Our Favorite Noodle Soup In Chicago - Chicago - The Infatuation

"This rich stew is a must grab when you’re getting groceries from H-mart. It’s a little sour from the kimchi and pieces of pork gives it a wonderful fattiness. Combine that with the silken tofu, ramen noodles, and clear-your-sinuses spice level, and it will make you look forward to grocery shopping." - adrian kane, courtney sprewer

Awesome little restaurant. Everything on the menu is phenomenal. It’s known for the tofu stew which is super flavorful and comes out piping hot. I’m also a big fan of their pork bulgogi, fried dumplings, and stir fried rice cakes. And the side dishes with each meal are delicious as well. The staff is super attentive and accommodating and even makes a little extra dish out of the leftover rice at the end of the meal. This is one location of a chain franchise but this is the best of them for sure. If you want a great meal and a great time be sure to swing by.

Google
The beef ramen was delicious and the service was great!!! Will be definitely be back. :)

Always a good time eating here. Quick service, kind staff, good soup. They are always ready to refill you with banchan and don’t skimp out on portions.

Google
Very good Korean place. Authentic Korean food. They offer tofu soup with Ramen or Noodles. Bibimbap is serviced on a hot plate. Great presentation!. The service are fast and good. The staffs are helpful. We will return.

Google
All of staff were very friendly and work fast. Very crowded but clean. The food didn't live up to expectations. The soft tofu stew was ok, but nothing special, and the smell of pork in the dumplings was so strong that it was hard to eat, and there were only a few side dishes...

Google
this spot is welcoming from the get go and provides a nice array of authentic Korean dishes from which you can choose from. i’ve had the soondubu and the bibimbap in the past and they’re both rich in flavor and really hot (temperature wise) which i personally enjoyed. and recently, i’ve tried the soondubu ramen with dumplings (can choose others according to preference) and it created a nice harmony with the base, adding a little protein to the dish. so i definitely recommend those if you’re interested.

Yelp
I came in on a Monday afternoon with two others and we were seated immediately. It wasn't busy at all, so the service was very prompt. I have a bit of an obsession with Soondubu Jjigae, so of course I had to order it and it did not disappoint. Honestly, it was one of the best I've ever had. Some places skimp on the tofu, but here, it was never-ending! The rest of our group ordered the Bibimbap and the Soondubu Noodle, and we shared the Beef Short Ribs (LA Galbi) as a table. The Bibimbap came with a small side of soup, while the LA Galbi and Soondubu Jjigae came with hot stone rice. Everything was super yummy, and I would definitely come back again!

Yelp
I really enjoyed coming to this place for dinner and my parents have been a huge fan of this place. The menu is very straightforward and has a lot of variety. Lots of seating and the service is very quick and attentive. We never had to call someone over to refill our banchan and the food came out very quickly. Food was also delicious and the portion sizes were very generous for the price. Really loved coming here and I look forward to coming back in the future.

Yelp
So Gong Dong is SO my favorite spot to get tofu soup in Suwanee. It may be a chain restaurant but it's not related to the So Kong Dong on Buford Highway. While I'm super appreciative for the newer and closer location in Duluth now, this location was my first and dearest experience with soondubu kalguksu and complimentary plastic bibs (upon request). The menu is pretty straightforward. Get your tofu soup straight up, with kalguksu noodles or ramen noodles, then add your protein/"ingredient". Standard is seafood beef but I usually order oyster. Other Korean restaurants offer "combo" options but the Korean bbq meat is a la carte at So Gong Dong. Ordering LA Galbi (the beef short ribs) is usually my way to go. And if that's not enough, I like to order the seafood pancake, although I've had better. I may not be in this location as much as I used to, but from time to time if I can't think of where to grab food in Suwanee, So Gong Dong is an easy go-to option.

Yelp
Food: I usually order their tofu soup and it's good. But today I ordered their hot stone bibimbap and it was saurrrrrrr good. Hot stone made the rice crunchy munchy and ooooooou let that bimbim sauce caramelize! I was pleasantly surprised by their banchan refills too. Barley water/tea is free and has a nice subtle sweetness! Service: nice waiters and they checked on us frequently! One waiter saw my friend struggle to crack an egg and she helped him lol. So sweet. Ambiance: standard. Decor was ok and seating was clean.

