Where to Grab Pizza by the Slice in and Around Portland

"Portland’s pizza renaissance spilled over to Beaverton in 2021 with the opening of Society Pie. Corporate drop-outs Josh and Stacey Kearney bring an emphasis on simple, classically constructed pies and community ties — they support a number of neighborhood charitable initiatives and their website offers a path to a free meal for those in tough economic straits. The flavorful crust has an airy chew, a foundation for tastefully balanced mozzarella, slightly herbaceous sauce, and toppings. Slice options include cheese, pepperoni, veggie (not vegan), Hawaiian, and supreme. The brightly lit dining area is a bit spare with only a few tables, but is serviceable for a quick slice." - Nathan Williams

Yelp
We get their pizzas delivered! Great pizza and a great price! We def recommend their delivery!

Yelp
I've met the owner in the past and he's an awesome dude. It obviously trickles down to his employees because they are nice and work with you with coupons, gift cards, etc. no attitude whatsoever. Oh, and the pizza is da schizzle. A couple years back they put out the Peace, Love & Parm and now it's on the menu. It is an awesome pizza. My wife likes the Sweet N' Spicy. Anywho, I highly recommend.

Yelp
Wow I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. I love sizzle pie. Everything is good here and I generally have to have more self restraint than I would like to not eat the entire dang pizza. I'm also just right around the corner so its very easy to just stop in and get take out. The one time they ever messed up our order (which was a pretty honest misunderstanding when ordering) I called back and they refunded us the entire thing. We took that money and went right back the next week. I'm very grateful to have a pizza place like this in the neighborhood. As for the interior, I've never actually eaten here because we live so close but its a pretty typical pizza place. I'm sure eating there is a normal experience.

Yelp
I love this place. They are kind and the pizza is great. I'm in love with the crust. Sometimes the hours aren't ideal and they close on holiday weekends but they will make you a pizza close to closing off the oven is still on. I like to get their Hawaiian pizza which I know is a debate among pizza lovers but this is too yummy. They are always playing good tunes and they have a game on usually and on their second TV they always have Bob Ross playing.

Yelp
This place is reminiscent of the pizza shop I worked at in high school, and I love it! They have great specialty pie options, and they offer Follow Your Heart dairy-free cheese, which is my favorite. We really appreciate how close this spot is to us, and the price is fair given the more artisan qualities of the pizza. They also have a rewards program, which is a nice bonus!

Yelp
I'm so happy I finally tried this place. It is my favorite near me. Ingredients are good quality and it is always delicious. I hate when people cheap out on ingredients. It makes such a difference. I love their little pepperonis. I normally don't eat the crust on pizza because it never seems worth it but this crust I love. My dogs are a little pissed because they get a lot less crust bites with this pizza.

Yelp
Great little spot. I came here for Pizza Week 2024 with a friend. After a disappointing foray downtown, this was a refreshing stop-in after work. It got busy really quick, but that didn't phase the staff one bit. The Pizza Week offering was really yummy. I can hardly wait to try what else they've got. Whether it's by the slice or a whole pie, make sure to consider stopping by when your pizza craving kicks in.

Yelp
pepperoni pizza: presentation of the zza reminds me of costco pizza but defintely has its taste of its own. I happened to like the zza more as left overs service: fast, despite not ordering ahead it only took about 15 minutes for our pizza and garlic bread bites to be done garlic bites - fuego Insides was clean -- I liked the fact that they had some games to pass time

Yelp
Really nice folks, great handmade pizza, salads, and a few local beers on tap and in cans. It's a small dining space but they also prepare food to go in compostable containers. They serve by the slice during lunch and you have three sizes of whole pies to choose from for the supper menu. Parking is available in the attached lot.

Yelp
Amazing crust veggie pizza. Excellent very fresh. Paired with nonalcoholic beer. Friendly, helpful staff.

Yelp
I consider myself a pizza aficionado. I've eaten pizza all over America and was sure this pizza place by the hotel would be ehhhh... if that. It was delicious! Flavorful and the pepperoni was yum and they carry Pepsi products which sealed the deal

Yelp
This pizza is always fresh and ready on time! Excellent customer service and ordering system.

Yelp
We love the Tanasbourne location, it's closer to us. But gotta write one for the Beaverton location too! In general we love Society Pie, we actually think it's the pizza in the Hillsboro/Beaverton area. We have Society Pie at least 3 times a month. The menu is not extensive but what they do with pizza, they do really well. The crust has the best chew! Our favorite is the bbq chicken pizza - get this pie! This evening I fudged up with my order, placing it online for the wrong location, I called them and it was no issue - the guy I spoke with was super nice about it and said he'd take care of it from there and would get it sorted with the other location. Just goes to show that these small 'Mom & Pop' places just GET IT. Felt so appreciative it encouraged me to finally write this.

