I got a mocha latte with oat milk and their sunrise sandwich; both were excellent! The latte was not very sweet, the espresso left a pleasant aftertaste, and it was steamed well. Definitely one of my favorites, and I’m certain to be back. The sandwich was delicious too! It’s so adjustable, as you choose the bread, the sauce, and the cheese. Aside from all this, both people on shift were super sweet and excellent at service! I think this is important to keep a welcoming environment for a cafe, and you can feel that here. Will definitely be my new reading spot.

I came here on a whim. The service here was excellent. The employees were beyond nice and very attentive. I couldn’t say enough about how kind they were it was very sweet. The place was very cute I felt like I was in a small town movie type of charm. And that muffin was so freaking good!

I was out looking at a few properties and stopped in for a quick coffee and snack. This was my first time here and it was a great find. Staff were awesome and very friendly. The coffee was excellent and so was the lemon poppy scone. I’ll be back for sure ☕️

Steady Coffee is truly a gem! The coffee was absolutely amazing — rich, smooth, and full of flavor. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. And the cinnamon roll… incredible! Fresh, warm, and the perfect amount of sweetness. Such a great locally owned spot. I’ll definitely be back!

this is one of my favorite coffee shops in all of Jacksonville! I don’t drink coffee but I love herbal tea and this place offers the most unique tea and non caffeinated drink options! They’re all SO good! The bagels are also top notch. Something about it is just perfect. I thought about it all week when I had it and went back for another. Very cute vibes, friendly staff, and great service.

Amazing find for coffee! I’m very picky with coffee and was not expecting such a great cappuccino! Also tried their latte and 10/10!! The only odd thing is that croissants were a little burnt so I wish I had ordered the bagel sandwich like my husband did. Highly recommend this place! Worth the price.

First time stopping by and I was absolutely blown away. Bret delivered outstanding customer service from start to finish. The cappuccino was perfectly made, and the RTG bagel was toasted just right. The bacon was crispy without being burnt, and the garlic aïoli tied everything together beautifully. The coffee was so good I had to grab another one to go. Hands down, this is now my go-to spot whenever I’m in the area.

I’ve come to this shop for a while because the coffee is excellent, and the employees other than the owner have always been welcoming. Unfortunately, the owner’s behavior toward me has consistently felt different from how he treats other customers, and over time it has given me the impression that he’s uncomfortable or unprofessional around people with different religious backgrounds. When I first started coming in, I often wore my hijab. During that time, the owner’s tone with me was noticeably colder and more dismissive. One example was when he argued with me over the size of my drink, insisting I ordered a medium even though I always order a large. At the same time, he greeted other customers with a warm, friendly tone that I never received. Later on, when I wasn’t wearing my hijab as often, his attitude noticeably improved, which only made the pattern more concerning. Most recently, I asked him if he had considered adding a vegan breakfast option with vegan meat, especially because I think it would sell well in this area. I mentioned that I sometimes eat vegan meat because I need halal options. Instead of acknowledging the suggestion, he responded with, “Well, I’m Christian and we have our different beliefs.” It felt dismissive and out of place, and it made the interaction uncomfortable. On my latest visit, he didn’t greet me at all, even though he greeted every other customer who walked in. The rest of the staff were as kind as always, but the repeated behavior from the owner has left me feeling singled out and unwelcome. The drinks here are great, but I can’t support a business where the owner doesn’t show tolerance or basic respect for customers who come from different religious backgrounds. Because of that, I won’t be returning.

Love this place! The coffee is delicious, I tried the iced latte and enjoyed watching how they made it - they even shake the espresso with ice before serving. They have simple syrup in the self serve counter which is a nice touch. The baristas were friendly and made conversation as they made the coffee. The inside is small but welcoming. Will be a regular at this spot!

