oily, but not really memorable. The Wonton soup was very good. The staff were friendly.

Google
Very disappointing. I got a tofu and spinach in peanut sauce and the peanut sauce was straight up liquified jiff and no other flavor. I tried to put some soysauce to dilute it but it was still pretty bad. Couldn't eat it past 3 bites so I had to order another take out. My boyfriend liked snappy dragon chowmain so that's why I gave 3 stars. This place was very hyped up by my relatives so this was very disappointing.

Google
They are currently only doing takeout/delivery and not open for inside dinning. Ordered takeout lunch combo for $11.95 and it was well worth it! They give generous portions for the food. Great quality and friendly staff. They brought out our order to the car when it was ready.

Yelp
This place has great food! I placed an order for takeout and it was ready on time. I got the sweet-and-sour chicken which was excellent, and unlike so many restaurants, it had a good amount of bell pepper and pineapple. That was a particularly nice surprise! Also had their Mongolian beef, which was very tasty and tender. I will mention that they have a no stars option, which I decided to try because so many restaurants are spicy even with one star. Well, in this case, no stars really means no heat! So when I go back next time, I will order the one star and go from there. The only item that was disappointing, was the green onion pancakes. I've had them at the restaurant and they are absolutely delicious there. But they lose their crispiness on route to your destination, making them soft and kind of heavy. So don't order those unless you're planning to dine in. Also got some white rice, which was perfect. The staff was friendly. I was really impressed with how they packaged everything for my to go order. The bag was extra heavy, and there were pieces of cardboard in between items, which not only kept them upright, but I think helped keep them insulated. All in all it was almost an hour before I was able to unpack it for us to eat, and everything was still hot! I didn't need to zap anything in the microwave! Looking forward to going back and trying more of their delicious dishes! They have a rather small parking lot, but there is street parking too.

Yelp
It had been a long time since my last visit here, but have always considered Snappy Dragon the best Chinese food in North Seattle. No longer :( Just got two items, potstickers and the Special Chow Mein with house-made noodles. The potstickers were nothing more than big, heavy blobs of fried dough filled with small blobs of spongy, flavorless meat. Huge disappointment. What's more, the potsticker sauce was garbage...just some soy sauce mixed with rice vinegar. I make better sauce at home with basic recipes from the internet. Where's the effort?? The chow mein was a Major disappointment. I was looking forward to the house-made noodles...well, fine, because the dish was pretty ALL noodles, plus a ton of sauce just pooled at the bottom of the box. Very little meat, very few veggies...noodles and sauce, yippee. The kids working there were nice enough, but note to management: your customers really don't want to see a half-eaten PB&J sandwich sitting on the counter next to the credit card machine. All told, this felt like a final visit to an old friend.

Yelp
As you can see I have been a long time fan of Snappy Dragon, I waited forever for indoor dining to resume. I was so happy it was back, I think I only got take out one or two times in the past 4 years. I've been back twice since the reopening and sadly it is not the same. I do appreciate that they still have the same vegetarian menu, the dining room looks the way I remember it, I still love the sauces, but both meals my food has disappointed me. One of my favs was the vegetarian jiao-zi, on my first visit back I ordered 26 pieces for a lot of money. I was so upset to find that they now contain mushrooms (not updated on the menu) and I don't like mushrooms. Ugh. I probably should have tried to send it back, but instead forced myself to eat 25 of them. On this visit my friend also found her noodle dish to be different from memory, seems a machine now assists with the noodle making. My 2nd favorite is the green onion pancake, so I tried this on my next visit, the pancake was way too cakey. I showed my dining partner pictures of the old version and she could totally see what I was talking about. The Kung Pao Tofu was better, but I now have a new favorite place for this elsewhere. Portions were still huge, service was decent. I'm mostly writing this review because I don't want others to experience the let down I did, I might make it back one day but it is definitely going off my radar. The good news is the place has been less crowded, they do still seem to be doing a strong takeout game. I do like the fancy new chopsticks. You can still get tea.

Yelp
Everything was outstanding!! Especially the Honey Walnut shrimp. Some of the best we've had. The chef came out to greet us and that was a special moment. The ambience was good for a Chinese restaurant that focuses more on the food.

