Call Your Mother’s Cute New Peanut Butter Brand Uses a World Cup Country’s Nuts | Eater DC

"A huge indoor dog park and bar called Snouts & Stouts is slated to open next August in Arlington’s Green Valley neighborhood in an 11,000-square-foot warehouse at 2709 S. Oakland Street; construction is planned to start in the spring, dogs will require a $365-per-year membership while humans enter for free, and the concept will include doggy daycare and boarding adjacent to Arlington County’s biggest outdoor dog park." - Tierney Plumb

I took a kiddo to Snouts & Stouts. I dont have a dog just a kiddo obsessed with four legged furry friends so we went on a doggie diner date at Snouts & Stouts after we had visited a doggie meet and greet at Petsmart in Potomac Yards. It was a little rough trying to find the location. It is in an industrial area which makes sense, sorta. We actually found Snouts and Stouts the day before. BUT IT WAS CLOSED with no word on its website so we went back to great delight for the kiddo. If you are going for flash and cash, dont. It is a real live industrial space converted for down and dirty dog play. There is a restriction age for kiddos wanting to enter the play area with the dogs and their owners. There is a separated picnic table place for people that want to dine with people and/or pets. There is a doggie menu, of course. You enter in to the area/ticket office that doubles as a gift shop. The doggie play and dining area is on the second floor accessed via steep stairs. When you get to the top, you either go in with your dog in to the play area or you enter to the left in to the food area. There are multiple televisions broadcasting sports. The doggie play area is loooooooooong, filled with stops and starts for on going doggie play. There are chairs for doggie moms and dads to relax in watching their furbabies at play. The acoustics can be rough. The food was outstanding all things considered. There was a hiccup with my order. Got to give the servers props for tending to the error. In return, when the server returned with the replacement foods, I shared the bonus jonas curly fries to an appreciative doggie family taking a break. There is ample parking. There is a small doggie park across the lot. All in all, we will go back for dogs and dining time.

We went in not realizing that there is no longer a dog park area, only an "on-leash" dining area. However, they are not consistent with their leashing rules. At one point, a dog pooped on the floor (indoors) and while the owner was quick to pick it up, it left the area smelly and uncomfortable. The staff did not assist with sanitizing it or spraying anything to reduce the odor. It was shocking that they did not have sanitary protocols for dogs pooping in the indoor dining area. Overall, the food was alright and service was friendly, but the sanitary practices should be improved.

A great space for dogs to play and interact with each other! They had great decorations for their St. Patrick’s Day celebration. There were a ton of options for human food and dog treats. Staff were very friendly and helpful with monitoring the dogs.

Google
Staff were incredibly helpful and patient with our dogs. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a chill spot to enjoy a drink or dinner with your pup, or come along and enjoy the bar and meet some fun dogs. Great spot to socialize the animals, regardless of if you are just looking to let your dog meet some friends or need an opportunity to help train your pup in proper socialization.

We just recently visited Snouts and Stouts for the first time a few weeks ago and it was the perfect decision for our dog Bailey. The establishment is kept very clean and all of the dogs have a great time playing. The staff there is very friendly and professional. Daniel the owner is very hands on and involved with the business and the customers. Most importantly is that Bailey really loves it and has a blast each time we go and gets excited when we get close to the place. Also it is very affordable for what they offer.

I cannot say enough great things about this indoor dog park! I drive 40 minutes to go there at least twice a week (that’s how great it is) My corgi, Maverick, has attended their doggy daycare and had an absolute blast. He came home exhausted from playing all day and swimming in their pool. The staff went above and beyond, sending me pictures and videos of his day, which gave me so much peace of mind. I’ve always had a fear of dog parks, but this one truly stands out—they assess each dog’s temperament before allowing them to interact, which makes me feel completely comfortable leaving Maverick there. I wholeheartedly trust this place with my dog and am so thankful for the care they provide! Can’t forget to mention, you can also get a margarita while watching the pups play!!!

Update (2025): Really bummed to see Canine Cardio’s involvement in this establishment. They are not a trustworthy business and I’ve seen many incidents with their staff and dogs they brought into local Alexandria/Arlington parks over the years. I would use extreme caution with Canine Cardio—I’ve witnessed more than enough things to never trust my dog in their hands. I was very impressed by everything! Huge space (two levels for dogs to run around), staff was exceptional and the cider was great. It’s a dog park so it can smell, dogs will urinate and defecate inside, and it can become noisy. That being said, they have a dog police to keep things in order and are very quick to clean up after the dogs. My Australian Shepherd got a little overwhelmed by the noise/quantity of people/dogs so it might not be the best place for dogs who get easily scared or overwhelmed, but is perfect for a cold and rainy day. Hats off for pulling this place off—have yet to see any indoor park for dogs of this quality! I do wish toys were allowed, but completely understand how they can be a huge liability with possessive dogs.

