Google
Came here with a good friend, love the look of the place and the food is outstanding. It serves Czech food, and it is super delicious. I don't even live in the area, but I'm still going to go back. I believe at some point the place turns into more of a bar, so be sure to get there a bit earlier.

Google
Loved everything about the way this place felt including the hockey jerseys on the ceiling and the bell to start trivia. Pool room is just right and the times I was present there were others playing so it was easy to get a game if I wanted. This pub stands with the best I’ve ever been to nationwide

Google
Went here for lunch. It wasn't very busy but it is a sports bar so this would be a great place to watch a game. They also have pool tables. The food was delicious. The service was great. There is a parking lot in the back, but it has very limited space. Decent amount of seating inside, and there is an area out back for smokers with seating.

Nice bar and grill on Broadway Street in Denver. Stopped by late on Friday night and wasn't disappointed. Great bartenders! This is a Czech themed hockey bar and grill (good 👍 food) with a large billiards room in the back. They have live music on some nights. Hockey jerseys line the ceiling from all teams... Lots of activity and great music piped in, as well as a pretty good selection of tasty beers. Only reason I gave this 4 stars and not 5 is because there is only 1 bathroom... I would go back for sure 😁. UPDATE -- I mistakenly missed the two restrooms in the hallway, as pointed out by the Manager. My apologies 😐. DEFINITELY czech this place out! (See what I did there? LOL 😂). I'll be sure to go back again (and probably have to find one of those other two bathrooms 🤪). BTW - the first bathroom in the main room was VERY clean. Thanks 👍

Google
My fiancé introduced me to this bar not only for the ambiance and reasonably priced drink, but because they also have a Karaoke dj that hosts every Thursday and Saturday night. From the food, to the clientele, to the bartenders and everyone else, this place remains one of the BEST places in Downtown Denver! I see myself continuing to celebrate here, for every kind of reason!!!

Google
Great Czech hockey bar with incredible food, soups, and homemade apple strudel! Corned beef and cabbage was amazing. Prices great. Pool tables. Patio. Great place for hockey games!

Google
Awesome Czech Dive Bar with awesome authentic Czech food and beers!!! Awesome environment for games (huge hockey bar) and a few of pools tables. Great spot for some social drinking and dining!

Yelp
We frequent here to play pool and eat good food!! They have daily specials as well as rotating sausages. Their sausages are so good. They are grilled to perfection and bursting with flavor! They have a spicy mustard to use and I recommend it! Their sauerkraut soup is delicious if you are into it. We are! The service is always attentive and the happy hour is decent as well. They play all the avs games but if you want to see one you should get there early. It gets busy. The prices are very fair as well compared to other restaurants on Broadway. Check it out!

Yelp
As a Czechoslovakian (having family in Slovakia and Czechia) I always look forward to finding places like this. The first few times I have been there were ok but this last time was awful and made me never want to come back. The place reeked like cigarettes. The bartender was straight up rude and didn't seem like she wanted to be there. Such a shame.

Alex S.

Yelp
Very disappointed in this place. The burger was incredibly underwhelming and just straight up bad.. Was just a terrible burger for a restaurant. Some of the staff members were not too fun to deal with. Cool bar though, solid place to get a drink

Yelp
Nice selection of Central European bar snacks and great for sports on tv. Would recommend the kielbasa

Yelp
This was one of the last stops on a bar crawl with friends. It was a chill way to end the night, though I can see us STARTING at Sobo 151 next time. How fun that it's a karaoke bar! You'd only be able to sing if you put your name on the list early in the evening like most places. Service is great. They were out of a few beers, so I got a pilsner to top off the night. It can get a little loud, but I suppose that's what the back room is for. Need to try their food next time.

Yelp
Truly never experienced more sexism at a bar in Denver. I was ignored by a male bartender for a man who showed up several minutes after me, got the wrong drink and told that's what I ordered (I never order vodka sodas, only sprites) and had a bartender refuse to change a game that was already on 4 tvs to the women's final 4 game. Truly not a good experience

Yelp
We flew in for a short weekend to see relatives in Denver. It was about 11am on a Saturday morning. We were one of three tables served on a Saturday morning. The bar/tavern looks pretty authentic right from Prague. I am told that Friday and Saturday at this old style Central European bar is full of hockey and sports fans. This was my first attempt at Czech food. I ordered the chicken paprika with dumplings. The dish had a lot of red stew/sauce; still quite good. The dumplings were very tasty and resembled a thick pita bread. Our server was friendly and very welcoming. This was a fine attempt for me to try something new- (a meal from Czechia).

