"Marblehead Vietnamese restaurant Soall Bistro has expanded to Beverly. The new restaurant, which is called Soall Viet Kitchen, is located at 211 Rantoul St. and currently offers takeout, but eventually it will add indoor seating as well as a market for items such as spices, condiments, and house-made sauces and broths." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Google
A cozy Vietnamese restaurant in Beverly! It was busy on a Saturday night so we had to wait for a while. It’s definitely worth the wait! Everything we got was delicious (pho, rice bowl, vermicelli noodle bowl) and we highly recommend the sweet potato and shrimp fritters. They also have meat (beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, salmon) and tofu options that you can pick to customize your dish. They staffs are so helpful and friendly!

Google
I work locally and my team and I order fr here often. Their food and customer service are awesome. They are always consistent. My favorite thing is the rice bowl with Brussels and bbq chicken. Their coffee is great too. 10/10!!

I love this place!!! I crave the beef/chicken pho it's just like a warm hug The menu has other great options like spring rolls, banh mi, and so much more. Staff also gives great recommendations if you are stuck. The owner is the sweetest person ever!!! Always will stop to say hi and check in on how the food is. She makes sure that the food served reflects high quality. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant and even the other locations in Marblehead Sevice 10/10 Food 10/10 Gf options, and allergy compliant

Google
10 Stars, if we could. My wife and I felt like we’re let in on a well-kept secret; Sa’s inspired menu and food are exceptional, truly. Her sauces are just so f-ing good they brighten-up each and every dish; The Mango Salad, the Sticky Ribs, the Shrimp (best I’ve ever had) and then the Soups…Ohhhh the Soups. What an amazing women and visionary; Bringing such goodness to Beverly; we are in awe:) and in love w/ SOALL. See you soon, Sa!

Google
The nicest Pho I've ever had. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. So glad to find a local Vietnamese restaurant with great food and prices. We will be back 😁❤

Google
The place is pretty relaxed and fairly quick. Overall the food is pretty tasty. I feel like it’s a little more Americanized version of pho. LOVE their Brussel sprouts and their mango salad.

Google
First time and our experience was wonderful. Entire staff were very pleasant & so polite. We ordered the vegetable pho and it was perfection! Truly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend the pho soup, best I have ever tasted!!

Yelp
Soall is a favorite of ours. The food is amazing and the staff joyful. My personal favorites are the tofu or shrimp rolls. Addictive.

Yelp
We were greeted by one of the owners, Sa. She was very friendly and a pleasure to speak with. Our waitress was excellent, attentive and friendly. The food was incredible. We ordered the Shrimp Tamarind Soup (we both agreed it was one of the best soups we've ever had), the Ribs (fall off the bone Tender), Shrimp spring rolls and sautéed veggies. The dining room is modern and well set-up, not jammed together. There is a nice little bar area. This will be a regular stop when we're in town. Thanks for the great experience.

Yelp
Dined here for my last night here during my work conference trip and had mixed feelings about the experience. The restaurant was of decent size, and I decided to sit at the bar since I was dining alone. The bar side seating was a nice touch and added to the ambiance of the place. To start, I ordered the mango and mint salad as an appetizer. While the flavors were good, I was expecting a younger, more sour mango, but it was still enjoyable. However, the real disappointment came with the main course - the rare beef pho with an IPA. The pho broth was delicious, with rich flavors and the right amount of spices. However, I was disappointed with the noodle ratio. There were literally only three spoonfuls of noodles in a big bowl of broth, and to make matters worse, the noodles were broken. It seemed like they were the last bits of noodles before cooking a new batch, and it left me feeling unsatisfied. As a fan of pho, the noodle-to-broth ratio is important to me, and this was a letdown. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, with a casual and relaxed vibe. The flavors of the pho broth were good, but the lack of noodles and the broken noodles left me feeling unsatisfied. I would hope for an improvement in the noodle portion size in the future.

Yelp
Always love coming here! Best meals me and my boyfriend have had on the north shore and love the service very attentive and excellent attentiveness to any allergies or meal restrictions on my part! Ambiance is beautiful and delicious

Jenny M.

Yelp
D E L I C I O U S I got the chicken pho with added soft boiled egg. I sipped the soup in traffic waiting to get it back to my hotel and I could barely put it down to drive. YUMMO. Super friendly people too! Highly recommend.