Man oh man. I work at the fire station a minute from this coffee shop and haven't made it over to this coffee shop until today. One of the best coffees ive had in a long time. I wish I knew the two people that helped me and created the coffee since I let them have full range of what they made me since I was just exhausted from working so many days in a row. They crushed it! I had a drink thats called the "Gladiator" (their hazelnut/coocnut cold brew but they add a shot of espresso to it) with lavender, honey & whole milk. Light ice; ofcourse. But it was fabulous. Thanks guys!

Just stopped in for a quick cup of coffee. The owner happened to be serving us and was very outgoing, informed us of his intentions to expand to other areas. We got 2 light roast coffees and a decaf. The light roast was some of the best I've ever tasted and I bought a lb of beans for home.

If you need a ton of caffeine, get a gladiator. I get it with the house made creamer -- whatever the flavor is at the time. Coffee or a latte doesn't help energize me at all thanks to ADHD. But if I take in a LOT of caffeine all at once, then I can finally focus and get work done. It does make me hyper, but that also helps me to do my work and clean the house with all of the extra energy. Everyone that works here has been really kind and helpful. Go early if you'd like a delicious pastry from their case!

You cannot go wrong at the place! Their house blend coffee with their house cream over ice is absolutely delicious!! The everything bagel with prosciutto, egg, cheese, arugula and tomato is amazing!! The service is great with extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff!! Give them a try and you'll be hooked!!

Super cute spot. The staff is super friendly. The drink was yummy. I was able to leverage the WiFi with no issues.

Stopped by after RAM today to get some reading and online grocery shopping done. Coffee shops are my fave so I'm gonna go with a 3 part criteria for this spot: 1. Food 2. Espresso 3. Vibes Social House has a decent variety of food for a little coffee shop. A few pastries and breakfast sandwich options. They were out of most of their bread options and only had everything bagels when we came so I didn't get anything to eat, but my partner did and very much enjoyed their Sunrise sandwich. I will note that, for its size, this sandwich did fall on the expensive side (a little over $7). The sandwich I almost ordered for myself, the B.O.A., came in at about $9. We both very much enjoyed our lattes. The espresso was nice and mellow and they had oatmilk available as a dairy alternative (which is by far our fave). We both finished our lattes down to the last drop. Something not typical of us at all. Last but not least: the vibes. This part was the one I was most excited to write. The vibes at this place are TOP TIER. Not only is it adorable with lots of real plants and cute seating, but the staff was very friendly and even chatted with us about the book my partner was reading. All in all I would absolutely come back to this spot. My only gripes were that the outdoor chairs aren't as comfortable as the ones inside and the price is pretty high even compared to some of the other coffee shops in the area. We paid about $24 pre-tip for a breakfast sandwich, one 20oz latte, and one 16oz latte.

Usually we absolutely love this place, but today they said they closed at 12:30 when it is listed everywhere they close at 1 and claimed 2:30 on days they close at 3. Claimed they couldn't make bagels because of the 12:30 closing time but offered to make coffee. However, regarding the coffees, they didn't put the syrups in our coffee that we paid for and the barista was handling trash and went straight to making the coffees without washing his hands, putting his fingers into the portafilter prior to putting coffee grounds in. Just super disappointing for a place we usually love and drove 25 min out of our way to go to.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Jacksonville. Love the workers, always welcoming! Very helpful in finding a drink I would like. Calm atmosphere which I love, great place to relax or study

Five stars would go to Social House for the Gladiator alone -- a combination of iced coffee, espresso, and house sweetened cream. It's the cure for any morning when you wake up dragging. Minus one stars for the occasionally inconsistent food offerings. A couple of times, I've gotten a muffin that is still frozen in the middle. The scones are bizarrely flat and hard, like someone forgot to add baking powder. But the croissants are on point. Service is excellent, friendly and attentive. Prices are on the higher side, but trust me, the Gladiator is worth the $$.