Yelp
So good! The sundubu and galbi were both flavorful and tasted authentic to real korean food. I loved how it felt like I was back in Korea again. The service was heartfelt and great!

Yelp
So Gong Dong Tofu & BBQ has always been on my radar for the longest time. Today, I finally made it happen and try it! We got their [Beef Short Ribs], [Spicy Noodle Soup], and their [Spicy Tofu Soup]. My girlfriend and I both chose the 'Kimchi (with Beef)' option! [Beef Short Ribs] - sweet and savory is the best way to describe this delicacy. it is pippin hot when served and the meat itself is tender, 10/10 [Spicy Noodle Soup] - probably one of my favorite items, noodles were thick and al dente, broth was flavorful and the tofu were soft and delicious, 15/10 [Spicy Tofu Soup] - similar broth and tofu as the spicy noodle one but this came with white rice in a hot stone bowl, the bottom of the rice is crispy whereas the grains above is fluffy and soft, 9/10. This location offers free and unlimited appetizer refills, will most definitely return due to the amazing food and good customer service!

Yelp
Nice neighborhood Korean tofu place. I like this place because it is simple, low key and by the river with beautiful views. They have been in this location for years and appears to be family owned. I usually get the lunch special which comes with tofu soup (I get seafood and beef in mine) with egg, rice and customary sides like kimchi, spicy cucumber salad, picked spouts and little cakes. The cost comes out to about $20 per person. Food is spicy and gluten free - I like that! Service is usually good. It's a family owned place. They are kind and get to know you after a while. Their hot stone bibimbop is pretty good too! Strongly recommended for a low key outing.

Yelp
Grabbed a quick dinner alone here. Was immediately greeted with a warm smile and hello and seated. Food came out quickly and tasted delicious. Love that the rice for the sundubu jjigae comes in a dolsot, so that the rice gets crispy. The mul mandu were really good and I love the size - so cute!

Yelp
So Gong Dong Tofu & BBQ has the BEST soondooboo, also known as Tofu Stew, in the entire area. My favorites to order here are the kimchi soondooboo, mushroom soondooboo, and the Kimchi Dolsot Bibimbap, also known as Kimchi Hot Stone Bowl Bibimbap. This place is incredible Togo and to dine in. (I order like 5 tofu stews togo and drive long hours to take these back home to Florida. Still delicious!) They are usually generous with their portions. As a Korean restaurant, you get their side dishes (the cucumber kimchi is the best here, sooo good). Then you can order your food. The soondooboo all have different spice levels and can come with ramen, rice, or other noodle options. If you get it with rice, it comes in a hot stone bowl. Here you can take the rice out and ask for hot water to be put in. They will pour hot barely tea (caffeine- free, kid-friendly, and often drank in place of water in Korean Culture) into the hot stone bowl and the rice on the edges will crisp up. It's like soup with rice and it's soooo comforting to the soul. The service here is always nice. I tell them that I take a bunch Togo to drive to Florida and they package is EXCELLENTLY! They also are genuinely nice and put effort to communicate in Korean and in English. The restaurant has lots of seating and is kid-friendly! They have high chairs, plastic silverware for kids, and styrofoam cups with lids. A great kid soondooboo option is their "white soondooboo."

Yelp
I came here twice over the past week for the first time since I was craving some Korean food/tofu stew. My first visit, customer service was just alright and they seemed kind of annoyed at us for being a bigger party and not speaking Korean/understanding them. My second visit was just a party of 2 plus 2 babies, and no issues with customer service. Both times food was consistently good and hit the spot. Exactly what I was needing for my tofu stew craving. The menu here is pretty limited, but I'm guessing if you're coming here, you probably already knew that and had an idea of what you were planning on ordering. You can order the stew, ramen, or noodles, and they have many different options for what toppings you want (I did oyster both times, my party did kimchee & beef and seafood & beef. The stew comes with a hot stone bowl of rice and a raw egg for you to crack in it. You can choose your spice level- mild, regular, hot, or spicy (I believe those were the levels). I haven't seen their ramen bowl, but the noodles comes in a huge bowl that is definitely more than enough for 1 person to even finish. Bibimbap is also an option which comes out on a hot stone plate. All the food comes out steaming hot and takes awhile to cool down. I recommend scooping it out into the rice bowl they give you so you can let it cool down faster to eat. But, eating it out straight from the hot stone bowl/plate is good too. We also ordered the seafood pancake- I've never gotten such a big portion of this anywhere else I've ordered it. Also very perfectly cooked. They bring out a sauce for it too. The sides consist of kimchee, bean sprouts, and cucumber, which they very attentively and quickly refill when you're low. This is likely my favorite tofu house to go to after these past 2 visits. Food is amazing. I like the portions and how quickly the food comes out- plus the delivery/presentation of the food itself. The taste and spice level was exactly what I was hoping for both times. Price isn't bad either.