Kenji G.

Yelp
Excellent get the spicy beef. Little short on the noodles but still really good. Bon mi are excellent

Mel S.

Yelp
Great service, really good food and a nice spot to hang out in by the window. The sauce that came with the spring roll was so good that I kept it to finish with my main course. Only complaint would be the sauce on my bowl had a bit more sugar than I am used to with Vietnamese food (and have had in multiple places including Vietnam). The service was on point. I came in late so was the last to leave but did not feel rushed to get out the door. Nice indoor seating area. Would come again if ever in the area.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Amazing! I downed the summer rolls and pork vermicelli so quick I forgot to take pics. Really fresh, tasty and worth the trip. Staff is super friendly as well and the pork off the summer roll is a thick slice. I could just order 4 of them and call it a day. Must try if your in the area.

Francis W.

Yelp
Awesome food, great service. A new age place to have pho. Highly recommend trying it.

Solo N.

Yelp
got my usual order that I've been getting since the restaurant opened: bahn mi pork and bahn mi chicken with a side of brussels sprouts but today everything tasted different. The brussels sprouts didn't even have a lime in it. The nuoc cham was less punchy and the sweet potato shrimp fritters were bland.

Tristan S.

Yelp
Chicken Pho and Curry Chicken Noodle soup were good but second time in a row there was an item and modification missing in our takeout order. Will try here for sit down one time and hope the accuracy is better in person. Learning lesson for me to check bag before leaving.

Austin B.

Yelp
This has become a regular spot for my wife and I. But on this occasion I went with an old pal of mine. Got the bao buns for an app. Absolutely delicious, very flavorful. I got the rice bowl (the rice is underneath all the toppings) with the BBQ pork and the lemongrass chicken. The pork was definitely the highlight of the dish. The waiter and counter people were very nice. I plan on going here again soon.

Yelp
Went in tonight after a movie at the Cabot. EXCELLENT service! Food was awesome, especially the Brussel sprouts- they alone were worth the trip. The braised ribs were equally phenomenal... will DEFINITELY be back!

Cesy F.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Loved every single thing I ordered and the ambiance is very beautiful. Shrimp Fritter BBQ chicken platter

Cassandra B.

Yelp
Soall Bistro has the best vegan tofu-veggie pho I've ever tasted. I appreciate that Soall fills each pho bowl with an ample serving of noodles and veggies. Their vegan fried spring rolls and brussel sprouts are equally impressive, as well. I don't even like brussel sprouts, but I love the ones here. I'm so happy that this local business placed roots in Beverly - they've significantly improved the vegan game in the area. Soall is located on Rantoul Street and metered parking is available out front. The customer service is great and the bistro itself is brand spanking new. For now I'm only doing takeout, but I look forward to dining-in in the near future. YELP'S 2021 REVIEW CHALLENGE: #2

Yelp
Coming from a Vietnamese person, you can tell the flavors here are authentic... it's just simply not good. This place doesn't do Viet food any justice which is made worse by the branding which is too Americanized in my opinion--It felt like the flavors were compromised to fit the American palette just like the menu was created unauthentically to fit into the area. I love a good intersection of cultures, but this wasn't it. The banh mi was not bad, they got the bread down right. However, the bun bo hue was the saddest bowl I've ever seen a Vietnamese restaurant serve and the canh chua was way too salty. I also ordered ca kho to, served with dry rice. How does an Asian restaurant screw up rice? Anyway, perhaps I'll come back to try another sandwich but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. On a side note, the service was great!

K. Brooke Z.

Yelp
Love Soall Viet Kitchen! Their BBQ chicken bahn mi is my favorite, though the tofu is a close second. I like their Pho, it's fairly basic but done well. I frequently add a fresh roll to my order, it comes with a yummy dipping sauce. The folks here are super kind and if you get curbside they are QUICK to pop over to your car. Which is good because you have to hover on a side street while waiting.

Eme M.

Yelp
Amazing food and service!! So lite and fresh but very filling. The vegan options are delicious and my carnivore friends loved their meals as well!! I highly recommend!! Food and service is outstanding at both locations!!

Kimberly K.

