The Condor Flats facade may be gone, but thankfully the Soarin experience is still there although for me, it was Soarin Over California (yeah, it was some time ago). I have done a few of the soaring type rides and I always enjoy them with the motion, blown air (sometimes mist) and the swooping and swerving over fantastic scenery. I tend to like these rides more than the get wet ones or the motion simulators (which can be bumpy and jerky) or the coasters. You feel like you are getting a better immersive experience.

Another fun ride! Very cool feeling as you soar over the beautiful state of California. Early in the morning the wait isn't too bad. Very much enjoyed by my whole bunch. We'd do it again!

One of the top 3 rides for my daughter. Caught it early with a lightning pass. Don't go if you're afraid of heights! The seats literally pull you up with your legs hanging in front of the giant screen with some wind and tipping/shaking. The aerial flight view is really unique for this location and it felt surreal flying around different landmarks. One slightly annoying thing is that the scene changes is always some animal, water, or something splashing directly into the camera angle.

I absolutely love this ride . Being someone who gets nauseous on a lot of the rides , this ride is my go to . It's beautiful, the smells amaze you . It's seriously fun for the whole family..my top favorite ride at California adventure 💜🌴 there is no height requirement. Put your ears under the seat. Fly high. My whole family loves this ride. My kids love the flying high. Can't wait to go back.

We rope dropped this ride on a Wednesday morning, had a great spot in line and then got the announcement that ride was shut down due to technical difficulties :( This line is always long! The ride is so awesome, you really do feel like you are flying.

Google
I love this ride! It's the perfect way to take a break and cool off from the heat. The line was short—we were on in under 15 minutes. This simulation takes you on an incredible journey around the world, making me want to visit every destination. Overall, it's a fantastic experience!

Google
I highly recommend getting a fast pass for this one. The line can get pretty long and having that fast pass is a life saver. Overall, this ride is a great experience seeing some amazing views around the world. It can be not as exciting with feet in the way so make sure you get a good spot!

Soarin' Around the World at Disneyland's California Adventure is an absolute must-do! 🌍✨ This ride offers one of the most breathtaking and immersive experiences in the park. From the moment you step into the queue, you’re surrounded by a calming and adventurous atmosphere with soft lighting and subtle aviation-themed decor that sets the mood perfectly. Once you're seated, the magic begins. As you lift off, the feeling of soaring through the air is so realistic — your feet dangle as the massive screen in front of you fills your entire field of vision. The sights and sounds are incredible — you’ll find yourself gliding over iconic landmarks like the Great Wall of China, the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal, and the Pyramids of Egypt. The transitions between each location are smooth and natural, making you feel like you’re really traveling across the globe. What makes Soarin' even more immersive is the use of scents — you can actually smell the grasslands of Africa, the salty ocean breeze, and the fresh scent of cherry blossoms. The wind effects and gentle movement of the ride simulate the feeling of actual flight, adding another layer of realism. The musical score is another highlight — it’s grand and inspiring, perfectly matching the visuals and making the whole experience feel like a magical journey. The combination of the stunning imagery, the music, and the motion effects create an emotional and unforgettable experience. Soarin' has a moderate wait time, but it’s absolutely worth it. If you can, try to get a seat in the middle row, as it offers the best views without distortion from the edges of the screen. It’s suitable for all ages — not too intense for kids but still exciting enough for adults. Soarin' Around the World captures the wonder of travel and adventure in a way that only Disney can deliver. It’s one of those rides you’ll want to experience again and again! 🌍✈️❤️

Yelp
Soarin' is one of the many popular rides here in Disney California Adventures. It's a fun hang glider simulation ride that's a must do every visit. You go to lots of different iconic places throughout the world and hang glide through them for an aerial view. The wait for this ride can get pretty long so if it dips below 30 minutes is when I try to get in the queue. There is a single rider line for this but may not be that fast. Sometimes they'll change it up to Soarin' over California during one of the food festivals. The pre-ride info video is iconic and the ride is very immersive. I always get nervous when riding this in case things fall out of my pockets. I make sure I put things in my bag that I store underneath the seat.