Yelp
Love love love SOBO 151! Seriously one of my favorite places in town. The food is awesome, and definitely scratches that Central European itch. Schnitzel is great, goulash is solid, topinky is good. The rest of the menu hits the spot as well, good wings and I like their sausages. Their beer taps are appreciated; always nice to get a freshly poured Czechvar or Pilsner Urquell. The staff is fantastic. Very attentive, fast, friendly to a fault, and always welcoming. The fact it is a hockey bar chock full of cool pieces of Avs and Czech/Slovak memorabilia just makes it even better.

Yelp
A hidden gem in Denver! Found this place after a baptism. Amazingly friendly staff and great food. Very good for families even though it is a sports bar. The Gulas was great and my wife loved the chicken paprika. Will definitely come back next time we're in Denver.
google avatar

Yelp
Great bar and seriously delicious food! We never leave disappointed coming to sobo 151 and always end up so full we need a wheel barrel to get home. The beer selection is great. Sausage and schnitzel are an absolute must! The brunch schnitzel is incredible. It's the only green chili I have come to love. We crave this place endlessly. Usually very laid back and chill vibes in there. They have parking which is great too!
google avatar

Ed K.

Yelp
Good food, fairly priced drinks with daily specials, decent service. If you're a hockey fan this bar is a good place.
google avatar

Hallie M.

Yelp
Best place for cheap beer, czech food, and Saturday night karaoke! Also gets rowdy for Avs games, soccer games. Tons of TVs and pool tables.

Yelp
My friend and I were in Denver on a lil vacay and we happened to walk by this place. Being from Nola, we are both suckas for a random bar. We had never been to a Czech bar so why the hell not?! It was a quaint spot right off a busy street. The bartender was friendly..dont remember where he was from but had a great accent. It was fairly empty so we ordered a couple of beers and they came out fast. After reviewing a menu of items we have NEVER tasted we went with the DABELSKE TOPINKY. It was a spicy ground beef dish that had a really great, unique flavor. They were out of the garlic that usually goes on top..wish I wasnt told how great the dish is with it. Anywho..the dish was really good and paired well with a local beer.

Yelp
Traveling for vacation we were fortunate enough for there to be an avalanche playoff game and we went looking for local bars putting on the game. We found the perfect spot! The game was the only thing on all the screens and every person in there was screaming for their local team. It was amazing! The food is Czech and was awesome! We got the beef in gravy and the full schnitzel, I loved both! The beer came in game perfect sizes and was the best pairing for the food. We got some free avalanche swag to end the big win!! It was a great night for us!

Yelp
I saw another reviewer say "the Fahrenheit 151 wings are the best in Denver". And I thought, "Really?" Yes. Really. Just this short of being TOO hot. Full of a range of flavors of sweet and citrusy and spicy. They really might be the best wings in Denver.
google avatar

Vizsla T.

Yelp
Great sports bar with Czech cuisine. If you love ice hockey this is the place to be. Avalanche fans spot. The Goulash is excellent, pair it with the Czech Pilsner Urquell and you can't go wrong.

Joy S.

Yelp
I used to like this bar until the owner, Philip, (who was obviously drunk) came over to me while I was playing pool and told me my leggings made my ass look good.

Marilyn Z.

Yelp
Sooo disappointed in this place. The schnitzel was overcooked. Could barely cut it. That was the case for 4 out of the 5 of us that ordered it. Gravy that came with it was barely warm. Asked for hot gravy and it was barely warm when brought out. Cucumber salad had way too much vinegar....almost inedible. The only decent thing was the sauerkraut soup. Won't go back. Really miss Golden Europe. That was good food!
google avatar

Kal C.

