Fantastic shakes and decent grill food. Large servings of fries Seems like a diner stop that locals used to like a lot but business was slow when we stopped in.

The fries and chili cheese fries are amazing. I'd love to try the chocolate malts, but I think I'd need someone to split it with. I bet everything's good here.

Amazing food, great service, cute homey diner atmosphere. Tahoe burger was delicious, juicy, and I would come back just for that and the loaded chili cheese fries!

Honestly I was a bit disappointed. The burgers were just okay..the crispy onion rings and the shake were delicious! Service was subpar and it was pretty pricey...about $40 for two burgers, one fry, a shake, and a soft drink..if you're looking for milkshakes definitely come here but maybe not if you're craving a burger.

This is the first place I ever went to where I thought to myself "I could've got better food for much cheaper at the baseball stadium". A McDonald's quality cheeseburger, fries and drink were $25. There was a standard looking lunch rush with maybe 5 orders in front of me, and it took 35 minutes to get my order... there's nothing moe complicated on the menu beyond a grilled slice of pineapple for the teriyaki burger. so, I can't imagine what took so long.

This classic burger joint takes you back in time with its authentic, juicy burgers and thick, creamy malts. Each burger is perfectly cooked and the malts are just the right blend of ice cream and flavor—definitely a must-try! The atmosphere is nostalgic and cozy, making it the perfect spot for a casual meal. The service is friendly and quick. Highly recommend for a delicious trip down memory lane! Dog-friendly patio.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!! NASTY FOOD!!!. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE!!. Burgers and fries had absolutely NO flavor for being priced the way they are, we paid well over $80 for 3 burgers and fries. The girl taking orders was RUDE and had a very shitty attitude. MY FAMILY WILL NEVER RETURN THERE.. vulger music was blairing the whole time.. not a place for kids.

After a long day at Palisades, we decided to stop by this little spot on a whim—and what a pleasant surprise! It’s definitely a hidden gem that’s easy to miss if you’re not paying attention. The place is small and tucked away, but the flavors coming out of that kitchen are anything but ordinary. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and fried pickles, and let me tell you, it was absolutely incredible. The sandwich was perfectly crispy, with just the right amount of spice, and those fried pickles? Addictive! I devoured everything without a second thought. My partner went for the teriyaki burger and was equally impressed. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and left him wanting more. Honestly, we couldn’t stop raving about how good the food was! The atmosphere is simple—it’s what you’d call a classic hole-in-the-wall spot. It’s clean and cozy, but definitely not fancy. Overall, it’s a five-star experience for the food alone, and I’d gladly come back!

Since the "new ownership"; this place is not the same. The food is good, don't get me wrong. The shakes/malts/floats are still good. Because honestly you really can't screw them up. This place is just so absolutely, painfully, dreadfully, stop reading these words, hurry-up-and-finish.....slow. The person yelling out completed/ready orders decides to yell out one window, despite the fact that there's more tables on the other side and you can't her hear over the music. Two days in a row it took over 30 minutes for two shakes. Somehow chicken tenders and fries come out 20 minutes prior to shakes. Chronically under staffed and the person operating the POS machine had no idea what they were doing. There wasn't much of a line for mass amount of orders. Shakes were good though, despite the craving leaving my body by the time it showed up.

Interested in waiting 26 minutes for two soft serve ice creams for your kids? Come on down to snowflake diner where the new management somehow made it worse than the old service.

The best burgers in town and their shakes are very good . I recommend this place if you are in town 10/10

The new owners are cutting costs at all stations. The shakes are smaller, the staff is short and the food and desserts are sub par at best. The shakes are about half size of what they use to be. I got a strawberry shake and it was more like strawberry milk. My wife got a hot fudge sundae and fries and it took 25 minutes. Our friends got 2 sundaes and they took 25 minutes. With soft serve ice cream....maybe 60 seconds to make 2???? It will be hard to ever return with zero response to any complaints. You have to tip before you get your items and the service is so slow.

