"Chain pizza dominates the suburbs, but Josh and Stacey Kearney have been offering a better option since opening Society Pie in 2021, with locations in Beaverton and Tanasbourne. The flavorful, airy crust, herbaceous sauce, and ample cheese is a solid foundation for both the flat medium and smaller cup-and-char Roma pepperonis, both free of added nitrates. Visitors can find foldable slices at Society Pie most days, with Mondays and Tuesdays bringing deeper square pan pizzas to the Tanasbourne location." - Nathan Williams

A quaint little pizza place with "Where's Waldo" pages under glass at the tables. The music playing wasn't too loud either. The big test was our two year old who is a pizza snob. She doesn't care for acidic or garlicky pizza. She DEVOURED an entire slice of cheese pizza. The sauce was a sweeter kind and it was a chewy NY style slice. We also ordered sweet knots (which came with some liquid gold frosting to dip in) and some sweet hot pizza - which was on their square pan pizza that they made up for us special since it wasn't in the front window with the other slices... The Pepperoni's on it were cup pepperoni (+1 star for this alone) and the jalapenos were nicely roasted. Pepsi products on tap (which means Starry and Mug root beer on tap). We'll be back!

I am so happy that my favorite Society Pie has a second location near my house.🥰 The dough is totally different from other pizzas. The outside is crispy and when you bite into it, the inside is soft and chewy, so good that I have no interest in other pizza restaurants anymore 🤤 I love that I can choose my own toppings and sauces. I would definitely eat here again when I'm in the mood for pizza.🍕 11/29/2023 This time we had the Caesar salad and the 14-inch Supreme pizza. We sometimes go to other pizza places that have good reputations, but the pizza here is still outstanding and unrivaled.😊👍 The prices are reasonable, but the taste is top-notch and excellent.🍕🥰 12/09/2023 My husband brought me a pizza takeout because I was feeling under the weather. I wanted to eat pesto sauce, so I got a “Build Your Own Pie” this time.🍕 04/02/2025 (Wed) Feta's Betta (18" $32), Garlic Knots ($5.50), Caesar Salad ($8.50) Soda ($2.50)

Just happened to drive by this place and decided to give it a try. The pizza crust had great flavor, the sauce was good and the topping were very fair. I'm giving 4 starts because the peppers and onions were so thick that they weren't cooked, and because the cheese wasn't all the way melted on top either. Probably needed 3-5 more minutes in the oven. I would definitely order from here again just not the same pizza. The garlic knots were very good , ranch dressing was nasty.

I was a chef for 17 years, and spent more than a few years running places that sold a lot of pizza. I was supremely impressed by not only Society Pies flavor, but their attention to details like perfect topping distribution! If that wasn’t enough, I saw the message on the bottom of the website and decided to share it with my local charity network. Not only will my network be spreading the word and have some events at Society Pie, but they will certainly become lifelong customers. I even was able to speak with the owner when I was picking up my order and thank him for the great work they are doing.

Google
My favorite pizza and Josh who runs the register is always kind and you can tell he’s about his pizza! I got $3 off for telling a Dad joke. So it’s a pretty great place. Chillax vibes 10/10 recommend

Google
Great Pizza. Staff are awesome. Atmosphere fun. Would be a 5 but $9 for a small salad? Will definitely be back. Adding this to our regular rotation.

Google
DELICIOUS 🏅 Their pizza really hit the spot today- Society pie has pizza by the slice. We grabbed two slices of pepperoni for the drive home and it was delicious. The slices of pizza are huge and I love the spiciness of the pepperoni. Josh was manning the store alone and was doing a great job. He was even very friendly and asked us how her day was going. Our order took less than five minutes and we were on our way. We are very pleased and have no complaints. The store is actually really cute and There’s a foosball table as well. The store is not very big, but it is cozy. I checked out prices on their full pies and this is a pretty affordable place. I will probably stop by again and try one of their Hawaiian pizzas : ) and their outside seating.

Google
The pizza is great, the prices are reasonable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had the cheese pizza and the Peace, Love, & Parm. Both were well-made with a crisp, chewy crust and quality toppings. Loved it!

