16 Standout Spots for Christmas Day Dining in the Triangle

"Hot pot inevitably means putting in a bit of effort to eat, and there can be some decision fatigue picking every ingredient out for supper, but it’s worth it at this Cary spot. Little ones will love the robot escorting customers to the table and the cotton candy machine. Parents will love that kids under five are free, and kids between five and 10 eat half-price. There are a plethora of meats, veggies, and seafood options to customize hot pots." - Elliott Harrell

So Hot was very good and the staff were amazing. This was a first time experience for us. Our server explained everything very well and was very patient. I love how things the meat was and the portions. If you go please know they charge for food waste so order as you go and not all at once.

Jack, our server, was fantastic and friendly. The food is always amazing and the variety of options makes each meal a unique experience! The level 2 spice for broth is perfect

Google
10/10! This place was super cool! I would definitely come back for a dinner night. My dad and I had lunch here today for my birthday, first timers and we loved it. First off we were greeted and seated by a robot. So let start there lol .. our Host David was awesome with making us feel right at home, helping us along the way to get things figured out. We got the double broth, mild and none spicy. We added the rice noodles and broccoli. The meat choices were endless, so we went big lol The sauce bar was top notch! They had ice cream and a cotton candy vending machine !!! Like WHAT!? Yea, you have to stop by this location and check it out for yourself. Delish, affordable, fun and, clean!

My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary and David was our server. This was our first hot pot experience and he made it great! He took his time explaining how things work and made the entire experience wonderful. Will definitely be coming back!

Even though the WiFi went down, it was an awesome experience. Food was amazing per usual! Our server Chan was very tentative and personable. He was awesome and added a lot to the whole experience. He even gave us recommendations for the Chinese Lantern festival that we were going to after dinner. He was very persistent on making sure that we got what we wanted and were taken care of while the tablets were out of commission. He also maintained a very clear line of communication throughout the whole experience. He definitely deserves a raise/promotion! Awesome place 10/10 would recommend.

Google
Look, what fun! So Hot is amazing. It's actually really reasonably priced for what you get, which is, well...a ton. Of everything. This was our late Valentine's Dinner and we had a ball. The fusion of tradition and modernity is eclectic and cool, and our food was excellent. We both got a hotpot and loaded it right up from our iPad with steak, chicken, mushrooms and noodles--and some more exotic fare. And now we're leaving fat and happy. I love their little robot and their extensive drink menu. Would definitely go again, with more friends. Thank you to Clark, our amazing (and patient) waiter. ❤️

Yelp
Suki is my favorite!!! Service and quick food delivery is right on the mark here at So Hot! The venue is perfectly decorated and plenty of staff here to help make the experience perfect. We came in at lunch for my wife's birthday and Suki was so thoughtful with suggestions and prompt with refills and table cleaning. This was my second time here and I recommend to everyone to give it a go!

Yelp
We had dinner with a group of friends and were seated at a large table with six built-in hot pots for our party of eight. My husband and I shared a pot, but from the start, it wasn't heating properly. While the other five pots were bubbling and boiling, ours never reached a boil and kept turning off. We flagged our server down four times, explaining the issue. Each time, he had to turn the pot back on and the heat up but dismissed our concerns, saying that if the pot got too hot, it would shut off automatically. However, our pot never even reached a boil--it just kept shutting off. I suggested that maybe the grid couldn't handle all six pots running at once and was shutting ours off for safety reasons. Despite bringing this up repeatedly, nothing was done until the fourth time we asked, when the manager finally came over and replaced our burner. By then, our entire dinner party had already finished eating. We had barely eaten anything except some stale shrimp chips, and since our pot never reached a boil, we couldn't properly gauge if our food was cooked. We even suspect we ended up eating undercooked chicken (major food safety concern). To make matters worse, the server, while pleasant, gave the same scripted response every time and should have escalated the issue to a manager much sooner. Which makes us wonder why they didn't resolve the issue earlier instead of having us wait over an hour and a half. The place was busy, so I think they couldn't give us a new burner until someone left (our burner came from another table that was originally occupied plus I noticed when getting sauce all tables were currently occupied). Despite knowing we barely ate, they still charged us full price for an "unlimited" meal, plus an 18% gratuity. We're not looking for a free meal, but this was handled very poorly. Had they fixed the issue promptly, we would have gladly paid without complaint. Unfortunately, this experience was extremely disappointing. Additionally, the broth lacked flavor, and the seafood came frozen when served. Problems will always happen in a restaurant, but the way it was handled is why we won't be returning.

