"Bingsu is a fluffy-cloudlike Korean dessert best described as milky shaved ice with sweet toppings, and Pacific Northwestern-chain Snowy Village is bringing it to the masses on North Vancouver with a mix of traditional and contemporary varieties, all stacked impossibly high. Popular picks include taro and black sesame, but the layered blueberry or fruity pebble encrusted options get just as much love. The piping hot, made-to-order taiyaki pastries come in an equally extensive range of flavors, from red bean paste to Nutella to cheesy pesto." - Krista Garcia, Lauren Yoshiko

"Portland’s North Vancouver location of this bingsu chain starts with a foundation of frozen milk and condensed milk, which it freezes and shaves thoroughly to resemble its namesake. Snowy Village certainly offers plenty of classic options for bingsu, topping the shaved ice with red bean, rice cakes, and roasted soybean powder; however, Snowy Village’s fruit flavors — layered with mango, blueberry, or strawberry compotes and whipped cream — tend to be the more popular option. To make it a full meal, add one of the shop’s savory taiyaki." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

The bingsoo itself was great. Different flavors and toppings with good ice consistency. However the store itself was lacking. Very small space with not much seating and trash bin completely overflowing… did not get the feeling that store cleanliness was a priority at all.

I love bingsoo so I'm always excited when I find it. My husband and I shared a mango in the larger size as well as a custard taiyaki. The mango topping was fantastic. It also comes with condensed milk and whipped cream. The center of the ice could use a bit more toppings. The taiyaki was really good. One thing I didn't like was the ordering process. You order on a tablet, which is fine with me. The issue I have is that it asks if you want to add whipped, cream, condensed milk, and other toppings without making it clear that these already come on it. We paid for extra for when we wouldn't have if we had known it was already on there.

The desserts here are amazing. We loved the taro and black sesame, both with red bean, yum!! Portions are huge! Great flavor and creative arrangement for full flavor. It was busy, but not overly, and needed cleaning up. Tables, chairs and floors were dirty.

The family was very excited to try this place out and it didn't disappoint. The watermelon dish was so good, not super sweet and refreshing! We would definitely be back if we lived in the area. Be different, and try some place new :).

Last night, I ventured into Snowy Village after dinner, not knowing quite what to expect but hoping for a delightful dessert experience. And oh, did it deliver! The staff at Snowy Village were not only warm and welcoming, but also incredibly patient and helpful as I hesitated between the tempting Oreo flavor and the vibrant fruity pebbles. Choosing was a challenge, but satisfaction was guaranteed! The dessert I picked was nothing short of spectacular. Each bite was a perfect blend of flavor and texture that melted deliciously in my mouth. I savored every spoonful and regretted nothing! It's not often you find a place that not only meets but exceeds your expectations, and Snowy Village did just that. For anyone in the area or just passing through, I wholeheartedly recommend stopping by Snowy Village. It's a perfect spot for anyone looking to indulge in something uniquely delightful and a little less traditional. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

The atmosphere is good, very clean, although the bathroom lock reads vacant all the time. I tried to open the door when someone was already in it, so that's not good. Also, what I ordered didn't match the picture, so I feel like I was cat fished from the picture. It also had beans on it. It was not a good combination. There should be a description of each flavor of what they contain. There are other regular flavors, like oreos, that I'll definitely get next time.

The shaved Korean ice at Snowy Village is a refreshing treat that stands out as the best in town. This dessert spot elevates the traditional Korean bingsu experience with its flawless execution and innovative flavor combinations. The finely shaved ice is light and airy, creating a melt-in-your-mouth sensation that perfectly complements the range of toppings offered. The variety of choices allows you to customize your dessert to suit your personal taste. Not only is the quality of the ingredients exceptional, but the presentation is also a feast for the eyes. The colorful and artfully arranged toppings make each serving a work of art. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, providing top-notch service that enhances the overall experience. For anyone seeking a cool, sweet treat, the shaved Korean ice at Snowy Village is a must-try. It's the perfect choice to beat the heat or simply indulge in a delicious and unique dessert.

Food is great!! Fruit is so sweet! But they can get pretty busy during summer times so a service can be slow. Not enough seating.

Jessica C.

Yelp
CUTE LITTLE DESSERT SHOP! We ordered the taro shaved ice and yum!! I would love to go back and try more off the menu. I highly recommend if you're looking for something sweet but TOO sweet!

Deedee C.