Im so sorry to list a one star...but as an owner of service business, I was surprised and disappointed this morning, June 22, 2024 when we walked over to the Sno-Flake . We were so excited about the new owners. First of all, they dont open until 11 on a Summer Saturday morning . We got there at 10minutes till 11. A couple people were there with young children and told us it didnt open until 11. i had read they were going to open at 9 in the Summer, so i thought we were fine. At 11 someone stuck their head out of the window and said, Give me 10 more minutes. At this point we left. This is not good for a business that serves the public. Not sure how long the 2 families with children lasted in the heat of the day. I hope the new owners read this review, because if i was the owner, I would definitely want to know what my staff was up to, especially not opening on time.

Do you people even know what ice cream is? This is ice milk. And not very good ice milk at that. There is only one flavor note... sweet. The chocolate doesn't taste of chocolate and the vanilla only tastes sweet and vaguely of milk. Possibly the worst ice cream I have ever had.

Horrible service! I don't care how good your food is, there are a lot of places with good food in Tahoe. The people working here are beyond rude. I spent $76 dollars on food and a $10 tip (you order and pick up at a counter so this feels generous to me) but they refused to give me a side of ranch without paying $1. She also refused to give me tops for our milkshake cups.

Stopped for ice cream. Cones are now $5+ for a small, but still a nice size. The chocolate was dark, but didn't really taste too chocolaty. The vanilla seemed like it was over churned/icy but still palatable. We did have to wait about 10 minutes for our cones. Hoping they work on the quality of the ice cream going forward.

Great service, great food- this is our favorite place to go after a day at the beach!

went to snowflake yesterday 6/24 & I ordered the bacon cheese burger with a large peanut butter shake & everything was great! New owners are amazing ! definitely will come back

I've never seen a place "paint" on hot fudge to the side of the cup, but these guys do. Zero hot fudge at the bottom or anywhere else. All for $7.50. Hey tourists, come on over for a one time purchase, you'll never come back anyways.

I really had a taste for a soft serve cone and found this on Yelp. I thought it would be so much better than the chain places. We arrive around 3:30 PM on a weekday. It was busy but not packed. We waited in line about 5 minutes (2 groups in front of us). The rest of my family ordered shakes. We found a picnic table. And waited. And waited. And waited. Our number was called about 25 minutes later. My soft serve vanilla cone was very icy-not smooth- and did not have a ton of flavor. For nearly $5 and a 25 minute wait I was disappointed. The shakes were good though.

Over price for what it is was expecting more of it saw in ad on facebook and decided to give it a try but not worth it even though there in new ownership.

Where to start. Not a busy day, everyone was told 25 mins when they ordered. Finally got my food after 50 mins. And it didn't have all the items. So they said they would have to make the missing, and it would be a bit. Got my money back and went somewhere else. Horrible. Would hate to see it on a busy day.

Under new ownership and it was so good. We think it's the best burger in South Lake. Took a little wait as we got there during a lunch rush. Worth the wait. Loved the outdoor seating with our pup. Milkshakes came first, then delicious burgers! Can't wait to go back and try more items.

We have been here before for ice cream and we were excited to return, however, our visit was very subpar. We ordered cones which were handed out the window to us by a girl without any gloves. Pretty sure this doesn't follow food safety standards. Like other reviews have said, they serve ice milk now and not the same ice cream. So bummed we had to throw out our cones!

To the new owners: please take this advice from one who knows what it is like to own a small food service business . Yelp is very powerful and makes a difference! At the very least you should respond to these reviews , especially the negative ones . I realize that we live in a resort community but the locals are your bread and butter please don't forget that . They can make or break your business .

Not very much parking so you may have to drive around the block. Guy at the counter wasn't very friendly or enthusiastic... it was like he had a long tough day and didn't want to be there. I ordered the western burger which was ok, I've had much better, it was juicy but the bun was super dry, so it soaked up the juices. The onion rings were pretty greasy and the ranch dipping sauce had a sour taste to it.... Maybe one that came out of a bottle instead of being homemade. I also ordered a M&M shake.... Which was actually a grainy vanilla shake with mini M&Ms they didn't have the thicker straws like for boba, so I basically had a vanilla shake and the M&Ms were all in the bottom. Hubby had an Oreo cookie shake and it hid the grainy ice cream. It was pretty good. Other people ordered shakes and had a cherry on top.... We didn't get one for ours or even offered. Hubby gave them a tip when he paid for the meal, which then they didn't even bring it to us, we got up to get our meal.... Which was only a few steps... The dining room is pretty small, so if anyone has kids the sounds just echo through, there was some seating outside also. So on a nice day it would be nice to sit out there.