Yelp
We had great time and meal at So Hot today. Yuki and Jim provided excellent service and we're very attentive while we dined. The food was fresh and everything tasted fantastic. The inside of the restaurant was clean and inviting. It had a very pleasant vibe. Overall it was a unique and fun experience for me and my kids.

Yelp
This is my 3rd time going to so hot, and man I just want to say it always amazes me how the customer service is always excellent, and the workers treat you so nice and are very helpful at any moment's notice. And the vibe of the restaurant really makes me feel like I'm in a cooking show and or in the game overcooked because I get to be in charge of my own cooking but overall it's an amazing place I would recommend to everyone. I always try to bring someone new when I get a chance.

Yelp
They run out of the bear shape, so we had "mahjong shape" instead for our soup base. They offer many vegetable and meats options for you to choose, but the quality is alright. Meat don't seem that fresh but can't complaint for the price.

Yelp
It was very crowded when we arrived. We picked the middle of a Saturday to visit. Nonetheless, we had a great time. The service is amazing. We had 2-3 people make sure we had everything we needed. We weren't able to get a table when we arrived, but we were able to sit at the bar. Our experience wasn't any less than sitting at the table. I believe because it was so crowded the robot was parked near the door. You order via an iPad. You have 2 hours table time. It is all you can eat. You can continuously order meat and side items while you are there. So come prepared and ready to eat! You start with your base broth flavored mild to extra spicy. I chose the medium spicy. There were times where it was "so hot." I picked steak, noodles, water chestnuts, bok choy, corn, dumplings and mushrooms. They refill your broth throughout your service if it is running low. There is a sauce bar in the middle of the restaurant. A cotton candy machine sits near the bar area (cash only $5). Not bad for the beautifully designed cotton candy. There is a plethora of drinks to choose from ranging from milk teas to cocktails. Ice cream is located near the sauce bar. The only downside is this location is small. They need a bigger set up where people can move freely. I enjoyed my experience and would love to revisit when I'm back in town. Very reasonably priced for the amount of food you receive and great service.

Yelp
Dined here with my daughter last week for dinner and had an amazing time! Suki was our server and she was the sweetest, most helpful person. She made suggestions on what broth to order and we loved the Cajun garlic one. We also tried the spicy beef broth but definitely preferred the Cajun one. We had the shrimp paste, mussels, beef brisket slices and tons of veggies. We ordered the 12 shot wheel and enjoyed taking the sweet shots as they weren't too overpowering. The service was spectacular as our drinks were constantly refilled and Suki checked on us multiple times. I've had hot pot before but never with this level of service. We will definitely return as this location is in the same strip mall as H Mart and we frequently shop there. My faves were the lotus root, the shrimp paste, and the mussels. The Chinese donuts were delish too!

Yelp
This place was pretty good! I'm not a huge hot pot person, but the food did taste pretty good. I like how you can select whatever you want on a kiosk and it comes out pretty quickly!

Yelp
My first hit pot experience. Great, especially due to our server Benji. He was patient and explained everything as well as making useful recommendations. All the food was good, i recommend a little of everything and then focus on what you like. Recommended.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate my birthday. We had a wonderful experience up until the very end. As we were leaving, our waiter told my boyfriend "Hey man, come back when you've got more money." Our bill was $65, we tipped $5 electronically and $10 in cash on the table (over a 20% tip). Our waiter looked at the receipt, assumed we stiffed him with a $5 tip, and told us off. This was incredibly rude and unprofessional. My partner went back inside to discuss our the situation and pointed out the tip on the table. The waiter told him that he felt bad about his comment and insisted we take the cash back. We would've had a wonderful night and returned in the future if it were not for this incredibly rude and uncalled for behavior. I've been here many times and I think that will be the last.

