Sockerbit - Swedish Candy Store

Drove from south OC... definitely worth the hype! I went on a Sunday at around 1pm, there was no line when I entered. However, I left at around 1:10pm and went to trader joes for a quick second and by 1:30 there was a line of about 10-15 people out the door! The variety of candy is great, lots to choose from. The staff are friendly and a bunch of them were running around the tiny store picking online orders. I'm not a fan of super sweet things and have zero interest in typical american candy anymore because they just taste artificial and way too sweet. You can actually taste the fruits in the candies here and can smell the aroma of each fruit as you're chewing on them. If you love hard gummies like I do, I definitely suggest the sour raspberry bottles and mini sour fruit skulls! Bubs are great- I got the pomegranate/strawberry one. Bubs have a texture that's a middle ground between taffy(close to hi-chew), gummy, and marshmallow. Flavoring on bubs are very light, however. I also got the chocolate covered vanilla/caramel marshmallow and if you've ever had lotte's choco pies, it's similar to that except without the cake/cookie! You can really smell the aroma of the vanilla and the milk chocolate isn't unnecessarily sweet. The butterflies and foam flowers are super foamy and chewy- love them. I scrolled through their website before I stopped by so I had a good idea of what I wanted, but it would be better if they had signs for each one explaining! I kinda just guessed and it worked out but there were only signs on some of the candies so I think it would be better if there were signs on everything.

Online order here. I ordered back in early May and it took over a month for me to get my candy! Waiting that long is really baffling to me. I get that this is a “small business” but I’ve shopped at smaller stores where I didn’t have to wait this long. By the time I got the candy, I had undergone surgery so I couldn’t even enjoy it right away. I ordered three mixed bags of sweets and then a couple individual packs. The mixed bag I expected a bit more variety. I only had one single bub out of all three mixed bags. The packaging was great and the candy was fresh, but for how much I paid I expected more than one bub. Anyways, through the whole order process, be prepared to not receive any updates on what’s going on. Almost had to contact support after waiting over a month. At least give me some kind of indication that my order will get processed at some point. Would love to order again, but I think I’ll wait until they figure out how to do orders better.

We decided to drive over 50 miles to buy some candies before we received my online order 🙈(received after 3 weeks). People at the store are so friendly and helpful 🥰. We will definitely revisit once I’ve finished what I have 😋

My favorite candy store. They have so many options to choose from all the different Swedish candies. Coming from a Swedish background I have tried some of these before and was so happy to find out this place existed. At about $16 per pound it can get expensive but it’s worth it imo. I hardly ever eat candy but this is the kind I want when I do. If you’re into the traditional licorice candies they have a nice variety of those as well. The staff were also very sweet.

They need to have descriptions of their candies on the containers. It's such a hit or miss. Really poor experience, and I will never purchase from this store again. Also, beware of the salted ones. Apparently, it's customary to add an ammonia salt to this variety. The taste is horrendous.

Just got my package in the mail and the candy is great! Still tastes fresh and came well packaged! It took about 4 weeks which is what I was expecting with their notice on their website. Even emailed them and they replied quickly. Recommend them if you are looking for some Swedish candy but don’t have any stores near by!

I made an online order on April 5 for an upcoming event and online it said shipping would be 2-3 business days. About a week and a half later I emailed asking for an update on my order and I was given an estimate of 3-4 weeks. It has now been over 4 weeks and way past the event I originally ordered for and I have received no updates on my order at all. I even called a few separate times to inquire on my order and each time no one answered the phone. My experience has been ridiculous and the customer service here is terrible and you are better off ordering from an etsy shop or amazon.

SOOOOOOOOO disappointed at how long it took to get my order. When I placed the order (Mar 29) I received an email saying it would be shipped in 2-3 weeks. When I didn’t get my order after the 3rd week I contacted customer service who said they are busy and have a small staff and it will be more like 3-4 weeks. I did not receive my candy order until the 6Th week and by the time they got around to my order, they were out of some of what I had originally ordered. That is ridiculous to accept payment for something, say you will ships in 2-3 weeks and then not ship it until week 6. It’s time to stop with the folksy “we’re just a small little company with a small staff” and hire more people to fill the orders. Had it not been that this was a gift for someone (an embarrassingly late gift) I would have cancelled the order. What I can say is that I’ll never order again from them (the candy wasn’t worth the hype either) and that buyers should beware that they take waaaaay longer than they say it will to process and ship the order

Candy, Candy, and more Candy! What's not to like? First off, they have an immense selection of Swedish candy, as you would expect, but when I visited, they didn't have all the ones that my friend and I wanted from the website. That being said, staff was super friendly and was able to even get some of our selections from the back. Once you enter, grab a paper bag and start filling it with all the candy you want. It is self-scoop / serve and don't be shy if you need another bag since the candies can get pretty heavy. Once you're done, they ring you up and they charge by the pound. Interior is clean and there's a lot of foot traffic in and out when I was there. Parking can be a challenge since there's only street parking available (metered).