I was in the area and needed a pick me up. I was feeling thirsty and hungry. I found the coffee house and went in and ordered a Rose Strawberry lemonade Cold Matcha drink. No sugar added. I also bought a blue berry muffin and was going to only eat half. It was so delicious, I could not stop. I consumed the entire muffin. I mentioned the coffee flights to the Owner. I showed him a picture. It was not really his cup of tea. He thought if the coffees sat too long, it would compromise the coffee. I love the vibe and the atmosphere. I wish I lived closer. I will stop in again when I am in the area. Kudos!

Stopped in today for a cup of coffee while I chatted with a friend. The shop is located on Herschel Street close to where it intersects with San Juan Ave. They have a small parking lot for the business as it shares the location with two other businesses but there is plenty of street parking. The business is a little small with only three tables inside and a bar with stools inside and two tables outside. You order at the back of the room and the menu is a little hard to find. The staff are friendly and helpful. I picked a cup of the drip of the day. I got the Christmas blend for $2.75 which has notes of gingerbread (I think) and the staff helped my friend pick out a tea. They will warn you they warn you the tea comes out hot, you should listen. We chose one of the outside tables which were great on a day like today when the temp is cool. They use shrubbery to block the roadway so you don't have to look at the road. Totally recommend it if you need a cup of coffee as the staff are highly knowledgeable and they brew a good cup.

Nice part of town the shop is located quite and relaxing atmosphere, food menu is Vegetarian friendly nice social place. Associates were nice and helpful.

Stopped by Saturday morning to grab my Elite perk, a large drip dark roast coffee and a chocolate croissant.  The coffee was good, tasted fresh ground and fresh brewed. The croissant was very good - light, flaky and just the right amount of buttery sweetness. It paired well with my dark roast coffee. I didn't receive my Yelp item but it's okay, the vibe and service made up for it. The two employees working were great. I ended up adding B.O.A. and the Big Rich to our order and, yea, those were delicious! Definitely will be stopping by again to get those. The coffee shop has a chill vibe and everyone there was very friendly. I'm glad I got to check out a cool local spot. I'll be back. ***Only 4-star due to not enforcing social distancing inside.

I think I have become slightly addicted to the drip at Social House. They offer a few varieties here that are unlike any other spots around and I looovee that. My addiction began with a fun Yelp Elite Squad perk - I was offered a free small drip coffee and croissant and next thing I knew I was visiting 2-3 times a week. What are they putting in this stuff?! The Social House baristas are very kind and knowledgeable . I appreciate a friendly face and there are several I've gotten to know here, I'm just terrible with names (sorry guys!) There have been a few times when I arrived late in the morning and they always make sure to send me off with a fresh brewed cup and I certainly don't mind waiting the extra few minutes for it. Atmosphere is modern/sort of industrial but welcoming and clean. I like sitting inside sometimes but you can't beat the little covered patio out front when the weather is nice. They offer customers speedy wifi and a nice clean restroom. What more can you ask for? I normally take my cup to-go but the appeal to sit and "hang" for a bit is definitely there! Overall, Social House is one of my favorite coffee shop finds since I've been living in Jacksonville. If you're feeling adventurous they have plenty of other offerings besides my usual (and frankly boring) drip coffee such as cold brew, espresso, teas, bagels, snacks and more. Stop in and give them a try next time you're in the neighborhood.

Visited today for a Yelp Elite Yes! Meal.  Drip coffee and croissant.  The shop is small but well appointed with couple tables inside and some outdoor seating as well.  Very classy look inside with black/white theme.  While I only had the drip coffee they have all the standard options for fancy coffee but I think the drip tells you a lot since there is nothing to hide with syrups and frothed milk.  The coffee was good, not too bitter or strong, I liked it.   Now let me tell you about the croissant.  I didn't eat it immediately as it was going to be my mid morning snack.  Let me tell you....the drive home and not eating it was a challenge, it filled the whole car with the delicious scent of baked goodness!  It was golden brown, glisteny and when I finally did chow down it was amazing, flakey, buttery....mmm They have mugs, t-shirt and coffee beans for sale as well.  I wish we lived closer as this would be a great every day local haunt that we would frequent.  I will def add it to the list for future when we move out of the burbs and into Avondale/Riverside area where the cool kids live.   I would say that the small shop and the tables inside would make it hard to social distance if there is more then 1 or 2 people ordering or waiting for their order to be ready but you just adjust.  Also (and im sure this is just b/c of covid) you have to ask for creamer and they pour it in for you.  No big deal, i just didn't realize when she asked me if i wanted anything in the coffee and I said no and then had to go back and ask for creamer.

