My family and I went to SoBe for my Uncle’s Birthday and it was absolutely wonderful. The inside is a vibe and the service was overall positive. They waited for our whole party to arrive before taking our food orders which was considerate. Some examples of what was ordered: 𝑀𝒶𝓇𝓎𝓁𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝐵𝓁𝓊𝑒 𝒞𝓇𝒶𝒷 𝒞𝒶𝓀𝑒 𝒯𝓇𝒾𝑜 - very delicious, wish they were bigger 𝐹𝓇𝒾𝑒𝒹 𝒞𝒶𝓉𝒻𝒾𝓈𝒽 𝐹𝒾𝓃𝑔𝑒𝓇𝓈 - least flavorful, especially coming from the east coast 𝒮𝓉𝒾𝒸𝓀𝓎 𝒜𝓈𝒾𝒶𝓃 𝒫𝑜𝓇𝓀 𝑅𝒾𝒷𝓈 - hands down the best app ordered, fall off the bone and yummy sauce 𝒮𝑜𝐵𝑒 𝒜𝓁𝒻𝓇𝑒𝒹𝑜 𝒫𝒶𝓈𝓉𝒶 - salmon wasn’t overcooked, very delicious pasta, filling main course If you’re ever in the area, I’d definitely say experience SoBe!

This is such a great place to have a birthday dinner. The management team was very accommodating to our set up 30 min prior and provided pre-printed menu (i would recommend they take the price off because since it's one check/bill, we added tax+ gratuity to the cost which was higher then the advertised $55 on the paper). We opt'd for name seating cards as people came in different times and we wanted to put certain groups of friends together. The food was good -- everyone loved their menu selection (with exception to those who had the salmon). The best part of the venue was the live 🎶 band, which upgraded the birthday celebration vibe and gave birthday gift shout-outs to the birthday girl from time to time.

I decided to check out this place because I had heard good things about it. However, the moment I walked through the door, I was charged a $30 cover fee per person, which I accepted because I was interested in trying it out. As soon as I entered, I encountered two hostesses at the front who had a terrible attitude. I’m not sure if they were having a bad day, but it was off-putting. I had to step outside, because I forgot my card, and I was informed that they don’t accept Apple Pay. There’s was a strict no re-entry policy fee to come back in Once I sat down at my table, the server was okay, but seemed unfamiliar with the menu. So I just decided to order a crab sandwich, but unfortunately, the bun came out burnt. To make matters worse, security personnel wearing kitchen gloves walked around my table repeatedly—about twelve times in total. Also, there were numerous extra fees that I didn't anticipate. Please see the photos for more details. , I will not be returning to this place. No way.

SoBe Restaurant & Lounge was a huge disappointment! We had my sister's 50th birthday brunch there and the staff arrived so late at 11am. Our reservation was at 11:30am and the staff was not prepared. It wasn't even crowded but our waitress was in the kitchen to help cook alongside the chef, for the guests who placed their orders and were seated. The restaurant also discontinued bottomless brunch, so be prepared to pay a la carte. When we were seated, they provided plastic cups at our table and other guests received glasses of water. We had to wait an hour for drinks, one of the drink glasses had lipstick on it so it wasn't clean. Just before we decided to just leave and go somewhere else they brought out our food. The food was okay. My sister has an allergy to onions so they had some on her plate and the chef came out and said that must have fell on by mistake. They didn't offer to make her another meal. Getting the check was a pain, we had to get up and hunt down our waitress for condiments, the bill, and a discount for the long wait. This was our first and last time coming. We won't be coming back. There are better establishments that offer better service and better food for less money. Don't waste your money at SoBe.

I brought my mom and sister up to Sobe for brunch a few Sundays ago. The staff was very attentive. The space was clean and lively and the manager came to greet the table when service was interrupted for a staff change . The food was pretty good the the atmosphere was good vibes ! The DJ was doing his thing ! They should definitely consider promoting a Subday brunch

Food was ok. I ordered the nachos and jerk wings. Wings were too saucy and the nachos had melted cheese that wasn't good. The nachos would have been better with shredded cheese melted on instead. I got 3 green tea shots, they were good. The band playing that night was really good. Great vibe and grown people.