Yelp
This restaurant was authentic Korean food served in a variety of ways. I had my soup made spicy and it was delicious. The bon chon was as amazing. I had two servings of the sprouts and the kimchi. Their kimchi was fresh and packed a nice kick of spice. I'm also a fan but of their radish. The soup came out lava hot. I ordered it two steps below the spiciest level and it was perfect for me. It was a good sized serving for the price. Service was attentive. If I was in the area often this place would be in a regular rotation. Recommended.

Yelp
This place is located in the Assi shopping center. Parking can get packed but it's in a huge parking lot so you may have to park a bit far away. I came on a Sunday evening and it was packed. Which is a good sign that the restaurant is very good. Luckily, we were seated right away. The hostess spoke Korean to us and I just nodded. I don't speak Korean but I just played along. They brought us some free side dishes and my favorite was the cucumber. I believe we ordered 4 cucumber dishes. I ordered the Beef Bibimbap. As for the appetizer, I got us the Seafood Pancake. My better half ordered the Seafood Bibimbap. The seafood pancake was super big and well enough for a party of 4. It was very tasty and packed with shrimp and squid. I loved it!!! The beef bibimbap was freaking huge. The portions was so big and for the price of $16.95, it was a steal!!! The seafood bibimbap was awesome too. My meal came with some kinda egg drop soup which was very tasty. Customer service here was awesome and the refills were super fast. Everybody was super friendly to us as well. I tried the beef short ribs and it was tasty as well. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back. Even better affer your done, you can walk over to Kung Fu Tea (which is next door) to wash the great food down.

Yelp
The service was courteous and good, it seems popular for lunch. There are not much choice on the menu, but all are typical Korean food., so order should be quick and easy. The name Sogong Dong comes from a place near Soul. We ordered 3 dishes to share. There were 4 5 standard appetizer dishes, I liked the cucumber the most. CLAM SOONDUBU is a tofu stew, the soup was tasty with seafood flavor and the tofu was tender, there were only three or four little clam. BIBIMBAP is a Korean hot stone plate with steamed rice covered with assorted vegetables and sautéed pork. The aroma was tangy, you have to stir mixing it with a spoon from bottom, the meat quickly disappeared after mixing. KOREAN BBQ BEEF SHORT RIBS was marinated in a Korean BBQ sauce, meat was fresh and tasty. I haven't tried their noodles yet, next time. The cost is about $15-20 per person.

Yelp
I love to eat Korean when I travel & found this restaurant near my hotel. Restaurant was clean. Waitstaff fast & friendly. Restaurant looks similar to many I dined in while in Korea. Food was plentiful & came out as fast as fast food restaurants. Food was tasty, but just a bit shy of delicious or special. I ordered Beef Bibimbap. Some of the beef pieces were tough. I was disappointed they don't have Kimbap on the menu. ButI left full & have enough leftovers for later. The place was busy at lunch with a host of Korean Americans dining there, so it's authentic enough to draw the local crowd, and the wait staff and kitchen seemed to keep up with their fast, friendly service. This is a chain with a variety of locations in the US & Korea. I almost gave 3 stars b/c the beef was kind of tough, but overall, I was pleased with my experience.

Yelp
Lively and busy atmosphere with great and attentive service. They worked quickly to get you seated and even during busy hours, they try to make it so you wouldn't wait too long. Restaurant itself is nice and clean and not too loud (I could still overhear conversations next to me without trying). The food was solid and good but not so out-of-this-world fantastic that I would go rave to people about it. It's a place I would frequent if I regularly went out to eat but if I'm frugal and choosy about where I go during the few times a month I do go out, I'd probably look elsewhere. With that being said, I've been here several times if that helps paint a picture of where this lands in my book.