Yelp
We had a fantastic meal at Soall Viet tonight on Rantoul in Beverly. We started with the beef skewers, then moved on to beef pho for me and beef and pork rice bowl for him. Two glasses of wine and it totalled under 60 bucks. Everything was delicious and hot and the service was exceptional. Atmosphere is really nice too. I'm so lucky to have a wonderful little local joint like this one nearby.

Allison N.

Yelp
This such a wonderful addition to the Beverly food scene. We've dinned in and ordered take out. Quality of food is 10/10 and portions are generous for the price. Flavors on every dish we have tried is outstanding, especially the broths of their pho and soups. Favorite thing on the menu are the short ribs. Fall off the bone with a sweet and savory sauce. We also enjoy the kid menu options for our toddler!

Karen 2.

Yelp
nice restaurant overall 4.5 stars rounding up to 5. the dining room is on the smaller side and the seating is on the more uncomfortable side. food is really tasty!

Jen B.

Yelp
We've been a few times now. Excellent food & friendly staff. Easy menu in that it's not complex, it's offering what they offer, not everything they can think of, which is refreshing. They can accommodate my celiac with gluten free items fairly well. I do think they need more staff though, or perhaps better training on consolidating server steps. Having servers pack to-go orders takes them away from in-house & tipping customers who are waiting for their drinks etc -perhaps another person could do this to allow for less stressed staff. I would love this location to survive if possible as we do love the food. Stressed staff takes away from that.

Tara D.

Yelp
It's a beautiful restaurant in a very accessible area of Beverly. I love how the owners are Vietnamese women and take pride in their product. The food is fresh, made with care and impressive presentation. Close to Elephant Wok type interior and attention to food. The recipes could use a little work. Very vegetable heavy and delicious but this is not the typical flavors for the soups or meats that you might expect and the mom and pop stores. They have a unique flavor and one, if you are not spoiled by the msg and sugar in the regular restaurants, might not rave about their version. The take great care and pride in their work and really love this option.

Laura F.

Yelp
The best Pho I have ever had. Chill cool atmosphere. Nice tunes not a loud place. The rest of the menu is perfect. I saw the waitress bring out the caramelized pork chop dinner... looked amazing. Can't wait to come back and try it. Oh and the Banh Mi. Love women owned businesses! So coming back.

Yelp
Everyone who has paid attention the last several years can see that Rantoul St in Beverly MA has morphed into a warm and welcome dining boulevard. What was once a driveway to a liquor store with the pleasant ground-shaking commuter rail, has now transformed in to a sought out location for great food and fellowship. With beautifully designed apartments comes even more intuitive store front restaurants. And what better combination would there be for welcoming in Soall Viet Kitchen. And what better timing! With zero Vietnamese spots worth your time or money anywhere north of Boston, Soall really does answer that call to be a great and affordable dining experience. From growing up in a household where vermicelli was good for breakfast lunch dinner and desert, a vermicelli bowl at Soall was everything I could ask for. They didn't jip me by charging 7 extra dollars for an 1 extra noodle but rather put 2 proteins on that garden baby! A simple spot with an enticing menu, clean surfaces and warm and friendly staff, I gobbled that bowl happily. Shrimp was fresh, Beef skewers were juicy and flavorful, and the sauces was exactly how i remembered in the old days. I will note, i think the vermicelli could be more thinly strained, but thats it. I will most certainly return here to try some more items on the menu. I felt welcomed and cared for, with professional service and hot food. A great spot to dine if you are looking for an experience.

Yelp
First things first. The pho was VERY impressive the first time, The second time I went, seems it was reheated in a microwave. This honestly wouldn't have bothered me so much if the young woman working there wasn't SO bad at communicating with customers. Dismissive, taking plates away without asking if your done, Forgetting to bring utensils, and being dismissive when asking for them. This happened on two separate visits. Really off putting, it's a shame because I'm sure the owner of the restaurant works VERY hard to maintain such a beautiful restaurant that it is. If your not a people person, don't work in hospitality/customer service.

Peter Z.

Yelp
Ordered takeout and was very impressed! The braised ribs were delicious and the Bahn mi's were great (it's all about the bread) just clean fresh flavors. A welcome addition to the Beverly dining scene.

Steve B.