Yelp
Slices, nice variety for lunch. The Pie is delicious, nice people and the service is always spot on. They usually have a couple good brews on draft too. Recommended.

Yelp
Great pizza, yummy salads, friendly service. It's our regular go-to now. Banana peppers are my favorite topping but rare, so it's a real win.

Yelp
first time here and came for pizza week. glad i came here because the pizza was delicious. food came out fast. crust was the perfect soft yet crispy. definitely will come back to try other things on their menu!

Yelp
We had a hankering for pizza, obviously, and this place was semi down the road. So we decided to check it out. Customer service was abysmal. Like not even a hello when we called to order or walked in to pick up our pizza. That's the only reason for a four not a five. We ordered the Feta's Betta. We ordered a large thinking we'd finish off the whole thing and may still be hungry. It was massive! Our family of four each had two humongous slices and were satisfied. The pizza was tasty too. We loved it. We also ordered the garlic knots but we wouldn't get those again. They were just okay. We'll definitely try another pizza from Society, but we do hope for a friendly hello or some kind of acknowledgment next time. :)

Danielle J.

Yelp
This pizza is AMAZING! Fresh ingredients, good dough..just an overall tasty and wonderful pizza. Their extra large pizza is huge and can feed many for parties. Excellent team, and they take pride in making the pizza's. More people should try Society Pie! It's hard to find good pizza like this in Beaverton. They also are serviced by Door Dash, which is convenient!

Yelp
Loved the pizza here! We've been popping around multiple pizza spots in the SW Portland area and this spot was just straight up no bull. Pepperoni Pizza. The big pepperoni slices are a must. The sauce is the solid balance of sweet and acidity. The cost is great too! Ignore the review about it being too expensive. Not bad at all for an XL pizza that lasts two meals for a couple. Also the garlic knots are simple but delicious. Also the employees there were super nice and helpful.

Carson C.

Yelp
My favorite kind of pizza. Pepperoni kills it. I also really like the vibe inside with all the plants and sports memorabilia.

Yelp
So this review is for the new Hillsboro location. Formerly Extreme Pizza. I couldn't find the new location in Yelp since it just opened. My wife and I tried a round and a Sicilian style pizza. We really enjoyed the round pizza (just pepperoni and jalapeños), but we felt the Sicilian (Supreme) could have used a little more sauce to counteract the thick crust. We are not big fans of thick pizza to begin with, but we wanted to try it to see if it would change our minds. The atmosphere is good compared to the former restaurant, and it's clean and well lit. Staff was very accommodating as well. Only two types of beer on tap, which is fine - just need to check the carbonation on the tap. It seemed a little "flat".

Yelp
I ordered a veggie plus artichoke. The crust is perfection. Plenty of veggies, good amount of cheese... however, I expected more artichoke for the add-on price. I also expected a little more flavor. Maybe it was the low amount of sauce? Delivery was courteous and prompt. Mostly good, would order again, but I have had better.
google avatar

Debbie L.

Yelp
Better than most pizzas in Portland. We will definitely order from them again. I just wish the delivery charge wasn't so high. But the pizza is very good!
google avatar

Gracie P.

Yelp
Sweet friendly staff, yummy pizza. What more could you ask for? Oh wait! Gluten free pizza that actually tastes good.

Yelp
Was really craving pizza and decided to check society pie out. Was drew in by the puffy looking crust and I was not disappointed. The crust was soft and bouncy, full of deliciousness. The pizza sauce was well flavored and although the pizza is on the soft side, it was so tasty I gobbled it down all to quick that I scrubbed the top of my mouth. Was in pain but it's all good now. The caveat: the pizza part was very thin and so my bf and I were glad we got an 18" because a 14" would leave us both hungry. We finished the 18". It was quite expensive because you have to pay for each topping so our plain pepperoni and pineapple pizza was like $26. Otherwise this is a great place for pizza. They sell pizza by the slice for lunch! Highly recommend.

Yelp
I guess it was suggestion that led me hear. I see it all the time at the top of the suggestions. So why not try. I hope they don't take this as an insult but I would describe the pizza as food court style. The crust is nice and chewy but not super interesting. I'd rate this as the kind of pizza you enjoy with some friends watching the game or something. I'm not going out of my way to get it but it tastes good. Given that I know what I can get a similar product for at my local warehouse club food court it gives me pause to pay $11 for the two slice combo. If I went to a party and they were serving this I'd be down. But probably not seek it out on my own.