Yelp
Went here for a quick bite between errands and I'm so happy I did. Crust was thin, but not too thin. Softer doughy ends, but not soggy. Good sauce, very tasty pepperoni. Overall great pizza!

Yelp
So glad we ventured out of our regular pizza spots and found Society Pie! We came right when they opened at 11am and dined in with 2 adults and a toddler. Walking in it gave off a lounge-y/sports bar vibe at first (with the big chairs right by the door, the tv on, and the foosball table) however, but I was pleasantly surprised to find some intentional decor and humor setting the mood. I really appreciate the sense of humor. For example, the menu said "get $3 off if you tell us a dad joke" and the drink menu with "a glass of cheap wine for $5" My toddler was of course fascinated by the little toy claw machine and there was a little mouse door - she screamed of joy when she found the decal on the wall by our table. What a nice homey touch! You order at the counter and sit down, they will bring your food to your table , but you have to bus it after. We got the Greek salad to share, which was fresh and with plenty of feta cheese. We ordered the 14 inch 1/2 Feta Betta (pesto, chicken, feta, mushroom) and 1/2 Sweet and Spicy (pepperoni, pineapple, jalapeño) and it was a great variety to try their specialty pizzas. We both had 2-3 slices each and were happy to take the rest home to enjoy later. It got pretty busy during lunch time with lots of people ordering slices and the slice deals which is a great deal for lunch! We will be adding this to the list of favorite pizza spot. Please come support this local fun business with good food and fun vibes!

Yelp
I was the first one to review this place for you and thought it was amazing. It makes me sad to write this review. Tonight's experience was hopefully just an off night. The pizza was not hot in the middle, and the bottom is undercooked and shoggy. I thought about ask for it to be cooked more but the staff seems busy and a bit overwhelmed.

dave H.

Yelp
Not a pizza or 5 star kinda guy but here we are, aren't we? I had a medium combo with less cheese, and my spouse had a gluten free version of the same. Both were cooked well and were tasty. I eat pizza about every 3-5 years. (Yup) so when I'm looking for a pie I'm kinda picky. My better half is gluten free so there is that too. Service was good, and I took it to go so I cannot comment on ambiance but it seemed clean and nice. If you're thinking pizza, you can't go wrong here IMHO.

Eric M.

Yelp
Great service, great pizza, but please take the music volume down a couple of notches. I could barely carry on a conversation while having lunch, it basically drove us out.

Janet M.

Yelp
I had terrible pizza cravings all week, so when my cancer minion offered dinner after taking me to yet another effing doctor appointment we decided to try this. It comes highly recommended and just won some big local award. There is a kinda new outpost near us in Tanasborne. So, ok. The lady on the phone was very nice and our pizza was ready for pick up on time. I didn't go in but minion said inside it was nice, noting "they are trying to be trendy Portland." We took it to minon's house and watched She Hulk ( side note I love love Tatiana Maslany from Orphan Black and she is a good She Hulk) while we ate. Verdict? It was ok pizza. I can tell the toppings/ ingredients are good. We got a Hawaiian and a Feta/chicken/mushroom/pesto and a side Caesar salad. The crust was good. The Caesar dressing was good, mild - meaning not very lemony or garlicy. The sauce and pesto were both a little bland. So overall everything was fine. It was not very cheesey or greasy or indulgent. It felt healthy. There was no desire to overeat it. I guess that's good right? We both had a couple pieces and my adult child inhaled the rest later and next day. I had another pesto slice for lunch the next day and I will admit I threw more cheese on it. Looking at other people's photos I do not think our pizzas had as much Canadian bacon or feta. But these are tough times I s'pose. I don't know if I would go back. It was good but not great for the price ( two pizzas and a small salad for $50 plus tip). I do admit the crust was good and there was no sogginess like other people have mentioned so they fixed that. If you go maybe try pepperoni or sausage to amp up the flavor profile ( minion doesn't eat those). Still looking for a great west side pizza.

Darren O.

Yelp
Our first time here. Overall a really good pizza. For comparison only- the crust is similar to Schmizza- but doesn't seem like a copycat. We got an 18 inch pie with half Supreme with no olives and half pepperoni. Both really tasty. This may sound weird but there was almost to many toppings on the Supreme- but enjoyed it. Well definitely be back- really good place!

Rachel S.