Yelp
We went to the Snappy Dragon as a party of 2 at 2:00 on Thursday. It was empty-we were able to be seated right away. Apparently they had been takeout only until very recently-their dining room is lovely. I love the detail on their chopsticks! I ordered off their individual combo menu: hot and sour soup, fried rice, an egg roll and the Garlic and Vegetable chicken. I ordered 4 stars for heat level. Their hot and sour was good, but I wanted it more spicy and sour. Their egg roll and fried rice were excellent! The Szechuan sauce on the chicken and vegetables was great. While I would have liked more intensity to the spice and heat of their dishes, their flavor was wonderful. I would come back here for a cozy and yummy lunch.

Yelp
Big L. We have eaten at Snappy since the 90's. Since Bill Lee has taken over (Judy sold to him in 2023) it is standard cheap American Chinese food garbage. Sure, they still advert the famous homemade, hand-cut noodle. But they are clearly not hand cut, and if homemade (which I doubt) are a far cry from Judy's. Bland bland bland. Salt and pepper chicken and spring roll is mostly breading. The meal made my wife ill to boot. The homemade touch and care of the food made Snappy Dragon stand out. That's gone. Just like us.
google avatar

Tom B.

Yelp
Service good, food mostly so. Known for "Judy's noodles " in the chow mein which were indeed good, but my "seafood chow mein" was light on seafood and the scallops in it were horribly fishy and sharp tasting.
google avatar

Mary H.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to have a quick meal with a large group before going to the Zoo Lanterns. We were seated quickly with hot tea and water immediately. Food was great and service was efficient and fast. We really enjoyed the meal!

Yelp
First time here, I had never even heard of the place. Went with friends who suggested it and glad I did. We were able to get right in despite being a Friday night. The dining room is small. Upon entering they asked if there were special dietary needs as they have a gluten free and vegetarian menu. They also asked if we wanted tea. I had the wonton soup and the flavor was amazing. We ordered three dish and shared them: the five flavor beef with chicken (which was new), muchu pork with pancakes and Kung Pao chicken. The five flavor beef was off the charts amazing. The Kung Pao chicken was good and spicy if not a bit aalty, and the muchu pork was practically flavorless without the hoisin sauce. The pancakes were more of a crepe and they were really chewy. The stag was very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. All in all a great experience.
google avatar

Jeremiah J.

Yelp
Rude customer service! They couldn't get our order right nor could they adequately refund our order. This place has gone down hill.
google avatar

Eric T.

Yelp
The portion is hugeeee here and very solid food. The homemade noodles are very chewy and go very well with the sauce. The mapo tofu could've been spicier, but the sauce is solid. The ground pork in it tastes like chunked up dumpling filling which is kinda weird. They also provide hot tea and offer to pack the leftover which is quite nice. The tea is pretty watery though. The service is solid and the ambiance is standard. Will come back to try more dishes.
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
Had a quick dinner the other night, first time there in years. Mushu w/ tofu and rainbow tofu. Both fresh tasting and delicious. Lots of leftovers.
google avatar

Ian S.

Yelp
Got the lunch special take out. Mongolian beef, fried rice, wonton soup and bbq pork. Quite scrumptious and a lot of food for $13.50 now a days. Give them a good tip if u get the lunch spesh!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I were on vacation in Seattle, and we stumbled into our lodging late at night, no idea what food was available. The nearest spot I could find was Snappy Dragon, so I called up and asked if they were still doing deliveries, because they closed in like half an hour. The guy said he thought they were probably done for the night, and I asked if he could just double-check, because I was super hungry. He did a quick check and then took my order. So, kudos to them for going ahead and hooking me up, even though they were debating packing it in for the night. As it turns out, the food here was so good that my girlfriend kept suggesting that we order from them, even though we had plenty of city left to explore! On the first night, we picked up the Szechuan noodle soup. Even with the noodles basically compressed into a cube form, they were still springy and delightful once we got them into the soup. We ate as many of the noodles as we could, and then tried the Ants Climb a Tree, which wasn't nearly as good. Just not enough minced pork and substance to the dish. We ended up saving them as leftovers, and then finding some meat to augment the noodles with later. The next time we ordered, we tried the Snappy Dragon Fried Rice and the wonton soup. Both were great. Wontons were tasty, the soup was flavorful, and the fried rice was pretty solid. Good, but not amazing Chinese food, solid value, hopefully they can open up for in-person dining again soon.