Yelp
This was our third time having Society Pie, and it was just as good as the first two times. We wanted a quick dinner that we wouldn't have to cook, and the order-and-pick-up process was quick and easy, and we had the pizza back home within 40 minutes. We loved the generous amount of toppings on the pizza. It was fresh and tasty, and we'll definitely be going back next time we have a pizza craving.

Yelp
If you like "flimsy", "soft", ""spongy doe" pizza then this is the place for you. It's nothing special to me at all. In fact heavy on my gut! . The menu has no creativity, be ready to state what toppings you like. The supreme is ok. I wouldn't order it again Be aware if you order your pizza for pick up that you will be asked to pay a tip just for buying the pizza. To think I could have had it delivered for same price Sorry nothing I really liked about the whole experience I appreciate family owned business, however I don't leave fake reviews just because... it's family owned People follow me and I follow them and honesty is very important. I recommend you also offer a thinner crispy crust sir. Nobody likes a pizza that tastes like it's not done

Yelp
Local family owned restaurant that opened during the pandemic, also representing the Westside for Portland Pizza week this year I was welcomed and greeted, open space and simple, clear menu (easy to read) with drinks available as well. The special for Portland pizza week is a pesto base with mozzarella, mushrooms, then topped with local microgreens (from le petit jardin in Cornelius) and feta. I ended up getting the special and was told if I wanted to wait for pepperoni, one was coming out in a few minutes. The feta and geeens add texture and saltiness to the hot pizza, pesto was great! Wish there was more mushrooms and at $2, it's a deal!!! I also got small order of garlic knots too (6pc), choice of ranch or pizza sauce. Opted for ranch and a small Caesar salad as well. My name was asked and order came quick. The pizza had a great bottom where it was crisp and not soggy, the crust was perfect! Chewy and not hard, went well with the sides. Wish there was more garlic flavor for the knots and the salad had actual Parmesan shavings and a large amount of croutons too compared to other places. Service was great, even when dining outside the owner came out to check in and was thanked for coming in. Two young employees working hard, one making pizzas and the other at the front counter. I definitely want to try more pizzas as well as the sweet knots, also they deliver so another plus! So happy to have found this spot

Margaret S.

Yelp
I tried Society Pie for the first time last week. Delicious! I picked up a plain cheese (my acid test for a pizzeria) on my way to a friend's house for a potluck. Everyone who tried a slice said "this is good pizza ".

Mitchell M.

Yelp
Definitely my favorite pizza place in the area. Crust is light and fluffy, toppings are fresh and the service is always super friendly.
google avatar

Rene R.

Yelp
The same thing about all the food places, the prices going up, imagine paying $70 for 2 pizzas and a salad it didn't even have caviar, Don't worry, if they ask me for a comment, I give it good or bad, I gave this one how I felt about paying what I paid now by not visiting your business, good luck...
google avatar

Yelp
3.8 stars = Pretty good. New York-style pizza. Got a supreme with pepperoni, sausage, olives, and mushrooms. Good amount of toppings -- could taste each of them and they all had good flavor. Crust had good texture. Also got their garlic knots. I always hope for more garlic flavor than I get with this sort of dish, but aside from that, they were well-made -- buttery with good texture. Wouldn't go out of my way for Society Pie, but would be glad to have it again if I was in the area. Visited on 3/2/23.

Yelp
Anemic sauce on really good, chewy if a bit thin crust but what made this my first and last visit was ridiculously short hand washing routine by the workers. The employee that entered my order turned to the sink and did, at best, a 4 second hand wash and just before my pizza was done, another employee did a whopping 5 second hand wash. You think we don't notice while we're sitting waiting for our orders, but we sure do. Hard pass on this place. There's enough crap going around this time of year, we don't deserve this haphazard approach to simple cleanliness.

Yelp
I hate to share my secret, but I love this place and am a regular. Solid pizza, great garlic knots and cinnamon knots and somewhere I frequent more than I would like to admit. Love it!

Yelp
Great small business with fantastic pizza. Love the family feel and the fun discounts they offer ($3 off for good dad jokes). Society Pie is our new go-to pizza place!!

Yelp
We love Society Pie. It's our go-to! We live in Tigard and pass up all pizza spots to go to Society. The whole family agrees on how tasty it is and the staff is always lovely. We like dining in bc it's got such a comfy home vibe. Also really happy to report back from my last review that they're no longer using paper plates! Super exciting! Hope that's working out for everyone. Get the garlic knots always!