Update. The coffee is still good but the scones are not the same. (Unfortunately can't recommend those anymore.)

By far the most amazing coffee shop in the area. They have some of the most delicious croissants and bagels I've ever had and of course the coffee is *chefs kiss* sensational. Love all the staff, super friendly and always get to know their regulars and their orders with a warm welcoming environment. Will always have my business for the rest of time

Cool new coffee shop that just opened up. There is a different vibe about this coffee shop, only because it's owned by a one cool Cat. And when I say Cat, I mean a Jaguar. Arrelious Benn is a former Jacksonville Jaguars player. He and his wife Mariel are proud owners of this new shop, which serves mainly coffee and some pastries.   They also sell bagged whole coffee beans, which carrries creative names. Arrelious gave us some 411. * Oskee-Wow-Wow Breakfast Blend: That's the famous Illinois cheer..."Oskee Wow Wow". And by significance, this is where Arrelious Benn played College Football, his Alma Mater. * Tulio 1930 Espresso: "Tulio" is Mariel's grandfather. * Mama Cucha French Roast: This blend was named after Mariel's grandmother, "Cucha". * Mellow Mable Decaf: This blend is named after Arrelious Benn's grandmother, "Mable".   We ordered and tried the Gladiator iced coffee (5/5). While I'm more of a light roast coffee drinker, this coffee felt like it shot me out of a Coffee Cannon. Bold. Loved it though.   BTW...It is important to note that the bagged coffee beans are available for grinding upon request. Last but not least...... GO JAGS!!!

There's plenty of parking across the street. There's a few tables so get your stuff to go. They stop serving hot food (minus bagels) an hour before closing. Nice staff. If like Starbucks I don't think this will be your favorite, they err on the more robust coffee flavor than the tastiness of the beverage(i.e sweetness, we had to add sugar to both beverages). Not my cup of joe, but it certainly could be for someone who's into a more boutique experience. It's hipster coffee, so everything is bold even the mixed beverages. We ordered the gladiator iced coffee and the iced vanilla latte. Almond Croissant was amazing even by European standards.

Awesome local coffee shop! Friendly staff, clean comfy seating and really good coffee! I had the Dark Roast with cream and two sugars, perfect pick me up! Temperature was just right and taste delicious. I also had a tasty toasted croissant. It was flaky and also very good!. Love this local roast and looking forward to getting a latte next visit.

Well, this was a pleasant surprise. This is my kind of coffee shop right here. I've heard great things about Social House, and decided to drop in on a particularly chilly morning, in search of a steamy, creamy, dreamy cup of cocoa. That's right, as in hot chocolate. Coffee has never suited my stomach well, I have no idea why, but que sera sera, I prefer the taste of chocolate anyways. The Scene: It's hip, it's cozy, it's quaint, and impeccably clean. There's a few seats available if you need to bust out the laptop and send out a few "I hope this finds you well..." emails, or to just chillax with a friend and catch up. I didn't see a food menu, but i did spy a couple of glass cake dishes housing various tempting croissants and pastries. The menu is straightforward and simple enough for....well....someone like me, but if you're an avid coffee drinker, or even a coffee connoisseur, they've got you covered. I ordered a large hot chocolate, with 2% milk (they have both dairy and non-dairy options, including oat milk), and I spied a generous-sized chocolate chip cookie beckoning to me from behind the counter, so I added that as well. I took my treats home to enjoy over several episodes of "Food Paradise." The hot chocolate was very rich, but not overwhelmingly sweet, which I appreciated. It's not the "sugar shock" type of drink that you'd find at most joints. Here, it's all about the chocolate, so I'll definitely be back for more. The thick, toothsome Chocolate Chip Cookie was perfectly crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. This was devoured with a tall, ice-cold glass of milk, and was one of the best cookies I've had. Kris, my server behind the counter, was very neighborly and easy-going, as if welcoming each patron into her home. I was in and out in no-time, and I'm sure I'll fast become a Social House regular! ABSOLUTE MUST!!! From someone who grew up in NY eating breakfast sandwich's, I have never had one as good as the one here. Had the BOA with an egg and parmigian cheese. The bacon is thick and cooked to perfection, spicy sauce is not spicy hot- more like a sweet spice. Seriously the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. 1 if the owners took our order and we had so many questions. She was so welcoming, knowledgeable and genuinely treated us like a family member. Ambiance was perfect for this type of restaurant. Can't recommend this establishment enough!!!