Yelp
Soarin' Around the World is one of those rides that I don't have to always go on at Disney's California Adventures (DCA), but if I ever find a lull or find the lines aren't super long and I want a little rest from the heat of Southern California, then I'll find myself here. L O C A T I O N When entering DCA, it's towards the right after you hit the main circle. L I N E S The lines here can get atrociously long so keep an eye out on the line times. It is a large capacity ride, but it takes a while to load and offload folks from the ride. E X P E R I E N C E If you do not like heights or are prone to get motion sickness, you may not want to go on this ride. It doesn't move a lot but it lifts you pretty high up in the air with your legs dangling. Then you basically "fly" through different landmarks all over the world. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty and they put in some scent magic when you go through different areas. I do love the smell of oranges. O V E R A L L It's not a favorite, but it's a good one to go to at least once. I feel like it's a slightly dated and maybe needs a bit of tech improvements. But it's a covered ride with wind coming at you, so it's a good place to cool down if you also want to do a ride.

Yelp
I love this ride. One of the things that make this ride so special is they have Wings of Fame showing all different types of planes and the history. My Dad worked for Lockheed and help built the SR71 and U2 plane to name a few. I lost my Dad last year and this brings another way I can celebrate him! . Plus the flight attendant is named Patrick. My brothers name was Patrick and we lost him in 1998. You see so many great places to add to your bucket list. Give this ride a try because you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I do miss Soarin over California. I miss the orange smell. We must move on and grow up to the Soarin over the world. Lines move very quickly. They have a hallway inside where you wait with fun aviation facts and pictures. The video you watch before going in, is always entertaining. You can even catch the destinations that they go to during the show. I rode on the 2nd and 1st rows. I like the 1st row best. You don't have feet dangling in your field of vision. You're also highest. I love the dirt and grass smells. The India scents were so floral and amazing. I love the different taste and feels that throw in there throughout. I'm glad they have brought this back!
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Beautiful attraction. Lots of history on the hallway in. Loading is smooth. Great depiction of California highlights. Knocked a star for the actual film footage being a tad stale. Unforgivable for a business in the business of motion pictures. Cast members were super friendly and kind. A must see in DCA.

Yelp
Way back in the day during the first year that Disney California Adventure had opened in 2001, a friend of mine was a Disney Imagineer and accompanied me to both parks Disneyland and DCA. Soarin' Around The World was once upon a time Soarin' Over California. I remembered it to be a magnificent ride, gliding in the air and seeing beautiful scenery of various parts of the state. There were also lovely scents of the redwood trees and orange blossoms. I am told by a friend that this ride comes back temporarily for the Food and Wine Festivals. So fast wayy forward to summer of 2024 and the ride is now Soarin' Around the World. My nephews and I headed to this line first on a Monday early afternoon. The mist outside and the cool AC inside the hangar was nice on a 90 degree day. The line was not too long of a wait. Beneath your seat, there is a pouch to place your stuff if you have a small backpack. It's so chill and serene gliding over beautiful scenery in the various continents. Polar bears! Elephants! The Taj Mahal! Eiffel Tower! Pyramids! South Pacific Islands! (not sure which one it was specifically) Serengeti and the scent of grass! Other yelpers have mentioned seeing dangling feet of the other rows. Assuming we were in the 1st row as we didn't? If I did see them, that would seem kinda odd and probably a star deduction? Overall for me who has not been to Disney in ages, this ride has that Disney magic!

Yelp
Great ride to feel like you're traveling all around the world.. right at Disneyland Parks! It feels like you're literally flying. So much fun, and cool breezy air too!

Yelp
This ride is so special and will forever hold a place in my heart. I personally love it when it has the over California overlay because well I grew up here lol. It's such a fun experience and super relaxing to do on a busy park day. The scent effects they have during the ride make even more interactive. Do yourself a favor and ride this ride it's worth the wait.