Looooooveeeeeee their candy. More on expensive side but imported so I guess? Love the texture of the candies and the tastes r so unique not ur standard strawberry and apple or something. Can catch it at a good time when not so busy but inventory varies on availability which is unfortunate. Friendly staff. But when busy line out door

I have been seeing Swedish candy everywhere! I finally was in the area and decided to give it a try. I will definitely be coming back soon!! There were soooo many options to choose from and the candies were all so tasty! It's also so fun trying so many different textured and flavored candy! They seemed to be limited on many bubs, as they only had flavors like pear and banana caramel. The workers were super sweet and I loved that they have clean scoopers for everyone to have their own.

Swedish candy lovers unite! I feel like I've seen so much hype around Swedish candy these days, and this is truly the best place to indulge. My boyfriend and I just happened to stumble by it, and the line wasn't too long so we hopped in. There are SO many options that I felt a little overwhelmed at first but you really just got to go for it. The place is clean and well organized, and we had a fun time just browsing around. We ended up spending I think around $10 for a small bag of candy. Quite pricey but the candies are delicious and super fun to try. I'd recommend separating the sour and the sweet candies to avoid contamination with the flavors!

I love Sockerbit! This candy is so delicious and definitely worth the trek! It doesn't leave you feeling guilty or crappy after eating it and the flavors are soo good! I love the pear bubbs and the pink and blue kitty bubbs. You serve yourself and there's plenty or tongs and scoops to go around! They sell out fast and get busy later in the day so it's better if you go early to ensure you're in and out. Staff is always friendly when I'm there and they don't make you feel bad about spending $60 on candy! I'll be back soon!

Swedish candy has taken over my entire life and I was so happy to find out there's one in LA! Definitely a good assortment to choose from although there were some that weren't restocked but given how viral this candy has become, it's understandable they'd be busier than normal. Parking is tough, I had to circle a bit to find street parking. Store is clean and small though, I'll definitely return back!

You best believe I jumped on the Swedish candy bandwagon after seeing it alllll over my FYP! Sockerbit has been around for over a decade and they're finally getting their rightful turn in the spotlight. Walking in, you're greeted by a colorful array of sweets, sours, chocolates, and more! I wouldn't say their selection is the widest (I'm sure the recent surge in popularity has something to do with this), but all the popular ones (Bubs, sour skulls, bottles, pacifiers, mushrooms, etc.) are definitely in stock. It's a self-servicing kind of shop, so everything's super customizable. Get as little or as much as you'd like. They also offer resealable bags to ensure the optimal freshness of your candy. Super cute and superrrr yummy! These top-tier candies definitely lived up to the hype in my book.

Stopped by during a day trip to LA from San Diego and had a great experience! The candy was 100/10 and definitely lived up to the hype. I appreciate that they are vegan and gelatin-free, and I think that helps the candy be so unique. In the store, the candies aren't labeled so it really is a guessing game with flavors and ingredients. One thing to note is they ship from their location so you will see candies in store that are not available for in-store purchase because they are being shipped. In this case, they had the blue and pink skulls in a bag, and the lady was kind enough to give us a few but the rest was being shipped out.

My friend wanted to check out this place and it was super cute inside!! We went on a Sunday afternoon and we were lucky because a line started to form outside as it is a small store and only a certain amount of people they allow at a time. They have lots of options of gummy candies and chocolate that you can choose from and the ones I had were yummy even though I'm not a crazy sweets person. I noticed not everything is labeled as I wanted to know what all the flavors were. Parking is a bit hard as it is metered street parking out front but we found free parking blocks down and just walked.

I was so excited when my mom asked me to take a day trip to LA because I've been wanting to place an order but didn't want to wait for it to ship out. We went shortly after they opened and they were well stocked. They had almost everything that I was looking for. I was greeted when I walked in. When you walk in, you grab a bag and a clean scoop. Then you just go wild in the store and grab whatever candy your heart desires. I got a couple bags for friends and family and ended up spending $136. It's well worth it. It's all so good. I love the pineapple skulls and the sour pineapples. The flavor is so true and very yummy. I will definitely place an order when I run out or take another day trip to LA to grab some goodies. FYI, most of the sour stuff isn't too sour!

Had to try this place out bc of Swedish candy going viral on TikTok! Didn't disappoint. I believe it was $15.99/lb and there are a lot of options to choose from. The staff is super nice and will explain to you how it works. There aren't labels or descriptions for every candy so you can ask them if you have any questions.

This candy store is simply amazing! A self-service shop with so many candy options from Sweden. There is simply something for everyone here with a variety of choices from chocolates to licorice & gummy candies. You pay by the pound here and scoop whatever you want into a bag and you pay at the end when you are done. The staff here are friendly and helpful if you have any questions about certain candy. For $15/lb, you can get so much candy here and I love the texture of their gummy candies and they have sour and non-sour options. The chocolate here is also delicious and doesn't taste too waxy or fake like Hershey's. Parking is available on the street but it can get crowded/full often but the quality of candy and what you can get makes a drive into LA worth it for some of the best Swedish candy I've had!