Ian b.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service! Great new owners are very kind and know what they're doing. Dinning room freshly open for service! Edit: Went and got the 7 layer beef tonight! Tasted amazing! The perfect amount of spice!
google avatar

Fiona T.

Yelp
My favorite place for Chinese food in Seattle is hands down! The staff is friendly, and the BBQ pork fried rice, green onion pancakes, and wontons are always delicious. Additionally, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous.
google avatar

Linda S.

Yelp
This restaurant used to be good but now it is not. Service and atmosphere great. The food, not so much.

Amy W.

Yelp
Delicious. Fast. Huge portions! We just moved to the area and needed dinner - Snappy Dragon did not disappoint! Highly recommend the Salt and Pepper Prawns, Sesame Chicken, MuShu, and Hot and Sour Soup. We'll be back for sure!

Owen J.

Yelp
Me and my mom went here to celebrate her birthday we ordered 75$ worth of food for the family and we received 2 things we did not order when we tried to get our food back they denied it and said I'm just an employee this place has only gotten worse with new employees and young kids who don't care and my mom was disappointed because she was down a lot of money and had no food

Luke G.

Yelp
The service was insanely slow. The host told me it would be 10 minutes when I arrived on time, it ended up being another 25 minutes upon arrival. Make sure you wait an extra 30 minutes at least after the recommended time they give you over the phone
google avatar

Spencer T.

Yelp
The food has been consistently subpar when I have gone there. They have long waits, high staff turnover, and haven't opened their dining room to the public due to "workforce shortages". This place is unfortunately riding on its accolades from decades prior and no longer lives up to its name.
google avatar

Jim T.

Yelp
I called in my order 40 minutes ago for pickup, and I showed up to get it. "No, the order just went in to the kitchen.". So I'm late, they screwed up the order, and now I am sitting here waiting for food that should have been cooked and ready to go before I arrived. I'm very disappointed; they seem very disorganized.

James R.

Yelp
Fast and easy takeaway service with a nice selection of items. My favorite is their hot and sour soup along with steamed rice makes for a great meal. I also enjoyed the Szechuan beef The sweet and sour shrimp had too much heavy breading to my taste I loved how the food was stapled in a heavy paper bag and made the carry out much easier Always seemed clean and staff most polite when picking up. And parking never a problem On my last pick up I see that dine in now available As I get cravings for hot and sour soup this is my go to spot Jim at Maplelag in Minnesota

Tom B.

Yelp
I was very worried that the new ownership might ruin Judy Fu's, my very favorite Chinese restaurant. Because I live in Olympia, it's always easier to dine in, but that was put on pause at the start of Covid. Thankfully, in mid-May of this year (2024), inside dining once again became available. On May 14th, a good buddy and had dinner at Judy Fu's. The first good news was that our server had worked there since 2007. She went out of her way to explain that almost everything available under Judy Fu's ownership was still available, but she added more good news that a few noteworthy new items had also been added. The menu is quite expansive. I started dinner with a cup of hot and sour soup, my tradition at Judy Fu's. Same as always, it was spiced to perfection and full of the goodies that make Judy Fu's soups a stand-out. But my Szechwan Garlic Chicken dinner was simply gourmet. Let me tell you, it was loaded with sweet bell peppers, onions and garlic. I chose spice level 2, just enough to taste without being overpowering, my preference. I had the honor of meeting Bill Lee, the new owner. You would like him. He is not only dedicated to carrying on the tradition of Judy Fu's, but also adding his own touch, a true gentleman. The thing I least like about Judy Fu's Snappy Dragon has not changed. You see, I live in Olympia and it's a long drive to the restaurant. Ok. I had to say something negative, even if it's my problem. Lastly, I consider Judy Fu's prices very fair, especially for the quality and quantity of food and outstanding service. Judy Fu's Snappy Dragon continues to get my personal gold star for food, service and atmosphere. It's still number one for me!

Karen U.