A change of pace from dining in DC. Went here yesterday evening. I did see lots of reviews about poor service, but the experience I had with our server Justice was great. She was sweet, attentive and professional. There was a DJ that gave us everything from old school R&B, hip hop a little trap music and some Go-go. I had the Braised Oxtails which came with canbage, plantains and rice beans. The oxtails were flavorful and fell off the bone. Overall, if you're looking for a local spot for vibes in PG county for the grown folk, this could be it.

I emailed about my experience. Let's just say it wasn't good. Every day is not going to be perfect. However, they reached out to make it right. Which is very unusual in our community. What I love is that as a black-owned business, they stood in business and without any drama. I would recommend them to others. And get the French toast it's the best!

Yelp
Ok, seconder timer here, and I had have to update... The vibes, lighting, and entertainment statement still stands. I went this night in particular for my best friends birthday and the girllllls had a ball! Their calamari was delicious, but the cajun chicken pasta... lacked the cajun lol. To be more honest, it was better the next day heated up an adding your own kick at home. But such a vibe nonetheless! Pictured within my review are pictures of the other girls meals including catfish, their huge Caesar salad, and fried rice which I tried and enjoyed! Now trying their menu more than once, I really enjoyed their pasta and catfish.... but, let's get into this liquor now. As mentioned before, this outing was for my best friends birthday, so drinks were flowing. And to my surprise, the bill comes and 4 shots of Don Julio Reposado was $160. Not sure about you, but I know I could've walked 0.2miles away and gotten two BOTTLES for that price that that 4 shots..... ON TOP OF THAT, the bill includes an automatic 18% gratuity without splitting multiple checks, so also keep that in mind. Now that I've been to Sobe more than once, I think I can solidify that Sobe is a good place for food and entertainment but if you want to drink, pregame before you come. : )

Yelp
Sunday brunch at SoBe was surprisingly great! I loved the location, plenty of parking and inside was very spacious. Sunday there was not a lot of ppl and they definitely missed out on all you can eat buffet and bottomless mimosas! :-) I started with the eggs, bacon and French toast. Definitely was a little disappointed in the powder eggs. My second AND third round I opted for the macaroni & cheese and baked salmon, which was very good. I am planning my return for the buffet and can't wait! The service was a bit slow but that is to be expected since this was an all you can eat and drink situation. Overall I had a great experience and look forward to returning.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely delicious. I've never been disappointed. The pasta and oxtails were amazing. The Brussel sprouts are a must have. The catfish is always fresh and crispy. The star island punch was a banger (gotta like alcohol though). The service started out slow but she eventually picked it up & handled business. Vybe was there performing and you know they are a whole vibe by themselves. Great place for live music and dancing.

Yelp
SoBe - I have to give them credit, the inside is beautiful. Who doesn't like live music with dinner? Let's get into the food! Appetizer: Shrimp was delicious, the cabbage garnish was perfect! Kudos to the chef for that TOUCH! I got the Salmon. The salad was perfect! It was dressed with just the right amount of dressing! Rice was good! Salmon was good, it was cooked well well and a little dry but overall good! No complaints honestly. My date got the Lobster and he shared! It was yummy! Drinks were delicious! Coconut Ciroc drink was perfect! Coming back the second or fourth Friday! lol See you soon!

