Yelp
Such an incredible disappointment for a place that hitches their star to a sandwich place that we've absolutely loved over the past several years.
I am sorry to be saying this, but Snarfburger is a HARD PASS. This place is garbage, which, again, makes me incredibly sad. I will go into more detail in a moment, but let me warn you, there is zero reason to give this establishment a first or second look. If you make the mistake of ordering pickup or delivery here, you will certainly not get what you bargained for...unless you're in the mood for a headache and a dissatisfying meal. If you're looking for a smash-burger type of meal, go anywhere beside this place.
Okay, here is our personal experience. We ordered two burgers and two sides. The sides were what you'd expect from any run of the mill quick service restaurant place (i.e. McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King, etc.), which means they come out of a bag frozen and are thrown into the fryer (trust me, I've worked for a distributor and sold these items every day to this kind of establishment). So, the sides are as boring as you'd expect. What was severely disappointing were the burger patties themselves.
You'd expect that a place offering a "smash burger" would actually use ground beef that they smashed into the burger Patty you'd be craving...I'm sorry to say that, with my expertise, these are also pre-cooked burger patties they simply throw on the griddle or fry for a few seconds. And it is clearly evident...there's no inspiration or genuineness to what they do. They are simply trying to knock off Shake Shack or Smash Burger, but they're trying to pass themselves off as the "local place" (hilarious since their sandwich concept has quickly morphed into a multi-state empire - don't even get me started about how scant their sandwiches have become).
As I promised earlier in my "open letter", I'll now share our particular experience with this juke joint. As aforementioned, we ordered two burgers and two sides. With regard to the sides, I've already expressed my 'blah' experience, so I'll refrain from addressing that again. So...let's focus on the burgers. We ordered two of them...a single hatch green chile burger with the normal fixings and a double Reuben burger with the normal fixings. What we received was a DOUBLE hatch green chile burger that was an incredible mess (toppings all over the place and basically fused to the wrapper and a Reuben burger that was a SINGLE reuben burger with no cheese that was also an incredible mess. Two burgers, almost no alterations and they still couldn't get it right.
Just when you think it couldn't get worse, both of the burgers had burger patties that were torched and had ZERO flavor...likely because they're pre-packed or even pre-cooked and thrown onto the grill or in the microwave.
What's worse is that they use an aggregator (run of the
mill DoorDash, Grubhub, etc.). Good luck with these folks. When we tried to dispute the charge because of the garbage that was delivered to our home, we were given a $5 resolution. Mind you, this didn't even come close to covering half of what we paid for one of the two garbage "burgers" that were brought to our home.
Save yourself a frustrating experience and look elsewhere.