Yelp
Taiyakis were ok and bingsoo was photogenic and the injeolmi powder was delicious. What I wasn't a fan of was the dirtiness of the place. This could be due to low staff and the width of the container the dessert was served in. Chairs and table were sticky and not cleaned for the next guests. And the guests don't clean up after themselves either. I could see how the container style supports people dripping melted sweetness outside the container. So maybe one suggestion would be to provide containers with larger widths so people drip less. Either that or figure out how to keep the place cleaner

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Korean pot bingsu and this place is pretty close. It's almost a mash up of Hawaiian snow and Korean dessert version. It's very young, trendy. The place is bright, energetic with that insta vibe. Order at big kiosk, the favorite seems to be the fresh mango one. They have various toppings for extra charge and sizes. Ours was a medium and enough for two people. It's pricey in terms of dessert but you only live once right?

Yelp
You certainly get your money's worth here. My wife and I went sometime last year and it was great once we got our orders. It's such a great value for what you get, compared with other similar spots. The only thing regrettable is not realizing how humongous a regular sized order is. And what a spectacle it can be when they finally bring out your order. When we went, it happened to be during the busy time. So it was literally a mad house. Kids screaming, everybody yelling and trying to hear each other. It was cramped inside.... very unpleasant IMO. I won't knock it though. That's just proof of how successful they are. As a consumer, I can just learn a quieter time to show up. If I show up, that is. I'm not a fan of the trip there from where I live. But if you live on that side of town and you haven't been yet.... Well, you're missing out. You gotta go at least once.

Yelp
Tasty Bingsoo! Minimalist spot with a few tables. Got the Injeolmi Bingsoo Lite Size and it's a nice little treat for two people. We thought the flavors were good but some part were bland/lacking. Maybe the more syrup-y options would have been better? We did like the mochi and red bean paste though.

Natalie A.

Yelp
A bit overpriced for one dessert, and the atmosphere was too bright and loud for my liking. Good red beans and such though.

Samy S.

Yelp
Snowy village was sooo YUMMY! I came here with my boyfriend on a busy Saturday, and waited for about 20 mins for our shave ice desserts. The place is small and has outdoor seating as well. I can't imagine during the summer, of when it will be packed here! We ordered the shave ice Oreo and the black sesame on a screen tab. The Oreo was my favorite!! The shave ice was soft and flavorful. I will be coming back to try different flavors!

Yelp
I've officially become a bingsoo and taiyaki addict after eating here 3 days in a row. I could hit this place up for another week and still not get sick of it. Bingsoo is so light and easy to eat. I'm not sure if they use artificial ingredients here but the fruit bingsoo tastes especially refreshing. I think the mochi on the injeolmi bingsoo could've been softer but it still added some nice diversity in textures. The taiyaki is made by order and comes out hot. The custard and red bean filling are great but my fav so far is the Nutella. They have plenty of seating inside and 2 tables outside. This place can get packed so you aren't guaranteed a spot. There's this weird fence area in front of the store that could house more tables imo. Maybe they will add more when the weather gets nicer because it feels like a missed opportunity to showcase their popularity.

Jordan B.

Yelp
If you want Bingsu this is the place to go. I'll admit it's not my favorite desert in the whole world but the experience is great and they have fresh made taiyaki. It's a kiosk order system and they call your number when ready. They have lots of options and even discounts if you bundle certain sizes which is awesome. Staff are great, food is great! The seating is limited as it gets crazy busy, but it's definitely a must try if you want to experience Korean shaved milk!

Alex N.

Yelp
Overall: Don't order the sweet "taiyaki". The bingsu is pretty nice tho, especially late night. Service is quick, and there's decent amt of indoor seating. Good: They have a bingsu deal where you can bundle a 2nd "mini" bingsu for ~$2-3 off the second. Kinda cool if you want to try multiple flavors. The mango was sweet. Bad: I did not like the taiyaki. Much larger than I expected, with lots of excess fried pastry. It really is just puff pastry pressed into a fish-shape. The filling is blazing hot when it comes out, so be prepared. I imagine the savory ones. Also, the bingsu is really hard to eat cleanly - it's a tower of whipped cream and stuff that often just topples over (not a huge issue, but just messy). Ugly: For some reason, it seemed the custard I got in my taiyaki did not taste like anything. Just some sort of weird molten paste.