Yelp
Today was my Founders Day (Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha) and my line sisters and I choose Sobe because the vibes were always great when we were in college and it was very nostalgic for us. Food is usually on point and drinks are good. This wasn't unlike the usual. However, Sobe has live music and they charge for that experience (per usual and to be expected in our community) however Sobe charges $20 for women & $30 for men at 7PM until close because you get a live band. But if the band doesn't start playing until 9PM what am I paying for?? This is the thing that frustrates me about our community we love to take advantage.. I asked to speak to the manager just to ask about why they would charge money for a service patrons were not receiving. I was told by my server who was immediately frustrated with me after asking for a manager (even though I reassured her that I was not trying to be difficult or ask for a refund or complain) I simply wanted to understand what I was paying for. In this economy I don't see why I should have to shell out money for absolutely nothing. I was coming out with my line sisters and we always order food and lots of drinks and we tip well. I make sure of it because I've worked in the industry for a while and I think it's important to tip accordingly! Anywho I asked to speak to the owner or the restaurant and the server told me "actually the owner is here but he won't come out.." I looked at her with a bit of curiosity. She said no he won't. I said ok no problem would you mind if I speak to the manager? She said no problem and got the manager. The manager came over and let me know politely it's above her and she can't do anything about it but she does understand. I asked her if if I could speak to the owner about it and she told me the owner wasn't here. (A clear lie) because then we got interrupted by one of the ppl at my table. When she was done handling that she must've forgotten she told me the owner wasn't in because I then said "so can you please ask the owner if he will come out" and she said "one sec I will ask." Now whether the owner was there or not. You mislead me and lied. Never to return with the manager.... prince George's county restaurants really need to check their quality of service! This is exactly why the place was dead! Great music, good food great drinks....TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! and that exactly why SOME are stuck wondering why they can't break through to the next plateau. The devil is in the details. All in all, I didn't want my money back I just wanted to know what I was paying for at 7:08PM on a Wednesday when the Band that I was supposedly paying for didn't start playing until 9:03PM...

Yelp
This was my first time visiting and it was very packed that night. We were able to be seated when we arrived and the ambiance was really cute inside. If a band is playing, you have to arrive before 7pm to avoid a cover charge. The food was ok. The wings were overcooked and did not have a lot of sauce. The Brussels sprouts were great!! my brother had the calamari and said it was really tasty. The bar stayed packed and the drinks were pretty good. I would go back to try an actual meal vs appetizers.

Aleka P.

Yelp
Food was great! I had the fried chicken, mac and cheese, and greens. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The service wasn't that great. We were seated by the host in the bar area then later moved because that table was reserved. The server took a while to greet us and bring items over. My margarita was just ok, nothing to brag about. The music was too loud, you couldn't hear the people at your table talk! I would only go back for that meal!

Vivian J.

Yelp
The Ambience is nice but the live music draws you into the place. I love the vibe and the bands they feature there. The bar service is better if you are sitting at the bar. If not, the wait line for the bar can take some time. I suggest you get there early to get a seat. The food is Delicious! We enjoy their Jamaican Jerk Chicken, SoBe Crispy Shrimp (my favorite), Crab cakes, and Lobster Mac & Cheese (Scrumptious). While the service is extremely slow on the dining room side, it is worth the wait. With that said, let's talk about the service. The bartenders are on point. However, the dining room side seems chaotic with so many people bunched up in that space and not enough servers. They are understaffed. We had to run down our waiter because he hardly came back to the table. While I recommend this spot for the food and music, please be patient because the service leaves a lot to be desired!

Yelp
I just went to Sobe's on 2/7. Now, I don't mind paying a cover charge ($30 pp) for live music, but we had a reservation for dinner at 6:45PM. The dining room side of the house was completely empty. The band doesn't start until 9:00PM, and we still have to pay the cover charge? And can you please train (or remind) your hostess staff on the proper way to greet patrons? Like, look up from your device, stand or sit up straight, look halfway enthusiastic to be there and crack half a smile. These factors motivated my party to dine elsewhere and cancel the reservation so that I would get charged a fee ($20) for a no show. Like what is going on here?

Quenterra C.

Yelp
The hookah here is nice! You are required to smoke hookah outside! Karaoke night is a vibe! The drinks are good as well.

Verna W.

Yelp
Ambiance and service was great, the DJ played good music, but I'll ONLY come back for happy hour food and drinks .. Seeing my flatter than a pancake crab cake that was $30, I'll never order it again. But overall chill spot.

Kristen M.

Yelp
I was here for a pre-fix dinner last week. There were 20 of us and we were all over the place but our server Javon was outstanding. He was so attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. I ordered the fried chicken with Mac & greens. The chicken looked like pork chops but it was def a chicken breast. It was moist but the breading was too salty. The Mac was ok. I didn't taste the greens but others at the table seemed to like them. The music was bomb and the bartender was tending ok!! They gota do better with that cake selection though. That lemon cake was HARD. So was the chocolate.

