Let me start with the positives: free parking in the back, lots of outdoor seating, and friendly staff. I've brought friends and had good times here, and never had to wait too long for food, even when it was super packed with line out the door.
I don't know if today was an off day or what, but there was no support from staff, poor communication and no effort made to right a wrong. Long story short, we waited over half an hour for two dishes. We asked the cashier after 20 minutes what was taking so long and all he said was that it was being made. No explanation, no it'll be ready soon, nothing. The restaurant was not full, it didn't make sense that pancakes were taking so long unless our order was forgotten about. So we waited. Until it got to be too ridiculous and we asked to cancel the order. That's when someone finally came out with the food and when we told him we wanted to cancel, he said ok and walked away. And so we waited again. Did they not need us to issue a refund? Could we just go? No, we had to flag down another worker to get it canceled. Finally. But looking at the receipt, we saw that the tip didn't get refunded. We inquired about it and he said that couldn't be refunded so he comped one of our drinks. That's fine but had we not checked, we wouldn't have known that cause he didn't mention that part and that's an important thing to omit when asking for a refund. The lack of competence here left us flabbergasted-like I said, it's not normally this bad but today's experience left us not wanting to return.