Yelp
Soarin' Around the World is one of my favorite rides in either Disneyland or California Adventure. It's beautiful and relaxing, a welcome experience in the middle of a hectic theme park day. The line can get quite long, and I was happy to skip most of it on my last Disney trip, when we got Lightning Lane Passes for the first time. We booked our arrival window a few hours in advance, and it was great to get into that faster lane. Even there, we faced maybe a 10- or 15-minute wait. My husband stayed outside with our napping toddler while I took our four-year-old, and then rode alone using Rider Switch. The plan had been for our kid Leo B. to ride twice, but I guess the breezy flight was too scary for him. He had a complete meltdown when we suggested he go again. He's four and not the bravest, but I was surprised by this. Soarin' is a really gentle ride, with easy, limited movement. I think it's only height-limited (40" or taller) because of the size of the seats. I told Leo in advance that we'd be sitting and looking at a giant screen, and not actually flying through the sky. He must have stopped believing me when the seats tilted down and the ride got going--I guess that would have been pretty scary. If you understand that you're not in mortal danger, though, Soarin' is truly lovely. I rode Soarin' Over California first, many years ago, and have since been on both versions. I do miss the California scenes, which are set to come back in 2025, but Soarin' Around the World is just as wonderful. Sweeping views of beautiful sights from around the globe, edited into a seamless, immersive ride, enhanced with accompanying scents. We apparently go to Disneyland every year now, and I plan to get Leo back on Soarin' on our next visit. I know he'll love the orange groves if he understands they're not hundreds of feet below us, luring us into a fragrant death.

Yelp
Soaring is awesome, it's like traveling without the cost of going to the locations, the sites sounds and smells make this attraction feel like you are actually there

Yelp
This ride is fun, very much a 4D experience. You strap in and genuinely feel like You are soaring around the world on an adventure. The huge screen, sense of Motion, wind and mist, the smells, quite the immersive experience. Not a ride that I think about going back to but certainly not a ride I would Pass up on doing when there.

Yelp
This was the one ride that my friends insisted that we had to go on during our visit. They told me it was the best thing in the park and showcased the area/state. But, they missed the mark with that last part. It did not detract from how good the ride was. To address the showcasing the area/state part, the last time either of them were on this ride, it showcased California. Everything that California had to offer, what that entails, I'm not sure as I never got to see it. What I got to see was the world. They must of switched it back to this after some time. With the world, you get to zoom around the globe and see the notable places that people say are must sees. From New York to Paris to London, and a few other locations on the way. It didn't take too long for us to get on the ride and once we were buckled in, sandals off, we were up. We started soaring and it was breathtaking. I can see why people love this ride so much and how it must of have been when it was California themed. Maybe it'll switch back to that, but until then, enjoy the world.

Yelp
This ride offers a unique experience that is accessible to everyone, regardless of their physical abilities or circumstances. Initially the ride used to be called Soarin' [over California], but has been transformed into Soarin' Around the World. This reimagining adds a special element that improves an really cool immersive experience for all participants. The upgrade to Soarin' Around the World has broadened its audience and enhanced the adventure, giving guests with stunning views from different places around the world.

Yelp
Soarin' Around the World, Soaring Over the Horizon and Soaring: Fantastic Flight, is a flight motion simulator attraction at Disney California Adventure. Super fun... especially when I want to take a break and sit for a bit lol. Currently is not soaring over California.
google avatar

Yelp
My kid said this was his favorite ride. It was okay. The movement at times was a bit much: the video makes it feel like you're moving when you're not. I wasn't nauseous, but it was borderline nausea. The kids raved about how much they liked it.
google avatar

Rosabell M.

Yelp
I love this ride! It's the perfect way to take a break and cool off from the heat. The line was short--we were on in under 15 minutes. This simulation takes you on an incredible journey around the world, making me want to visit every destination. Overall, it's a fantastic experience!

Yelp
Cute little ride where Patrick Warburton greets you before "boarding" your flight. The seats lift high up and you're watching this gigantic screen with nice sights around the world. Animals definitely look computer animated but I guess between that and filming in a helicopter up close with actual wild animals and probably scaring them...well this is better.
google avatar

Liz J.

Yelp
Such an underrated ride. We were lucky to get a walk-on as we went early in the day and it's just as good as I remember. The smells over the elephants, Taj Mahal and ocean are so nostalgic! As someone who didn't grow up in Cali I prefer this to Soaring over California, but it's still worth a ride when they change it. A must do!
google avatar

Elyse F.

Yelp
Originally named Soarin' Over California, the attraction took riders on an adventure through California. The ride was updated a number of years ago to match the version at Disney World. Patrick Warburton, who voiced Kronk in the Emperor's New Groove, gives riders their preflight instructions. Being huge Emperor's New Groove fans, we always look forward to these preflight instructions. Soarin' Around the World is designed to make riders feel like they are taking a hang glider adventure around the world. Fly over oceans and icebergs. See animals run across the Serengeti. Fly over an European castle and the castles of Disneyland and Disney World. Soarin' takes guests on a fast pace journey across Earth's seven continents. Making each glider hold three rows of travelers allows more guests to enjoy the ride at a time. Seats are brought close to the screen. This, along with sensory enhancements, helps give give the ride a more realistic experience.