Yelp
Chill bar with some good food. Not the cheapest place for drinks but it's cool, they have a smoking patio.
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
Came in on a regular night. Service started off pretty good. Quick and courteous, but that soon changed. Ordered a beer and it took forever to get to the table. It finally came. Then I ordered some chicken strips. They never showed up, about an hour later the waitress came by and told me she forgot to enter the order, and asked if I still wanted them. Well, we were about to leave so no, not really. We had ordered one last round of drinks too, and they took about 20 minutes to get to our table. The buzz at this point was already gone, and we wanted to just get out of there. If we come back we'll probably just end up not ordering anything and play a few games of pool.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Let's start with the good news, GOOD BEER! Bad news, what happened to the super fun, hilarious, fantastic singer, fully tattooed, pretty karaoke host? I left for a couple of years, moved back, wanted to do some karaoke, and apparently, she is gone! Amberama! Come Back! Sorry to say, but the karaoke is just bad now. The sound is crappy, the host is boring and mumbly and there is no excitement or positive energy. My suggestion, get Amberama back. She stole the show every time, we came because of her. We always had fun.
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
This place is just really amazing, as simple as it might be...a little hole in the wall...the Schnitzel, the Brotz and the European potato salad are the best! Well maybe not the best, but as close to moms as it could be!

Yelp
Another great meal at SoBo 151! After having a couple drinks at the Denver Distillery, we walked across the street to our favorite and only Czech hockey dive bar and restaurant. We started with a couple appetizers, including their Czech garlic dip (more like a thick garlicky cheese spread). Bob always orders the smazak, which is a very naughty breaded and deep fried ham and provolone entree served with Czech tartar sauce. This time I ordered the half roasted duck for my entree, with red cabbage. It was tasty, and hit the spot. This entree requires about 20 minutes longer than most entrees, and they warn you about that. I would have preferred the skin to have been crispier, but did enjoy the Eastern European paprika sauce in which it was cooked. The Czech dumplings are very interesting. They are somewhere between a bread and a potato.  For those who have never been, "SoBo" stands for South Broadway. It is very focused on hockey with multiple games playing on their  TV's at any given time, which sometimes brings in some good eye candy. ;)

Yelp
Been coming here 5 years overall love this place for the pool and the hockey. Tonight I came In around midnight and asked for two beers for my boyfriend and I, we kept our tab open and went to play pool. A server comes around and says last call. we were never going to have more than one, we close. I leave her a fat cash tip. She comes back around lmao. Says "you guys have to leave after this game the owners want to leave and I don't want to be here either" sounds like a personal issue mam. Less than 30 minutes ago we walked in and had no reference of your saga. Keep us out. Xoxo. Alex.

Lindsey R.

Yelp
Fun bar but the bartenders are too slow/there are too few of them so it takes forever to get a drink.
google avatar

Yelp
What a great surprise! We stopped in for a post Mayan movie bite to eat. Our server immediately steered us away from the wine--okay so it took a glass first--and into Czech beers, great direction. We had house appetizers, split an order of duck and then strudel. The food was good by any standard; warming, comforting and plentiful. The big surprise was the service. I don't remember her name, but what a helpful and attentive server she was. Every course a change of flatware, water and beers closely monitored. SoBo 151 rates a big shoutout for friendly neighborhood nice people and service. Below is a picture of strudel, showing much thought and effort that went into a lovely presentation. Thank you.

Yelp
Love this place and come often. Great staff, food, and drinks! Chicken dumpling thing and burgers are my fav!

Yelp
Good place for supper food is very good! Place is clean and restrooms too. Lots of good Czech beers and full bar

Yelp

Yelp
We just came in for a drink and was happy to find this little spot. No food was ordered so no report there. The staff was friendly and soccer was in the tv so no complaints! Would come back!

Yelp
This is one of the top 10 places we've tried in Denver. The Garlic Dip is soooo delicious. The salt and pepper wings are ridiculously good and finally the burger. Good God it was good. Went being keto and found tons of keto friendly options. We will be back!! Service was awesome too!!

Brent B.

