Get great fruit-flavored bingsu at Snowy Village - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"At this Renton bingsu shop, the fruit-forward flavors stand out more than the richer, chocolatey ones. There's a Fruity Pebbles version that tastes just like the last few sips of cereal milk, and a bright, refreshing mango option. You’ve got plenty of size choices, some comfy seats if you want to linger, or you can take your bingsu on a leisurely stroll around the outdoor mall this spot calls home." - Kayla Sager-Riley

Looking for a sweet treat that isn't diabeetus-inducing cookies (you know the one I'm talking about)? Check this cute little shop out. As you enter, the menu is located directly above the self checkout counter. Since it wasn't crowded, we checked out the TV that featured various parts of scenic Japan which was nice. You really can't go wrong with anything you order, and with flavors like taro and red bean, you're in for a treat! Obviously get a taiyaki, too!

We visited Snowy Village Renton for a treat one night when we were in town. We had never tried anything like it before. Two of us shared a peanut butter cups mini bingsoo which was perfect. Because it was our first time, ordering on the tablet was a little confusing because we did not really know what we were getting and there was no one to ask. It all worked out and we enjoyed the treat. It is worth checking out if you have never had it!

Google
The food is great. The only issue I have is nutrition information wasn’t provided when asked. The person who helped me told me “she’s not allowed to provide nutrition information. Regarding sugar portion per serving in the drinks.” It is required to provide any nutrition information upon request in Washington State.

We love this place! The taiyaki here is so good because they use a croissant batter. Once you try it you’ll never be able to eat any ordinary taiyaki! They have an assortment of sweet and savory flavors. My favorite so far are the pesto & cheese and the bacon with egg. Another favorite of mine is the iced coffee with egg cream. It’s absolutely divine! This place is always well kept and clean. They have two tablets that you can walk up and order on and plenty of seating for a cafe. I sincerely hope they never leave!

Google
Been here twice for bingsu and will almost certainly be back for more. It's delicious and well portioned. Definitely among the best bingsu we've had. I'd recommend the mango and strawberry combo. It's in a nice area to walk around, staff are friendly & quick, and they have a myriad of options.

Google
Their Bingsoo is very nice, but not a big fan of their drinks. They only had crystal boba for the drinks and I am not a fan of that. All their Bingsoo are not overly sweet and we really like that. They have the option of getting sweetened condensed milk added on top of you want it sweeter.

Been meaning to check out this cute place! The setting is warm and well maintained; the staff were welcoming & willing to answer any questions that could come up. They're open to taking your order or you can use a self-serve station which seemed pretty efficient. I went with an Almond Roca mini bingsoo to start my first time coming in! It was refreshing and light with the 'snow' flakes being made out of milk. It was semi sweet with enough room to mix the toppings in. From the front counter, I was encouraged to try any of the fruit ones next time I come in, so that may be something to consider when you go visit!

Google
I was really disappointed with my experience here. They don't provide water to customers at all, which feels very stingy and unwelcoming, especially when you're having their sweet desserts. A basic courtesy like offering water should be standard at any dining place. It really took away from the overall experience.

Yelp
SNOWY VILLAGE @ RENTON Parking is available in the opened lots - is free and available. Snowy Village is in located at The Landing, a great and easy convenient area if you're around the city of Renton - and are craving for a sweet treat. Shoutout to the worker Celia for being an incredible worker, extremely helpful, kind, and had great recommendations. I really enjoyed seeing their entire menu and display, it was definitely hard to choose from so many options. I ended up getting their popular options, including the Mango Bingsoo, this came out to about $8. It was delicious, fresh, and such an amazing choice for a sweet treat especially if you want to add in some fruit. The ambiance of the place was clean, modern, and nice. I really enjoyed the space itself, and the service!

Yelp
Its been a while since I last reviewed and I thought I would make a updated review. I ordered the custard and its filled with custard. Not a thin layer, good enough to enjoy throughout the taiyaki. I also tried their Matcha Latte for the first time and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My friends like their drinks too. Only thing i wish was that the lattes didnt have a tin lid. After a while of drinking, you start to taste the tin so i recommend using a straw. Overall, will continue to visit!