Yelp
For the food we got, the price was amazing! The people were amazing! And the place had such a fun vibe! I definitely will be back! This place was such a fun vibe!

Jonathan C.

Yelp
Smaller locally owned pizza shop. I got the lunch special awhile back many times and ordered take out. The pizzas are very delicious. The lunch special was amazing, not sure if it still offered, but a small pizza and drink was awesome. We've ordered large pizzas as well and they high quality and very yummy. Value 5/5 lunch deals Value 3.5/5 for Xlarge pizza Taste 5/5

Yelp
Society Pie ranks at a 2 because I am hungry. Brought it 5 minutes to my hotel and am sorely disappointed. Cold, thin, sparse ingredients that look nothing like what is pictured online. If I didn't get it to go I would've either asked for a refund or remake the pizza to look like what is pictured. I'm hard pressed to have anyone go eat here u less they had a really bad day or completely ran out of ingredients. I recommend trying somewhere else. Not sure how they had received good reviews?

Amit S.

Yelp
Consistently good pizza that we have ordered take out for the past year or so. I like mine with extra red sauce. As we do take out, it helps to put it in an air fryer for a couple of minutes to regain the temp and add some crispness to the crust.

Shane W.

Yelp
Delicious pizza here at society pie, we can why it's so highly regarded. The ingredients all tasted top quality and were combined in just the right proportions.

John C.

Yelp
If you haven't tried society pie yet you are missing out. It is Barun one of the best pizzas in the area. No, it's not one of the best. It is the best friendly people. Great service. Excellent pizza does get any better order now!

Michael H.

Yelp
3.5 stars. I've been hearing about this place from a friend so tonight we tried it. Delivery took about 2 hours so if I order again I'll do pick up instead. I like that they do a multiple day fermentation on the dough and they make the sauce in house. Unfortunately it tasted like they use a conveyor oven and not a brick oven which makes a huge difference on the crust. There were no charred or crispy bits to be seen. I also thought there might be more funk to the crust because of fermentation but that wasn't the case. Pep and sausage were good quality as was the mozzarella. I might try again but only if I have an urge for pizza and don't want to travel into the city.

Jacob B.

Yelp
This place has been on my list for a while and I finally pulled the trigger. I stopped in and got lunch to go on my way back to work. I walked into the restaurant and I was like, this place is really cool. I could hang out here and eat! The decor is awesome! It's kind of hip. I ordered a slice of supreme and an order of garlic knots. It was very fresh and hot when I left. I got back to my office and couldn't wait to dig into those garlic knots! They were absolutely the best garlic knots I think I've ever had, such good garlic flavor, lots of parm, and the dough is so good! It's a little crispy on the outside but so soft and pillowy on the middle, 10/10 would recommend! The pizza I had a little issue with. It was so very greasy, and I am not kidding when I say I picked it up and the grease had soaked into the dough and made it really soggy and mushy. I took two or three bites but I couldn't eat anymore of it. I Can say, I know I ordered a slice with lots of greasy meat so I expected some grease and I understood that going in, but it was bad. I did take a bit of the crust and it was so very good, I think it might be the same dough they use for the garlic knots. Anyway, I will come back and order something different this time and update my review accordingly. I believe the owner took my order and he was very nice and helpful, and I really like that he reads the reviews on his yelp page and interacts with them. Come check this place out, it's worth it!

Yelp
The best pizza I've found so far in the Portland metro region. The crust makes the pie, is delicious and crunchy and you can smell the freshness (yeast) with every bite. The red sauce is tangy with the right level of sweetness. The ingredients are fresh and baked to perfection (crispy salami yum!). I've been in PDX three years and have actively searched for my go to pizza place without success until today. Society Pie is the best pizza I've found so far any place between Eugene and Seattle. I did not give it a five because that pizza is in El Paso, Texas (The House of Pizza). The place was welcoming and the vibe was warm and comfortable, which is a big plus. As an immigrant, I will happily bring my daughter here. I score primarily on the quality and taste of the food. 5 is for "I will travel across the country just to eat here"; 4 for "I can go every weekend"; 3 for "if you are in a hurry"; 2 for "if you are dying of hunger"; and 1 for "I rather die".

Andrew L.