Google
We had such a great experience during our first visit! The staff was so welcoming and did a phenomenal job of making every dog and owner comfortable and safe! They were so on top of it when it came to ensuring dog safety and also cleaning up any bathroom incidents within seconds! We were able to relax and have a drink while our dog played with the other furry friends and didn’t have to worry or stress about their well being ! They even gave out pup cups for our dog friend’s birthday to all and got the party going with a bubble machine! Highly recommend a visit to all who want to have a good time surrounded by good people!

Yelp
Since we wanted to venture outside of our regular dog park, we found wonderful indoor doggy playground and human bar/restaurant in Arlington. I have to say that our young pup had a complete BLAST, so it definitely was worth the hour drive for our visit. The doggy playground is a pretty large space that has various obstacle courses apparatuses that dogs can attempt to conquer while playing with other dogs. I really appreciated that Snouts & Stouts' layout was pretty well organized. I thought the rules for both humans and dogs were pretty fair. Also, we really appreciated the speed in which our dog's vaccination records were verified. We managed to email our dog's vet records and have them confirmed within an hour of our first visit. Unlike most regular dog parks, Snouts & Stouts had a couple of folks (aka "rufferees") to ensure that everyone was having a good time. I loved the idea of the rufferees because it is a great way to have an unbiased person regulate the playground. As one might suspect, some owners can be super-sensitive or super-lax regarding their dog's behaviors and interactions with other dogs and humans. The playground has a separate place from the play ground where humans and dogs can consume their food. However, folks are permitted to consume beverages in the main playing area. The bar had an extensive variety of fun beverages for both humans and dogs. I thought the beers and cocktails were reasonable priced considering the area. Unfortunately, the chef was unavailable during our visit so we could not try any of the human food. A minor issue for me because I was STARVING. Fortunately for my appetitive, Snouts and Stouts had plenty of beers (particularly IPAs) that I could choose from. In general, I thought the playground was pretty clean and well-maintained. While the area was not super clean, it defiantly was 100% cleaner than any outdoor dog park. During our visit, I did notice that there was a mop bucket with soapy water near the dogs' water stations. While the mop bucket wasn't a huge deal, I thought it was a little strange that it was in that location considering a dog or two could have access to the soapy water. Perhaps, this was a minor oversight by the staff. I thought the price of entry (10 bucks for a day pass) was extremely generous. Also, if you purchase $40 worth of food and drinks (as of July 2025), you'll receive a free day pass for your next visit. Looking forward to making Snouts and Stouts a nice treat for our dog...as well as ourselves.

Yelp
5/5 because they have dogs! Came here to grab some food and drinks and hang out with the doggies. The inside has plenty of space and there's a little fenced space for people to eat food without the dogs coming in. You can drink in the dog area though. The owners dogs are also so sweet and cute!

Yelp
Great spot to have beers and bring the dogs! I thought it was tough because they have a separate food area from dog area. I understand why they do this but do think people could manage a limited menu out there so their dogs can still play. Food was great and good beer selection. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Came here on a bike ride. It's not that far off from the WO&D trail in Shirlington, and very conveniently right next to the park. There isn't really a bar upstairs, but tables for you and your dogs to hang out. There is a food and drink menu. We ordered an old fashion, which was okay but in a really small cup. The price didn't seem worth it for the size of the drink. Would probably just go with a beer next time. The park area was nice for dogs indoors on the second floor. A lot of the other dogs are quite friendly. I personally don't have a dog, but this is a nice spot for dog lovers to gather and hang out with others in a somewhat enclosed covered area. There are also some ramps and tubes for the dogs to run through, which was nice.

Yelp
Great daycare service for my corgi m, he enjoys play time, puzzles, and maybe even the treadmill.

Yelp
Great place for those crappy weather days or if you want some human food/drink while your pups enjoy off leash time. The upstairs is definitely a good size. They have a great variety of alcoholic and non- alcoholic drinks, smoothies and some food. The fries are great! Would definitely recommend that. There's also a dog menu with treats from Dogma Bakery and puppucinos. They do have a 1 dog per human policy. For a 2 dog household it's not always possible to grab someone to come so I can take both of them which is unfortunate for me.

