Soba Tajima

"The allure of Soba Tajima lies in its rich selection of à la carte items. The chef puts special effort into the vegetable dishes. Set menus allow diners to choose the dishes they like, and thoughtfully, you can also adjust their number. Diners can also order more helpings of the soba that ends the meal. And of course, orders for just a plate of soba are cheerfully accepted. Both the standard snacks for a soba shop, and sake offerings that change with the season, are worth anticipating." - Michelin Inspector

This little location is really beautiful and the quality of the soba is just as wonderful. My Japanese friend took me here because it’s her favourite soba place in Tokyo, and I can totally see why. The noodles are carefully and expertly made and the selection of items to form your courses is also so thoughtfully created. The sesame tofu was the best I’ve had and the Japanese eggplant was truly excellent. They prepared dipping sauces for the cold soba for me without dashi as I am vegan and were very helpful in guiding me on what I could or couldn’t order. Will definitely be back!

Simple but great soba near Hiro—o. The staff was so attentive and we enjoyed a lot this dinner. The soba with duck is delicious and their attention to detail is very special. Hope we can come back soon!

Best soba in the area. Family run shop with great handmade soba. Classic side dishes are also available but definitely look at their specials menu for seasonal dishes. More of a neighborhood spot for the locals but blows away the overhyped ‘famous Michelin’ spot a few blocks away.

Soba Tajima. High level hand made soba noodles, slightly sweet soba sauce is amazing. Good snacks for Japanese sake. Impressive Sashimi and Tempura. Points reflect the aforementioned. The Japanese omlette and other grilled dishes, goma dofu were a bit closer to average. If I only had these and soba noodles, I would give a four star.

Went there because we saw the good reviews, a lot of locals are going there but as someone who is a tourist, that was my first time experiencing somehow an unfriendly atmosphere. We didn’t speak japanese but tried our best to communicate with google translator. Once we sat down we were ignored for a long time. No menu not even served with tea while other tables that went in (who were locals) were served right away. The waiters that served us were somewhat annoyed with us even though we didn’t said anything or did anything to make them feel that way. The food was okay, the portion was surprisingly quite small. I was really sad experiencing such an unpleasant service :(

This place is exquisite Soba Cuisine. Sashimi is marinated with kelp, and so special. Start with Japanese omelette and grilled duck was so juicy. You also should try delicious Tempura before Soba. You must not be full, you have to finish with Soba. Mori Soba can enjoy the flavour of Soba.

Went there for lunch on a Saturday around 1:30. I had a dashimaki tamago and tenpura Morisoba. OMG they were both SO good. Dashimaki was fluffy and flavorful and soba noodles were so thin it was def one of the best I’ve had. Perfect meal on a hot summer day

Amazing Soba, really nice consistency. Not too soft and their lunch combo we had today is absolutely worth it!