Yelp
I've seen the reviews and the pictures and thought tonight would be a great date night for pizza so here we are the place is cozy and the staff very friendly and welcoming we ordered a Margherita and supreme a side salad and knots with sweet dipping sauce so much food because kids and lunch too well the knots came warm soft and delicious the salad very fresh and tasty the pizzas very fresh ingredients hot and tasty the crust/ dough a light crisp and airy fluffy texture I do believe we found our new tasty pizza joint I regret not coming here sooner and I know you're going to have just as much as a great pizza night as we did ... happy dining thanks for reading.

Yelp
Ok, I am a bit of a pizza snob and only like a good NY style. Other styles of pizza aren't pizza...period. On my way to the gym this morning I saw the Tanasbourne location out of my extremely good and effective peripheral vision. I know what you're thinking.."uh, lady, face forward and continue to the gym!" I finished my workout, went back home, and made the suggestion to try it to my wife (aka master of the house). We ordered and popped back out to get it, and I thought the place was super cute. Only a few tables, which is no big deal because most people don't eat pizza at a sit down place. The pizza was a true large 18 inch, not a 14 inch gaslighting you into thinking it's a large like the chain places. The crust was solid (although I don't eat it), and the pizza itself was beautifully thin and foldable just like grabbing a slice in NYC. It wasn't greasy at all -A+, and all of the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I was stuffed after 2 pieces, which made me happy! Why? Well, I don't eat as much as I used to (age) and then leftovers for tomorrow, duh! We will definitely be back!

Trevor S.

Yelp
Nice little family shop. Garlic knots were fantastic, so was the BBQ Chicken pizza. They'll treat you like family.

Lynette W.

Yelp
Pizza arrived room temperature- not even warm. Veggie toppings were sparse. Delivered by toast and the driver put the pizza on the door step and left- never bothering to ring the bell/knock. I got the text from toast saying "the pizza was handed to you." Nope.

Jo S.

Yelp
Got takeout service from here over the weekend. Ordered over the phone and the gentleman was very pleasant and my order was ready within 30 minutes. I got a personal pie with Alfredo sauce and red onions and an order of their sweet knots. The pizza was good: nice flavor and plenty of toppings. The reason for the 3 stars was for the knots: they were sugary but couldn't taste the cinnamon at all which was why I ordered them and the dough got hard quick so basically tossed them out. So yes I recommend them for their pizza. Love to support local businesses and the crew there all seemed quite pleasant.

Cindy A.

Yelp
Based on the 13 five star reviews for Society Pie, I was expecting to find the best pizza in Portland. But alas, everyone's taste is different and for me it was a solid four stars. We were greeted upon entering by an older man who came to the counter to take our order. He was pleasant and helpful. My friend ordered the Supreme 10" pizza while vegetarian me chose their Veggie 10" pizza. There are several predesigned pizzas to choose from or you can customize a cheese pizza with whatever toppings you like, paying extra for each topping ordered. My friend added a lot of the parmesan and red pepper flakes from the shaker bottles on the table. He enjoyed his pizza but thought the sauce base was very bland. I also thought the tomato sauce base was tasteless. It would benefit greatly from the addition of some Italian seasonings. The onion and bell pepper on the Veggie pizza were sliced in long thin strips. If they were chopped into bite sized pieces they would cover the entire pie better. The crust was good. It was not too thick and had a nice chewiness. The decor seems designed to attract young male customers. There is a TV that plays various sports programs and a foosball table that takes up valuable real estate. I guess guys like to play foosball while they eat pizza. There is also some outdoor seating available. We would return to try pizza from Society Pie again. It is good pizza that could be even better with a few adjustments.

Em B.

Yelp
This place is great! We came here on a rainy weekday and got a yummy 10" pizza and a couple drinks for a very reasonable amount of money. Service is super friendly (pretty sure one of the owners was behind the counter) and fun atmosphere. Good crust, fresh sauce and toppings! Plus I LOVE their dedication to serving the community. The board with "free" pies and drinks, etc., that other people have donated is a great idea and their "arrange to come in for a meal on us, no questions asked" policy is simply amazing. This will be our new go-to pizza spot!

Jared B.