Incredible service, coffee and food are always excellent. Atmosphere is incredible. Always greeted with a smile and excellent service.

We stopped in because our usuals were just too busy. It had been on my list for a while but we'd never stopped in. I wanted to like it more but to be honest, I think this would be a back up and not my first choice. I do like that they make their food in house, that's always a plus. The bagel sandwiches were solid but the cook time was a bit longer and there was only 1 person a head of us. The biggest factor for the 4 stars was the latte. A honey latte is typically my go to. I was thankful to have the honey melted in but the latte itself was unremarkable. It wasn't bold and just didn't stand out compared to other local coffee shops. We'll give it another go because we've heard the coffee is 5 stars, we just didn't experience that for ourselves. The atmosphere is laid back and was very clean. So hopefully, we just got an off coffee day.

I stopped in here one day unaware of it's presence and was pleased to be greeted by a warm atmosphere and happy customers. It truly embodies the name "Social House Coffee' as the employees are certain to treat each customer with the same conversational and patient attitude every time. Their flavored cold brew is 10/10 out of this world, not a better cup of it in town. It's not over concentrated and never makes me jittery. Just a refreshing with only a light splash of nonfat milk and it makes my day. Their pastries are pretty good - 6/10 on a city-wide perspective. I would recommend a business deal with a bakery like Old Cup who has the best pastries in town but is lower traffic due to Southern Grounds. Or Round-bird Coffee who is already selling coffee from Social House. A great way for businesses to work together, improve with each-other's strengths and make income better for everyone! Either way, Social House stands on it's own with 5 Stars in my book! Cold brew is hard to perfect!

Quality hot and cold drinks that have us coming back. If I had to pick one, I'd go with the Brewski. Great vibe. And don't overlook their day-old dollar deal pastries!

So I've been a Regular customer for months now and let's just say I'm addicted! To the coffee, the pastries and the people that work here! They are always finding ways to improve the products and experience for their customers and you really feel like a you're having a coffee or tea at a friend's home.

Great little coffee shop! I have some friends in Riverside, and they have been recommending this place for some time. I finally made it to this place for coffee. Now, I'm a coffee snob and self-proclaimed amateur barista. All that to say, I am picky about my coffee. This was very good. I had the Brewski, which is a nitro brew. They generally serve theirs with a house cream that is awesome! However, I had oat milk in mine. It was very good and had a light body to it. I generally don't get cold brew, because it can be very bitter. Only some coffees should be made in a cold brew. This was very good! Not bitter and not too sweet. I highly recommend it. My friend goes there a little too often and ordered off their secret menu (gasp)! He ordered a Yosemite, which is a super hydrating drink made of coconut water, passion fruit, mint, and something else. I had a taste, and it was SO GOOD. When I go back, I will order this, and I will tell whoever comes with me to order this! You should all drive over to Social House and order a Yosemite!

The coffee and sandwiches are delicious and top quality but how is a breakfast sandwich with bacon $15? I won't be going back solely because of that. Aside from the price the service was great.