Yelp
Had the worst experience ever as a customer. Recently went for a friend's Birthday Brunch and ended up staying for dinner. My entire duration while patronizing this establishment I spent about $300. My experience entailed a hostess opening a bathroom stall while I was using it, without knocking. Mind you, the doors to the bathroom stalls need to be fixed immediately as they don't lock properly. Once I immediately pulled the bathroom door closed, I heard her ask from the other side about a phone. Once I was done, I was met by her as the door was opening and she again was asking if her phone was in the stall, I then explained to her that there was no phone in this stall before I used it (even looking around to see if there was a phone on the ground). Once back at my table, I was approached by the Security Guard. He then also asked me if I found a phone in the bathroom stall, and again, I told him, no. Maybe about an hour later, the Security Guard again approaches our table stating that she found her phone supposedly in the same stall I had used. Then tells us that Management ran the cameras back and saw one of my friends coming out of the bathroom suggesting that we put the phone back. And the kicker is my friend that they claim they saw coming out of the bathroom, never once used the bathroom. We were then asked to leave by the Security Guard, stating it was per Managements direction. In the end we left, however I will never ever be going back to this place and I will be telling all of my friends too..!! You just don't treat people that way, especially people of color who are supporting a Black Owned Business. Couldn't give 0 stars btw..!

Yelp
First off the information on the website was different than what was explained at the restaurant. This was the Mother's Day Brunch on Mother's Day. 1. On the website it said $25 for unlimited mimosas, but it was $30 and everyone at the table had to purchase it. 2. The website said gratuity was automatically added to parties of 6 or more, but it was actually all checks. 3. The service was terrible, we had to find our waitress and ask for plates and water. 4. The staff arrived at 11am, which was the same time as our reservations and had to wait almost 30 mins to be seated. 5.The servers did not speak English and could not answer any questions regarding the food, nor did they have signs out telling you what you were eating. 6. You get two hours to eat your meal, but it took 30 mins to be seated and the DJ got on the mic at 12:30 and gave the last call for the buffet. 7. The music was so loud you couldn't hear your conversation at the table. This was terrible especially on Mother's Day, I do not recommend at all.

Kassie E.

Yelp
I came with my husband, Michael who shared the same experience I did for the owner's birthday a few years ago. Unfortunately my review was removed. But I want to make sure my previous 4 start remove doesnt remain as my last experience. We waited 4 hours for our food and check to come and ended up having to walk out without paying because it took nearly 2.5 hrs for our check to come and it was supposedly still on its way by 1am after arriving at 8pm for dinner. Service has declined significantly since I first patroned nearly 8 years ago. I wont be back till I receive a personal apology,

Giselle H.

Yelp
Great vibes, live band ambience is nice and staff is friendly,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.......................

Tamara S.

Yelp
The food is always great. KUDOS to the chefs. However, service is not good, and the price is crazy. I got 2 drinks, why are you charging the same for smaller glasses? We continue to patronize this place cause their aren't many places to go. Sad, we are subjective to this type of treatment.

Necola S.

Yelp
$30!! Let me spell it now, THIRTY DOLLARS is what I paid to enter the RESTAURANT @6:15 on Friday evening. I was meeting a group of women there for dinner, and was told the $30 was a COVER CHARGE because they were having a band. Ordinarily I would've left, because I was going to spend money at the restaurant, not to hear the band. But, since the group I was a part of agreed to meet there, I paid my $30 and went in. I will say, the food was delicious. I got the wings and a caesar salad, but the service was painfully slow. It took 30 minutes to order and another 30 minutes to get my food. All the while, a full hour after I paid $30 for the band, the band still hadn't set up, weren't even in place. Then to add insult to injury, the manager (young Black woman, with waist-long hair) came to tell us that we would have to leave at 7:30pm because they had reservations coming. Remember I said, I didn't get my food until 7:15pm, an hour after arriving. When I left, at 8:00pm (because it took about 20 minutes to pay our $450 bill) the band that I paid $30 to hear, was still not on. Why they start requiring a cover charge @6pm for a band that doesn't start playing until 8:30pm is wild, disrespectful and greedy! This is no way to treat paying customers. This was THE LAST TIME I will patronize this establishment. DO BETTER SOBE!