Yelp
Super lucky to know some of the cast members that were in charge of this ride so of course they gave us the best seats. Did you know that this ride goes 50 feet in the air? Such a great way to cool off. Love , this place #5Stars.

Yelp
While I was hoping I'd get to ride Soaring over California it turned out to be Soaring Around the World instead. This is the exact same ride over in the Land pavillion at EPCOT center. Since I enjoyed it there I knew that I would love it here. Patrick Warburton AKA "Puddy" from the Seinfeld series gives you a briefing before you enter the ride. After taking a numbered place you walk into your assigned row to have a seat and put fasten your seat belt. Small items can be stored in the pocket near the bottom of your seat. A cast member directs you where you can safely put larger items on the floor so that you don't loose them. As soon as the ride starts a roof swings down over the entire unit to give you the sensation of hang gliding. The entire unit is lifted so you can watch an Omni max video featuring not only the 7 wonders of the world but also the great icons, frozen waters with breaching whales, the great pyramids of Egypt, the great wall of China, Sydney harbor, the South Pacific, Disneyland, and a lot more! (Note-in Disney World they substitute the Magic Kingdom). They angle the film so at times you feel like you are "touching" water-don't worry they don't splash any on you. You can feel the coldness as you soar over icy regions. All in all the ride is gentle and more relaxing. Ideally it is best to be in the first row so that you won't see hanging feet from above but nevertheless the ride is just as enjoyable. To cut time, I'd recommend using Lightning Lane. Located in Grizzly Peak in CA Adventure.

Yelp
When working, this ride is great. Sadly it broke while we were "loaded" and we were never able to make it back and get back on.

Yelp
Feel the adventure In my opinion, the most awesome ride here. Spending all day in the park (I know you continue to read those reviews), this ride takes you on an aerial tour of the world. It was closed earlier in the day and I was pretty disappointed but it opened up after our lunch. The line was long but lighting pass allowed us to just breeze right through. I'm not sure how to describe the seating arrangements. Think of how all those battle droids in the Star Wars prequels got around in those troop carriers. Stacked in racks that went up and down. Well all the rows lifts up at different tiers so you see those above you their feet and below those riders are seeing your feet. Don't be dropping your slippers. Once you're lifted up the show starts. And what a show. You're soaring though mountains and forests and clouds. You visit Asia and Europe, Central America, and USA. There's no spinning, drastic drops, just planting you butt in the seat, wide eyed, and amazed. This was great and lived up to it's reputation. Overall five grand stars. You won't be disappointed and get the lighting pass. Now excuse me, I dropped something :p M

Yelp
Take to the skies over some of the most majestic places on earth. Soarin' Around the World is a motion simulator ride at California Adventure that simulates a hang gliding flight over iconic locations including the Matterhorn, Great Wall, Taj Mahal, Great Pyramids, Fiji islands, Eiffel Tower, and more. The ride makes it feel like you're really flying, with your legs dangling over the seat, tilting and swaying in sync with real footage on the huge 180-degree domed screen, scents wafting towards you. And the film is slightly different at each Disney park, ending with a scene flying over each respective park. Truly a worldwide experience! This ride has comprised two films over its lifetime, the first being Soarin' Over California which debuted with the ride's opening in 2001. Unlike its predecessor, Soarin' Around the World makes use of some CGI, particularly around the transitions between scenes, but I thought it was tastefully done. Soarin' Around the World was introduced in 2019 and has been swapped in and out with its counterpart a few times since then. You can find both films on YouTube and they are quite inspirational, but nothing beats doing the ride in person. Well, nothing except for actual hang gliding!

Yelp
This ride is a classic, though I wish it was California themed more often through the year! I can't wait for the food and wine festival to smell the best scent the ride has.