Yelp
Amazing dinner here. Our server Andy walked us through everything and checked on us repeatedly to be sure our experience was top-notch. My wife is half Japanese and we've been to Korea and Japan together and I'd been as a kid too having lived close by on Guam. China, Thailand, Vietnam--all are on our list of what's next--point being we are well-traveled and this is not toned down foid for the South. The vegetarian hot broth was legit! Loved it. Bok Choi, Napa Cabbage, all the beef stuf I got for myself...fabulous. Our Suntory Highballs wew good too, and my wife finished w a boba milk tea. Just a great experience all-around. 5 stars!

Yelp
Came for dinner with a party of 3 on a Friday evening. It was packed but we were able to get a table. Delicious all you can eat hotpot where you not only choose whichever items you want to cook but can also make your own customized dipping sauce.

Yelp
Best. Hot. Pot. Ever. Truly AYCE with an awesome sauce bar. Service is ALWAYS top notch and the food is unexplainably good. I love hot pot because you can't mess it up. The staff does a great job making the meal approachable a es soeciaoly for those new to hot pot. The spice level is very true to form so be warned. They sometimes have a cute robot serving assistant

ML M.

Yelp
Amazing service and fantastic food at a great price. Can't wait to go back!!! Pro Tip: Don't forget to try the boba Thai tea and the cotton candy machine!
google avatar

Yelp
This is so much fun. The service is always great and very friendly. All of the broths I have had have been good and the meats and veggies always fresh. Can get very busy and crowded.

Yelp
Great all you can eat hotpot! We don't like it quite as much as Szechuan Mansion, but when you are craving hot pot and have a bottomless appetite, this is the place!

Yelp
If you're looking for an ALL YOU CAN EAT hot pot buffet with HIGH QUALITY meat, CUTE and delicious BOBA drinks, complimentary appetizers, complementary SAUCE bar, AND to be able to freely send in more orders at any time at the touch of your finger then THIS is the place you NEED to be. In complimentary with your designated server, you are given an Ipad that lets you view the menu and send in orders at any time without having to wait for a server. They have a huge menu with lots of hot pot options as well as cool and trendy drinks and BOBA. I also really like their pot with the dragon head! Makes the whole experience super fancy. Inside the restaurant there are lots of seating ranging from small booths to bigger tables. You'll find lots of families and friends here in a cohesive and casual environment. A chill and cozy ambiance for people looking for a great meal with close people. Also a SPECIAL SHOUT OUT to our servers !! CONNOR and NIKIE !! They are so sweet, so friendly, and so attentive to our needs! Connor did an excellent job guiding us on the menu and how to use the Ipad system, but he also made sure to check-in on us despite the availability of the Ipad. I appreciate his friendliness and he made us feel super comfortable and gave us a fun and enjoyable first time experience here. It is rare anywhere to find such wholesome and wonderful people, and I truly appreciate them.

Yelp
First time here, my server Benji was very patient and nice , he walked me through the process and everything. The food was delicious!! Me and my friends enjoyed it so much, will definitely come back! Big love for sohot !!!

Yelp
So I would say it's totally fine. It's a cool experience but I'm reality it is a lot of work. I mean you are cooking your own food so you are there for a very long time. The broths are good I liked the Louisiana Cajun. The service was great. I think for the restaurant to be higher review it needs to be cheaper, it's all you can eat but for 33 dollars per person it makes it not worth it with cooking yourself. If you want to go once you can but you aren't missing much.
google avatar

Brendon N.

