Social Tap Drinkery - Wichita State

Had a great time at Social Tap with my family! We went on a Friday and took advantage of their \$5 drink special — and wow, those drinks were *surprisingly strong* (in the best way). The pizza was also pretty good 4 star. The service was terrible, the waitress was absent, rarely checking on us, I didn’t see her for 30 mins and had to flag down another staff member to pay.

Great spot for a casual night out! The atmosphere was relaxed, and the service really stood out. Gehrig was an excellent server—attentive, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The food came out surprisingly fast, which was a nice bonus. We had the pizza and it was delicious—crispy crust, great toppings, and just the right amount of cheese. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

The place looks fantastic. I had never been here before so I'm assuming you just pick a spot to sit which I did. after browsing the menu for a bit I went with one of the 12inch pizzas. this was a great choice on my part the pizza came out perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic. the hot oil on the table pairs well with the pizza and really elevated the dish. i saw someone order the salads and they are pretty large dishes as well and was really tempted to try one also. I would come back to this place if I was local.

We had a surprise birthday party at social tap WSU location, and the staff were incredibly supportive and cooperative. They helped us keep the surprise, accommodated all our requests, and made sure everything went smoothly. The food was also amazing, enjoyed by everyone. We truly appreciated their excellent service and would definitely come back for future celebrations!

Great experience overall, but its slightly frustrating that no one even came to our table to get us waters or anything until we put in our order online via the qr code on the table. I get that most younger people want limited to no interaction, but it was frustrating having to wait until we submit our entire order before receiving water. We also ordered an appetizer, which would normally come before dinner. Nope. They just brought everything at once. The staff was nice,but orders seemed like a race to get you out. They were pretty slow when we were there so it wasn't like they were pushing to free up seating. We will probably order our next meal to go, as that seems like what the business wants anyway.

Baseball team and parents stopped in for a team dinner. 25ish people with us and we were able to be seated right away. Wait staff worked very well to get orders taken quickly and efficiently since the kids and adults sat at separate tables. Food was excellent and came out relatively quickly considering the number of orders all placed at the same time. Beer selection is solid and included a good number of local breweries.

Love love love social tap! Sarah was our server and she was fantastic! Delicious food every time. Great atmosphere and incredible drinks.

Whoa... east-side sleeper alert! DO NOT think of Social Tap only as a 'drinkery'. I have it as an 'eatery-drinkery'. Similarly, DO NOT think of it only as a WSU student spot. I have it as a student and public venue. Very welcoming interior. Large, relaxed, open, and airy with various seating options. Trendy sports bar vibe. The east side offers spacious patio seating, overlooking a placid pond. Great spot to chill. On to the food. You'll probably be greeted with a QR code scan menu and order option. Just tell 'em you're old-school and prefer a menu. No problem. For our starter, we had the Pepperoni Rolls. Served with warm marinera, these marshmallow-soft nuggets of deliciousness are absolutely killer. The combination of flavors; toasty - yet soft and chewy, zesty, and tangy delights are superb, by any standard. Enough for 2-3 diners. For entrees, my wife ordered the Wheatly Burger & fries. Partly placed in n the mood by the Pepperoni Rolls, I went for the Calzone Supreme. First, let's discuss the Wheatly Burger. Proudly served on a potato roll with grilled onions, cheese, lettuce, and pickles, this burger is top flight! No question. Juicy and flavorful. Fries were crispy - perfecto! However, the showstopper was the calzone. Off the chart! Calzones are not commonly seen on Wichita menus. I've had a few here; all were less than noteworthy. But this calzone was my friend, VERY GOOD FRIEND! Check out the attached photo. These dudes are monsters, and OMG tasty - beyond belief. Succulent marinara on the side. Check the attached menu photo for a detailed description. Peppers, sausage, mozzarella, onions, mushrooms, etc. You get the picture. Italians would be proud. Wanted to consume all of it, but it was too much. Box please! I am throwing down a hard recommendation for Wichita's casual diners. Take a little trip to tasty-town. Check out the food at Social Tap, WSU. This place is a sleeper. Definitely on my 'go-back' list. PS - Hat's off to Erik, our server. This cat plays way over the rim, for sure!