Yelp
10-1-2021 Has been one of our favorite rides at California Adventure. It's to the right once you enter the turnstiles. Now that you need a reservation to enter the park make sure your cell phone is charged up so you can show proof in order to receive your tickets and have your photo taken. Regardless if you have a wheelchair you proceed in the long regular line of walkers . There's so many motorized scooters now days. We used to see whole families enter a special mobility issues line ahead of others without any wait time. Does not apply at this particular ride. Once you make your way down a corridor you wait for your "flight." In all honesty the projections haven't seemed to change much after years but the exhilaration of your feet lifted several meters off the ground is subtly thrilling. You seem to soar over snow covered mountains, the Sydney Opera House, hover over a herd of rambling elephants and even smell roses as you pass over the Taj Mahal. Too bad they couldn't have the jasmine smell that we know as pikake here. That plant actually grows across the river there. The Eiffel Tower boldly blings. It's a nice ride to sit down, relax and enjoy. This is the first time I grabbed the bars when the ride dipped hoping my bod didn't slide off the ride with a thud. Must be an age thing but still super dooper enjoyable and worth the wait to ride.

Yelp
Soarin' Around the World will always have a special place in my heart. My mom passed away earlier this year and this was her favorite ride. She started my obsession with all things Disney, DIsneyland and Disney World so this being her favorite ride was high praise! And I personally still love Soarin' but after being open for 20 years I think it needs a little sprucing up. Don't get me wrong, they've updated and refurbished the ride over the years, but something is now feeling a bit 'old' about it. Come on Imaginears at Disney, think of something cool my pea brain can't imagine! :P Even after being on Soarin' a million times though, I still get an adrenaline rush when I raise up in the air. Feeling like you're gliding in the air for just under 5 minutes is such a fun experience. I prefer the first row so I don't have any feet dangling down above me. It's fun feeling like you're flying through the air and love how they pump in smells and wind. That definitely adds to the experience! Napa and the Taj Mahal are highlights for me to soar over. Waits can get long for Soarin' but they are still usually less than Spider-Man, Guardians, & Toy Story...usually on par with Incredicoaster.

Yelp
This ride was fabulous it gets you all nervous and moments where your stomach drops because you think something is coming at you or that your going to hit something. The thing I loved the most about this ride is that there are scents that are released in different clips that you spit through. Like fresh cut grass smell when you see the elephants traveling, or the smell of Jasmin when you go through India ect. The rides was absolutely amazing even more with that scent sensory that is added.
google avatar

Lillian W.

Yelp
This ride mimics seated paragliding. Wind in your hair, smelling the scents of the world, and viewing some gorgeous scenery at an aerial view. Soarin' high above the most beautiful areas of the world. Pretty cool. You travel around the world. Visiting the polar Arctic and its wildlife, the African plains and getting up close and personal to a migrating elephant herd... smell the grass, the city lights of Paris, the beautiful ocean water of the Fiji islands and migrating whales... smell that ocean air, the Iguaza Falls bordering Argentina and Brazil, Sydney Australia harbor, the wondrous Great Wall of China, the Great pyramids of Egypt. the beautiful grounds of the Taj Mahal... smell the tide blooms of the gardens, the American Monument Valley, the forest hillside European castle that inspired Walt Disney, and several other places that I do not recall. The flight ends back at Disneyland with a bang of fireworks. The ride is in Grizzly Peak, California Adventure park. You have to be taller than 40 inches to ride. The queue brings you through the aviators wings of fame which have portraits and descriptions of famous American aviators and aeronautical engineers on the wall. Wright brothers, Lindbergh, Earhart, Jacqueline Cochran, Yeager, Howard Hughes, and Tuskegee airmen. There were so many photos that I didn't see them all the both times I rode this; the line went quick each time. Love the bit of history. After the Wings of Fame section, you and your group are funneled to one of two concourses, then through one of three gates: Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie. You will view a before flight video hosted by the actor, Patrick Walburton, as the flight host. You buckle in like in an airplane seat. For little ones, there is a middle loop similar to a car seat that you need to use. The loop is on all the seats. The attendants come by to check the buckles and provide assistance. Place your bags in the cargo holder under your seat. Once the ride starts, a canopy is lowered over the row of seats. A cantilever maneuvers the row up off the ground and into a concave viewing screen.