Yelp
I haven't had Snowy Village's shaved ice in a minute. The last time I went was at their original location and they only offered one size and about 5 flavors. Snowy Village has really expanded on their flavors and they now offer minis. The mini size was actually perfect to share between 2 ppl and you can try more than 1 flavor without feeling guilty. You can't go wrong with the mango and strawberry. Their fruits are sweet and the fruit bingsu are super refreshing.

Yelp
EPIC bingsoo! My husband and I got the taro and the mango. Both were exceptional and delicious. The ice was creamy and milky and they put a good ratio of topping to ice. Service was quick! They even have wet wipes for you to clean up your hands/mess. Excellent dessert cafe and would definitely come back!!!

Yelp
I was looking forward to trying this but the coconut coffee was just okay - it was a little too rich for me somehow. The place is small and customer service is non existent. You walk in & order through their tablet. When my order was ready a female employee walked up to their microphone, called my order number and then quickly walked back to the kitchen before I even got to the counter. No greeting, no eye contact, no interaction whatsoever. Awkward. And yet theres an option to tip. What am I tipping for exactly? Being ignored as a paying customer? I wish places would bring back the lost art of customer service. It is part of the experience.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I wanted a dessert after our sushi anniversary dinner and found this shop around the area. It's located next to The Rock Wood Fired Pizza and Ruby Room in The Landing in Renton. There is a free parking garage for customers of The Landing to park at. My boyfriend and I ordered a mini Matcha Injeolmi bingsu and noticed they had croissant taiyakis even though we were full... But we also ordered one with bacon and egg as it sounded soooo good. The matcha injeolmi bingsu was delicious and refreshing! The ice was shaved well and had a good amount of "syrup" but wasn't too sweet either. Loved the mochi too! The croissant taikyaki was surprisingly very good. It had a very nice buttery crispiness to it that made it sooooo good. There was no sogginess from the fillings inside. I couldn't get enough of it honestly! On another day, we came back with some friends after dinner to get more of their bingsu since we liked it so much the first time! My boyfriend and I got their mini Mango & Strawberry bingsu this time. I'm not a huge strawberry fan (my boyfriend is) but loooove mangoes (win-win). This bingsu was sweeter than the one previously as there was more artificial syrup. The mangoes were definitely still really good. Definitely an underrated dessert shop as there are a variety of things to try ranging from drinks to bingsu to croissant taiyakis. I haven't tried the drinks yet but hope to do so in the future as they also have Vietnamese coffee!

Yelp
Came back in hope to get mango again but they were out! Tried the orange this time and it was still good but would recommend mango or strawberry over the orange. Great service and they always keep the space clean.

Yelp
Nice calm place to go after a dinner with friends! Very refreshing but they do close early around 9ish. Love their bingsoo bowls, especially the strawberry one even though we didnt get it this time. The oreo one is very good!
google avatar

Smaly K.

Yelp
My cousins and I came here for dessert after dinner. I've always wanted to try bingsoo, but not sure how I'd feel about it because some of some of they things that sometimes go in it. And also, most places make them kind of big, which is too much for me, or share if everyone agrees on the same flavor. So, I was really glad to see that they offer mini sizes. I ordered the Berry Bingsu and my cousins both got the Just Oreo Minis. It was tasty, and just the right amount. Definitely want to come back and try more flavors.

Yelp
Excellent dessert spot for a quick and delicious treat! You order at the screens at the front and seat yourself. I visited at around 8pm and it was still open. I got the strawberry chocolate mini and this was enough to share between two people for a little taste of dessert that wasn't too much to eat. The shaved ice is made with milk so it tastes similar to ice cream but much lighter. I would come here again!

Nicole W.

Yelp
I like the their Milk Tea here, especially the crush ice that they used in their Milk Tea. The service was great and very fast.

Kin L.