Great selection of beer on tap and they had fast quick reliable service. I didn't get a chance to try the food, but I have had the pizza right around the corner in the same building and it was very good and yes, I would go there again nice atmosphere.

We live in Dallas but eat at Social Tap every time we are in Wichita which is often. Last night I had the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. It was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. The crust was perfect and the taste was delicious! I'm going to be looking forward to my next visit there! The ambience is great. They had the garage door open and it was a beautiful afternoon. A cold beer was the perfect accompaniment!

Came here twice in one day since we were staying nearby. First was for lunch. Had a tasty pizza and a beer and shared a salad. Had an attentive server and the manager came by to check on us too. Then we went back later in the afternoon for drinks and sat at the bar. They have a full bar with great cocktails and also a nice selection of sours. The manager was also helping out at the bar. We had a great time chatting and hanging out with other bar-goers. But we really enjoyed the manager, Adler. She was awesome! She took control of that place and was friendly and knew everyone. I was calling her "The Mayor". We will definitely be back soon to hang out!

Service is friendly. Food is good but I got turned off yesterday when I picked up my food to go. The bar counter was disgusting. The entire counter was filled with crumbs, food and spilled drinks - it was filthy. Does management not require these kids to wipe the bar and keep things tidy? The employees either have blinders on or just didn't care. Also I saw an employee refill his drink using the soda spigot and it was toucing the rim of his used glass, a health code violation. Dirty used glasses should not be refilled using the soda gun. Serious lack of professionalism keeps this from being five stars.

New addition and much needed for the East side of Wichita. I hate to say it but, I don't have to go into town at toe brewery for a good burger cause they have it right up the street for me here at social tap. The staff keeps this location extremely clean. The food was great and the drinks were delicious. I will say pay attention to your bill cause I for sure went over my budget here but it was worth it. Bartender and waitress were warm and welcoming and took the extra mile in explaining things and recommending drinks. Came here for Super Bowl and really enjoyed myself.

Service is inconsistent every time I come. It's either overbearing to where I'm asked how I'm doing every 5 minutes by a different person or finally someone coming over 15 minutes later to welcome me and then getting my drink another 15 minutes later and then no one coming by to take my food order so I do it online so I don't have to wait anymore. It was my favorite stop before I head to the campus library to study but I think I might try a different place. Food is ok, nothing I would miss if I did not go anymore.

The standard bar burger is The Wheatley (the KSU Wheatleys...duh) which is expertly prepared and served with lettuce, pickle, Wheatley sauce, etc. Nice double patty 1/3 lb.. Fries are superb, peppered and crispy crinkle cut, my fav. Service attentive, polite and quick at lunchtime on a Saturday. New building with wide open spaces, Foosball table, board games, etc. Nice ambiance and subtle contemporary music. Outdoor seating available. Beer flight selection is good.

Great food, hamburger was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Portions are spot on! Clean, friendly wait staff. Manager very hands on helping the wait staff. Would go back again!

We had a large group. The WSU location took our reservation. As most of us don't do the QR code, we asked for a waitress and menus. They were VERY accomodating. The food was delicious and the serve was GREAT! We had a very pleasant time. Thank you!!

Interesting concept. When they say "tap in" you literally tap in using the QR code at your table. From there they send you a link to your phone which directs you to their menu. You order and pay directly from your phone. This begs the question of, "why tip of all the staff does is bring my food?" Service was friendly but the experience is a little impersonal. This likely won't appeal to the older generations, but since it's located essentially on the University campus it will likely do fine. Social tap appears to be the combination of three businesses, Social Tap the bar, Wheatley's Burgers and Sungrano pizza. My wife ordered the backyard burger and I went with the 12" pepperoni pizza. Both were good, not great. My wife was not thrilled they put pepper on her French fries, which made them inedible for her as she's not a pepper fan. I must have missed that on the menu. Overall a nice atmosphere and a decent place for us if we want a burger and very little interaction with staff.