Yelp
This is always a refreshing ride! It's fun to soar across the world and see some of the major sceneries from other countries. I also like the extra touch of scent in some of the different locations. It'll possibly give you some wanderlust if you go on the ride! Though the nostalgia in me kind of misses the original California soaring more.
google avatar

Yelp
I remember the time, when I first flew from soarin over California as Ben and I were kids with our dad 20 years ago. Also, I did enjoy soarin around the world last year and over California yesterday as we only knew how they kept the original soarin over California on the beginning of March until the late April from foods and wine festival every year. I have a good time to ride with my brother and Simoanne to soarin over California as young adults and to see Patrick Warburton as the flight captain. Hopefully, I'll be riding on the original or refurbished ride again as well as it's a good time to visit Disneyland and Disney California adventure park in the early months from February to May from less crowded people.

Yelp
The oft-heard hype of Soarin' throughout the years made me expect more. Located due right upon entering Disney's California Adventure, Soarin' Over California was one of the premier rides upon the Grand Opening of the park. People would rave about the citrus smell when gliding over CA's orange groves. Unsure as to when the ride was upgraded to Soarin' Around the World, I rode the ride for the first time, and was mildly amused. Travelling through various landscapes & landmarks (The Great Wall of China, the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal, etc.), I managed to pick up a floral aroma when gliding through Polynesian islands. Didn't pick up any others (hope I'm not sick). Gusts of wind would periodically blow through, giving the sensation of flying. In my opinion, the visuals could use a serious update. With 4K HD everything, the average visitor has a more immersive display on their wireless phones. Plus, some water misters during oceanic environments would've enhanced the atmosphere, as well. Soarin' Around the World is not a bad ride, at all. However, from my experience, it was a so-so ride that isn't worth a long wait time in the queue. On a hot, sunny summer day, this would be a great 1-2 punch to cool off, with Grizzly River Run, nearby.

Yelp
I am glad I went on the Disneyland version of Soarin' but I was not as impressed as I though I would be. Plus, it was not as good as I remember from being at EPCOT. We went on the Florida version many years ago. I loved it. They had a really great queue with interactive tasks to do, like bouncing a virtual ball around a good with fun colors and music. That did not exist here. I am not sure if it ever did, but there was really nothing to see in line. I also remember the ride feeling faster, and having more movement. This could be because since then I have been on more thrill rides that have increased speed over the years, the one in Florida feels faster, or this is just different. The tape was also very choppy. You are in one area and feel like you are starting to move fast, then it changes reels and you are somewhere else, thus you loose the momentum of speed. But the thing that really bugged me and gave this ride a lower rating was the dangling feet in my field of vision. I do not remember seeing feet the last time. Now it has been awhile, but they need to separate the leveling a bit more, because the illusion is broken when all you see is legs in front of you. It was not your typical Disney level technology and magic. Perhaps the ride is getting dated, many others seem to have more state of the art technology. Not sure I would waste my time on this one again unless I was nearby and the line was short.

Yelp
This is such a fun ride that brings you to many great global destinations around the world, like The Great Wall of China and Fiji. Truly a magical experience!

Yelp
Don't go on this ride if you are afraid of heights-- otherwise, it's a great ride and mimics paragliding as the other reviews say. Imagine a huge move theatre but instead of seats is a ride with 4 rows per "vehicle" We were lucky to be put in Row 1 so you are in the very front. Such a fun feeling with your legs and feet dangling freely (I even saw children with their shoes and socks off lol). We waited in the regular line on a Friday afternoon in April 2022 and it was over 60 mins. I didn't expect the sensory scents to be emitted during the ride which was such a cool plus. I would recommend people of all ages to not miss this ride

Yelp
Soarin' Around the World is a ride located in Disney's California Adventure. Disney World also has Soarin' Around the World, located in Epcot. Soarin' Around the World is located right at the entrance of Disney's California Adventure within Grizzly Peak. There is a height restriction, requiring 40 inches to ride. The wait time can vary on peak days from 20 minutes to 60 minutes. If it's your first time at Disney's California Adventure, this is a ride you can't miss! It's quite unique. The wait queue is amazing. It features articles on famous aviators such as Earhart, Lindbergh, and much more! It's a flight simulator that lifts you above the ground and has you soar over famous spots across the world. It's a giant screen and you feel like you're actually passing through areas such as the Taj Mahal, Polar Arctic, Sydney Australia, and the Eiffel Tower. Towards the end, you'll see Disneyland, Tinkerbell and the fireworks! It's absolutely beautiful! If you get motion sickness easily though, I'd highly recommend against it. There is a fast pass for this ride, or soon to be Disney Genie, available.