Yelp
This place has been a staple tofu place. Recommend if you are in the Suwannee location. You won't regret.

Yelp
All the dishes here are amazing -- the jjigae (extra spicy!), kalbi, mackerel and pajeon are all top notch. I'm half Korean and everything tastes so authentic and thoughtfully made. Will be coming back here with my family every time we're in the area!

Yelp

Yelp
Good soondooboo, and a solid alternative to diving to the Buford highway location. Parking was a lot easier, too. My soup came out piping hot and was perfect for dropping in the egg. The soup was flavorful with just the right amount of heat. They were generous with the amount of meat and tofu. The galbi was perfectly cooked with a slight char and came right off the bone. The Banchan seemed light, but maybe because I was there solo. No fried fish. Plenty of seating and no wait on a Monday night.

Yelp
Located in the ASSI Korean market plaza, this is one location in a chain that spans America and I believe one location in Korea. This places specializes in Soon Dubu tofu stew, and other dishes are offered but this is one of the places you go when you have a hankering for a quick meal. Service is really spot on, the banchon (side dishes) are TASTY and addictive. The servers know when you are running low and hustle to refill the ones you like. Pickled radishes, Kim chee, they have a nice offering and you can tell they are FRESH! I've been here more than a few times now. I have tried the kim chee tofu stew (you get to choose your level of hot, be forewarned that spicy is pretty hot). I had the option of adding ramen noodles to the dish which is always good! Pro tip: you want to use the separate bowl so that you put noodles on the side so they do not soak up the broth! Then, add them back as you want a bite of the noodles so they can be warm and bouncy like good noodles are. We also ordered a haemul pajun- which is a seafood Korean pancake. Perfectly executed here. Sometimes it's too dense, too well done, but they nailed it here. Sauce (soy, green onions, a touch of vinegar) is so good with it. There are places closer to where I live, but this one is absolutely worth the drive. You can be in and out of here in 30 minutes if you're in a hurry. Also last thing: if you like rice, they offer it in a dolsot (traditional stone bowl that is ridiculously hot) where your steamed rice then becomes crunchy by the sides of the bowl. A textural joy when eating, especially if you get bibimbap. I don't eat much rice anymore, but this is the way to do it. Trust me! Wait a minute before digging into your bowl. Support small businesses!

Yelp
This place has fast become the go to restaurant for a quick, affordable and reliable Korean food. We've taken family and friends from LA on our way back from picking them up at the airport to our home in Suwanee. They were all shocked at the quality and price of the food. Ther service has been excellent every time. We've never run of their tasty banchans because it was constantly refilled!! Kudos to the management.
google avatar

Claire H.

Yelp
This is one of my go-to restaurants for Korean tofu soup. There's a variety of types you can get; I usually get the roe or clam. They also have different levels of spice, and usually mild is still relatively spicy. They also have other menu items such as LA galbi or grilled mackerel. I love their side dishes, especially the spicy cucumbers. On the plus side, there's nurungji, which is made from rice cooked in a stone bowl and hot water (it's a must try!!) They're service is quick and will make sure you are satisfied. They are always quick to refill your side dishes and water and will never rush you to finish.

Victoria V.

Yelp
No nonsense just awesome food every time we visit. Their soondubu is warm and hearty. Phenomenal!

Yelp
My goodness, what can I say, delicious, delightful, authentic, attentive, friendly, I could go on with more for another few minutes but it's not going to do them justice. Don't expect it to be spicy if you order it spicy tho lolol jk sorta. I got them to make it spicier than they've ever done before and it was mild for me, but I'm a huge pepper head, so that's no knock on them. I got the pork bulgogi and the scallion pancake. The scallion pancake is as good as my mother in laws, and the pork bulgogi was the best I've ever had! If you're looking for a truly delectable and authentic Korean culinary experience, you'll not be disappointed here! Oh! And they've got an EPIC bakery as well! I got these phenomenal little pancake things that I wish I could remember the name of for you guys but there's a photo attached.