Yelp
Really good doughy pizza and the toppings are very fresh!! They have really good puns over here and would definitely come back for a good time with the family. It is definitely worth visiting and the staff is very friendly and courteous. Count me in for another visit

Travis T.

Yelp
We ordered their Cheese Pizza Football Special which was an 18" cheese pizza and small garlic knots for $24.50. Very competitive price. It was slightly better than I expected. Borderline in my top 10 for pizza spots in Portland. Much better than the national chains, this will be a place I frequent.

E M.

Yelp
This is a great pie- A wee bit expensive, but taking into understanding that they have a high density area and an expensive monthly nut to crack, it is pretty good. Crust is lovely. I could eat another one, and likely will soon :) Thank you for taking the leap from the corporate world.

Taylor E.

Yelp
Great pizza and awesome place! Friendly staff and professional customer service. Draft beer was really good price as well! They had a sick foosball table. I didn't get a chance to play but just some info for anyone thinking of chilling and having a beer at this place. Thank you Society Pie!

Kristopher G.

Yelp
We stopped by for some lunch on a Wednesday. From the outside it's hard to tell if they are even open, but as soon as we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff. We had a 14" supreme pie and some garlic knots. All of our food was great, I'm not a huge fan of pizza but I definitely plan to return and try some of their more adventurous options, as well as see how they handle some of the classics. I would recommend giving this place a try.

MagalionJr D.

Yelp
Since venturing into this pizza perfection palace, I no longer know of any other so called pizza joints. Being a New Yorker I pride myself a pizza snob. After ordering a 18" half cheese/pepperoni pizza. I opened the the box to gaze upon the master piece, and Mama Mia that first bite put me back in NY! The marinara! Again the marinara you taste the love in it, the cheese blend, the salted cured pepperoni, perfect! Last but by far not least the crust. That dough that is used to make that deliciousness crust is amazing! Thank you! You have a forever loyal customer.

Helen P.

Yelp
Yummy pizza and great customer service! Love this place! The salads are good and now they lunch specials and pizza by the slice!

Llilith ..

Yelp
Best pizza! This is seriously good. It's the best I've found in the PDX area, and it's in Hillsboro!!! Greasy and cheesy and crispy - all the things pizza should be!!! Right up there with NY pizza!

Lori E.

Yelp
Super good local owned pizza, why go to a chain that sells gross pizza for a higher cost when you can come here and get a delicious pizza with garlic knots!!

Sara G.

Yelp
This was my first visit, and it was absolutely awesome pizza! My husband and son came for the first time last week, and they were so impressed that they wanted me to experience it. The crust is so fresh and just perfect; it's somewhat thin until you get to the crust, and then it's soft and thick. The sauce is incredible, and has just the right amount. The toppings are fresh and perfectly proportioned. I just cannot say enough good things. Also, while the restaurant is small, it has a super fun atmosphere with 90's relics, and a shelf with retro music and games to entertain you while you wait. The staff are also super friendly.

David G.

Yelp
Always great pizza! Super Friendly staff and great service. Wish they had a bigger location and better parking but always worth it.

Jaden A.

Yelp
No words can express how thankful we are to have found this place. Honestly the best pizza we have found since we've been here! We plan on becoming regulars; and definitely plan on telling everyone about them. Could not be more thankful for the kindness; and great pizza they have shown us. thank you guys so much for treating us like family.

Sarah M.

Yelp
We moved out to this area from SE Portland and our go to was always Rudy's pizza. It gave us that local pizzeria feel and authentic taste. We have not been able to find that out here until we tried Society Pie. Phenomenal. Great vibe. Great staff. Def coming back here.

Jeff ..

Yelp
I stopped by for lunch and ordered a 10" supreme pizza. I thought it was outstanding! Society Pie is definitely now my favorite place for pizza. I am not sure if the pizza was slightly undercooked, but I thought the dough may have been slightly undercooked because it was a bit doughy. Perhaps it was because of the thickness. Regardless of that, it was excellent! The sauce had great flavor and was plentiful and was the cheese. They were not skimpy with the toppings as some other places are. The only negative aspect of my visit was that I did not order the 14" size so that I could have more for later. Fantastic first experience. I will definitely be back and others should give Society Pie a try, too!

Phil P.