Yelp
The strawberries and mango bingsoo is very good. The Fruity pebbles is good too but wish it had a little more fruity pebbles. Coffee egg cream and Thai milk tea is good too. The red bean and custard tayaki was a bit burnt and was ok. Prices were a bit high. We asked for a cup of hot water and they wouldn't give us one but suggested we buy a hot drink. They need to do better there.
google avatar

Eric A.

Yelp
Yum yum yum! It's like shave ice but instead of frozen water with syrup, it's made from milk. So every night has great flavor and it's not overly sweet. This prevents the toppings from making the dish too sugary. If you haven't tried taro (coconut) before, this would be a great introduction because it was voted as best flavor but my group of friends! There's an ordering kiosk that has pictures of everything so you can get a rough idea of what each flavor looks like. The cost ended up being validated by his tasty it was! The smaller size was perfect for one person. You could buy the bigger size but to be fair it'd be pretty clumsy to share it.

Yelp
This place is sooo good!! It has a great atmosphere and it's very clean. When we went it was slow so service was quick.

Yelp
Really cute spot to get shaved ice, boba and Taiyaki. The taiyaki is from croissant pastry with different fillings. The bacon&cheese, jalapeño& cheese, custard, Nutella and more.
google avatar

Iman A.

Yelp
Got the strawberry mango bingsoo. Sooooo good. Shaved ice is not sweetend which is great as it let's the toppings shine. Light and airy. Milky. Delicious. Service was good as well got the order quickly. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
It was a hot sunny day in Seattle, and the kids begged to come here because we haven't been here for a long time and they want a treat so off we go! Surprisingly it was not as busy as anticipated. As you enter the establishments, there's some kiosk that you can order and pay, which is great because you can do it yourself without feeling pressure of a line buildup behind you. After paying, you get a receipt with a number and it will be called when order is done. We were able to find a nice seat as turnover was quick. There's a few tables in there to enjoy your dessert. The mango bingsoo was delicious, we ordered 2 additional toppings for the dessert, it's a little pricey but well-worthed to see the kids happy. We ordered one to share among the 3 of us because it's a lot of one person. The staff here is pretty nice. After you're done, there's an area for you to place the plate in the container, so make sure you don't throw that away.
google avatar

Vladi Z.

Yelp
Really tasty! Great little spot for the perfect treat. We got a mini raspberry, but then wanted more! The passion fruit is also good but I could do without the cheesecake. You don't even have to chat with the staff but the service was speedy
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite dessert places. We have ordered the traditional bingos with bean powder and red beans but it only comes in the large size. We also ordered the taro one too. The shaved ice is so fine here that it tastes like you are eating spoons of cold fluffiness. The dessert is super cute when it comes out, so get your cameras ready. They also have a nice layer of toppings or sauce in the center so that you have good flavors throughout the dessert and are not just eating plain ice. The s'mores taiyaki was just alright. We thought it could use more filling. Overall, great place with good service and plenty of parking. The place can get a bit crammed on weekend nights due to influx of customers.

Yelp
In lovvvve with this gem! Pro tip: parking in the Landing garage & its directly across the street. I was invited to join a friend tonight here & it was delightful! You walk in & there's tablets to complete your order/pay & get a number. The orders are up pretty quickly. I had a Oreo Taro Shaved Ice with Brownie Crumbles & a Thai Tea that came in a can! Cool concept. There's plenty of seating & its bright & cheery inside. It was a perfect treat before dinner

Yelp
Snowy Village offers bingsoo (shaved snow) as well as drinks and croissant taiyaki's. There's two self order kiosks where you can order from. Inside is a little small and cramped so it can be a little hard to find seating during peak hours. I got a strawberry mini bingsoo and it was a perfect portion for one person. The bingsoo had strawberry syrup in the middle and was topped with thin strawberry slices drizzled with condensed milk. The bingsoo is very snow like - it's creamy, soft, and not icy at all. Overall a good spot to get dessert.

Chittaphat M.