Yelp
I ordered the mango bingsoo and it was so yummy! Definitely satisfied our dessert craving after dinner. The portions are pretty big too. Their tayaki looks really good! The store is clean and bright with plenty of seating inside and outside. You order through the big touch screen menu. Parking might be tough since it's only street parking I believe but luckily a spot opened right in front for us.

Alea A.

Yelp
CHEESE. Is the smell you're hit with immediately upon entering. Although off-putting to some, you quickly get used to it. Expect to order through a kiosk that automatically includes a 15% tip even though there is no table service besides them bringing the dessert to you. Everything else is self serve (water, utensils, napkins, and bus station). You'll have to manually select "custom" tip and type in 0 to avoid the added fee. It's true that the tables are often not very clean and that the bathroom is a little janky (there is a top sliding lock but the bottom lock that changes "vacant" to "occupied" is broken so you might get some door rattles while you're using the restroom, or vice versa). The space is cutely decorated and they always have chill / relaxed r&b and pop hits which creates a soft and casual setting. Although Snowy Village has shortcomings, their desserts make up for it. The bingsoo is ever so soft and provides that subtle, milky burst of dopamine. The fresh fruit toppings complement the sweet shaved ice. The ones in my pictures are the Fruity Pebbles, Mixed Berry, and Taro but my favorites are the Mango and Strawberry Bingsoo. Aside from the shaved ice, the taiyaki is always fresh and acts as a perfect snack to eat there or take to go. The neighborhood is surrounded with residential street parking so it's usually a fine time to find parking but it can be tough during peak hours (ex: summer or weekends). I've never seen the line out the door or had trouble finding a table but others have so it's something to take note of. Despite the quirks that come with visiting Snowy Village, the korean shaved ice holds a special place in my heart! Especially since bingsoo is rare or even unheard of in the Portland area.

Yelp
Omg!!! If you have a big sweet tooth or just a big love for Taiyaki yum!! This is the place. I was pleased to have found this place as im a huge Taiyaki person. The ordering process was super quick. They have a screen you order and they bring it to your table!!! Love how amazing and cute this shop is. Service was great too!! :)

Kathy M.

Yelp
This was my first time here. Luckily it was a 90 degrees day at dinner time. So ...not much of a line. We ordered a regular mango and regular taro. Extra $5 each. From a small to medium. And my friend ordered a Nutella Taiyaki. There is only one kiosk to order the desserts. Luckily we found a table to sit and wait for our number. They brought out our mango and taro ones. The Taiyaki came out later and it was so good. Hot Nutella sandwich. It was definitely a fun belated birthday dessert for me.

Yelp
Let's talk shaved ice: it's addictive AF. Regardless of rain, heatwave, snowpocolypse: expect to see a long wait at this place. The people will come. The inner decor is super cute, but don't expect good seating as this place fills up. Not recommended for larger groups of 4. You will have issues finding seats. A ton of youth go here as it's akin to a cool bubble tea hang out spot. So expect the chairs and what not to be kind of 'trashed' or sticky. The workers here are young people and a small staff so they don't have time inbetween the huge crowds to stay on top of cleaning. You will see: - an overflowing garbage can - sticky messes on a table that aren't cleaned - a broken bathroom door that someone's friend is guarding Now that this is out of the way let's talk food!!! I've eaten all kinds of shaved ice from Hawaiian, Taiwanese, Japanese, and Korean. I prefer Korean style shaved ice as it has a milky base (the shaved ice here is made with a milk base). If you're a noob to this stick with strawberry or mango, all the fruit here is cut fresh by staff so they have limited quantities of fruit flavored shaved ice. I love the strawberry and mango. The black sesame is also really nice if you like roasted nuts. GET A SINGLE SERVING! You can either solo it or it's great for sharing. But if you get a double prefer to freeze your yitties off. It's a lot. Taiyaki; For those who are new to the crispy fish looking cakes these originated in Japan and are popular all around Asia. They come in all kinds of filing from red bean, to custard, or chocolate. This place uses a croissant flakey puff pastry batter so expect it to be a lil more buttery than your traditional waffle based Taiyaki. They use pretty high quality ingredients for these lil fish guys (not made with real fish). I highly recommend the custard or chocolate if you're just trying this for the first time. Overall I hope they can expand into a larger space, put in better operational systems (even a bus your own table thing), and better policies on damaged furniture. But yes if you come here in the summer expect to suffer a wait longer than 45 mins.