Yelp
Great soon dubu option! I asked my friends to recommend a good soon dubu place, and also mentioned my dad wasn't a fan of SKD on BuHi to set a standard - they said I need to try SGD, it's so much better and while their name sounds very similar to the BuHI location - they are different. This place is actually part of a chain, one of 9 locations around the world. They have soon dubu jjigae, soon dubu ramen & soon dubu kalguksu -- and other dishes as well. Their banchan was very good - while the selection wasn't anything unique, the quality was really good. My mom is a picky banchan eater and she really enjoyed it. I also loved that they serve hot & cold barley tea (vs water). My friends said it gets crowded -- so we arrived 4:15pm for dinner, lol. Not crowded at all, and the service was very attentive. BEEF & SEAFOOD SOON DUBU JIGAE - $11.95 Arrived bubbling, and also comes with white rice in the stone bowl where they will add hot barley tea. My dad enjoyed his dinner. SEAFOOD SOON DUBU NOODLES - $11.95 They use kalguksu noodles - there were lots of noodles. I picked the noodle version (vs jigae) b/c I thought it was unique - but I feel like noodles suck up all the flavor so I thought it was just ok ... I prefer the regular jigae version. Huge tofu pieces - very good! Seafood - just 2 clams, 2 shelled shrimp & 1 oyster :( I did have enough leftovers for a 2nd meal :) TOFU DOLSOT BIBIMBOP - $14.95 I love when they serve dolsot bibimbop in the flat stone bowl - so much easier to mix your food! Also served with broth. Delicious! I'd get this next time. Overall great option esp. if you're in the area. I think next time, I'd also like to try their dduk bokki. Our eating experience felt safe - tables are spaced out well, and staff are all wearing masks.

Yelp
Came here right before a trip to Assi and enjoyed a delicious ham and sausage soondubu soup (perfectly seasoned and heartily filled with soft tofu and egg) and hameul pajeon (delicious seafood and spring onion pancake with delicious crispy edges). The service was pleasant. I would definitely return.

Yelp
We thought we would give them another shot... Tried to order takeout a little before 8:45 pm (1hour and 15 minutes before they close) and was told again that they are already closed.... I truly feel sorry for the owners of this restaurant. I wonder how many customers they are turning away each evening. Their employees seem to care more about wrapping up/closing for the night early than taking care of customers that want to eat/order food and running the owner's business in an ethical way. After I mention that it's only 8:45 pm and this has been a pattern of a female worker saying that they are already closed or aren't taking any new customers/food orders when they are still open I asked to speak to the owner. She said the owner is not in but I can call tomorrow when they open to talk to the owner. Then she reluctantly said she will take my order and asked what I wanted to order.... Come on.... Why does it take for an employee to get called out for doing something wrong to do the right thing and take a customer's order? Sigh...

Yelp
Food is consistently good. Service is fast and attentive. Ambiance feels like a busy tasty restaurant in Korea. My kids love the bulgogi bibimbap and husband loves the kalguksoo and i just like the plain old soup and rice. This is our to go place if we cant decide where else to go. We have peanut and treenut allergies and we are fine after eating here.

Yelp
Place: This place is the best spot to eat Korean stew. Like my go to spot. It is in like a Korean Plaza and the place is pretty spacious. We did not even had to wait that long. Service: The service is good! They are super nice and give the food pretty quick (was shocked) Food/price: The price is pretty good less than $10. I got the korean spicy stew with rice. The tip is to take the rice into the korean stew as they pour hot water into the rest of hot stone bowl and make rice porridge. SO WORTH. Audience: Great for families, friends, and just coworkers. A great place when you craving some spicy broth. Recommend/tips? I recommend this place and plan to come here the next time I visit Georgia. Literally the best place in the world!

Yelp
ATL weirdly has a huge soondubu scene and it's actualy highly competitive. I've been to many different Koreatowns in the United States, but no other state does it better than Georgia. With that being said, I personally believe that So Gong Dong in Suwanee does it the best. There's a reason why BCD went out of business in Atlanta, and I think that's because 1) there's so much other soondubu joints and 2) SKD overpowers BCD in Georgia. So Gong Dong in Suwanee is always busy. They're always popping and I love this place. What I really like here is that they also give you the option of getting it with noodles instead of rice so you can have a soondubu kalgooksoo or soondubu ramen, which is AMAZING! You can choose from your typical array of toppings for your soondubu, and I noticed that their spice level isn't as extreme; I usually order level 3 at other places but I get 4 here and I'm completely fine. My go-to as always is the gopchang soondubu. Another thing that I'm always impressed with here is the side dishes. Their cucumber kimchi is some of the BEST in town. Their side dishes usually never change - it's kimchi, cucumber kimchi, pickled radish and bean sprouts and all four of them are always so appetizing. The flavor of the soondubu here is a little too flavorful and some may say that you can taste the MSG in there, but every soup needs a little flavor rush and I am always so happy whenever I eat here. The service for the most part is pretty good and I am able to get my food relatively quickly. Whenever I do get the rice instead of noodles, I always finish the meal with some great nooroongji. SKD is the best amongst the competition here and I love this place.