The Sno-Flake Burger has re-opened under a new family management. This place is awesome for Burgers & Shakes. Very nice clean tables outside with shade ot sun & Dog Friendly. There's inside seating too. Parking is not a problem. Help the new Sno-Flake owners get a start, stop by and have a Burger, you will not be disappointed.

The BEST shakes in town. They can mix flavors, do chocolate or vanilla base. Open all year round, but winter time hours vary. They offer food too. People here are nice.

Been coming here for 20 years, so had to stop by and get a cone. The ice cream has changed and it is mediocre at best. Seriously won't be coming back at this point. It is upgraded and under new ownership, hoping they take the reviews into consideration as they look to have a better product.

The milkshakes were ok, but the chocolate and vanilla twist ice cream cone my daughter got was disgusting. The vanilla ice cream was yellow and the chocolate was darker than what we usually see.

Shake is good. The chocolate is a classic, thick and sweet. The coffee one is runnier and tasty. Curly fries is good too. Nice snack. Ketchup and mustard and water available to self-dispense by the check out. Seats are outdoor and the breeze is nice even on a hot day. Parking can be busy. The plaza have walking access to some shopping area to buy souvenirs and general merch.

Sno flake has always been one of my go-tos in Tahoe. I love the milkshakes, the zucchini fries, and chicken fingers. With that said, the hours have been kind of weird post COVID so sometimes even though they say they are open, they are not.

Cute local spot, great burgers and shakes! THE WAIT None on a Tuesday in mid-August around 1pm. It was somewhat busy but there were plenty of open tables and no wait to order. Our food took maybe 5 minutes. THE COST $52.70 total for 2 milkshakes, 2 adult burgers, 1 kids meal, 1 fries. Great value. THE FOOD * Western Burger - 4 stars A bit too much BBQ sauce, but my partner liked it! * Chicken burger - 3 stars Fine, a little plain, a little on the dry side. * Curly Fries - 4.5 stars Amazing. I think these are double fried so you get a perfect crisp that's not too hard. * Oreo milkshake - 4 stars Great. The bigger size is giant. * Chocolate milkshake - My kiddo got this. The smaller size is a lot for a toddler! Very malted flavor.

So glad the Sno-flake is back open. Best burgers we have had in SLT. New owners are really nice.

Today I traveled from Sacramento to South lake Tahoe to enjoy the day I did not expect to stay overnight so I did not pack early anything to bring with me except for what I was wearing phone charger you know the normal stuff when you're only going for the day. Well that was my mistake I came here to this burger place because before I've been here and the food was amazing the service was amazing there is no way in hell I will ever say that again. Today we stopped by we ordered burgers and everything it's a beautiful day so we decided to sit outside went out to the picnic table went to sit down next thing I know I have bright red wood stain all over my shorts which are white my shirt which is a light blue on my skin and it's not coming off I went inside to say something to the manager/owner and her comment was oh well it's wet there are no signs nothing was said to us about don't sit on the picnic benches cuz they're wet nothing she asked me what I wanted her to do I said well we should be compensated considering I have to now go spend at least $100 to buy clothes remember we're in South lake Tahoe so it's a little pricey instead she offered me an ice cream cone and that was it nothing more nothing less just an ice cream cone and said it was my fault so I am asking everyone please do not do not go to this place she is rude disrespectful and a waste of time. And yes of course I will be contacting the better Business bureau you don't treat people like that even other customers walked out after us.

So now it's under new ownership! Wonderful couple that are now running it. The burger and fries were great, I know I'll be going back. The milkshakes looked unbelievable! We just got the sundaes. We could have gone to Five guys but we wanted to patronize a local burger place!