Andrew P.

Yelp
Just based on drinks, service and the environment, this place is solid!! It's been around forever too. From the outside it really doesn't look like much... Just a giant building. But when you go inside, surprise -- the place looks quite classy! I have been for a handful of random occasions, such as catching up with a friend and a spontaneous karaoke night. From what I can tell, how crowded it gets really just depends on the night, I've seen both extremes. I typically sit at the bar, and I've been lucky to never have an issue grabbing the bartender, even when it gets packed. The happy hour is from Tuesday to Friday, 4-7... Sometimes, such as during that special karaoke, they had specials way after though. It's not the cheapest one... Beer is $5 and wine and cocktails are $8+. They're good though! The crowd is older, which fits the vibe of the spot. But if you're in the neighborhood, check it out -- I'll have to update when I finally have food.

Cierra C.

Yelp
One tip I can give to any restaurant is to stop trying to nickel and dime your customers! You will get your money in the end if you provide the experience they seek. - happy hour only on the bar side, but the tables on the bar side are $100 min per person- high tops, & $300 per person couches. Entire other half of the restaurant is empty.... You cant order any specials from that side. Happy hour 4-7 but cover charge starts at 6 + 2 hour likit on the table. It just doesn't make sense AT ALL.

Malikah M.

Yelp
Haven't been to this restaurant in a few years, but decided to check them out for brunch and was not disappointed. They opened up exactly at 11 and it wasn't crowded at all. We sat out the bar and listen to slow jams and talked for hours. The bartender was a lot of fun, and was very attentive to our table. The food was excellent, and they provided large portions. I'll definitely come back for brunch again because the ambience was perfect. Very modern and chill.

Zipporah E.

Yelp
Food and drinks were good, liked the view of the place on first visit. Second visit not so nice, cook was unavailable, had to wait for a long time for order to be taken and the bartender act like we were bothering her for service, therefore we left and went elsewhere.

Jake J.

Yelp
Walked in with my girl and was confronted with an entry fee by 2 ladies and a security guard blocking entry. "$20 each to get in" one of the women bellowed. "Its because of a live band that is performing" the other woman said. Honestly I was very surprised and was going to walk out but my lady was talking about this place for days and how good the food was so i paid the $40 dollars and we went in. As we were seated I noticed the music was extremely loud to the point where we couldnt even hear each other when we were talking. Also I want to point out that after being seated for about 10 minutes we noticed there wasnt even a live band at all. They were playing music from a stereo system. This was my first time being here and I remember sitting at the table wondering how they could charge an entree fee for a live band but there blasting recorded music from the speakers. My waiter was ok nothing really stood out with her we didnt see her all that much. She took our order, didnt come back until it was ready, and then presented the check when we were done. She did her job so im not really complaining about her. The food itself was actually good and is the sole reason why i gave a second star. Personally I wont be back though.

Deanna C.

Yelp
Please read and believe the reviews. This place has all of the makings of a great establishment. They have friendly and attentive waitstaff, a clean environment, and a great DJ. The one thing that holds this place back is the food. I hope that management sees this because the food is subpar. I had the wings and an order of plantains, and they were nothing to brag about, which is a shame. I'm rooting for this place, but they need a new chef.

Blaise S.

Yelp
Paint me unimpressed and disgusted. I tried real hard not to "talk to the manager" but I couldn't get over being called rude by the doorman that shared a $20 cover, for dinner. A cover for dinner? Where does that happen? The manager was not open to feedback and stotic. They really beleive they think are classy and offer a luxury experience in Gorgeous Prince George's, however, they do not. The waitress, Nia, was the sweetest in the midst of the ultimate sans customer service experience. 0 stars do not recommend. Oohhhhh the "entertainment" that the cover "covered" was over an hour late to start with their performance.

Michelle S.

Yelp
I have been coming to SoBe for years. On 23 August 2024, to my surprise there is a $30 cover charge Wednesday's and Friday's starting at 6pm. It's on the OpenTable but I have never read it because I'm so familiar with this place. I had out of town guests and raved about this place. So we paid $30 each (5 of us) at 7pm and it's 9:02 pm and the band is still not on. I'm so disappointed in SoBe's. I will NOT be coming back on these days. This was a sneaky move and definitely price gouging. The place is about 20% capacity of what it normally is. I'm so hurt. I hope they go back to the way it was.