Yelp
I popped into Society Pie and all the staff were like angels that fell from the sky. Super nice and super friendly. The secret to a good pie is the dough. Society Pie has it right. I had a simple slice and a beer and I couldn't think of another thing on the planet. It was as close to perfection. Cute little dining area, looks like they do a lot of takeout , and I will definitely be returning when I'm in the area. Don't pass it up.

Yelp
I like big pies and I cannot lie. The size of their pies was one of the most enticing part about them, as well as how generous they're with their toppings. Two slices can make a plentiful meal. Their sauce was tasty, not overly strong letting the other ingredients shine. I also appreciated their softer dough and tasty crust. The best one so far from me is the Hawaiian. Sweet pineapples cut the slightly salty but delicious ham perfectly. The Veggie pie was also decent just lacking a bit of flavors, maybe some seasoning or cooking of the veggies themselves would help. All in all, a decent spot for impressive looking pies.

Yelp
Superb pizza. I ordered it for game night. We rotate locations, and the next time we met up the host had ordered it because he liked it so much better than his usual pizza place!
google avatar

Freeland S.

Yelp
Excellent pizza and staff. I come here about once a week, the whole family loves it. They're always great but recently they went above and beyond -- it was my daughter's birthday and they drew balloons, butterflies, and cute birthday messages all over a box of sweet knots for her. Emmy and all the girls who work here are so nice. Keep being awesome SP!

Matt C.

Yelp
New York style pizza, but a tiny bit sweet. I like to fold my slice when I get their lunch special.

Nate E.

Yelp
Finally some pizza in the suburbs that is worth ordering. As close to pizza from home (NY) as I have had out in Portland. Just really good pizza
google avatar

Amber A.

Yelp
Delicious! Friendly staff, table tiki toss! Really hit the spot. I built my own and made pesto base, artichoke, red onion, chicken, mushrooms :-) Next time I'll add garlic too Feedback: Would love to see metal utensils when eating in-house. Let's get out of this plastic mess one fork at a time ;-)
google avatar

Bryon L.

Yelp
Everything was good and Josh was awsome sharing about the restaurant. He asked if we wanted the whole background or no. I was curious and wanted to hear the pitch. The dough for the pizza was outstanding! The garlic knots were just as good becuase of the dough. The marinara was perfect. Not overwhelming with seasoning and a good balance of flavor. They serve a good compliment of drinks for anyone (soda, beer, wine, etc). The only thing keeping it from 5 stars was the pizza was slightly underdone by a tiny bit. Not enough to stop anyone but just enough to notice. Hard balance though becuase the end was a perfect bread stick. Soft and steamy with a solid outside. I'll be back for sure either way.
google avatar

Yelp
Pizza. So hot right now. This pizza is pretty hot. So hot it sells out around 5 or 6pm. Definitely call ahead to reserve your pizza. I don't blame them, it makes sense during these weird fun times so there's minimal food waste. Plus they are a small family owned business, which I can totally get behind. In a strip mall with chain food, this is a standout. Their crust has good chew, good crisp, foldable like a boss. The pizza week pizza satisfied our group of veggies, meat eaters and everyone in between. The microgeens added a nice little spicy touch. One thing I'd say is for them to add more sound absorbing decorations when things are back to normal for the dine-in crowd. It was echo-y and industrial when we went to pickup.
google avatar

Aric A.

Yelp
Really good pizza, knots and salad! For those of you comparing it to NY pizza, please stop. It's not true and you know it. You can't have NYC pizza without being in NYC because it's all about the water. With that being said Society Pie is GREAT! Couple tips: 1. Order your pie well done 2. Ask for extra lemon wedges in the Caesar. 3. Ask for your Alfredo's sauce to be warmed. This will definitely be our go to pizza choice from now on!
google avatar

Tabitha H.

Yelp
This is officially one of my favorite pizza places! There is no other place like this one on this side of town, I have lived in Beaverton for awhile now and have tried them all! My husbands family is from NY and so they are super picky about pizza, but I convinced him to try it since it was new in the area and the owners really seem to know what they are doing.. he agreed and he loved every bite of it!! Reasonable prices, obviously fresh and high quality ingredients - you really can taste the difference in their dough. And the salad portions are fantastic! Service is prompt and delivery was right on time!! We will definitely be ordering again and would highly recommend because I want them to stay in business!! Thank you guys for existing, we need pizza people like you!! xo

Susan H.

Yelp
Finally found a pizza place that we love. It's taken 10 years but Society Pie is it! I love the weekly text coupons too.