It as a Terrible experience!!! I would never recommend this place to anyone. We had a on the phone conversation with the owner to try to work out our situation and he told us he wasn't willing to work out anything with us, and then said to get out of his restaurant he wanted nothing to do with us. I was Very sad and disappointed. I was looking forward to having a wonderful, soft, serve ice cream from the recommendation of our friend who said this is the best ice cream ever!unfortunately, we never got the ice cream because there was no willingness to work with the staff and the customers!!!

Not closed. Reopened. Also open until 8 on weekdays. Likely weekends too. Call to double check hours.

First of all, the place is very dirty. The outdoor dining tables are covered with soot and grime. We ordered a hot fudge sundae at a price of $7.00. I would not have paid .70$. The ice cream tasted odd and cheap, the fudge had the consistency of melted plastic, and all in all, the sundae was terrible. We dumped most of it. I brought the situation to the attention of the manager, and was met with "that's the way we have done it for years." Wrong answer and a bit of a cop out. Do better!

After a lovely day at Kiva Beach, mini golfing and wandering around Tahoe, we were so hungry and wanted a quick bite before heading back into Reno. My sisters boyfriend had mentioned this place mainly for the boysenberry milkshake. A good burger sounded like it would hit the spot so we decided to try it. It's located on a corner and parking seems very limited. The building itself is pretty small with little seating inside. The outside seems like it would fit more seating and they may bring more benches out during the summer but I am not too sure. The menu is huge and there's an okay selection. I decided on a bleu cheese burger and the boysenberry milkshake. There was one order in front of us and for being a small burger shop it took over a half an hour to get out food which were literally just burgers and onion rings. The food really wasn't bad but it also wasn't great. It was just an okay burger but in my opinion not worth the wait or the price. The staff is not friendly and they disappear for periods of time. The restaurant itself is not really clean and during the duration of our stay, their ice cream machine went down so they no longer offered ice cream, sundaes, malts or milkshakes for the rest of the night. 4 sets of customers came in and left as that was all they were looking to order. If I am ever in the area again I would go back for the ice cream or milkshakes but not the food.

Stale crumbly bread. Under seasoned meat. Bland, Bland, Bland. Frozen unsalted fries. Frozen unsalted onion rings. The beef tasted old. SALT YOUR FOOD. They advertise "Famous burgers". Famous for what? This is not a complicated dish. DO NOT SERVE OLD STALE BREAD TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. If all you're doing is unpacking and reheating frozen ingredients (burger patties, fries, and onion rings", then you better spice it up a bit. This was amateur hour run by teenagers. Will not return, especially when two drinks mediocre burgers with fries and onion rings cost us nearly 40 bucks. I guess your "famous burgers" are famous for being really lame.

Used to be good. Now they close at 6 and we drove one extra hour to have a hamburger and they closed right in front of us. Ice cream gets smaller every time we go there. Was the last time ...

Oh my gosh, where to start?! My husband and I brought our kids here to get a quick takeout ice cream cone after visiting the lake. Hubby went inside for us, and was first in line for ordering. He ordered 3 vanilla ice cream cones, paid and waited. 2 other parties arrived after him and made to-go food orders which looked much more complicated than just ice cream. Well, the other customers food arrived and they left happy. Meanwhile, hubby was still there waiting. I had the kids in the car waiting anxiously... Hubby asked the girl where his simple order was and she admitted they totally forgot! She quickly had it made, and it came out wrong! They made ice cream swirls (with chocolate mixed into the vanilla). Finally, hubby gave it back and got a refund. So it was all for nothing. When I asked him why he didn't ask for a manager, he said there was no responsible adult in sight; the place is run by a bunch of stoned kids!!

Classic place for soft serve and milkshakes! Nice staff and good food,too! Awesome that they allow dogs on the deck so you can sit with your pup! Great for groups- as we were a party of 7 and able to sit at one picnic table.