Yelp
I've been to this plaza about 267 times but never tried it out. I'm glad I finally did because it's my favorite spot to get some soon dooboo. It's very tasty ... and you can get it with noodles. That hits two spots immediately. The banchan is alright, too. Even though it's not in the restaurant name, the dolsot bibimbap is AMAZING, by the way. Really flavorful. It paired extremely well with my soon dooboo. I wish they had half-and-half orders like a soup and sandwich combo thingy. Anyway, I wouldn't say there's much to add about the atmosphere. Just busy and loud.

Haun K.

Yelp
We live 15 miles away but worth the drive. Service: excellent and the staff here are always one step ahead with orders/bringing out banchan/answering questions (in English and Korean) Food/Value: we usually get the KalGukSoo tofu soup as we can finish the noodles (KalGukSoo) and able to take the tofu soup home to save for another meal (due to the large generous portions). Wish there were more locations!
google avatar

Stacey K.

Yelp
I don't have anything negative to say! I love the soup here. The seafood soondubu (I get mild which has a kick but is mostly just flavorful and not too spicy) is my go-to. The waitress we've gotten both times here has been wonderful. Super nice and attentive. We had our banchan and water refilled promptly. The banchan here doesn't have as many options as some other places, but the few dishes are really good. Kimchi, radish, bean sprouts, and spicy cucumber. The soondubu comes hot with the typical egg and rice included. It's very good and great on a cold day. I definitely recommend this spot for soup if you are in the area!

Yelp
Good but expensive!! Definitely will be back! Kids had the pork bulgogi, beef bulgogi, beef short ribs and hot stone plate kimchi! Absolutely amazing!!!

Yelp
It was my first time here, I ordered oyster tofu soup, it was alright, it has a lot of tofu but 4 oysters. I think it's a common problem with all tofu soup. Other dishes are good, I like my son's tofu ramen more than my tofu soup. Will go back again to try other dishes. The service was friendly and prompt.

Yelp
I got the spicy oyster tofu stew as takeout for lunch and enjoyed the food overall. The serving size was HUGE, enough to feed 2 people and I loved the side dishes that came with it as well. The spice level was perfect too--it really hit the spot for me! However, there were very few oysters inside and I wish they would put more because it felt like I was just eating tofu.

Yelp
Love this place! Food is consistent, service is great, and where else can I get the best cucumber Banchan near me, and it's free! This is my family's go to during the winter and fall. Just love that boiling bowl of tofu soup, bulgogi, and the seafood pancake. The menu is limited but that's why it's perfect. Yep, you'll see me there again, and again.

Yelp
Food was great, service was fast, really great for a larger group. The sides were delicious and the servers were amazing about bringing more of them.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. We came in first and they asked us to move to another smaller table for another larger Korean family. We tried to nicely tell the lady that the drinks that were brought out after we changed table that it was ours since the other table just sat down. How are you going to know their drinks? The lady proceeds to RUDELY say " I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW, I bring you new one" first you don't yell at your customers. Then proceed to take the order for that Korean table instead of us despite us being ready to order and we came in first. If you're going to be racists then just put a sign in front saying you'll serve and treat Korean people better and other races can come later. Rude bigger looking lady with little light brown hair learn how to treat people better. We left right after she took the other tables order and didn't bother to ask if we are ready or anything.

Yelp
I been coming here always ordering the same 2 soup at 12.95. I have always received excellent service however the owner here are not honest people. I'm been generous to tip them the 20% suggested which they calculate by using post tax amount. Recently I saw the credit card statement appears as $35 which is 30% of the post tax amount. 30% isn't even a tick box on their receipt. Will not be returning.