Yelp
Two stars because it is still the best hockey bar in Denver, with an excellent beer selection, and a good atmosphere I can't help but come back to. That said, the management and staff are as surly, unpleasant, and downright terrible as any you'll find in Denver. And, God forbid, you dare to bring in children... This is an establishment with European sensibilities, and a strong distaste for any "terrible parents" out there who have the audacity to go to a bar to watch games with their kids (too bad, in a world where Comcast and Altitude still can't get along). If your kid spills half a glass of water (yes water, not beer), their Byzantine "spilled drinks" policies will have them tossing you - or threatening to call the cops on you - presumably as a CYA. It's downright weird and unconscionable in a post-COVID world. Are businesses so flush with business? Maybe, but it sure doesn't seem so. While I would be sad for Sobo-151 to leave the Denver scene, they don't deserve your business. In a competitive world, assholes (pardon my French) shouldn't be rewarded. Try someplace else. Go Avs.
google avatar

Erik F.

Yelp
My close Euro friends (German, Croatian) introduced me to Sobo years ago. I have sampled many of the menu items and found them all fantastic. The Czech garlic dip is excellent, although I would avoid if on your first date unless you both love garlic! The schnitzel, bratwurst, and kielbasa plates are fantastic, and the Goulash is the best (this isn't your Midwest mother's version of goulash w elbow macaroni and tomatoe sauce!). Czech beers on tap, and this was the first place I drank Slivovitz (you will gain respect with your euro friends if you drink this plum brandy jet fuel). This place is also a hockey bar which is a bonus. Service is also very good.
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
SO GOOD! - being new in town, came here on the recommendation of a local I had met at a previous bar visit, and what a great decision! Divey vibe, but in the perfect way - like its a local hangout where you come to hang with your pals, not to be wow'ed with bells and whistles. Menu is somewhat diverse, touting czech specialties like schnitzel and kielbasa with kraut, but also some more familiar options like burgers and wings in a variety of flavors, like thai chili, for those less inclined to try something that may be a bit unfamiliar. Service was PERFECT. Food came quick, bartender offered me a few tastes of some Czech beers that I was interested in (ended up settling on the dunkel - SO TASTY!). Prices are super reasonable even outside of happy hour, but with the specials they run from 3-6 (including free-play pool), youd be a fool not to check it out, especially if you're on a budget. All in all, this place is DOPE-TASTIC! HIGHLY RECCOMMEND!
google avatar

Kristen B.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. I love going there; they have a great beer selection and the food never disappoints, no matter what I try. This is a bar for hockey fans, so it can get loud but it is so much fun! I've been hung up on the schnitzel lately, but I did change up my sides and try the sauerkraut soup. It blew my mind. Love, love, love this place.
google avatar

Yelp
About the best bar in town! Peter is the man! We were lucky enough to throw a little engagement at the bar. Friends played pool all night and we had a blast. Pool tables are top notch and don't forget to ask for a Bekrovka shot!!!!

Lynn V.

Yelp
Duck, knedlicky (yes: authentic Czech BREAD dumplings), 2 kinds of kraut. Duck could be tad more crispy. Who cares, great service, the sides were on point. Great Czech brewskis on draft. All said, jez like grandma used to serve? Including the beer, na zdravi!
google avatar

Bruce W.

Yelp
Great authentic Czech food and other. Kind staff. Real Czech beer. What more do you need?
google avatar

Yelp
Come here for the Czech Garlic Dip and Salt & Pepper Wings. Stay for the cold beer. Love Sobo 151!

Yelp
4 stars? Huh? Did I go to the same place? I didn't read the reviews so not sure what they are rating so high? It had to be the beer or cocktails? The service sucked. One girl busting her tail. Couldn't understand her very well. I think she was speaking English? Poor thing. She was happy knowing she was going to rake it in. Good for her. We ordered the wings. Nothing special here. Regular normal, meh wings. The dipping sauce was good. Whatever it was. Ordered the duck. Well... it had potential but was way too expensive for something so tiny and bland. The cabbage was good. The "dumplings" are actually bread. Yup, bread. See pic. Not good either. Bland and had a weird texture. Soooo very expensive for "ok" food. Menu is very limited. It must be more of a bar because it hasn't been re-decorated...ever. Doesn't look like a Czech place. A bunch of tv's and sport jerseys everywhere. Yikes. Well, won't be wasting anymore time there.
google avatar

Donna B.