Yelp
The staff is so helpful and informative The food is good too! Fun place to go especially when the weather gets colder. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Snouts & Stouts is an awesome indoor dog park that just opened in Shirlington (where New District brewery used to be)! Dogs and humans need to check in on the wall mounted iPads before going inside the fenced areas. I recommend downloading the App ahead of time and even checking in beforehand to speed up the check-in process. Once inside there are 2 floors of fun play areas for you and your pup. There's a small dog area upstairs and even a balcony area for pups to explore. There's a snack bar with some pretty yummy food (tenders, wings, tots, salads and more). There is also a decent selection of canned beers, cocktails & wines to enjoy. Humans can come in for free, dogs $10 for a day pass. They also have annual memberships and boarding. This place is great and I definitely recommend it for dog owners & dog lovers!

Yelp
If you care about your dog - take them to snouts and stouts. The owner, his family, and staff (Brittany is amazing) are on deck. Trust me, Dan truly cares - and I think my dog was one of his first customers. I took my dog to a competitor franchise close by and I'm done with them after 16 years. I understand Dan is working out some kinks as a business owner- but trust me - he is responsive, cares. Is flexible - and doing the right things. I just returned from. An overseas trip and my baby boxer is exhausted. She did swimming, treadmill, agility - yeah- she's out. I can't wait to work with Dan and his growing team because I know my girl is good in their care. No franchise - Local business - Snouts all the way!!!

Yelp
We had a great time and so did our dog! Food and drinks were super tasty, staff was so friendly, and all the dogs were having fun. The rufferees also did a great job keeping the dogs safe without stopping the fun.

Yelp
My pup and I had the best time! The owners of S&S were so sweet and gave me so much information on all of their programs. Food, drinks, and service were all great! 10/10 I will definitely be coming back!! Thanks Brittney and Daniel!

Yelp
I really debated posting this review because I know people need businesses like this. But after speaking with the manager, Dan, I felt like I need to. We were regulars at Bark Social and since they closed we were looking for an alternative. So we tried this out. But I do not think this place is safe. We were there on a weekend and there was a terrible dog fight. I didn't see what started it, but a dog latched onto a young dog and would not let go. The owner of the dog who was attacked was on the floor with his dog screaming "help me" over and over for what seemed like an eternity. (I cannot describe how horrible this was -- my wife and I cried the whole way home and I still can hear it in my mind.) Three customers came over to pull the dog who was latched on off of the dog being attacked and other customers came to pull dogs out of the melee. But it was not clear that any employees were helping. (Dan later said he was one of the people pulling the latched on dog off, but since he wasn't wearing anything identifying him as an employee or manager we had no way of knowing). After a couple of agonizing minutes I saw the employee who was taking orders for drinks get some kind of tool to seperate the dogs. He was not moving with particular urgency and it sounded like the fight was already finished. I am not certain what happened to the dogs, but, as we were leaving, employees were mopping blood off the floor. Also, the dog who latched on had already been involved a fight maybe 30 minutes before this happened, but was allowed to stay. Yes, dog fights happen. I get that. (For 14 years I had a reactive dog, who I didn't bring to dog parks.) But they seemed signifantly understaffed. Besides the two employees running food there only seemed to be one employee with the dogs. And there were a lot of dogs. Maybe there were more employees, but another problem was that the employees were not wearing anything -- like a shirt or name tag -- that identified they were employees. So you didn't know who to see for help. And, at Bark Social employees all wore branded shirts and they wore belts with tools -- like whistles, airhorns, and bite sticks -- that they could use if things popped off. The employees here had nothing. I saw dog tussles start at Bark Social -- but when they did an employee would whistle, all the employees would come running to help and one blast of the airhorn usually ended the dog fight. I never heard a dog dad having to scream "help me!" I went in a few days later and spoke to Daniel about it. And his response vacillated between "these things happen" and "that is the first time this happened." He was pretty dismissive and I did not get the sense he was taking any of this seriously. Finally he asked me "what I wanted from him." Well, I don't want any more dogs hurt at your establishment. And unless they are better staffed and employees better trained, I don't think it is safe. On another less serious but kind of gross note, we saw the guy bringing our drinks also picking up dog crap. I assume he washed his hands in between. But not what you want to see. I really don't like to slam small businesses. Dan -- once things are in place that make things safer let me know and I will take this review down.

Yelp
The staff is great! They are so helpful and made my experience so user friendly. My lil pup loves when they come to pick her up too!

Yelp
My dog, Lady, absolutely LOVES attending Snouts and Stouts! It makes me so happy that she spends her day playing and exercising with the other dogs. Every member of the Snouts & Stouts team is not only friendly and kind to my dog, but also goes above and beyond to give her lots of attention!

Jenny R.