Yelp
my husband and I are vegetarian we are from California. stop in just driving by. ALL OUR FOOD WAS WONDERFUL!!! Especially the grits.

Yelp
Sunday Brunch...,the worst I've ever had at any price. Food...yuk. Presentation...disappointing. Price...outrageous. Ambiance...well, 15 people dining on a lovely Sunday. 10 were in my party. Lesson: Never eat where others are not eating. Sierra, our server was attentive. Kudos to her. Never returning to SOBES.

Da'Shãna W.

Yelp
Ambiance: In the area visiting and from the outside it does not look like what you walk into . It is a BEAUTIFUL split lounge that has dining room seating on one side, and high top+ bar seating on the other with I believe hookah seating on the patio (it was covered for the winter and cozy). The ambiance is so beautiful and colorful. I went on a Sunday and it was not crazy or turnt up at all very chill with nice modern Rnb. Plenty of seating and even had low sitting booths in the bar side for a V.I.P feel. They even have a dedicated stage area for performers. (Yes it's. a huge building. Service: Greeters were kind and smiled, and we sat at the bar and the bartender was nice. I will say for it to be a bit on the empty side our food took a nice minute. My fiancé got his food roughly 45minites in and mine took almost an hour. The bartender said they were backed up, apologized and even comped us a mimosa (one had one but after 2 or 3 I can tell you'll have a good time waiting lol) Food: Fiancé got jerk wings that weren't too spicy at all, but my food....WORTH THE WAIT!!! I haven't had grits since a kid but I wanted to try something different and now they have a life long customer because this plate was heavenly!! The grits were so smooth and cheesy and paired with the seafood, I could've eaten this all day!! I wish they had a restaurant near me because I'd be there daily! Overall 8.5/10 for service speed and my grits platter alone was $55. But I understand due to the seafood.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday afternoon, at 1pm. My friend and I opt'd not to make a reservation in case either of us couldn't actually make it. You reserve online for $20. We were able to be seated immediately at the bar. There were plenty of available seats here. The dining area had quite a few patrons already seated, and the booth area along the bar area and tables between the bar and booths were half full. You have to scan the Menu using a QR Code. Since we sat at the bar, over time the service became slower, but our person was working hard to meet the needs of everyone at the bar and those ordering drinks elsewhere. Regular OJ Mimosa is $30 a carafe. If you want to get a flavor (like cranberry or pineapple) add an extra $5. Each carafe had about 6 glasses. Considering a regular glassed mimosa was almost $10 you def. get your monies worth We were excited to come here because a friend mentioned on Sunday's they have a life DJ that plays RnB and Old School Hip Hop music. I was under the impression music started around 1pm but the DJ didn't start his set until about 1:40PM. For the first hour or so, it was lovely old school RnB. Then over time the music changed to some dancehall and today's type of music. Still all a great vibe The bathroom was spacious and clean. I got the Fish and Grits ($18) So good! the grits had a slight gritty texture (which I love) and the fish was fried well! My friend enjoyed his dish, but I can't remember what he got lol The lights came on in the restaurant at 4:45PM because guess what- the restuarant closed at 5! We were just as shocked lol. Didn't check for a closing time, especially on a Sunday. We were expecting them to stay open for dinner past brunch so be aware if you come in a later time on a Sunday. Plenty of parking outfront and to the side of the restuarant.

Food was ok. Service good. Ambiance great. The live music - chef's kiss! My friends loved the jerk wings and pasta. Good for groups. Ample parking.