Yelp
I've come here with friends for dessert now a couple times and it's great! I was ecstatic when I heard that a Snowy Village was going to open in Portland last year (as I typically go to Snowy Village each time I'm in Seattle), and I went to it within the first week. Since then, I've come back quite a few times but not as much as I expected. The inside of the shop can get a bit crowded depending on when you go, and when it's especially busy, the tables can easily get sticky as they aren't cleaned often during those times. Regardless, the bingsu and the taiyaki here are delicious. You order at a kiosk and wait about 10-15 minutes (depending on how busy it is) for your order to be called out. The bingsu comes in a huge portion and a regular can easily feed 2-3 people. While it's not overly sweet, it leans on the heavier side due to the amount of condensed milk there is. There's a variety of options as well leaning between fruity flavors (such as watermelon and strawberry), heavier flavors (such as chocolate and cheesecake), and more traditional/Asian flavors (such as match and injeolmi). They're all delicious. I highly recommend trying this spot out at least once.

Andrew A.

Yelp
Liked it, but didn't love it. First, there were cases of condensed milk on the counter, and the area where you bus your stuff was cluttered. Overall, the interior looks and feels unkept. Other reviews have expressed similar sentiment! If you don't consume the Bingsoo fast enough then you're left with an unappetizing mess. The whipped cream tasted processed. Lastly, I wish they'd offer a much smaller version for a lower price. The trend with desserts is small, but they've gone the other way. You order using a large touchscreen, but i didn't see any hand sanitizer. Gross. That said, I'd go back if I had a craving, but it's not the kind of place I'd automatically stop if there was a rock star parking space available.

Sara N.

Yelp
I had the strawberry bingsoo a few months back and it was good. Came back recently again trying other flavors and all were good! Sweetness of the toppings are balanced out with the milk-based flavor. It's pretty much a self order spot with utensils out to get yourself too.

Nico B.

Yelp
What a fun treat! I had a blast hanging out here with friends several weeks ago. The menu is a bit confusing, especially with the added complication of ordering from a kiosk. However, the staff answered any questions we had and we loved what we ended up with. The portions are HUGE! My husband and I shared our dessert and it was more than enough. The snow melts quickly and makes a bit of a mess, so be prepared with a few extra napkins. We arrived late after dinner on a very chilly night, and the door wouldn't stay closed. It kept blowing open and cooled the place down considerably. It was a very PNW experience huddled together wearing coats, hats and gloves eating frozen dessert! I love it!

Amanda M.

Yelp
To see a Bingsoo shop in Portland is exciting! To order you can click a large screen and place your order. There's really no one at the front helping with orders, rather the staff is in the kitchen making the orders. The orders take a while to come out and there is not much seating in the shop. We had to wait until a table cleared to get a seat. Unfortunately, there's nothing to clean the tables people used previously so some parts of our table were sticky. We cleaned with some water and paper towels. This shop is decently aesthetic and there's street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. There's also outside seating but in the winter with Bingsoo, not the best idea. For what we tried here, we got their split cup since we wanted to try more flavors. Got the fruity pebbles, cheesecake, mango and strawberry Bingsoo. I like their Bingsoo, it's shaved really nicely, but everything started melting super quickly. Fruity pebbles - tasted like cereal and sweet milk. Originally was not a fan of it since we thought it was literally fruity pebbles cereal and the shaved milk. However as we ate more, we found that it had fruit mixed in but we couldn't see it such as fresh strawberry and blueberries. Cheesecake Bingsoo - it had frozen cheesecake and graham cracker bits in the Bingsoo. Mango Bingsoo - fresh mango with whipped cream, then mango throughout which was very good. I'm surprised they were offering mango since it's January...but the mango wasn't sour, it was sweet. One of my favorites Strawberry Bingsoo - fresh strawberries with whipped cream, and strawberries throughout the Bingsoo. The strawberries were also sweet. Definitely my favorite one. Overall, I'm a fan of the fruit Bingsoo flavors over the non fruit ones that I tried. Will come back to try their watermelon one when it's in season.

Binh T.

Yelp
We got the strawberry and matcha shaved ice and the size came out pretty large for a 1 person serving. I would say it's perfect dessert for 2. We also ordered taiyaki custard and pizza and that was really good. Pretty impressed with the quality as i found it's hard to find a good Asian bingsoo (shaved ice) place in Portland. Highly recommend this place :)

Christina N.