Yelp
The new Suwannee location isn't on yelp yet however this chain Korean restaurant really knocks it out of the park with there food, service, and ambiance. Everything from the spicy tofu soup to the side dishes had excellent, authentic Korean flavors. Our waiter was also very attentive and was fast to refill our drinks and side dishes. @slee.food reviews (9/10)

Yelp
really solid tofu soup! doesn't feel too msg heavy, almost refreshing when eating. the rice is served in a stone bowl too, which makes it slightly crispy. the galbi was tender and easy to eat, well marinated. the staff there are very friendly and were attentive to our needs during our time there. the interior wasn't too packed or loud when we went either

Yelp
As we entered the restaurant around 4pm on a Friday afternoon, we were gently greeted with an inviting aroma of the anchovy soup base used for the soondubu (soft tofu stew). The restaurant is very clean and welcoming, great staff and service. I love that their water is iced barley tea (no caffeine). For banchan (sides), you get pickled radish, bean sprouts, kimchi cabbage, and kimchi cucumbers. They're pretty good and decent sides! We ordered one combination of beef bulgogi with a seafood+beef soondubu, and a seafood pancake. The beef bulgogi was very tender, loved the added onions and bell peppers, but the seasoning and sauces used to cook/marinate the meat was okay. Soondubu was delicious and so good. You are given a raw egg to crack into the soondubu right when it arrives to your table bubbling hot in the soondubu stone pot. Seafood pancake was quite yummy! I like that the pancake wasn't very thick of flour/dough, but it was a good layer with crispy edges and bits of seafood present in each bite. I think the sauce that comes with the seafood pancake could be improved on. It just tasted like dark soy sauce with slivers of green onion and sesame seeds. It's a big pancake with 6 slices, can share among 2-4 people. Overall good experience with yummy food. My husband and I finished all of our food! Plenty of free parking in the large plaza lot this restaurant is located in the l plaza lot this restaurant is located in.

Yelp
When it comes to silken tofu stews which is a favorite traditional Korean dish, I've not seen much but apparently it's a big thing here in the ATL/Greater ATL area so to see it peppering my area alone, it's almost endearing. I've wanted to try a spot and I heard this place was a legit spot so I had to come out and try it before they closed for the night. More often than not, the broth to the stew is important and depending on the meat base, it's usually pork but here they offer a plethora of protein so obviously there has to be some neutrality to the broth or else it'll clash with your protein choice for the most part. And the proteins they offer come with pork, beef, intestines, squid, and others which makes for a pretty cool variety of options for you to choose which I appreciated. The banchan is great here! The kimchee is fresh kimchee so it still has that new flavor tinge to it that people like. The cucumber kimchee slices are great. The sprouts here are madd good!!!! The soy pickled radish slices are decent. Not enough soy flavor was deep enough, so it was lightly pickled but overall the sides were great. It was curious to see them bring out a single egg but I knew instantly that you the customer is supposed to add that into your stew which was a great addition and one I was not expecting! Now for the stew... I opted for the regular flavor instead of the spicy which I knew I should've asked for spicy. In terms of the flavor of the stew itself was rather bland yet still has that MSG kick afterwards which wasn't the greatest. It lacked a level of salt I think would've kicked it up a bit to give it that bite that affords a good stew that hearty rich comfort food type home style feel that this was lacking. The tofu did add some depth but the pepper flakes and the MSG really didn't do much in terms of flavor that a good helping of salt would have afforded it. Eating the stew with the different banchan did help to elevate the flavor but it wasn't much to help the stew itself. I'm not mad though that they gave you the rice in a stone bowl which gave it that crunch texture as you mix in the stew but overall, the stew itself is mediocre and it lacks a flavor depth I wish it could've offered that I know most stew and broth joints present. I really wasn't impressed as apparently this is a chain. Not a bad place to visit if you're looking for a specialized Korean stew restaurant, but overall, I'm pretty sure there are other places that can offer a bit more in terms of flavors...

Yelp
This is the best soft tofu soup in Atlanta. They also have noodles too, which go great with the tofu. This is your OG, from Korea type place. Service is fast and friendly, atmosphere is lively. Seriously, come here if you like soft tofu soup, way better than the Buford highway so kong dong