Yelp
I drove an hour and a half to eat here and it was worth every minute. If you have never tried Hot Pot before you get to pick from a variety of broths, which they heat up at your table, and then you order as much food as you can eat to cook in the hot broth. I got the beef tallow broth and it was excellent. My favorite things to eat is the beef ribeye and pork belly and hand pulled noodles. Did I mention it was all you can eat? It is definitely an experience and worth giving a shot if you enjoy Asian food. If you are lucky they have a robot that will bring you to your table which is very cool! P.S do not sleep on the sauce bar. My favorite combo is a splash of soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, chili crisp, minced garlic and green onions.

Yelp
Fantastic experience. Girl Lunch fun. Note: you may think the 2 hour rule is too much time, but it flies by. Good food and company does that. The place was packed. First come first serve. Every person that brought food, drinks, broth, and seating was genuinely friendly. Our server took the time to explain the whole concept. Tips on ordering. Where to find cooking times. I recommend it all. Except the shrimp. Labor intensive. Cleaning and removing heads. Took a dual boba home. Half Milk and half Thai tea. Note: the places has some rough edges (destroyed looking patio and chairs outside), still worth it.

Yelp
Great AYCE hot pot experience in the triangle! I came here on a Thursday for dinner and got seated quite quickly. Our server was kind, attentive, and explained the ordering process well. The base was an extra $6~ on top of the AYCE pricing. The menu provided a large selection of meats, fish, and veggies, which was wonderful. The meat quality was pretty good, we got the sohot premium beef and the regular sliced beef. Both were really tender, and not too chewy or fatty at all! Overall, great experience. My one complaint was that the floor was dirty and sticky, and the interior all-in-all looked very messy.

Benji V.

Yelp
I had Suki as my server. She was the best server I've had in awhile. The food tasted amazing. Will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Briana D.

Yelp
We went here on a Friday night around 6pm and it was about an hour wait. The server was very friendly and she provided instructions since it was our first time there. If you like all you can eat places, this is a good place to go! I got a level 2 broth and it was way too spicy (also lacking flavor). I wasn't really impressed with the experience and most likely won't be back.
google avatar

Phoebe A.

Yelp
A solid AYCE hot pot spot for a good price! My husband and I visited this spot while we're in NC. We got the regular spicy broth and tom yum broth, which paired nicely with each other. While the selection is not super extensive, we got a good amount meats, veggies, tofu, and even prepared dishes as part of the AYCE offer. We both were so full at the end. Best of all: the staff was so nice and helpful. And it was such a joy to be led to our table by an adorable little robot. Definitely would recommend for anyone in the Cary area!
google avatar

Yelp
So Hot is the place to bring your family or friends for a warm meal. You choose how many flavors of soup you want (up to 4) and you get unlimited ingredients. Choose from classic raw meats, fish balls, raw fish, quail eggs, and Asian vegetables. Cook them yourself in the hot broth. Be careful not to overload the pot. My recommendation is to order in portions. It is best to order less than you think you need. You'll learn why once you start eating. Come hungry and leave satisfied. You are allotted two hours to enjoy your meal. My mom and I were done in about 75 minutes. The allotment is generous and the food packed with flavor. Be careful when choosing your broth because even some "mild" options still pack spice. Ask your server for their recommendations. There's a cotton candy machine that makes generous sticks (pay separate). During peak hours a robot host will direct you to your table. Quite cool, huh? The more people, the merrier!

Yelp
This was a fun, interactive dining experience. The food was of very good quality and a great variety. We had several seafood, beef, pork, and noodle options. Everything we had was great and got to try a few things we haven't had before. I like spicy foods, but had to step down the spice level here. The spicy broth was a bit much for me but the waitress was quick to adjust the broth for us. Definitely liked the variety on the sauce bar. We went for dinner, shortly before the rush, so we didn't have to wait too long for a table. Others who came shortly after had a significant wait, so expect a wait. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Mo F.

Yelp
This review is for the cotton candy only. LOL. My daughter went in on a busy Sunday afternoon just to get cotton candy. The machine requires cash only and you will need to walk through the dining room where customers are eating to get to it. Selecting a pattern for the cotton candy on a stick and then watching the machine spin the cotton candy to be retrieved from the machine was cool. The cotton candy was a cute and tasty treat. We plan to go back to eat there and, when we do, I will update my review!
google avatar

Mary K.