Yelp
I tried the Oreo and Strawberry Bingsoo along with the custard Taiyaki. The bingsoo was decent, mostly a ball of ice with a scoop of ice cream, strawberries, and Oreo crumbs on top. The taiyaki is what I recommend but despite this, I'm unlikely to return for it. Like several other Yelpers mentioned, the tables were filthy, only one touchscreen was available for ordering (which defaults to a 15% tip), and the enormous screen for everyone to see your personal details. At least they provide Clorox wipes for paying customers to clean their own tables.

Amanda N.

Yelp
Definitely recommend if you're craving sweets. It's not too sweet & the ingredients are fresh. We ordered two larges for 3 people, which we couldn't finish. I definitely want to go back to try other flavors. There's some seatings indoor and outdoor and it can get packed. Flavors: Black sesame: 5/5! Watermelon: 6/5! Super refreshing and loved the watermelon chunks

Naly S.

Yelp
Finding parking is so difficult here, and the line is always out the door even if the weather isn't the greatest. While there's a self checkout touch screen, it still doesn't help the line move any faster. The inside seating is limited you're better off going outside to eat if the weather isn't terrible. The plus is that they really pack on the shaved ice and toppings, but it melts so so fast that typically you're left with milk by the time you're remotely at the bottom of finishing. Flavors are okay. Their fish shaped pastries are pretty good and consistent.

Deb K.

Yelp
We tried this chain in Seattle and were pleasantly surprised to find them in walking distance from Eem. You have to order off a kiosk and that takes time to figure out. You can get a second lite size for $4.99, so good deal but the kiosk won't let you select another flavor so you have to ask after completing your order. Got crowded quick as seating is limited and no highchair in sight so just be prepared. Just as good as Seattle so we are very excited they are here in Portland!

Gloria T.

Yelp
It looks better than it taste because the inner part is just ice and doesn't have the flavored powder or fruits. The ice itself is blended with sweet milk, but it's not the smoothest or tastiest. The taiyaki was burnt, didn't look or taste like what it's suppose to be. They shouldn't even be selling this for money until they figure out how to properly make this. This place was extremely crowded with a long line since it was a hot summer day. There is limited seat. There is self service water. It is self service order on this huge screen where everyone can see your order and phone number that you're required to input. You'll have to wipe your own table as well. Street parking.

Kim K.

Yelp
You order on a huge screen in the lobby. The screen autotips 15% - which is interesting since there really isn't much service happening to tip for (see table info below). We ate in and every single table was pretty gross. They were all covered in ice cream and toppings and it didn't look like anyone could be bothered to clean them. We tried to clean our own table with napkins and were mildly successful. It would be nice if there was a more efficient way to clean the tables ourselves, perhaps some wet wipes. The food was tasty but overflowing in the cup which made it a bit hard to eat and super messy. We tried both the strawberry flavor and the milk flavor. The strawberry was loaded with whip cream and tasty fresh strawberries. The milk featured red bean, rice cakes, and almonds. Of the two I would get the milk flavor again. I would come back and get this to go next time!

Iris L.

Yelp
100% recommend if you like milky shave ice, it's milky with every bite Taro so far has been our favorite after matcha Taiyaki is a must!! super crispy and delicious! Highly recommend nutella. we tried custard and it wasn't the custard i'm used to from eating Hk style eggtart and when compared to nutella, nutella was they're opened till later in the evening as compared to other shave ice places, however this is more of bingsu style than Hawaiian shave ice. Go give a try and see what you like and it's a nice places to chill in evening hours with friends. Can get very packed in summertime! Tip: grab a seat/table while others go up to kiosk and order! There is beverage station with ice water, plastic cups and napkins and utensils also.

Kevin P.

Yelp
Overhype. Had a failed location in San Jose, they moved to PDX and honestly still a disappointment. Cons: - All street parking, test your luck. - broken bathroom door lock - limited seating - unable to customize order (such as remove toppings) Pros: - Ordering is pretty easy, giant tablet - service is fast, got our dessert within 10 minutes of ordering - strawberry snow: 2/5, heavy syrup - ube snow: 3/5

Lakshmi M.