Yelp
We were so happy that they had "dine in" available again!! Yeah!! However, they have changed the way they make their homemade noodles- we were so disappointed. The noodles were our favorite- and what kept us coming back. Now they seem like any fresh noodle you can buy at the grocery store. They are very flat and thin. Sadly, we probably won't go back- now that they have changed the way the make their noodles. They were nothing special.

Chris M.

Yelp
I had been doing autumn yard work all day and I did not feel like cooking. It had been hot sweaty work that turned cold in the late afternoon. I ordered a meal to be delivered. It was absolutely wonderful. It arrived quickly and was piping hot. I ordered Wonton Soup, Broccoli Beef and mixed vegetables in garlic sauce. It was so tasty and warm and delicious, the perfect thing. AND my fortune said Your Financial Outlook is Excellent.

Jenny A.

Yelp
We order Snappy Dragon pretty regularly. So good. I highly recommend General Tso's chicken and the steamed pork dumplings. The brown rice is really good!
google avatar

Charlie M.

Yelp
Always delicious. Wonderful hand made jiaozi. We always get Mandarin fried rice with extra shrimp. Salt and pepper prawns. Mu shu pork. I hope they may again open up for sit down dining. I miss spending time with everyone there.
google avatar

stephanie p.

Yelp
This place used to have the BEST vegetable chow mein with homemade hand cut noodles. The noodles were more like dumplings (the southern version, not the Chinese version) and they were to die for. Now they are more like just normal noodles. I'll miss the old version and i wish I had known because I would have loved to have had them just one more time before they changed them.
google avatar

Ariel B.

Yelp
I ordered dinner on Postmates. The delivery was fine but the food was inedible. Flavorless noodles with a few veggies sprinkled on top, and the general Tao's was slimy with fat/skin and gristle in the chicken. $60 later and it all went in the trash in under a minute.

Maddy C.

Yelp
Food is always so good! I've been coming here for years and the flavors are great, portions are generous, and they're always quick and friendly!

Sumara J.

Yelp
Got takeout of the so-called homemade noodles and other dishes. Flavor and texture were very poor. The wonton wrappers in the soup were flavorless and mushy and broccoli beef lay in a large puddle of watery liquid. Overall it was a big oversauced mess that I can't believe we paid for. Seattle has enough of a culinary culture at this point that this restaurant will never be able to survive.
google avatar

Erin H.

Yelp
Okay, first of all - this is a COVID takeout dream! They package their food SO well and use cardboard to separate food to keep it from getting crushed. Snappy is also a local, family-owned business with their own delivery for a certain radius. Call before you use 3rd party apps! The food portions are massive, and you'll feel like you're getting your money's worth. I like the homemade, thick noodles and the sweet and sour pork (the house made sauce is a m a z i n g)

Natalie D.

Yelp
This was my go to for Chinese and was sad to learn it had a new owner and no seating inside. Tried it a couple of times and found it disappointing. Fast forward to last week, the reviews had become favorable, and it didn't disappoint. Will try again soon.

M T.

Yelp
So disappointed to see that our favorites at this restaurant are no longer tasty; from the jiao zi dumplings to our most favorite, the homemade noodles. (The store bought noodles we ate here today was awful. Absolutely no comparison.) Even the salt and pepper chicken tasted and looked different. Everything just seemed off. We wondered what was wrong. I googled the restaurant after I left and realized that there was new ownership. My family and I are gutted. We always made a point to stop here every summer when we're in town. Now, there is no need. I will miss Judy Fu's amazing dishes!

Lynn W.

Yelp
New ownership... no more thick homemade noodles (Chowmein) Will not return. That was their dish they were known for. It's ashame

Lola B.

Yelp
I love this place! Everything was delicious, but one request (and one star off for this) - please bring back the old version of the homemade noodles!!
google avatar

Philip S.

Yelp
We had a big order of take out food from here. the ordering process on the telephone was simple and efficient. Take out is the only option available at this point. There are lots of vegetarian options. The order was done on time and still hot when we got home 5 minutes away. The serving size was generous and all the flavors very good. Overall very enjoyable.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Everyone I know loves this place. The owner makes sure to stop by and say hi. He remembers most everyone. Super nice guy. Service is always very good. So why the 2 stars? I friggin hate the food. It's Americanized Chinese food, bland and uninspired. The dishes that say spicy on the menu....I don't know what to say that's not mean. Maybe I'm spoiled for spice by my place of choice, a Szechuan dive in Chinatown. One thing Snappy's does very well is their fried rice with brown rice. You have to request the brown rice. I usually fill up on that.
google avatar

Jake P.