Underwhelming on all accounts. Lived in tahoe a decade a stopped in bc why not? It looks classic.. the food: the buns were dry, the lettuce was old, the meat was over cooked.. the service.. clearly the lady there knows they will never go out of business (as she shouted at me they been open since the 60's.. apparently serving as no incentive to please customers.. but yea clearly not that happy to be there, short and discourteous.. won't put ketchup on a burger.. then they close for 30min at 1245pm to unload a truck?? Not apologetic about it either.. I snuck in an order for a small milkshake much to her dismay.. and 15min later I got an over flowing massive melting leaking extra large 8$ shake.. just all around bad vibe.

Went there with the family and tried a number of things. The burgers seemed to be from frozen preformed patties, and needed seasoning, however they all did the job. The kids burgers were fine, though they didn't come with any toppings. The sides were excellent. The fries were crispy, the chili was delicious, and the onion rings were battered the way I like them. Milkshakes were the best. The banana one, though flavored woth banana syrup, was reportedly very good. The cookies and cream milkshake had a much higher ratio of cookies to ice cream than I've ever had. I wouldn't go back for just a burger, but the milkshakes and sides were some of the best.

Great ice cream cones. You can split it because it's so big. Burgers are great and so are the fries.

Best shakes. Super thick. Great flavor. Regular size is like a large anywhere else. Always better with malt added. Remember, this is place is: 1. Small. 2. Family run. 3. Been here a long time. 4. Is is South Lake Tahoe. What does that mean? This isn't a suburban Mc Donald's. Food and ice cream will take longer, but it will taste better. If someone calls in sick or gets a flat tire, an immediate replacement is not available. Supplies have to come up that mountain road just like you did. The place will get extra busy when Tahoe is busy. That's ok. Relax. You're on vacation. Enjoy watching the people. Take a short walk. It's worth the wait. Enjoy!

Garbage service. Terrible food. 45 minute wait for 5 items (two table here btw)... not worth the wait. Save your time and go anywhere else.

Ordered two ice cream cones, waited 40 minutes, never got them. Walked up to ask if they had our order after seeing other people get ice cream after our number and was told they were not taking any more orders for the day. When I asked if they could look into my order the only person that they had up front went in back and didn't come back out for another 5 minutes at which point I left. At this point I am seeing the only option as disputing the charge. I can honestly say I have never had service this poor.

We've been coming here for years. The service has completely gone to . But the food is still decent. It used to be a lot better. We still frequent this place. But it would be a lot better if they painted it back to its original blue, they had food in stock, they had people working the register (I have water up to 10 minutes, yelling "hello" before someone has helped me before), the people working there didn't act like they hated every cell in your body, and they didn't scream your order number 5 times in a row before you could even start to get up. Oh and if they were open during the business hours they post. It's really hit or miss. Super unfortunate. One day I hope someone will buy it and bring it back to its former glory! It's a Tahoe staple for sure!

The Good: the fries and the ice cream are very good... Meh-the burgers. We wanted bacon cheese burgers but they ran out of cooked bacon and didn't have time to cook more so we got cheese burgers. They weren't bad but they weren't exceptional either.... The Bad: the wait! We went twice and waited 20 minutes for one ice cream cone and a milkshake and another 40 minutes for four burgers and fries. Had they told us it was going to be forty minutes before we got our food, we probably would have gone somewhere else.

I haven't been to snowflake in a while now, but tonight was not the best at all. The young lady that was working the register didn't even acknowledge that I was there. There was only 1 other guest waiting and it took 35 min for my single order of fries and chicken tenders and they even almost gave me the wrong order.

Food was super bland and not seasoned. Super hard to enjoy and eat. Burgers were overpriced for quality. Super dry . Tasted like cardboard. Chili cheese fries were nice and crispy . Chili seemed canned. I saved a piece of burger for my dog. She hated it too . Honestly I feel like $30 was wasted. Feeling like I should have just gotten some crappy taco bell and that would have been better.

It would be nice if they were actually open during their business hours. Walked in and they said they were closed....at 5:15 on a Friday. Made a special trip with kids for a shake. So disappointing.

We were there over the 4th of July week. The place was extremely understaffed. Service was slow. Even trying to get a cup of water was a 25 minute wait. Totally unacceptable Z don't waste your time and money, go somewhere else. What was once a go to place is now a waste of time. The food was marginal at best.
