Snappy’s

A little confusion. The only photo of a sandwich was shown with sliced bread. Mine came on a roll. Looking at the reviews, I guess they all do. Not my thing. I got the turkey bacon. All the food was good except the shredded lettuce. I guess you have to use shredded lettuce with a roll, but also not my thing. The place is clean and well decorated. I would even say cute. Service only got 4 stars because I only give 5 stars to full service restaurants.

This is a great little sandwich shop. When I spotted it across the road, I was immediately drawn in for their turkey club. There was a great big photo of a beautiful looking sandwich in the window and I could resist. Come hungry, portions are big, and the food is extremely filling. I spent about twenty-five dollars for the turkey club sandwich, curly fries, and a fountain drink. Not exactly budget friendly, but when I got my food I was pleasantly surprised. This is a heavy sandwich. It doesn't look like a huge sandwich, but when you grab the tray from them you'll immediately understand. The sandwich itself was fantastic. Perfect amount of fresh toppings, crispy bacon, etc. The bread is really great, has a solid taste to it. The curly fries were amazing. Crispy, and not overly done. It was a perfect sandwich meal to be honest. Inside the place has a few tables/booths. It's not a large restaurant by any stretch. Staff were friendly, helpful, and the service overall was ideal. Location is good, right by a number of small shops. Parking might be an issue, as there is limited street parking, but that's not their problem at all. I don't come to Portland often, but next time I do, I'll definitely be coming back for this sandwich. I included some photos which, while they look appetizing, don't even come close to doing that sandwich justice.

Solid sandwich spot with a few vegetarian options! Bread could’ve been a little softer/more flavorful. Otherwise a lovely interior and outdoor seating area in one of the best Portland neighborhoods. Got the tofu egg salad- a rare find for sandwich shops! Definitely would return for a casual bite.

Perfection! Every bite was incredible and the staff are amazing. Competitive seating inside but we grabbed a wine and a beer to hang out while we waited. The sandwiches are perfect, classic, and flavorful! The curls go excellently with the fry sauce and the cookies are ridiculously good! The space is cute and full of local history. We'll be back!

This was my first visit to their new location on NW 23rd. The place is nice and cozy and has similar decor as their original location. I ordered The 4 Pointer and a side of curly fries at the counter and then took a seat. The service was pretty quick and friendly. I did enjoy the sandwich as every bite was good and full of flavor. I don't think you can go wrong with the sandwiches here.

Snappys was a nice surprise in what seemed like an unassuming package. A favorite characteristic of mine in Portlands food scene. I ordered the french dip with a side of curly fries. Food came out quick, hot, and overall delicious. There's a generous amount of horseradish to pack in some great flavor. It leaves me ready to try more. While I did enjoy the food, no question there, I do pull back on a star here just because of price. For 14 to 15 bucks a sandwich, you are getting quality. However, you're not getting on the side. Chips even are an extra charge. I get it. Things cost a bit these days. But I'm torn on the value found here. Overall, I'm happy with my meal here, and you will be too. But just know this is not going to be your quick and cheap sub shop.

Great sandwiches and vibey atmosphere! The tuna melt is my favorite. I read another comment that said the meats are always grade A, which makes the price feel reasonable. A solid place for a workday lunch or a grab-&-go for a weekend adventure!

Great sandwich but slow service. Took my daughter and wife here for dinner. Food tasted amazing. However, it took over 30 min to get our food. There was only one employee and one cook, and the employee was helping out in the kitchen, so the counter was not being attended to when needed.

There's nothing quite like a good sandwich, and Snappy's didn't disappoint. I'm a sucker for a tuna melt, and theirs is on point, including potato chips for extra texture/crunch. The salted chocolate chip cookie was gooey and delicious too! The service was reasonably quick, and the person we ordered from was happy to chat about recommendations and modifications. The interior vibe is cute and quirky but clean, with the mostly white walls and plenty of light making the relatively small space still feel pretty open.