Yelp
Excellent choice when looking for a way to escape the SoCal heat when at California Adventures! I did miss the classic Soarin' Over California to which the park is named after, but that may just be my Cali pride talking. Soarin' Around the World is tough since there are so many wonders of the world you can visit & feature, but overall thought they did a solid job showcasing everything Earth has to offer!

Yelp
This is a ride in the California Adventure Park that, in my humble opinion, should not be missed! And also a ride that is deserving of a FastPass purchase, if you can afford it! The visuals are so clear and stunning, you'll have to keep looking around so that no detail is missed. The music background exactly matches flying about the scenery. The flight dynamics you feel while sitting on the chair are so smooth. And even the fragrance is an experience like no other! Just imagine flying through the African Savannah, diving over a herd of elephants, and at the same time, smelling cut grass! Just like being there! At the end of the ride, there's always the wish that somehow the ride was a little longer. And as you walk out of the building, you have this feeling of wonder, a good feeling... happiness of having experienced such a wonderful ride!

Yelp
Probably one of the best rides in Disney California Adventure. Lines are long, but with the amount of seating per ride, line goes quickly, would still recommend a fast pass. Soaring is a gentle video that has smells of the the location, most popular sights of the world and sensation of flying over peaks while soaring down through rivers and valleys. Must do ride!

Yelp
Soarin' Around the World is an IMAX ride experience that I've never come across before..definitely a fan for life.. Soarin Logistics - If you can fast pass Soarin, or any other ride, please do so. We actually waited in the standby line as it was early and this was our first ride and we waited 25 minutes. Once you're inside the "hangar" there's some great photos and summaries of famous airplanes throughout time. When you get to the ride, you strap yourself into the ride which has Three (3) rows of eight (people). If you can, try and get into row #2 as it has the best overall view, IMO. Soarin Flying simulation - Your seat is lifted up into the air to get this full view of this massive Imax movie screen. You travel through famous landmarks around the world and they even pump smell into the air to further stimulate your senses for the ride for particular landmarks. The whole experience really fools your senses and I really felt like I was "Soarin" The whole ride is just under 5 minutes but the design makes the experience definitely worth the experience. Soarin is a must ride every time I'm in California Adventure. See you there! =)

Yelp
I've been on both, Soarin' Around California and Soarin' Around the World and this is great. It is definitely a must ride for all ages, especially if it's your first time at the park. This is one of those rides where it's worth whatever wait it is. However, if it's over an hour and a half, I'd recommend getting a fastpass instead to come back later. Make sure you smell the oranges!

Yelp
Soarin' Around the World (Disney California Adventure) Soarin' is still my favorite ride in Disney's California Adventure and I'm not alone on this. Soarin' has an overall review rating of 4.5 stars on Yelp. The first time I rode Soarin' was at Orlando's Disney World in 1998 and I didn't know what to expect. I left Soarin' amazed with the technology and realness. Therefore, I don't want to give too many details about the ride on this review. If you meet the physical requirements to ride Soarin', do it. This ride is still as good as it was back in 1998. Easy 5-Stars!!

Yelp
What an incredible experience, imagine getting on a plane and tracking around the world in just a few minutes! Well this is how you can do it ! Soaring over the world is such a fun ride for both kids and parents alike. It's an immersive experience that takes you on a plane ride over the world and it triggers all your senses sight smell sound. This ride is an innovative creation that blows my mind every time I ride it.

Yelp
Enjoyable attraction Located in Grizzly Peak inside Disney California Adventure this was an indoor dark flight motion simulator attraction that takes flight. We were soaring and swooping over famous landmarks worldwide on a huge IMAX screen including (and not necessarily in this order) Switzerland's Matterhorn, the Arctic Ocean with a leaping whale, Egyptian pyramids, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, Germany's Neuschwanstein castle, a herd of African elephants, India's Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, hot air balloons in Monument Valley on the Arizona-Utah border, outrigger boats off Fiji, the Iguazu waterfalls on the Argentina-Brazil border and France's Eiffel Tower. It concludes with nighttime fireworks over at Disneyland. Did you smell that?? Artificial scent effects include grass over Africa, an ocean breeze over the South Pacific and roses over India. I can't remember the others. Yes, there is a height requirement of at least 40" to be able to board this ride. We had fun guessing what state or country our flight simulation took us to. Only the obvious once were the only ones we guessed correctly like the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Taj Mahal, and the Great Wall of China. Review #0777

Yelp
I love Soarin' over California a bit more but Soarin' around the World still deserves 5 stars! If you want the 'top' row you're waiting for the "Row 1" when boarding. If you're next to someone it's quite tight in terms of space so just keep in mind. The wait can be deceiving because once you're in the actual building there are two sides and they could both be full and busy. Keep your senses open and look out for the 'smells' to soak in during the ride.