Yelp
We arrived around 12:30 and had around a 30-40 minute wait. It was a bit crowded in the "waiting" area but they do offer outside seating while you wait. They offer fruit teas and boba that is build your own on the provided iPad. You start off choosing your broth, I think you can have up to four. We chose the extra spicy beef tallow and the chicken and mushroom broth for the kids. The beef broth came in a cool nike shape. My husband loved all the fixings like the fish cake and stuffed fish meatballs. The servers were informative and constantly checked on us. They also have vegetarian options. My son's favorite part was the cotton candy machine but be aware that you should buy it in your way out because the steak from the pots will disolve it

Yelp
So hot was really delicious! We went for a bday dinner as I had never had hot pot before. We did a three broth pot, for a table of 5. We tried all the beefs, some pork, and noodles and veggies. I really liked the instant noodles in the medium spicy meat based broth! Next time, I would definitely make a base/bowl with the instant (ramen) noodles as a main dish. The medium broth was tasty but it was quite spicy in my opinion. But definitely had more flavor and umami than the mild broth of the same type. Since it was my bday they brought out a special bday dessert which was a more traditional dessert with fruit and boba, and really good! I would order that separately if I returned with how much I enjoyed it! We did try the desserts that are included, and they were good as well. I had a sparkling lychee alcoholic beverage and LOVED it, very tasty and easy to drink. I think our total for 2 of the 5, including my drink and a 13 dollar bottle of sake, was just over 100. Looking forward to trying it again!

Yelp
Food was amazing and very well seasoned, service was top tier, and cool ambiance. I would say this is cool vibe for kids or couples
google avatar

Yelp
What a neat place to come enjoy food and conversation! A bit pricy especially for dinner but, worth it for all you can eat (on the weekends and holidays). If you go with hungry teens like we do it feels like you really get your $$ worth! Service was wonderful and the wait staff is there to answer any questions or concerns you have. Don't forget to bring your $5 bill for the cotton candy. It doesn't take credit cards.

Yelp
Let me start by saying Christian was so helpful he made the whole experience unforgettable. The food fresh flavorful and amazing. The variety of flavors and endless possibilities will amaze you. Upon walking in lil robot greets you as well as person how cute... takes you around restaurant to seating which is lovely and well thought out as well. No details left out. Definitely a must try if you like hot pot
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
Left full and satisfied. Service was fantastic, very attentive servers. Ambiance was solid. Meat is sometimes cut a little thick. Portions are irregular but it is AYCE.

Kimberly D.

Yelp
Delicious and more than enough. You just wish that you could take it with you! So Hot... Soooooo Gooood! The robot is fun and food comes out quickly to seat you. The service of the waiters is fast and friendly. The decor and ambiance is relaxing and calming.

Yelp
Love love love So Hot. I've probably been here about 5 times now and it's always amazing. It's an AYCE hotpot spot serving up a variety of meats, veggies, and carbs. You place your soup order. We always do the medium tallow hot pot and then you order away on the iPad anything you want. We always get the beef, pork, and lamb. The veggies are always so good too. The sauce bar has about anything you could imagine to dip your cooked meats in. Service here is always pretty quick for us and the ambiance is great. Pretty lively and upbeat!
google avatar

Hannah F.

Yelp
So Hot in Cary provides one of the most fun eating experiences around. First you pick your base flavor to cook your food in - I got the spicy beef tallow. Depending on your tolerance you can pick the spice level 1-5. After picking your base you pick what food you want brought out from the AYCE menu on the iPad. They have everything from ribeye roll to hand pulled noodles to a variety of vegetables to choose from. Truly there is something for everyone here. While you are waiting on your food to come out & the pot to come to a boil, be sure to go to the sauce bar to make a custom dipping sauce! The staff is always friendly & do a good job of making sure you have what you need & that your base is at a good level. This was my first time here for lunch so I will say the lunch menu is quite a bit smaller than the dinner/weekend menu so keep that in mind. It was around $5 cheaper than the dinner/weekend menu & the place was much less crowded so I would highly recommend checking it out on a weekday if possible.