Yelp
One of the better customer service experiences I've had in a while. I attended for Sunday brunch about an hour after their opening. The host let us know right away that they were understaffed for the day and this was the beginning of various hosts/servers communicating with us during our dining experience. Our waitress took about 10 minutes before greeting us which didn't feel long at all with the heads up of the host. Unfortunately, we dined on a day that only one chef showed up for work. The DMV is serious about brunch so there were definitely several groups and small parties already waiting. But the servers that showed up that day were friendly, energetic and constantly kept us in the loop on the status of our meal. It was my first time here but I got the sense that the workers cared about the experience of the guests. Now, about the food! Baaaybe would you think I was born in South because I take my grits seriously. And Sobe's has the best seafood and grits in the area if you ask me and it's not what I ordered. I almost ate my partners plate and ordered one to-go for myself but we just didn't have the time to wait. It was delicious! My lobster omelette was good (not as much lobster as I expected) and the graham cracker french toast was yummy. I will be back for the seafood grits!

Yelp
Met a group of ladies for Karoke night and had a great time. The service was excellent and nice happy hour specials. Ambience was great and in between Karoke, DJ played some great music. Crowd was engaging and you did not need a partner to dance or have a good time.

Yelp

Yelp
$30 entrance fee is obsessive! One of the bartenders seemed overwhelmed and made the worse drink ever. I basically threw it away! Visiting this place once a year is enough for me

Yelp
Ok so I don't like buffets I don't do buffets! But me and the hubs went to Sobe after church and we did ....buffet. We were greeted immediately and very friendly. Informed we could order off the menu or the buffet. The gentlemen at the front showed us what the buffet looked like and it had plenty of options. Plus surprisingly it was pretty empty inside so we took our chances. Y'all it was so good! The eggs were egging, the bacon was baconing. The French taste was so good! They had two different versions of it. Im more of a sweet than savory girl. So I was happy with the syrup and French toast. I was hesitant about the fried chicken because I couldn't recognize which parts of the chicken were in that pan. But my greedy a$$ husband tried it and said it was good and it was. So I went and grab me a piece too. I'm from the south but their grits were creamy and good. The salmon was really good. Hubby said the shrimp were really good and pasta dish. We left completely satiated. Right down the street from church. We will be going back. 18% gratuity included. Price was $45 per person. They also had bottomless mimosas for $30 (we didn't try so I don't know).

Yelp
My first time here and it is a gorgeous place. They have a huge indoor seating and have outdoor seating as well. This place is very clean. The bathroom is clean and beautiful as well. I ordered two shots and my partner had tea. Our order came very quickly (we were the only people at the bar). We came on a Tuesday evening and it was very empty, but that's fine by me. I was told that there food is great! Service was great and I would come back again

Yelp
A change of pace from dining in DC. Went here yesterday evening. I did see lots of reviews about poor service, but the experience I had with our server Justice was great. She was sweet, attentive and professional. There was a DJ that gave us everything from old school R&B, hip hop a little trap music and some Go-go. I had the Braised Oxtails which came with canbage, plantains and rice beans. The oxtails were flavorful and fell off the bone. Overall, if you're looking for a local spot for vibes in PG county for the grown folk, this could be it.

Yelp
Sobe's is a pretty popular restaurant in the neighborhood and I have visited many times, but this is my first review.. They have great jazz nights, and I celebrated my birthday there as well. I was a little disappointed that their policy to make a two-person reservation is a $20 deposit per person! wow. Nevertheless, I did so and I had a lovely table, a great server but the restaurant was under-staffed - but not unusual for the times we live in. She was a great server, whose name escapes me. I ordered the fried chicken and French toast and yes, they nailed it! :). I believe I had a birthday cocktail, but probably only one because I was driving. The downside to the restaurant is their lack of attention to detail. After putting a deposit down, this was to be applied to the final bill. We had to remind the server of that because it was not done. As a result, we had an extra 25 minute wait to even leave the restaurant because of the credit needed to our payment after we paid our bill. Overall, I have attended for a birthday party, a brunch and an anniversary party, - All fun, and a nice clean venue both indoor and outdoor.