Yelp
Soarin' could be my favorite ride of the park. The idea of paragliding and enjoying the views of various wonders of the world is already something of a rarity in terms of theme park rides. The main focus isn't thrill or scare but the genuine awe-inspiring sentiment deriving transporting you into a different world--or different parts of the world. That's not to say there is no excitement. For any first-timer, you'd wonder how they achieve such feat, and the initial take-off moment will usually get them. Though you're not technically in a plane, it does feel very much like a take-off, and the momentum of the machinery and ride system lifting you off the ground and into midair will always be something worth talking about after. The ride, essentially a motion simulation coupled with a curved projection screen, works well, though anyone in the 2nd and 3rd row WILL BE seeing dangling feet. It's all part of the experience. Embrace it. (It isn't a huge deal.) Light spoiler: The various scents emitted from certain scenes are my favorite moments. And they've fixed the scent machines from its "Around California" days because I was able to smell 3 very distinct aromas and I hope you can, too! (The orange smell from the California segment is gone, as mentioned, but I don't truly mind because back then, every single scent smelled like orange no matter what scene we were seeing. That was illogical. Now the things you smell actually match the things you see.) It was my partner's first time riding Soarin', and I took this opportunity to hold his hands all through the ride. The closeness between our palms and the pleasant views in front of our eyes made this very date-like, rendering in some memories I would cherish for years to come, if not forever. One major down side is, the video quality absolute sh*t by today's standard. When Soarin' got converted from "Around California" to "Around The World", didn't it receive a HD upgrade? Whatever that was, isn't aging well. My partner was very puzzled why the visuals fell short so hard in 2021. And yet, if you visit DCA and pass on this iconic attraction, you're missing out and will be kicking your butt back home. So don't let this happen. (For completion's sake, I should mention that I rode this during COVID restriction times at the end of May, and all the queuing mostly happened outdoor. Once inside, I was directed to my seat almost right away. My social bubble (of 2) also got our own row. There was no intro/safety video. Some of the "story" was omitted to comply with safety precautions, though for Soarin', this isn't a big issue, and should not abate your enjoyment.)

Yelp
I'm probably one of the few who actually misses when this flight simulator ride was called Soarin' Over California. I even remember buying a Disney trading pin personalized name tag of this ride which was a while ago back in 2010 or 2011. Those early bird days of California Adventure... Paradise Pier, the unforgettable haunted hotel elevator ride, Mulholland Madness, California Screamin' coaster... ah good times! Sure, there are atmospheric scents included still: fresh mowed grass, rose petals, dirt road dusty smell... but honestly those scents aren't as memorable as the potent, aromatic citrus groves wafting in a fresh, intoxicating breeze. It's unfathomable to me that they would change the original title of this ride with the name CALIFORNIA, which clearly is indicative of the theme park name, almost a namesake in a way. So much for theme park cohesiveness especially in regards to the title of this landscape! I understand they wanted to have a more inclusive, diverse theme of including different, scenic views of the world, but really don't break what isn't a broken idea to begin with. They should've just kept the California theme because it would've been a signature ride that you would only find at Disney's companion theme park and no where else, not even Disney World. Rating only 2 stars because it's at least a half decent leisure ride that's a nice respite from standing in line and walking a lot. Just don't expect a thrillingly exciting ride, expect to drift off for a nap though lol. Lastly, Soarin' Around the World is truthfully one of those rides that's conveniently there to pass the time while you wait on Fast Pass return times.

Yelp
Love this ride. It's my favorite ride to go on at Disney California Adventure. The line can be long, but it's soooo worth it. Every time I go on Soarin it inspires me to travel everywhere. From Paris to Fiji to Tanzania...the travel bug has bitten. Enjoy!

Yelp
Excellent visual spectacle with the added sense of smells to elevate the immersive experience. The colors are rich and contrast is full of detail. Only thing it can benefit from is a higher frame rate to reduce some of the motion blur.