Melissa Z.

Yelp
I definitely see the hype now! This place has been popular for years now and I never tried it until this week and I understand why people love it so much. The restaurant is so lively. There were full tables of people all around us with a line going out the door, a bright and fun cotton candy vending machine, a robot taking people to their seats, servers walking around making sure people were doing okay, and delicious aromas coming from every table's hot pot. You can choose 1-4 different hot pot flavors and we chose a 2 flavor hot pot with Louisiana cajun and medium spicy beef broth. The beef broth was sooo good and flavorful and the cajun was just okay to me. There is also a sauce bar with different oils, sauces, and herbs you can mix together in a bowl to create your own dipping sauce. We ordered almost every type of meat and seafood there was except pork. The options were endless. $28.99 a person for all you can eat including the dessert is an amazing deal. There is also a very long list of vegetables, noodles, and tofu options as well. Our favorite items of the night were the udon noodles, sweet corn, mussels, hot spicy beef, sliced lamb, and donut dessert! We ordered 2 of each of these. You conveniently order everything from an ipad they put on the table and you can send your own orders to the kitchen, and keep ordering from there as much as you'd like. They do not take reservations for parties under 6 so your best bet is going early or preparing to wait 1-2 hours after 5 pm. It's worth it though. You also have a limit of 2 hours to dine. For our friend's birthday they changed the restaurant music to the happy birthday song and brought out sparklers and a dessert. It was very sweet. There is a chart that tells you how long each item needs to be cooked in the broth which was very helpful. Patience is key for this restaurant, don't dump everything in and make an overcooked seafood boil like we did. We still left stuffed and satisfied though.

Yelp
This spot popped up on Tiktok so we decided to give it a try while on our trip to Raleigh & BOY IT DID NOT DISSAPOINT!! The broths were amazing, their house sauce is ON POINT! All of the meats & vegetables are fresh & delicious!! My oldest said this was the best hot pot he's ever had & that we have to visit here every time we're in Raleigh & I couldn't agree more! Jack was our waiter & he was wonderful, very attentive even though it got packed super fast!! Don't think, just try it! P.S. They were upfront about the broth pricing & any additional fees which I appreciate after reading some of the reviews. We will definitely be back!!

Yelp
I love hot pot and I've been to many all-you-can-eat (AYCE) hot pot restaurants although this was the first AYCE hot pot place I've been to in the triangle area. As a whole, I thought So Hot had good food. There were an abundance of options including beef, lamb, muscles, watercress, lotus, bean sprouts, and many noodle options. There are also many broth options- I usually get the traditional broth and the spicy broth. Additionally, there is a sauce bar with so many sauces you can customize your sauce to whatever your heart desires. The service is very fast. You place your order on an iPad at your table and the staff brings out your food a few minutes later. There is a robot hostess that takes customers to their table. It is novel and entertaining for the first few minutes but gets repetitive after a while. Price wise, I think it is overpriced over $40 (approximately $44) once you include tax and tip. Even though they say it's $29 for AYCE, they do charge a bit extra for broth which is a hot pot staple. Overall, I enjoyed eating at So Hot. I think the broth is flavorful and the options are vast. Although due to the price, I don't see myself coming back here often.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Every time I go, the food is fresh, quick, and tastes fantastic. The amount of choices means that I can come here with anyone, and it seems like every single time I come back over the past two years, something else has been added and improved. Every time I come I think, this place can't get any better! And every time, there's an even more positive experience. Such a great spot

This is a BUSY "All you can eat" hot pot Chinese restaurant! If you come here be prepared to wait patiently .... But the aroma from the food makes you want to wait! So Hot provided an incredibly delicious dining experience. The food was absolutely mouthwatering, with a wide variety of fresh ingredients, raw meats, and flavorful broths and sauces to choose from. We tried most things. We weren't a fan of the shrimp, quail eggs and the beef tallow spicy broth for personal reasons. The staff was attentive and friendly, s/o to Andrew, he ensured that our dining experience was top-notch. I highly recommend So Hot hotpot for anyone looking for a memorable and satisfying hotpot experience.