Yelp
The texture of Shaved ice is good but all toppings small portions for me . and also they work a bit slow because not much busy business that time.
google avatar

Mya N.

Yelp
Was so excited when they opened and I love that I can get a mini bingsoo. It's the perfect amount to not feel like your tummy is dying from the inside out. It is in the landing so you can find parking on the side streets or go in the garage. When you go in they have an electronic ordering system and pick what you want and pay. The wait is never really longer than 10-15 min depending on that you order. A little longer if you order Taiyaki, but it comes out fresh, hot and crispy. Strawberry Bingsoo: really good creamy and strawberries are slight tart. Matcha Brownie Bingsoo: good flavor. I don't really eat chocolate very often and not big on Brownies, but I gave it to my niece and she liked it. Mango Bingsoo: I love me some mango and this has been my go to. It's so good, fairly light from the shaved ice and flavorful. Taiyaki cheese: very good and simple. Taiyaki cheese and bacon: would definitely get it again. Strawberry raspberry Bingsoo: it is good and tart. Overall it is close to home and a nice treat every once in a while.

Yelp
This might be the best shave ice I have ever had. Smooth, creamy, visually appealing and delicious enough that I don't want to share even the large size!! We particularly love the strawberry and mango bingsoo. Don't skip their taiyaki. We always order the Nutella one .

Jun Y.

Yelp
When a dessert costs as much (or more) than an entree at a restaurant, it better be worth it. Well, it's not here. We got the Red Bean Injeolmi Bingsoo, and it was subpar. The worst part is how small it is (again) compared to the price. Regarding the actual dessert, it was ok. The red bean was just poured out a bit on top but was not enough to mix with the rest of the bingsoo. There was a decent amount of rice cakes, but again...at $18 + tax, there should be way more. The place was empty when we went in (not surprised). Next time, I'm driving elsewhere to get a better deal and a proper dessert.

Yelp
I normally would never come to write a review solely on service but I have never ever experienced someone in service so rude in my life. I have a diary allergic child and my questions were not only dismissed but she treated me as if I was crazy for even coming into her store to order a dessert and ask for the fruit on the side vs on top of the diary dessert since it includes milk. All I wanted was a few pieces left off the dessert I was paying for so that my allergic child could have something to eat while his other two siblings ate dessert. It's one thing if the desserts weren't made to order but for a place that literally allows you to customize your order it was so incredibly rude how she handled the situation. My tip, please have compassion for those with severe allergies when running a food business.

Yelp
Love coming to Snowy Village Dessert Cafe in Renton! Their icy treats are the perfect escape from the summer heat. From pillowy shaved ice to luscious bingsu topped with fresh fruits and sweet syrups, it's a taste sensation you won't want to miss. Parking is plenty and service is always great!
google avatar

Kristen N.

Yelp
I am so happy that this location opened up in Renton! It's conveniently located in the Landing and there is plenty of parking. It was a bit busy when we went, but our order only took about 10 minutes. You order at a kiosk and wait for your number to be called over the intercom. We got a mini strawberry mango bingsoo ($8). Snowy Village's shaved ice is milky and sweet. The fruit was fresh and sweet and paired well with the ice. My only complaint is there wasn't quite enough fruit (ratio was off). The mini size is just the right size for one person. Definitely recommend and will come again soon!

Yelp
After hearing about this place, I had to try it for myself and on impulse I paid them a visit on my way home today. I'm so glad I did! No line around 4pm on a Friday, just one table occupied for dine in, and the tables were well spaced apart and the place was clean. When you enter, there is a tablet to self-order and pay, and they call out your order number when it's ready. There's a giant TV on the wall playing kpop music, and due to this, the place is pretty loud. I got the injeolmi red bean classic bingsoo, and it was heavenly! The texture of the shaved ice was powdery and tasted milky, there was injeolmi powder and red bean layered in the bingsoo, and topped with more injeolmi powder, red bean, toasted almonds and mochi bites. I loved it and will be back! Only down side is it's a little pricey, but it's the best bingsoo I've had outside of LA.