Yelp
This place is the best. The homemade egg noodles are especially a favorite for me and my family
google avatar

Marie B. J.

Yelp
I gave this place 2-3 tries. I find the food bland, boring and tasteless. I'm eating chicken fried rice right now and searching for the chicken! My first meal was General Tsao's Chicken - I found the breading too think and the sauce tasteless (I tried it twice). This time I tried veggie steam dumplings and chicken fried rice. Who the fxck ever thought to stuff a dumpling with spinach?! It tastes terrible and the dumpling noodle is too think. Where the heck is the tenderness and delicate tase of steamed dumpling. I'm done, finished not going back again.
google avatar

Gina A.

Yelp
This is our first very disappointing experience with Snappy Dragon. The potstickers' dough was very thick and unappealing, the sauce for the spring rolls was more of a gel, and the spicy level of the Mongolian Beef was high, even though we requested 2-star level of spice. I called to provide feedback and was met with an extremely lackluster and apathetic response. Apparently they have multiple chefs and cannot be relied on for consistency with their dishes. And, yes, the sweet and sour sauce is more jelly than saucy... yikes.
google avatar

Caitlin H.

Yelp
The Snappy Dragon chow mein with homemade noodles really wasn't my thing. The vegetable aspect was mostly bamboo shoots and water chestnuts, neither of which I enjoy much. The texture of the noodles was dense and reminded me of spaetzel. I didn't like the flavor of the sauce it was in at all. The crispy fried pork wontons were okay. I got carryout, and they were varying degrees of soggy. The pork didn't have much flavor. I don't think Snappy Dragon is really worth trying.
google avatar

Phillip A.

Yelp
My wife and I are celiac, and this is the only spot nearby we can order Chinese. This makes me sad because everything here we can eat (about 60% of the menu) is two star quality I give it a third star because if you're gf, then you're desperate for Chinese food like us and you'll take what you can get. What you can get isn't seasoned in any inspired way. It feels disconnected from authentic Chinese food, but also isn't even cooking American influenced items with any kind of enthusiasm.
google avatar

Yip E.

Yelp
I've been going here since I moved to seattle in the 90's. As I mainly get takeout (& snappy was takeout only for much of the pandemic) - that's what this review is about. There is ALWAYS something missing from the order. ALWAYS. This last time it was missing - the crispy noodles for the Mongolian tofu, the white rice & the dipping sauces for the large jow-zi. Really?!?! They have forgotten a whole dishes before - & they never respond - "we will send the missing dish to your home immediately" they offer to make it and have you come get it, or refund. But something is always MISSING FROM EVERY ORDER NOW... It's really annoying. Also, they told me when to come get the order. It was an additional 20 minutes waiting...until the order was ready. I think I might be done with snappy!

Jennifer R.

Yelp
This has been a neighborhood staple and favorite for years! I ordered for pick up since they are still not serving inside the restaurant. They no longer have Judy's homemade noodles! I ordered Mongolian beef and potstickers in peanut sauce. The sauces were thick and over spiced. Nothing like it used to be. If this was my first time I'd assume it was a mediocre Chinese - American restaurant. Given Snappys long history of excellence I can only assume it's been sold and they have an inexperienced cook.
google avatar

Bailey C.

Yelp
Stopped for lunch. Been meaning to try the handmade noodles. We ordered soup and chow mein, both were delicious. Both dishes were enough for two people. We got six meals out of it. Adding this to our comfort food list. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
Amazing food! I've ordered takeout from Snappy Dragon once a month for years. Most of the chicken dishes are white meat, which I like. Their Kung Pao and Pineapple chicken with Snow Peas are my favorite. I'd recommend any of their chow meins with their homemade noodles. Mmm They are takeout only and not open on Mondays.
google avatar

Lizzyy K.

Yelp
Came here to say the same things others have. Snappy dragon used to be good! Incorrect order, bland entrees, chewy meat, over priced and simply just not worth it. Would no longer recommend.