Yelp
SO HOT IS SO GOOD! As a Chinese-American, I can promise you that So Hot delivers as true of a hot pot experience as possible in NC! If you asked me what my last meal would be, it's definitely hot pot. Hot pot is warm, comforting, and above all, DELICIOUS. You get your choice of broth (and at So Hot, you can try multiple!) and as many ingredients as you want. So Hot offers everything my family and I would often choose at hot pot and more! Their broths are delicious (highly recommend the spicy beef tallow), and their meats and veggies are always fresh. What I love most about So Hot is that they offer dessert options!! As part of the AYCE package, you can order their man tou (fried buns with condensed milk) or brown sugar rice desserts. These are both SO GOOD to the point where I'd pay money for them at a bakery. I love that So Hot really captures the entire authentic hot pot experience with a complete experience!

Yelp
This was my first time at a hot pot restaurant, but I can see why it's always busy and has lots of stars. A talking robot takes you to your seat and you use an iPad to order all the various dishes of things you want to cook. There were a lot of options so it was a be lot to take in. There are two sections of broth - one is regular and the other has more spice to it. It only took probably 10 minutes for the first round of plates to come out. I checked out the make your own sauce bar several times to mix up cilantro, scallions, peanut sauce and crushed peanuts. They bring out a lot of sliced meat because it cooks down a lot. We didn't like the skinny greenish color noodles because they were nearly impossible to pull out of the broth. We opted for getting more of the white noodles and rice. My "complaint" with the hot pot setup is that if you're eating with people who like types of food that you don't, it can be difficult to know what meat you are putting into your mouth. For example, they brought out full size prawns in all their natural sea life glory...legs, eyes, super long antenna things...too much for those of us who don't eat seafood. Those took a nice soak in the broth so Lord knows what parts I ate. The same thing happened with a meatball that I thought was beef - and most definitely was not. It would be helpful if the servers would bring you two sets of tongs so people aren't waiting on it. Service was very attentive. They had plenty of staff around who would periodically clean your old plates away, and refill drinks and the broth. In summary, I'm glad I tried something new but the whole experience wasn't very relaxing to me with having to dig around in the broth to find your food. It was more about me and less about the restaurant itself.

Yelp
Great AYCE hot pot. Our waiter Andy was wonderful and funny. The Cajun broth had so much flavor with just a little kick of spice. The meats are good quality.

Yelp
Delicious all you can eat hot pot! So Hot is by far my most frequented restaurant in NC! The wait can be long (up to an 1.5 hr usually) if you come in the evening but it is worth it. My go to is the two broth combo with beef tallow mild spicy and original beef broth. The beef tallow broth even at mild level spicy is quite spicy! The menu items are always fresh. Menu options are extensive from various meats, meatballs, seafood, tofu, noodles, and vegetables. I recommend the hand pulled noodles! It pairs well in the spicy broth! Everything is ordered through an iPad at each table. They also have a sauce bar! Go make your sauce as you wait for your orders to arrive. The fried milk buns with condense milk are heavenly! I eat at least 2-3 buns every time I go! Service is excellent! I strongly recommend So Hot!

Yelp
Been a customer here since they opened! My parents love to come here bc you can order whatever you want! They did upgrade the sauce counter. Everything is not just open in the air, to me it's a bit cleaner. I also saw the sesame balls, sweet taro dessert soup and the fried chips at the sauce counter. Not much changed but the quality is still high

Yelp
This is my favorite spot to bring my family when they're in town, has something for everyone ! Prices are super reasonable, especially compared to other similar places in the area, and the wait staff always goes above and beyond. We're particular fans of the Barbie cocktail and the milk buns for dessert ! Best hotpot in the Raleigh-area !!