We needed isandwiches for 100 people. Snappy's was super easy to work with. I gave him the order over the phone, paid for it over the phone a couple days earlier. Snappy's delivered right to our event space. They were super polite and friendly, and were easy to communicate with by email phone and text. The sandwiches came organized and labeled so they were easy to distribute. They even were willing to wrap them and halves for us, which is not their usual routine. For many people, a half sandwich was enough because the sandwiches are good size. And the sandwiches got great reviews . The BLAT was hands down the favorite. They also have vegan options, vegetarian options, and a gluten-free wrap, We had a few leftovers which tended to get a bit soggy, because the bread and veggies were really fresh, so make sure you eat them while they still have structural integrity. Given how tasty these sandwiches are that shouldn't be a problem. Definitely recommend !

A mixed bag review for the clean, crisp, colorful sandwich shop. Here is our groups sandwich rankings: 5 for the fries 5 stars for the grilled cheese 5 for the trilogy 4.25 for the Four Pointer (A) 3.5 for the BLAT 2.5 for the Four Pointer (B) -- Continued review: we loved the bread (grilled and hoagie), the heirloom tomato on the BLAT was awesome gorgeous. Those who loved their sandos emphatically said 5. The fries were gone in minutes. The misses were on the avocado mash, a bit oxidized perhaps? As you can see, the four pointer had two scores that differed, to each their own. If you go to Snappy's know there is an awesome beverage case (Barq's Root Beer- yum!), chips choices and a nice outdoor dining area on 23rd.

So I am thinking 4 stars only bc the guy working the front could not greet or smile. But waiting for our sandwiches and gonna sit out on the secret patio:) Ok- the food is delicious and the chips rock too!

I'm biased but this place rules. Great food, fun atmosphere, menu with lots to choose from. And now they have chicken wings at the NW location. Love the brown butter buffalo sauce.

Let's take a step back into the 90's for lunch! In Portland, Oregon sits this cute sandwich shop that is everything 90's from the decor to the music. Inside brings me back to my high school years when we would leave campus to the sub shop on the corner. Snappy's plays all 90's music so there's no confusing what era you're in. The dining area has souvenirs and the decor is all things from the 90s with VHS tapes, 90s snacks and your favorite 90s movies framed on the walls. They have a small TV with a VHS built into the TV to play 90s movies and show shows. Snappy's is a counter service so you go to the counter order your food and they call your name. You can grab some drinks from the cooler with a small selection of alcohol primarily beer, and they have a soda fountain in the back. The lady who assisted me with my order, explained everything to me and what they have to offer. Everyone was kind and helpful. There's plenty of seating inside, outside at the front entrance and the secret patio in the back. Snappy's is primarily sandwiches, cold, and hot. They have some sides in a variety of snacks. I got a veggie sub that was delicious and a side of fries. They have cookies Pringles Doritos. They have some 90s candy and a variety of sodas and water. They also have pickles. This was a great sandwich shop that takes you back in time and puts you in all the good feelings. Whether you live in Portland or you're visiting Portland, Oregon, you should check out snappy's to take you back in time. Cheers

Stopped into Snappy's while in the area. I was greeted upon entry and given a minute to view the menu. I ordered a tuna melt and 'veg supreme' off their hot sandwiches menu. They also have a cold sandwiches menu, as well as sides and drinks. The tuna melt sandwich was good and tasty, though not my favorite one in the city. The veg supreme was indeed loaded with veg, but it had whole garlic cloves and large pieces of artichoke which were hard to chew. I wouldn't say the preparation of the sandwiches was "snappy" - it took a little longer than I thought, but it looks like maybe they were training someone. It gave me time to admire the decor - I can appreciate the choices made here, from TVs made to look like old-style menu boards, to the crates on the ceiling, to the booths for seating. They're going for a 90s convenient store vibe and nailed it.

Cool spot. Cool vibe inside. In a walkable part of town. Seems like the type of chain that I wish was in more places. If I ever craved a sandwich, I'd be down to have this in the rotation if I was near one. So cal expansion maybe?? Tbh, I can't remember exactly what I got. But I tried the curly fries and I remember those hitting the spot. I wanna say I got something with chicken and it was a solid sandwich. I think it was warm? Good flavor, that I know for sure. I think my friends got a chicken salad sandwich and it looked delicious. Down to order that if I come back, plus some fries

The staff were very nice, the inside was decorated very cute and old school. You can get a couple of canned drinks or beer. They have some merchandise as well as some cheeses that you can purchase. I got a turkey club sandwich. I modified it a bit. But I do have to say it may be one of the only times I have not finished the sandwich in my life. The bread had a weird texture for me. And I'm not sure if the oil and vinegar was just too tart or what but it was offputting. Could have been the seasoned mayo aïoli. I'm just not sure. I was really disappointed. I did order the curly fries and ate those for lunch. They were very good. Unsure, I will return to this location in the future.