Deb K.

Yelp
I'd been craving bingsu for the past month as it is perfect in the summer and being raised in Hawaii, it's the closest to shaved ice! Bingsu is like shave ice on steroids! We first had it on vacation in Korea and I'm always looking for a place that serves it! We asked around and checked Yelp and decided on Snowy Village. Great choice! The bingsu was delicious and so soft. They even layered the fruit so that you get some in every bite! And this place is located in a cute strip mall with free parking in the structure. Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Kelli H.

Yelp
Horraye Snowy Village is in Renton! Split their mini matcha brownie bingsoo - so refreshing. It was enough to share for a sweet treat. Def gotta add the mochi on top. Nice feature of being able to order at the contactless kiosk there!

Yelp
It was a cold day, very cold day in Seattle actually. About 30 degrees outside, it has been snowing this week, whenever the door opens, you feel the breeze coming in, it's freezing, but can't say no to bingsoo. I guess it's a good thing that the bingsoo won't melt so quickly either from it being this cold. What I like about Snowy Village is that they offer mini size, it's perfect for one person. There are regular sizes too that you can share, but there's less flavor option. There are so many variety for the mini sizes, and it's so cute being it's mini size. I think one cup runs less than $10. This is located at the Landing in Renton. There's a self order kiosk that you pay with card, they will call out your number once it's ready. I recommend sitting as far as possible from the door if it's winter, that door opens pretty often as many people still want shaved ice during the cold like we did. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)

Yelp
We got the taro oreo mini bingsu and the blue lemonade. The taro was super creamy and complimented the bingsu well. Oreo pieces were good as expected, just wish there was more. The blue lemonade was also great for the heat. There's not much interaction with the employees since you order on a screen but it's not really needed. Bathrooms are clean and seating areas are also fine. Would come back.
google avatar

Rebecca L.

Yelp
We got the strawberry mini, taro Oreo mini, and a cheese taiyaki! It was our first time to this location versus the one at the UW. Both the strawberry and taro were yummy! And they were both the perfect size. The taro wasn't as sweet as the strawberry but I preferred that. The cheese taiyaki was delicious and the dough is very buttery. Definitely eat this first before the cheese solidifies. Park in the parking garage for the easiest and closest parking. Parking is free.

Yelp
Man I love their strawberry and mango bingsoo. Shaved ice cream that's not too sweet with the fresh fruit. Man I'm drooling just writing this review. My only gripe is that it's a very small shop and maybe has 8 small tables and it's always packed. However we've never had a problem getting a table since it turns over fast and people are considerate enough to leave when they are done. Great dessert place after the heavy Korean bbq next door.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
Yay! so happy there is one closer and with mini sizes. The pastry was a combination of sweet and savory. It just needed a little bit more filling inside for the amount you are paying. Milk tea comes in a huge bottle and wish it had more sugar. Lastly, the mini size was perfect for a small snack and don't forget to get more sweet condense milk on the side.
google avatar

Helene L.

Yelp
Food- Good snack or dessert!! *bingsu was delicious as expected for the ingredients. The ice is like snow, melts nicely. I got mango and green tea/brownie. $7 each for minis. *croissant taiyaki- good if you're into croissants. The heavy ness of the dough goes well with the cheese and other savory items. We got Nutella and custard and they were delicious too. I am a naturalist and still prefer my bread dough taiyaki. $4 for flavors, $3.75 for plain. service- straight forward Ambiance- clean, bright. Huge TV playing K pop videos continuously. Has 7 tables, each holds 1-4 comfortably. Value- expensive, but in denial of inflation. Would come back if in the area. Parking- the Landing had garages. Short walk over. Recommend- yes!
google avatar

Dian K.

Yelp
Love the personal size desserts! I love bingsoo but I find the regular portion sooooo huge. I was excited that this place has a small portion that's just right for one person. And allow us to try different ones if we're sharing! The shaved ice is very smooth and milky. Plenty of topping on top and love the fact they have an extra layer of topping near the bottom even all the top toppings are gone! Very well thought out.