Yelp
What a great addition to Rantoul Street and downtown Beverly. Located about one short block from Beverly Commuter Rail Station, Soall is a gorgeous restaurant serving delightful Vietnamese food. Even though the menu options are small, there is plenty of great items to choose from and they have a little bit of something for everyone including vegetarian, gluten-free and extremely healthy. They do serve wine but with a limited selection. All in all, a welcome addition to the ever-expanding restaurant scene in this lovely town on the North Shore.

Gabrielle M.

Yelp
We ordered the Vegetable and Tofu Pho, Clay Pot Chicken, Chicken Pho and we also had the vegan spring rolls. We picked up take out but the interior of this new spot on Rantoul looks really bright, clean and inviting. Everything was so, so fresh and delicious! We are thrilled to have this wonderful family opening another great location here in Beverly! Can't way to try the rest of the menu!

Renee M.

Yelp
The food is good here but beware if getting takeout- the brown paper bags disintegrate from the hot, somewhat leaky soup containers. My meal spilled out over myself and the ground while walking to my car. When I went back to ask for a replacement I was told condescendingly, "That's why we ask people to carry them from the bottom."...which is what I had been doing and it still tore open all over me. Then heard arguing in the back that I "dropped it." Good food but poor customer service, won't be back.

Alicia D.

Yelp
Wonderful! I'm so glad to have found this gem right over the bridge from Salem. I stopped in for lunch and got the chicken Banh Mi. Delicious, the price was right, and the service was super friendly. Can't wait to take the hubs here for dinner. Oh, and they have wine, so hurrah for that!

Veronica F.

Yelp
I would post a photo but it looked and smelled so delicious that I chowed down right away. I got the Salmon clay pot with rice and it was so good! I want to say it was a bit too sweet and there wasnt much spice to it. I thought I asked for mild and there were some chilis but I didnt get the spice. I'll try spicy next time! The addition of the lettuce and pickled veggies helped cleanse the palette and kept me going back for more. I'd be interested in seeing some Vietnamese style beverages. I really love the counter set up and the food came out very fast. Adding this to my regular takeout rotation!

Elisabeth L.

Yelp
Wonderful food but terrible service. We were basically neglected and the place only had a few customers.

Emily A.

Yelp
My husband and I went to Soall Bistro for the first time this week. The Vietnamese food was fabulous. Fresh and delicious and made with pride and care. We had a shrimp and chicken spring roll which were a work of art and both beautiful and delicious. Then we ordered the fried sweet potato and shrimp fritter appetizer and that was so incredibly good! It had a delicious sauce too and the taste was incredible. Again beautiful to look at plus delicious. I'm craving this appetizer! For our entree we both had a pork Banh Mi which was very tasty and the ingredients were all high quality. The bread too was great (soft, fresh and delish). If you haven't tried Soall yet and you want to try Vietnamese food you couldn't find a better restaurant. I'm delighted that they are in Beverly and I will be back soon!

Eliza Y.

Yelp
My friend found Soall Viet Kitchen - probably on HappyCow - and suggested we stop in for lunch while discussing her wedding plans. I was late, so when I arrived, she filled me in on all of the vegan options on the menu. She reported having had a great time chatting with our server who really understood what we were looking for. Between appetizers, noodle bowls, and pho, there's a bit of everything to keep vegans and the vegan curious happy and well fed. We both opted for the veg & tofu pho and her husband to be had a noodle bowl. The pho is served in giant bowls. Honestly, more like troughs. And it's a good mix of savory broth, rice models, veggies, and tofu puffs. They include extra jalapeño and cilantro on the side, along with hoisin and sriracha for customizable flavor enhancement. Unless you are a competitive eater, you'll likely need to bring half of your bowl home with you, but the folks at Soall will happily oblige. I didn't eat the noodle bowl, but it also got a solid review. At the end of our meal, already counting ourselves lucky to have had such a bountiful meal, our server asked if we'd like dessert. I was already stuffed from the pho, but I didn't want to discourage the restaurant from offering vegan desserts, so we ordered a couple. It was a warm, rich, and creamy tapioca situation with bananas laced throughout. I'm glad I didn't know what to expect because this blew me out the water!! And I don't even like bananas. So, I highly recommend stopping at Soall and indulging in the desert if it's available! I'm not sure if they are available on UberEats or GrubHub, but I wish they were because I could go for a bowl of that pho right about now! So why did they get 4 stars for an otherwise excellent experience? There seem to be issues with ordering veg options and receiving fish or meat. This is a big problem, allergy-wise. If Soall Viet Kitchen can proactively address this issue, I'd have no reservations about recommending them!