Yelp
The five stars that I put is for the pizza and service. The pies are really good. The crust was tasty and the topings were plentiful. The staff was very friendly (I walked in and ordered instead of calling because this was my first time here, and I wanted to see what the service was like). I also ordered the garlic knots which was good. I would give it 4.5 stars. I also ordered the dessert knots but was a little disappointed with those. If the management is looking at these reviews, I would either try and add some more cinnamon and sugar to the outside or fold some cinnamon and sugar into the middle of the knots. I would give those about 3 stars. I came here specifically for the pizza so I wasn't disappointed. Anyone reading this review should definitely try this place out. I definitely will be making this my go to spot for pies.

Nate B.

Yelp
The good thing about mediocre pizza is that it's pizza and still worth eating. The bad thing about mediocre pizza is that it's hard to say much about it.

Ebony J.

Yelp
The Pizza is great. It a quiet little place with cider beer and television. The parking lot is pretty active and there is another restaurant next door. People were hanging out a bit much for my liking.

Lori F.

Yelp
Very tasty, kind of pricey! Sauce is very good. Toppings are fresh. Crust was good, but I would prefer crispier.

Kristen S.

Yelp
We used to get pizza from the previous tenants and were bummed when we saw that they had closed. But then we were craving some pizza and I saw that a new pizza place had taken over and had good reviews so we decided to give it a try! We ordered online for pickup and tried both the supreme and the feta's betta, as well as a large order of garlic knots. The pizzas were ready at the time we requested to pick them up which was a good start! The garlic knots were soft and had great flavor. Both pizzas were a huge hit, everyone was split on which was better but in the end there was none left so I think they both won! They do the perfect amount of toppings and they give you big chunks of mushroom and meats, so you get great flavor in each bite. The crust was also outstanding! Soft and chewy, perfectly cooked! The only comment I have would be there wasn't a half/half option with online ordering so if you were trying to order that you would have to call. But we loved the pizza and will definitely order again! I would love to see them add a few more specialty pies!

Randell P.

Yelp
Started going here this spring. The pizza was the style I like, new yorkish. But it was almost never ready when they said it was. I started coming 10 minutes after the quoted time and still usually had to wait. But the final straw was when they were sold out two weekends in a row. The first weekend they did something to thier phone so it would just be busy. I had to call the other location to find out. Both were sold out and it was 7pm. The second weekend it was 6pm. Never heard of a pizza place being sold out. Response. I have always gotten my pizza at small mom and pop places except for the year I did pizza schmizza. Been eating pizza for 40+ years. Never been told "sold out". Once can happen I suppose, but at both locations, and two weekends in a row... add in the consistently wrong time estimates, thats a failure to learn from past mistakes and plan. I will add the pizza was good. No complaints there.

Savannah P.

Yelp
This is exactly the kind of pizza you wish all pizza was like. Just order the cheese, and you will be happy as a calm. Reasonably priced and extremely delicious. I will be ordering again, if not my go to pizza place.

James B.

Yelp
I am a pizza snob, and I know it. Being born in NY will do that to do a guy lol This is one of the best pizzas I've had in Portland metro, period. We have ordered several times now and every time been entirely satisfied. Highly recommend. My only beef is the lack of beef as a topping, either meatball or ground beef...but that's not enough of a quibble to take this great pizza down a star at all!

Shawn L.

Yelp
It's always a little suspect when a place says they are the best in town. This place puts out a solid pie but in my option there are quite a few better spots. The staff is nice and the pricing is fair so it's still worth a visit if your in the area.

Jen D.

Yelp
We love this place! Have never been to the store physically but have ordered for delivery quite a few times. Their crust is perfectly soft and the right chewiness. Super quality pizza!

Jim B.

Yelp
Washington County does not have very good pizza compared to Portland. This place is a solid 5 for Beaverton/Hillsboro, very good.

Tom A.

Yelp
I love pizza but seldom get one so good. Everything was great. They were very good to accommodate my alteration to the order and the pie came very quickly. This was our first visit and we were made to feel like we were regulars. Very friendly atmosphere. It was the perfect place to end a very long day on the road.

L F.

Yelp
Great gluten free option! Fantastic small biz vibe with a happy crew. So glad we found this place. We'll be back, LOTS!