Yelp
I used the boarding services with Snouts and Stouts. We had an evaluation at their site in Arlington and were told that our dogs would come to the play area every day. During the night, they would go to the boarding site where they have over an acre of land to play in. 1. Our dogs were not picked up by the dog bus, as we were told, instead by someone in their personal car. 2. We can track our dogs these days and it seems that our dogs only went to Snouts and Stouts on the first day. The other two days, our dogs were tracked at some house in Alexandria and never left that house. Nor was there an acre of land, maybe a postage stamp size yard. 3. We were booked for a 12pm drop-off. Noon came, 1pm came... no dogs. We contacted the service and were told that our dogs would be dropped off around 3pm. I'm not understanding how a noon drop-off equals 3pm? 4. Our dogs came home sick: one was diarrhea and the other vomiting. Our dogs left us in perfect health. I'm thinking they got into something at this random house. I would not use the boarding service at Snouts and Stouts ever again.

EB N.

Yelp
There isn't a bar upstairs in the dog run area. One server has to run the food and drinks up the stairs. The stairs are steep and dirty. The "agility ramps" are flimsy and there are just two of them. The website says it's an indoor dog park but it is more like an indoor dog room. It's good for the business but when I was there, it was too crowded and almost dangerously so with lots of people and all sizes of dogs being silly and active. It was sort of overwhelming and challenging to navigate and it wasn't immediately clear how to order food and drinks.

Yelp
Snouts and Stouts paid real attention to Frankie when he stayed for Daycare. They gave him the cutest report card which was handwritten. The note written on it and his score showed they clearly paid attention to him because it matched his personality perfectly. I'd recommend Snouts & Stouts wholeheartedly.

Lindsey L.

Yelp
My 1year old puppy, Colby, LOVES going to Snouts & Stouts for daycare and boarding! He loves getting the pack to chase him, walking on the treadmill and aplaying with interactive games! When we pull up he can't seem to get out of the car and in the front door fast enough! Brittany, Daniel and the rest of the team are great with the dogs!

Yelp
A great, spacious indoor dog park where you can have a great time while your dog has the best time. The staff is very attentive and there good food and drinks to enjoy.

Mark M.

Yelp
Snouts and Stouts is truly a great place. A hidden gem in Arlington for dog owners. My dog absolutely loves the enormous space and room to run. The staff is great and will give helpful advice for controlling your dog in different situations. They have food and drinks as well. Nothing to dislike about this place. For first time dog owners it's always a little nerve wracking to bring your dog to a place like this for the first time. But if your dog is sociable and friendly you have nothing to worry about.

Gabriella S.

Yelp
Snouts and Stouts is the best indoor dog park of all time! I took my puppy to snouts and stouts for a daycare session and he absolutely loved it! I was able to enjoy a nice night out with some friends and not have to worry about my puppy being alone, which was great. When I picked him up I enjoyed seeing how much fun he was having with all of his new furry friends! He will definitely sleep soundly tonight, thanks to Snouts and Stouts! The staff is wonderful and very kind, and the food is delicious! My personal favorite are the sliders and smoothies! You gotta check this place out! We will definitely be back!

Andrew S.

Yelp
Snouts and stouts was truly a great experience. The staff was attentive, the food was wonderful, and the vibes were off the charts. With plenty of space and fun for the pups it also provides entertainment for the dog owners, making it the perfect combination. My experience was more than 5 stars and I plan on coming back time and time again.

Jackie S.

Yelp
Love this place and so does our pup! It's a bit of a drive from us so we started with day passes, but we quickly found that a membership was MORE than worth it. All of the staff is super nice and attentive, all areas are clean, and the cafe/bar has a great selection of food and drinks. I am also loving the addition of lunch hours. Whenever we are there, the other humans and dogs that are there are nice, and the dogs all generally play really well together! Definitely a place that we are excited to go (yes, we have fun too) several times a week and suggest to everyone!

Chris M.

Yelp
Wonderful place to bring your pup and grab a quick bite and some drink. The employees were very nice and kept the place clean. I especially love all the cool events they have!

Hannah C.

Yelp
The idea is great but the safety of the dogs and humans is lacking. I know I tried it out in possibly their busiest day to date, but I was uncomfortable with the "dog staff" and their dealings with altercations. Slamming dog bowls together is not the way to get a group of dogs to stop barking and biting at each other. The place already smelled and did not have the same sanitation protocols of similar establishments when it came to urine and poop. Please train your staff, up your bleaching game, and take notes from other similar businesses when it comes to safety/entry/capacity protocols. I have hope but this is not a safe environment currently. We were there less than 30 minutes and ended up opting for the Shirlington dog park for a romp around and then a beer at a nearby restaurant.