Yelp
4 for the snow and a solid solid 5 for the taiyaki so truly wish I could go with a 4.5 here. Snowy Village was my absolute favorite shaved snow place in Seattle so I was ecstatic when I heard it was opening in Portland! There really aren't too many spots for shaved snow here so yayay~ I dropped by with a couple friends an entire month after this spot opened and the line and seating were still INSANE. We went right when it opened so we thankfully snagged a spot. I went back more recently and it was still a complete zoo. My friend and I awkwardly sat on some side chairs and tried to eat without spilling somehow. I can't blame people since the desserts are definitely good but wonder if there's anything they can do to somehow support more seating/space. You order at the kiosk -- all electronically and then they'll bring out your items/call out your number while doing so. Even where this is a long line, I would say that they move through the orders pretty darn quickly! Be warned that even the smaller size is quite big so keep that in mind if you're ordering multiple. I've had the mango bingu and the matcha bingsu as well as the custard taiyaki. Hottest take here -- matcha bingsu was waaay better than the mango bingsu. I felt like the mango bingsu didn't have enough flavor and was actually a bit lackluster. The second time I went, I got the matcha bingsu and was super happy -- good flavor, not too sweet, delicious dessert times. The taiyaki was INSANE and my husband really liked the savory taiyaki he tried! All in all, a very solid dessert spot -- be ready for some street parking and definitely a line/limited seating, but otherwise get your taste buds ready to enjoy!

Megan C.

Yelp
overall: 3.5/5 food: 3.5/5 service: N/A ambiance: 3.5/5 i still stand by my sentiment: black sesame bingsoo is the way to go! i recently came by with a friend and got the strawberry bingsoo. it was not bad, but i'm not a fan of the syrup or the whipped cream used for the fruit series- hence, i enjoy black sesame! cleanliness wise, they have gotten a lot better and keeping the place clean, but this could be due to there being fewer patrons in the winter time. however, the tables are still sticky and have syrup / taiyaki residue from the last time i came. they no longer have wet wipes out to wipe the tables down from what it seems like. despite the establishment appearing cleaner, there is still an underlying feeling of the place not feeling clean (i'm not sure how to describe it properly).

Megan C.

Yelp
My favvv. I've only ordered mango personally but taking bites of the green tea, cheesecake and strawberry. The mochi topping is delicious. If you order mango off-season I recommend getting a side of condensed milk to sweeten it up. Regular is WAY too big for 2 people unless you are coming on an empty stomach. Service is quick and has gotten 100% better since I came here shortly after they opened. Bright environment. Some seating but fills up quickly. Expect to hover over a table when you people about to leave haha

Julianna P.

Yelp
Blueberry Cheesecake Bingsoo -- the ice was nice and fluffy. The blueberries syrup was just right not too sweet. The syrup was not spread evenly to the bottom of the bingsoo. The whipped cream did not add too much to the bingsoo I wish there was a better topping to make the bingsoo taste better, like ice cream. Staff was understaffed, the order took almost two hours til past closing, for this bingsoo.

MelissaAnne B.

Yelp
Bingsu - a Korean milk based shaved ice dessert with sweet toppings. I've had this place bookmarked since I seen that PDX finally got one. We came on a VERY hot day. It was a whopping 94 degrees out. And this definitely cooled us down and satisfied our sweet tooth. For me, bingsu is that subtle balance of sweet. It's not overpowering unless you make it overpowering- if that makes sense. It's street parking. So enjoy the other little shops if you want and end your walk here to cool off. & you're in luck! Because two-zone is next door. A little Korean corner if you will. They're staffed in the kitchen, so a kiosk takes your order. There isn't a greeter- and the music right next to the kiosk is LOUD. So if you and your friends are trying to discuss what to order, you have to speak up. Since we've sat down, to when we ate our dessert, and when we left- no one came out to tend to the tables. Explains the stickiness. I understand that being staffed to 3 in the back can get tough- maybe placing a few disinfecting wipe stations could help out and the guests could clean up their table as they are done :) Taro- YUM! We were bummed out that it didn't have taro ice cream but it was still really good. We got extra condense milk to add a little more sweetness once we ate all the toppings. Cheesecake- it was like the perfect balance since it's milk based. And there were extra cheesecake chunks on the bottom.

Yelp
Had the Strawberry bingsoo (one of the very few choices left) several days prior at their Bellevue, WA location and I initially thought the shaved ice portion was just underwhelming and outweighed any of the syrup/flavoring because they were busy. But busy or not, coming to their much less busy (and new) location in Portland confirmed to me that this indeed, is just their presentation. Having been to 2 different locations, I can now say that the bingsoo--besides the presentation, of course--is indeed underwhelming. I've had the strawberry and mango and I give them props for the presentation of having to stack the fruits so perfectly (and for the generous portions). But besides most of it being ice and a light layer of syrup somewhere in the middle, I didn't love it as much as I thought I would. Slow service but I can imagine how much time it takes to make the presentation as neat as possible, but they also bring it out to you.