There are rare moments in life when the universe taps you on the shoulder and says" Check this out". That's what happened to me as I was driving by on Herschel Street this afternoon on the way to Ortega to check out the park with my kids. I didn't know what I was doing but I was determined to see what the deal was with this "Social House Coffee" joint. I don't really follow the jags so I had no idea that I was walking into the new business owned by Arrelious and Mariel Benn. Arrelious, played for the Jags and then got his masters degree in business and in his own words wanted to give something back to the community that cheered him on. Man- I can dig the story, but in the back of my mind I was still thinking... WHAT ABOUT THAT COFFEE THOUGH.... The coffee is fantastic. Bold with no acidity. They made me a latte with non GMO milk. Definitely one of the best, if not the best cup of coffee in the city. You want a place filled with community spirit, positivity, and a damn good cup of coffee, you HAVE to check them out !!!!! Ps- I forgot to mention that they roast their own beans have non dairy options for coffee AND they make their own pastry. Yeah. Nuff said.

Social House Coffee is brewing some tasty drinks! Matt got the Brewski which is coffee and their house made vanilla cream. I tried their cold brew. The aesthetic of the shop is calm and peaceful thanks to the plants and nice leather chairs. The front porch even has a dog bow for your furry friend! It will be a great spot to hang out (at 25% capacity starting Monday ). The owners are so friendly and kind, as well. It's fun to have new coffee shops in such a big town. Find them on Hershcel Street for a good cuppa and tasty treat.

Really cute coffee shop. The person at the register was lovely and really helpful (100% the scone was amazing). I ordered iced coffees, 2 egg sandwiches (which, tbh did take a long time to come out) and the aforementioned scone. Coffee was good, no complaints but really the 5 stars is for the service.

We love walking up to Social House Coffee for a warm and friendly environment, as well as really really good coffee. We've even bought a bag of their coffee to take home and love it!

My hubby and I have been frequenting this coffee shop and they never disappoint. The coffee is on point and their breakfast sandwich is deliciously good. Have it with bacon and their sweet sauce. We always come out of this place very satisfied. The owners are awesome and very welcoming and so as the staffs. Very friendly. This place is highly recommended

I just had great a great latte and my wife had an afternoon ice coffee. It's an awesome find and is conveniently located. Service was excellent as well. I plan on making it a regular stop. I highly recommend it! Meet AB when you go.

Big fan of this little coffee shop. I wasn't quite sure what to get but the helpful human on register was so quick to answer any questions and eventually suggested the Brewski (nitro cold brew with cream + an added pump of Carmel) and wow 10/10 would recommend. Cold brew used to scare me (lol idk why) but have no fear, the brewski is here so solve all your coffee needs! Staff did a great job of keeping everything clean + all were wearing masks. The shop is a bit small and has about 3 tables to sit at so just know that it may be a bit harder to find a table to chill at. Can't wait to come back!

This is a brilliant spot to stop for high quality, delicious coffee, croissants, breakfast sandwiches etc. There are very nice people working here too which just adds to the enjoyable experience.

First time trying out the coffee shop and to my amazement "It is delicious"! Coffee is so good and the staff are so kind. I am a Starbucks type a person but will come here when I'm in the area. In my opinion their latte is better than Starbucks.. if you looking for some great coffee, try this place out!

I've stopped into Social House a few times now and I only wish I lived closer. Both times I've been in the coffee has been great and the staff has been friendly and helpful. On my recent visit I also tried a chocolate chip cookie which was huge and delicious. If you're nearby this is the perfect stop for a coffee and a snack.

I'm pretty basic when it comes to coffee (cold brew, black, year round). Social House is hands down my favorite cold brew in Jacksonville. The Clean Gladiator is what coffee dreams are made of. I live at the beach but will make the trek to Avondale/Ortega/whatever neighborhood it's considered, for this cup of deliciousness. Or maybe just open one at the beach?! Just a thought...