Really good sandwiches! Good variety with great side dishes/snacks to go with them. The service is quick and they are very friendly. Somehow the shop give off UK vibes.. not sure why but to me it does. It has a lot of personality, fun to look around every direction. The tables weren't kept very well. We've been here a handful of times and the tables have crumbs in them 80% of the time we've visited. The soups are a hit or miss. You might come in a good day and get some dank pozole or you come on another day and get some weird throw together type soup. Cookies are not good. Basically Subway cookies. Actually I might prefer Subways.

Snappy's offers pretty good hoagies albeit at a little bit higher price point. Have tried the Trilogy (my favorite) and the Turkey Club. Both were pretty good. However, not as good as Jersey Mike's especially for the value, but if you want a locally owned option you could do worse.

Snappy's does an elevated deli sandwich well. The turkey club is delicious, and everything tastes fresh, but it tends to be so stuffed into the bread that you don't get super holistic bites (all turkey or all lettuce). I would say that Jersey Mikes achieves what Snappy's is doing a bit better and doesn't cost as much. That's all to say that the ambiance in Snappy's is awesome, the place is decorated really cool.

Finally, a sandwich shop on NW 23rd! Located right next to See Eyewear, with plenty of tables out front, this was the perfect spot to grab a bite after ordering prescription sunglasses next door. Inside is designed like an old fashioned sandwich shop - colorful, fun, a counter up front to order, menu up above, just a few tables as this isn't a hangout place. It's a pick-up a sandwich to eat there quickly or to go. Since I love mortadella and I'm from NJ were subs are the norm, I went with the #4. Stuffed with Italian meats - mortadella, sopresseta, salami, cappecola - with pickled peppers, extra lettuce, tomatoes, onion and pepperocini. Glad I saw that they put mustard on this sandwich, which to me doesn't go, so I asked them to leave it off. The sandwich was very filling, big enough for two meals for me, which at $14 plus a tip, it better be! When I'm home in NJ, a deli sub or sandwich is in the $6.99 range and I can never get used to Portland's sandwich prices. Don't get me started on the price of pizza (large pepperoni back home is just $15.)

Fun little deli spot on 23rd in the old Little Big Burger Space. I've visited their original location on Ankeny on the East side plenty of times and enjoyed it so I was glad for the new additional location. Service is speedy here and food is often ready before the estimate. I've enjoyed the hot beef and cheddar as well as the Patty melt. Heard good things about the 4 Pointer which I hope to try soon. The jalapeño poppers are a really tasty side.

Finally stopped into Snappy's and it was delicious! Tried their Sandwich Week special and it was delicious and then also got the jalapeños poppers which were good but a little rich. It was quick but a really nice spot. They are a little expensive but still a great spot.

Amazing sandwiches and staff! I have never had a bad experience at either of the locations. I love the local bodega feel too! Get some snacks for a quick grab-and-go. Excellent cookies too!

It took too long, but it was a really good sandwich. We sampled the Chicken Salad, The Trilogy, and the Turkey Club with herb mayo. By all accounts, the sammies were enjoyable with a cronchy toasted bun and fresh veggies with plenty of meat. We ordered and paid from 25 minutes away, and the schedule was tight. We waited almost 15 min longer than the "ready by" promise, and watched as other walk-in customers' orders were prepared and sold before ours were ready. Yeah, it was lunch rush at 1245AM, and this is normally not a huge deal, but today it caused unnecessary stress to the schedule and made us late for work, so it's mentionable in case it helps others or reminds us for next time to allow for more time.

I just spent $35 on 2 sandwiches, and when I asked for the code to the restroom, they told me "we don't have a public restroom". WTF?!?! Like, REEEAAALLY?!?!

Okay cutest coolest sub shop ever. Not only was the art stunning but it was super creative! I got the BLAT sandwich and we split curly fries. And oof that bread was YUM- loved everything I ate. I definitely need to come back and try their slushies. I hope snappys is here to stay.