Yelp
Pretty neat place to check out for the kiddos or some desserts for a date night. They're pretty busy though, so this is not a stop and go. These types of desserts are a must eat on the spot. I do think that 1 shaved ice order can feed 1-4 people. Unless you're a strong eater. The Taiyaki is a MUST for my family! Custard!! Next time, we want to try the others. We had custard and red bean- not too much of a bean fan, so could go with out for me. They did use actual beans instead of the normal bean paste. Place is kind of small- so depending on the day, plan on waiting around for a place to sit.

Yelp
The products are pretty good. It can get really busy and the line goes out the door. Expect to stand or wait a while for a table because there aren't many. Aside from the amount of tables, they're always dirty and some are even broken (the ones outside). The few times I've been there, I don't think I've seen any of the staff clean the tables. The other major complaint that everyone is saying about the single big screen is true. They really should add an extra screen or two. They don't provide any real customer service and the tip defaults to like 15%. The first time I did tip, but the other two times I didn't feel the need to. They make the food and call out a number and that's it. They don't bother to interact with you and check how you're doing or clean their restaurant. The desserts aren't good enough for me to come back.

Yelp
So happy we have a Bingsoo spot here now! There's many Bingsoo flavors to choose from along with drink items and taiyaki varieties. We got the Mango Bingsoo with no whip cream and the Black Sesame Bingsoo with no ice cream. The bingsoos are customizable so you can add or remove toppings. Although we ordered the same size, the black sesame one looked bigger. One gripe I have about this place is that it's a bit small. The seating is limited and the place was packed because we came on a busy day. It was also very hot that day and the outdoor tables were not shaded. We ended up sharing a table with another couple.

Yelp
First snowy village in Portland I am so excited. The workers were friendly and the presentation of the food was spot on. Not too sweet for a dessert and super refreshing. :)

Yelp
If you've never tried Korean shaved ice, I recommend you try it at least once. Not overly sweet, melty and creamy, and the most light and airy whip cream. One is enough to satisfy your sweet tooth and large enough for two.

Yelp
I've been to the Seattle location before and really enjoyed my bingsoo there, so I was excited to check out the location that opened up here in North Portland. The ordering process was pretty simple with a large kiosk stand that presented a few pages, making ordering go by smoothly. There were a few tables on the inside, and also some on the outside for those dining in. My friends and I decided to share a strawberry bingsoo. It took about 10-15 minutes for our dessert to come, which was longer than I'd expected. I also thought that the quality of the bingsoo was good, but nothing stood out to me in terms of flavor. If you haven't tried bingsoo before or if you're looking for a light sweet treat, this would be a pretty solid option.

Yelp
3.5 stars Unfortunately Portland doesn't have many bingsoo options choose from, so if you're craving it, this would be a solid choice. Went on a warm summer Saturday night so a long wait was to be expected. When you walk in, there's a line for you to order from a giant tablet (I thought it was a tv lol). We ordered one small bingsoo and the wait took 30+ minutes. The bingsoo itself was good. I just wish it had condensed milk, which probably was an option as an add on. Their menu was pretty extensive - good variety of bingsoo flavors including seasonal options, drinks, and sweet or savory taiyakis. There is some indoor and outdoor seating. Bathroom door lock was out of order, so there was a sign telling people to knock before opening just in case. The place could have definitely used a good mopping and the garbage was overflowing. But we did go at the end of a busy day and they were short staffed so its understandable. I'd go back if someone else wanted to or if I was in the area. But not something if trek across town for. But still worth a try if you're thinking about it.

Yelp
Rain or shine in the PNW, the Williams corridor is the hot spot for scrumptious snow. True to Korean style, this snowy dessert spot makes L.A. quality bingsoo. Great menu selection of Asian favorites ~ Injeolmi, Black Sesame, Taro. Service ~ slow as a snowflake falling. The self ordering booth pumps out overwhelming orders more than the staff can handle. The wait will melt your patience away. Space ~ tightly packed like a snowball. A few seats inside & out. The issue is folks come in groups and cannot accommodate the rush. Nevertheless, order the largest, add the extras, and tailgate to enjoy. 5 snowflake stars for this one of a kind Korean dessert.

