A Mixed Bag: Great Food, Painfully Slow Service
(3/5)
We dined at Snooze AM Eatery on a busy Sunday at noon, waitlist call ahead for a table. Despite arriving right on time, we still waited another 30 minutes to be seated--so much for call-ahead seating.
Once we finally sat down, things went downhill on the service front. Our server seemed completely overwhelmed--maybe he was new, maybe the handheld ordering system was tricky, but either way, it was rough. It took him nearly 10 minutes just to put in our orders, and then he disappeared. We waited an excruciating 55 minutes for our meals, which didn't even come out together. One omelet arrived 5 minutes late, and the hashbrowns were an extra 10-minute delay after that. Drink service was just as inconsistent--our first round arrived promptly, but the second round of coffee took 20 minutes, and water refills were practically nonexistent.
That said, the food? Fantastic. A solid 9/10.
What We Loved: Pancake Flight - Brilliant. We did chocolate chip, cinnamon crunch, and a custom banana buttermilk pancake (not on the menu, but they accommodated!). Bacon with Brown Sugar - Sweet and savory perfection. Smashed Avocado Benny - Great flavors, though the tomato slices were huge and overpowered the dish. Habanero Pork Belly Benny - Perfect mix of heat, savory richness, and a touch of sweet from dried cranberries. Keto Breakfast Bowl - Surprisingly delicious! Loved the grilled tomatoes, avocado, chicken patties, and poached eggs (glad they swapped from hardboiled for me). Would skip the carrots if possible--odd flavor choice. Jalapeño & Cheddar Omelet - Cooked perfectly with great balance. English Muffins - Some of the best we've had. Hashbrowns - Options for crispy flat or cone-shaped. A table favorite (though I'm more of a home fries person).
Room for Improvement: Service: A generous 5/10. The long wait times, lack of attention, and forgotten water refills were frustrating. He was super friendly, just think he was overwhelmed Meal Timing: Bringing out dishes in staggered waves isn't ideal, especially with a hungry toddler at the table. Low on Ketchup: Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable.
Final Thoughts:Would I go back? Yes--but only during non-peak hours. And if I saw the same server again, I'd probably request someone else. The food was absolutely worth it, but the service left a lot to be desired.
If you've got time to spare (or patience for slow service), the menu is a winner. If you're in a rush or want a seamless experience, maybe try a weekday visit instead.