Yelp
Neighborhood bar, famous for Czech food, great burgers and hockey. It's good to cone here during cold winter months if you prefer clean air. Once the weather gets nice the front door is open and the cigarette smoke is unbearable. May as well allow smoking inside. So damn sad.
google avatar

Hanna A.

Yelp
Worst place I have ever been to. The server dropped the food and never returned to see if we wanted anything else. I needed water and had to go into the restaurant to find the waitress. This wasn't a pleasant experience. When I asked for the manager the other waitress said she was the manager. She was just lying. Terrible experience do not go there!

Chris M.

Yelp
Super tasty roasted duck and beef goulash. And yes, those are Czech dumplings and they're delicious!

Eric S.

Yelp
Fantastic food, great drink special, super awesome fun environment. Come for lunch, stay for happy hour. Shoot some pool, watch a hockey game. Staff is friendly. It was my favorite bar when I lived in the neighborhood!

Derek B.

Yelp
Great food, amazing service, fantastic imported beer on tap. They have quilted toilet paper.
google avatar

Tanna C.

Yelp
Solid sports bar. I'm not a sports lover, so I really just go for the Czech food and the Becherovka digestif. Both of those may only be great to those who have been to Czech -- they just bring me great memories. They may go up a star after I try the duck. The dumpling brunch/lunch is quite good. The staff is fine. Cool ambiance. Parking is always easy. it's a little weird that they offer green chile, but I guess it IS Colorado.......
google avatar

Andrea H.

Yelp
Great Svickova! I live in Sequim, WA and had reason to come to the area. Always come here when I'm in town.

Yelp
I stumbled into this local Czech dive with my partner on a cold Colorado night, in the Baker section of the city of Denver. I had an Uber driver from Denver try to tell me that he's never heard of Baker. The same guy told me that he likes the bars downtown because they have large restrooms? Long story short, Baker is also known as South Broadway for you out-of-towners. Anyway, Sobo is an extremely unique bar. They earn there stars in this review for the delicious Czech beers they have on draft, along with the hockey memorabilia decorated on the walls and the 4 pool tables in the back section of the bar. This place is a hockey and soccer bar, and is packed like a can of sardines with fans during games. When the avalanche score, the bartender even slams on a cowbell in your ear while you try to enjoy your beer. A truly authentic experience, as it feels like you are sitting in the stands at the local ice arena. Fair warning if you are ordering food here: Stay clear of the Czech garlic dip appetizer. This stuff tastes good going down, but rumbled my stomach(as well as my partners) for the following 48 hours after consumption. This orange ball of garlicky gluey paste is in the no go zone. Stay clear if you don't want to get sick. Good service, better beer, best atmosphere, terrible garlic glue. Loved the candy on the bar for Halloween

Yelp
I came here for my boss's birthday because she's a big fan of their roasted duck so 4 of us came out for this duck. When we arrived, our server advised us that they were out of duck. So, each of us got something different - I ordered the kielbasa, which oh my god, was so good and the sauerkraut is probably the best kraut I've had in Denver. Two of my co-workers ordered the goulash - which was good, the meat was tender and the sauce was heavy and thick but the bread dumplings weren't right. I'm Czech and have grown up with Czech food of all kinds and these dumplings just didn't do it for me as I had hoped. Finally, the birthday girl ordered the pork schnitzel and while not as I imagined, it was pretty good. I would recommend ordering this with a side of sauerkraut. So, the food was good and I would totally go back for the food. BUT - the service was something else. Our server kept forgetting things - he came back 3-4 times to confirm our orders, he promised my boss a shot for her birthday and he never delivered it, she also requested a side of the sauerkraut and he never brought this out either. He kept referencing the fact that he was up all night the night previous because something happened with his family that he hadn't seen in 20 years (and then later said 30 years?) and he was extremely distracted as a result. He also was very touchy - he brought me into a hug at least 3 separate times and not just an arm around hug - a FULL ON squeeze. It was a really weird experience and I doubt I would go back here to stay - maybe order food as takeout or something?