Yelp
Came here because my friend said it was trending. Fun, clean, quick self ordering and courteous service, and most importantly real bingsoo Korean shaved ice (milk kind). If you haven't had bingsoo it's shaved frozen milk that's just super delicate and not too sweet/just right. I recommend the black sesame, which is a traditional flavor that comes with sweet red bean and sweet rice cake toppings. In addition they added some crème flavored iced cream. It was a welcome touch. A real bingsoo place in Oregon..who would have thought? They have bungeo-ppang AKA taiyaki in Japan, which is a fun freshly-made, fish-shaped waffle snack usually filled with sweet red bean filling or cream. Like bingsoo, it's hard to find a respectable one in America. Gotta try that definitely next time. Certified legit by a Korean. Snowy village: +A

Yelp
Korean shaved ice, aka bingsoo - A delicious, refreshing, lightweight dessert. This location recently opened! The ice is shaved so finely that it melts in your mouth instantly. Best to eat it quickly. The mango is $12 and can be shared between two people. The mangoes are fresh, naturally sweet, and soft. I appreciate that they are spread evenly in the dessert so there's no lackluster spoonful! The whipped cream is popular for a reason, it has a unique distinct vanilla bean flavor, with no bad aftertaste. I highly recommend it. Service -- I felt bad for the staff here - many are in training, and the evening that I went was slammed. Staff were calling out numbers and patrons were not picking up their orders! I observed this happen with over 10 different orders, and watched the staff walk the orders back to the kitchen looking defeated. Because of this, the wait time was over 30 mins. I'm not sure where this confusion comes from, maybe people think they're going to get a text and then leave for the duration of the estimated wait time. Either way, if someone doesn't pick up their order, the item should go to the next order with that identical item to stop food waste and keep the line moving! If it's the same item, after all, what's the issue? Ambiance -- could use improvement. This location is very small and there are more patrons than the store has space to accommodate for. Instead of having a few large tables, it may behoove the owner to replace these with more small tables to encourage a quicker turnaround time for patrons. Snowy Village is known for minimalistic decor but there's significantly less going on here since it's brand new. Some strings of simple foliage on the walls or a place to take photos may be a nice addition to encourage more interaction.

Yelp
I was so excited for this new addition in Portland. As Korean, I am always on the lookout for good bingsus. They were extremely busy when I went, probably because the weather was a little better that day. They have a large kiosk that you have to use to order. They were working as fast as they could but we did end up waiting about 20 minutes for our order. As for the mango bingsu, they provide plenty for at least two people to share in a regular size. The mango is fresh. The shaved milk adds a nice texture. The whip cream on top is iconic of Snowy Village. The structure makes it a very messy eat, but I guess that's part of the experience. Overall, enjoyed the mango bingsu, and I'll be back to try some of the classics like Injeolmi.

Yelp
Such good shaved ice here, lots of toppings available (I just got the basic but there were tons of options). Shave ice came out quick but the taiyaki took maybe 10-15 minutes as they're all made fresh to order and they fill a lot of orders. The kitchen has a cute cat curtain! Definitely would come again for bingsoo after dinner.

Yelp
The future of desserts is now. I hadn't realized I would be next to this shop, but when I did realize, I was so excited. You order via a touch screen, which is perfect for people with social anxiety. The shop is small, which does suck if you want to sit and eat. Especially in the summer, running around with a bowl of snow would not be a good time. Loved the K-pop playing, and the area is very chill, so you can talk while you wait and eat. The serving sizes are BIG, so I suggest sharing as again travel with a bowl of snow is not the easiest. I got the green tea with red beans and extra sweetened condensed milk. It was good and refreshing. Nothing groundbreaking but still a fun treat after dinner next door. PARKING: As it is an older area of Portland, you may need to park a bit away. Our rule is 2 blocks from the place start looking. Also, it is around one way streets so youay have to circle a bit.

Yelp
I recently discovered Snowy Village and it's become a go-to spot for me when I'm looking for a refreshing treat! The shaved ice is finely shaved and has a light, fluffy texture that melts in your mouth. But what really sets Snowy Village apart is the quality of their toppings. The fruit is incredibly fresh and adds a burst of natural sweetness to the shaved ice. Additionally, the serving size is generous, as a single order can satisfy 2-3 people, making it a great option for sharing with friends or family. If you haven't already, I highly recommend checking out Snowy Village for a delicious and satisfying treat :-)