Yelp
Do not attend Sunday Brunch at this restaurant. It was NASTY!!! On Sunday I went with a group of 10 for brunch. First let me start off by saying, the room was empty. It was maybe 2-3 tables of 2 ppl in the entire restaurant. Then there was my party of 10. The service was terrible!! The server didn't want to bring our plates to start the buffet. That took about 30 min. Once we finally received our plate to begin eating, the waffles were hard, the eggs and were not edible, the bacon was undercooked and the list goes on. I asked the server if I could get the cook to make eggs because the eggs on the buffet were absolutely horrific. She then placed an order for eggs which was a $7 charge. Lol when i asked for the manager, another young girl tryna prove a point. Would not comp the eggs! I told her to eat them and she refused. Let me just say this... The entire buffet was absolutely nasty‼ We picked over all of the food...and the staff was rude and the server never used her voice. Never asked us if we needed anything, no nothing. I can not make this up! I will never eat here for brunch ever again. Fire the entire kitchen staff and restaurant manger. Always black establishments‼

Yelp
Great tapas. Enjoyable atmosphere. Fantastic location. Outdoor seating is phenomenal.

Yelp
Came here for the first time for a family gathering and had a blast. The drinks aren't the best and they probably need a new bartender but the food was delicious. The service is phenomenal but things do take some time to get to your table- understandable because of the pandemic. If you're ordering and hungry, order your drinks, appetizer, and entree all at the same time. My only dislike with Sobe was the music being so loud. Other then that, I had a great time. The atmosphere, food, and vibe will have us return.

Yelp
Well I guess they should have sent a poet. I don't think I can really eloquently express how great these oxtails are...Melt in your mouth deliciousness. Hennessy Side Car was epic, made with Peach Schnapps and Pineapple . Need a six star . Oh yeah the Shrimp tacos were fire according to my wife.

Yelp
I had a staycation and selected this restaurant for date night. We made a reservation for 2 online and arrived at 8pm. There is a $20pp no show fee. Upon arrival, we were greeted by 2 hostess and seated within 5mins. There was 1 large party and about 2-3 tables had 2 people or so. The bar area had a nice crowd and the music was great ( a mix of R&B and reggae). Having viewed the menu ahead of time, we ordered food with the drink orders. Food came out in less than 30 minutes and we enjoyed everything (catfish fingers, shrimp & grits, and plantains) and the total was approximately $78 with the added 18% gratuity. I never saw a dessert menu. Service was typical- no issues. However, once we finished eating and were ready to pay, service became slow. From the time we placed the credit card in the folio, it took 20 mins for our server to pick up the check. I only saw 2 waitresses working the main restaurant area so that could explain the delay. I would go back and sit at the bar or order to go from pick up window because the food is great but paying the bill takes longer than it should. I can't imagine what it would be like on a night with alot of patrons. The venue is an strip mall and has alot of parking, which is always a bonus.

Yelp
I've been coming to Sobe for awhile, honestly because it's one of the only establishments in the area for a certain demographic., they're cool. The food is good, drinks are overpriced as usual, my problem is you try to give them money and they act like they don't even want it. The process for reserving a table is so convoluted someone has to be getting paid under the table. Send an email request, wait for an email, wait for a link, get a separate link and pay, then text some other person that you paid. You can't simply walk in and purchase a table and they don't communicate the request

Yelp
Super awesome staff and food. I really enjoyed my NOjito and when the Mojito was too strong for my friend, they remade it and toned it down to her liking. The live band was on point, but I recommend not sitting too close if you'd like to have a conversation with others in your party. Music is super loud if you're close to the speakers

Yelp
I have been here a few times before with no problems but this was a different interaction. I called about 5 days early to reserve a table for 12. We arrived and it was problem after problem. The first problem was the fact that when I reserved the table they asked was it for a specific occasion and I explained it was a birthday celebration. Now i'm no genius but when one says birthday I just automatically assume cake and balloons. WELL, there are no balloons allowed which could seem like a big deal had the place not been empty. There may have been 10 people max there that night. I walked in with a cake to which the host responds "are you aware of the cake policy?" I obviously was not because no one mentioned one when I made a birthday dinner reservation (can you feel my irritation at this point). There is a $45 charge for just bringing in a cake! Immediately NO! I took the cake and balloons back to the car and politely explained when I made the reservation the situation and the manager didn't care at all! As much as I enjoyed the food this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't have much more to say just ask any question you can think of before visiting. This was a cool spot but the prices are too high and there needs to be some changes made or this place won't be around for long. Based on the lack of people this is not the only problem they have had.

Yelp
Actual jumbo lump crab meat inside. Sweet sauce on top. I would order the crab cakes again.