We' really enjoyed the food even though it does have a limited menu. But we would highly recommend the calzone and definitely the Nutella clouded. There are quite a few of the pillows and a server said it is not unusual for people not to eat them all because they are so decadent. We did not have that problem!

They were really good ! I went there and they had games in the corner and it was a nice quiet place !

This is a great hangout spot with lots of seating and big screen to watch games. The patio area is nice, too. The whole place has a nice bright and airy feel. It's easy to order drinks and food through their app. I like how they have seasonal drinks. For food, right now they just have Sungrano Pizza. We like their pizza but our group misses Wheatly's which is no longer there (burgers, hotdogs, and the best corn dogs!). Hopefully a new place will open in their spot so we can try more food!

In between Tannyrs shooting competitions we stopped at a new place and I absolutely loved the concept of it! Social Tap - Tap In Hang Out The bar features roughly 50 taps inside with over a quarter of them being local Kansas beers. Now I will tell you this is a sports bar with a limited, but great food menu and the way you order is a little bit different. Everything is done from your phone. You scan the QR code at your table, order and pay for your beer and food, then you will receive a notification when it's ready and a server will bring it out to you. To those of you who have been to Old School Tap House & Social, it's a similar concept. There are other ways to order drinks if you don't have a smartphone, but that's mainly how it's done. It was very open and you can even sit outside with their big spacious patio. Lots of big screen TV's. Clean restaurant and the best staff. Always willing to help and give you their favorite beer names and food if you need some help. We will definitely be back. Jon loved it and also loved that I took care of everything because he is old school and likes to order from a menu but Tannyr and I are helping him into the 21st century. Go and check this place out. Wonderful patio and amazing pizza! Loved that they had board games for the kids to play. The patio had a great view of the pond and was large. We had a group of 30 people and we all got drinks and food quickly. Fried pickles with Chile ranch were delicious. Got a pizza with green chiles! So good! Even the cheese and pepperoni pizza was better than most pizza restaurants. Will go back when we return to Wichita!

Really good drink specials and they have games to promote actually spending time with your group instead of being on your phone. Got the cherry limeade 3 dollar special and didn't love the flavor but it did the job. Pizza again was good but nothing to write home about. Loved the flavored margaritas!

Was not impressed. Both pizzas we ordered were way greasy. The entire time there no one refill my water at all.

This place was a great dinning experience. 2 adults 2 kids (1&11) everyone found something we liked to eat and drink. Outside area for the little kid to run around. Easy to order and pay. We had been driving all day from vacation and stayed at the Hyatt and it was so easy to just turn the corner and grab dinner..

A great place to spend an evening with friends. The pizza is great, and the beer is cold. Wait staff is friendly and the trivia on Monday nights is awesome!

Five stars for the patio experience and the pizza. 1 star for the stupid phone ordering system that leaves you facedown in your phone instead of face up socializing. Physical menus don't match information on the phone app which made it a bit challenging ordering for multiple people. For the food prices the service should be a given. For a place that promotes itself as a place to socialize we found it to be the opposite.

Service was AWESOME! Great brewery beer choices, even cocktails. GREAT pizza's, but burger's not so much. They need to MAJORLY beef up their burger meat, wafer thin and more Wheatly's sauce. Will go back tho.

the servers there were so nice and the vibe was lowkey and omg y'all wheatly's burgers????? BUSSIN their onion rings???? SUPER BUSSIN‍ definitely coming back

Neat place to go have a drink with friends. Little odd to have to go across the parking lot to get your food but it was good.