Bo W.

Yelp
The food was delicious. The service was awesome. The ambiance is a dessert place. There is plenty of free parking here and a parking garage.

Yelp
Came in this evening at 5:47pm to order on the self order kiosk for inside dining. We ordered two things, their large mango bingsoo + a viet coffee. We were 82 but never heard our number. It was 6:09pm already heard 83. 84. 85. 86. 87. then I went up, they called 89. I asked if they happen to have our order coming because it was now 6:14pm. I was giving them grace and the benefit of the doubt. But having two kids who are wanting their treat - I went to ask. The young girl checked her comp and simply said oh we are working on it. They definitely were not. The drink came out a few minutes later and I asked about the bingsoo she said "oh we are working on it." Another 5 mins later it comes out. I ask if there is anything they can do to compensate us on our wait time the same girl who is running the front said that the manager is working on it. Yet again, our bingsoo still not in sight. After I asked if she can do anything for us she said "no i can't, it's the internet that messed up your order." girl what. she just blamed it on the internet and her system said she got a new one today. how coincidental that you don't see our order and blame it on the new system/internet but 8 people got theirs like just a few minutes after they ordered. She was completely unapologetic and rude. Def will not be returning here and I recommend to go to the bingsoo spot in Southcenter Mall. service here sucks and the people aren't that nice. People who are "managers" really need to learn better customer service and not be such a b. 1000% do not recommend.
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
If you are looking for something unique and delicious in Renton this is the place to go! I love shaved iced and this was the perfect spot to get a delicious dessert! Mango is my personal favorite! Make sure to get there early to get a spot inside as seating is limited!
google avatar

Hong P.

Yelp
Small nice place with easy ordering. They recommend ordering at the kiosk or online so they can work on your orders to get them out fast. I got the mini mango strawberry bingsoo and a blue lemonade soda. The mini bingsoo was just enough for one person. I can't imagine what a classic size would be. It was light and refreshing with fresh ingredients. The blue lemonade soda was also refreshing. Definitely will come back to get another bingsoo to try.
google avatar

Annie C.

Yelp
First time here and will not be my last! I noticed this place just opened last year but haven't got the chance to go til now. I ordered a few things to share which included the matcha injeolmi bingsoo, mango strawberry bingsoo, and both classic and Thai iced tea. I like the fact that you can either order a mini size for one person or a regular size to share with another. Overall, everything I sampled were so delicious! The shaved ice had a snow powdered consistency which is how I liked mine. This was a great addition to the Landing area especially for a sweet tooth fix. Can't wait to come back again to try the other flavors on the menu and maybe order some croissant taiyaki next time.

Yard B.

Yelp
Had the raspberry mini and viet coffee, both very good, nice quiet place to enjoy a dessert, coffee, take an break and socialize with company. Service was good and friendly, both items came in a reasonable time. Place is modern.
google avatar

Lola Y.

Yelp
Perfect bingsoo! Easy ordering online or kiosk. Did not wait too long even though cafe was packed. The mini was perfect in every way. Ice was good texture, syrup and toppings melted together nicely. It just all comes together in a satisfying way. This location was far better than the Bellevue location. The menu is completely different! But the quality here is much better.
google avatar

S L.

Yelp
More like a 3.5. Lots of good options but didn't have enough condensed milk in the middle so it was a little bland. I forgot to take pictures of the actual bingsoo bc apparently we couldn't wait to eat it.

Yelp
Never seen this place here before. Must've opened during the pandemic since it's been a while since we've been to Renton Landing. It was our cheat day of eating anything we wanted. So after lunch I ordered a mango bingsoo via mobile, waited for 5 mins, then took it home to enjoy while watching TV on a Sunday afternoon. Since it was a warmer day than normal, it was refreshing, the shaved ice-ice cream was smooth, and the mango was fresh plus not too sweet!! Next cheat day I'll try something else.