RUDE counter person so I decided to cancel my order. I had a few questions about the menu. I decided on a Tuna Melt (for $13). She asked if I want everything on it. I didn't see anything listed except cheese (implied in a tuna melt) and chips. i asked what came on it and she said "cheese and chips". I asked if I could get the chips on the side and I got "Nope! I can sell you a bag of chips." Not only does it not make sense that they can't put the chips on the side, she was also incredibly rude about it. I decided to leave and she (passive aggressively) yelled after me "Have a nice day!" I won't be returning. When there are so many choices on 23rd I don't need attitude with my order.

This replaced little big burger. Easy menu. No complicated orders like other sandwich shops. But BEEF AND CHEDDAR was not expected. Nothing melt in the mouth or any wow experience. Thin slices beef not enough cheese or onions, most importantly cheap bread. For $14 (+tips) medium sized sandwich nothing much to say. Other items might be better.

Delicious sandwiches and great drink selection. A gem on 23rd in NW Portland! I will definitely come back here again.

Finally made my way Snappys NW location and the chicken salad sandwich was delicious and refreshing for the summer weather must try sandwich spot !

First time at Snappys but I'll be back! I had a delicious tuna melt sandwich with potato chips inside. That was a first for me too. It added a nice salty crunch. Great customer service, plenty of seating indoors with a couple of picnic tables outside too. The menu has a lot of variety with quality ingredients.

I ordered one of the hot sandwiches here. I'm sad that no one else knows how much of a gym this place is. The portions were good and the curly fries were to die for. Would definitely eat again.

Door was open so we walked in to grab a can of something to drink. Hours weren't posted outside. We grab the drink and stand at the counter for a minute when a a worker comes to check us out and then the very rude older worker just shouts out "we don't open for another 30 minutes" I work customer service/retail so I understand needing the prep time but maybe you should keep the door closed or having a better located hours sign. First and last time I will ever walk into there

Great service. Super nice counter guy. We ordered two sandwiches - a BLAT and the bratwurst special. The special had some cheese sauce. My partner asked for no cheese sauce and the counter person really gave her a hard time. She's allergic! We got our sandwiches and they were ok. I have heard so much about Snappy's but was disappointed. The BLAT had an avocado spread. I guess I thought it would have slices of avocado. The heirloom tomato was perfect but I think there was two pieces of lettuce on the sandwich. There was no "herbed aioli" as described. There was not very much bacon and the bacon that was on it was mostly in one half of the sandwich (?). I've never understood why a sandwich shop cannot evenly distribute toppings. My partner liked the brat ok. I'm sure the cheese sauce would have added to it but it did have caramelized onions and peppers plus mustard but was kind of low on the flavor scale. We may give it another try but at $14 a sandwich I expected a little more

Their food is delicious! I got the cubano sandwich and a cookie. A bit on the expensive side, but it was really good. The cookie was big, and soft. The only bad things I have to say about this place is the smell in the restaurant is very pungent, makes it hard to eat there. Very greasy smelling and overpowering. The other reason they get low marks is because of their staff. The counter person wasn't very friendly. Most people like getting service from a friendly person.

Foods good, customer service sucks. Wouldnt bother wasting your money - spend it on a business that treats their customers with respect. Person on the phone hung up the phone twice claiming they "work in the restaurant industry and don't have time to talk" Suggest buddy get a new job if he can't handle the stress

Fun 90s themed sandwich shop. Very kind workers here. I've tried a few of the sandwiches and they taste great. I like that the tuna melt comes with chips inside. The cookies are the best I've had in portland. I hope they never change the recipe because they are perfect. They also have a wide variety of beverages, diet, caffeinated, non-caffeinated, and even slightly-sparkling coconut water. I do think the music could be turned down a bit and I wish I could tip while doing an online order :) I will probably be back a lot for the cookies.

I ordered a sandwich through their online portal for a Monday lunch, and before I could walk across the street from the hospital, the food was ready. Great, friendly service. I mistakenly ordered extra lettuce, so be aware if you check the lettuce at the bottom, you will get plenty of lettuce.

The BLAT was excellent with fresh ingredients and plenty of bacon. The service was super friendly, very clean and welcoming spot for a fast casual lunch or dinner on NW 23rd. The area was begging for something like this- quick and easy with great food!

I wish I lived closer to either location, because it's always hard for me to decide between the tuna melt, four pointer, or hot veg...and now the chicken and veg. I love Snappy's!