Louann B.

Yelp
Went Saturday night for an early dinner. Service was excellent. Polite, attentive and knowledgeable. Food came out very fast. Got the vegetable and tofu pho and loved it. So incredibly flavorful. Very large portion. The shrimp spring roll was the best I have ever had and the sauce was amazing. We will definitely be back

Jill D.

Yelp
Fabulous Vietnamese spot bringing the taste of traditional Vietnamese flavors to downtown Beverly! The pho broth is great and I always get the rare beef. Have tried the clay pot and it was amazing! Shrimp and pork egg rolls are some of the best I've had. Friendly staff and wonderful owners.

Kim P.

Yelp
So glad to have this friendly spot in Beverly! Could eat the ribs and Brussel sprouts every day! Have eaten takeout many times since they opened and never disappointed. The chicken pho and salmon clay pot are delicious.

Mary R.

Yelp
We recently ordered take-out from Soall Bistro (first time there) and got the Salmon Clay Pot and the Marinated Eggplant Banh Mi. Both were delicious. What really impressed us was their use of compostable containers instead of the typical plastic (let's face it, many of these do not get recycled even though they have a number). We'll definitely be back!

Asha B.

Yelp
Let me tell you that this is one of my favorite places to go. Pho has always been my comfort food and I'm never let down when I come here. From the day Sa and Mia opened this location I have been given nothing but the best service. When I say I come here weekly it's not a joke. I love the service and the time they put into the food. Please come and give this restaurant some love.

Kaitlyn S.

Yelp
This place is amazing. You must get the pork bao it's amazing. Everything else we have had is delicious too I love the salmon clay pot.

Carol K.

Yelp
This place is very clean and the food is fresh and delicious! I am vegan and had several options to choose from. I got the tofu egg rolls and vegetable pho. The have a small beer and wine selection.

Gabby L.

Yelp
The food was delicious but I did end up with food poisoning. Worth the risk? Yea probably. Just maybe stay away from the chicken.

Kathy G.

Yelp
I so wanted to like this new establishment. The broth was not your usual rich broth missing flavors that are typical of Pho. Tons of extremely dry chicken.!The noodles were thinner than most pho has and there were hardly any veggies. 2 slices of thin onion and a sprinkle of bean sprouts. I also ordered the cabbage salad that tasted just like soap!!! I so wish I had something positive to add!!! Oh yes the place is really cute and the young woman who waited on me was very sweet!!!! I usually always take pictures but it never crossed my mind.....I did let them know, but no response yet!!!

Jazmine K.

Yelp
This was SO good! I was surprised how amazing it was considering it was take out. We asked for the broth on the side and warmed it up when we got home. I picked it up curb side pick up and it was so easy and perfectly on time. Can't wait to eat inside the restaurant and get the full experience!!

Ian H.

Yelp
Bit pricey, but most of what we have had has been delicious. The spring rolls/cha gio (which are labeled as egg rolls) and what I would usually call summer rolls (which are labeled as spring rolls) are standouts, as is the pho and bun. I have generally liked the Banh mi as well, but had the char sui Banh mi today and I would not recommend. Very chewy (not in a good way) and not much flavor. Other than that, highly recommend.

Zach P.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The vegan egg rolls and veggie pho really hit the spot on a cold day!

Liz L.

Yelp
I huge shout out to owner, Sa. I purchased a gift card for our daughter which was unfortunately misplaced. After emailing Sa, she made things right and presto, our daughter now has a replacement electronic gift card. With too much stress in the world right now, Sa's commitment to her customers is so refreshing!! Our daughter's family loves everything about Soall Viet Kitchen, both dining in when Covid allows, and take out when things rear their ugly heads again. Between the extraordinary food and customer service, you can't beat Soall Viet Kitchen!!!

Benjamin W.

Yelp
excellent pork bao's and a warm, delicious pho. this place is a great addition to the neighborhood! Quick and easy curbside pickup too!

Sonny N.

Yelp
The quality of food in this restaurant is below Viet's standard. I had a "Bún bò Huế ". I'm sorry to say It was terrible. I've had it so many times and at many places and this is the first time that I have to say this gives "Bún Bò Huế " a bad name.