I can't tell what Sockerbit is trending for. I know it has gone viral, but I can't tell what the hype is about . How's is this better than Sweet Factory? Is it because it's aesthetic? The place is basically all barren (i.e. not just simplistic and clean) except for the one neon sign. I can't imagine everyone being candy connoisseurs where the quality of these gummies and chocolates are the priority. The store has a small section where they actually put the imported Scandinavian candies like the natural licorice, but the main wall has seemingly generic gummies and sour candy. Is the candy worth $16.99/lb? Most people get a dozen little pieces of candy for $5-6. The bag is cute, but otherwise not packaged nicely like Sugarfina.

Came here for the hype and left with a bag of yummy candy! First time trying Swedish candy and if you're looking to try it in LA, I would recommend this spot. Came in on a Thursday before closing and a couple of options were sold out but there was still a lot of candy available. Don't come in expecting to be amazed because some of the options aren't all that. My candy reccs are the Bubs and Skull candies!

Clean, friendly service, and quick grab and go. Highly recommend for your sweet treat needs. Tip is to get there early and call to check if they're open. The last time I went, they rarely had the candy that I wanted to try but I went at 5pm. They were also closed the next day because of the lack of supply.

This place has been around for several years now but MAN is it getting a lot of attention right now (Feb 2024) due to TikTok Swedish candy crazy!! I purposefully went right as they opened on a Thursday and I still wasn't alone. It's a small storefront with over fifty varieties of candies - gummies, sours, some chocolates etc. Metered parking is tight on 3rd unless you can time it right. Maybe park at Trader Joe's across the street and pop in there too? Very nice and accommodating staff.

Disappointed with my Experience. We went to Sockerbit to get some candy early in the morning a bit after they opened hoping that we could beat the lines and that they would have fully stocked candies. When we went we were disappointed because they didn't have many candies and we also went for the popular BUBS candies and they did not have them out on the floor so we went up to the cashier to ask if they had any and we were told no but then we saw that they had a full bag of them in the back. Overall it was just really disappointing.

It was superr crowded when I went. I think forming a line outside could be a good idea. Also, there wasn't really any candies left when I went and it was midday on a Tuesday. Service was also hasty, not the best. I would recommend to just park at the grove as well

Swedish candy has taken over social media and now I can say, rightfully so. Sockerbit has a great selection and I can't wait to try all of the other flavors. I got about an eighth of the bag full and ended up paying $6, and I'd say it was a decent amount of candy. Standouts for me were the mini citrus eggs, coca cola sour skulls, and the tutti frutti bubs. The workers are really friendly as well. It's on the pricier end yes, but the experience is worth it and your mouth will thank you ;)

This is the best candy store I've found in town! They have all sorts of licorices, sweet and sours, and are fairly priced. I do with they had a greater selection in terms of the type of candy, but I suppose they are sticking true to her Swedish influence! It's a small store, but cutely arranged, and parking can be reasonable. Employees are very nice! They do stay open until 8 on some days, though Yelp indicates 7 pm, and so does their website.

Cute store and tasty candy. The librarian in me did notice that they need to do a better job with their restocking/labeling. A lot of the candy bins were not labeled correctly which isn't helpful for the Swedish candy neophyte. Time to do some shelf reading!

With all the traffic from TikTok, their staff has done an incredible job refilling the candy and keeping their line moving! So if you drive by on a weekend and see a long line, do not be turned away because it goes by really quick! They are currently sold out of the pink & blue skulls, but they still have a lot of options! My personal favorite was the cola skull and light green bubs!

Tasty candy!! Loved everything except for the non gelatin candies... it is a bit pricey per pound as per usual, but it is imported. I will definitely be going again 2 bags of candies cost me around 40 bucks my bags were pretty hefty. I waited in line for about 30 minutes, worth the hype. I do wish they had more bubs though but I think they were sold out.

After being on Swedish candy tiktok for months I finally got my hands on some. I went to Sockerbit at about 5pm on a Friday and they had most of the candy I was looking for but had run out of some of the Bubs I wanted. Still walked away super happy. The workers were great at explaining how the candy picking and buying process worked. The area was clean and tidy. And Swedish candy is worth the hype! I personally love all of the Bubs and skulls. It's been a couple days since I went and 99% of the candy I got is still fresh!

We went yesterday and stood in line for a candy store, and I thought that this stuff better make me have wings! However, the candy was so good and it was worth the wait. Park at the Grove.

They only told me the pomegranate and strawberry bubs were out. I didn't know the banana bubs, sour dizzy skulls, sour peach skulls, banana marshmallows, orange cola, sour strawberry banana, bananan bubs, and tutti fruity were all out as well. That's 90% of my order. I would have canceled it if I knew I was getting a bunch of sour chews that I did not order. I don't even like these. I told them to replace with sour skulls which, they did not do and gave me all sour bottles instead. I really hate this TikTok trend

2 Stars because it's overpriced, overhyped up candy and most of their candy is hard. The candy doesn't taste fresh. I would come back to leave unhappy with 1 small handful of candy at $32.

Love this candy shop but I will say that the parking is tough and the lines are fairly long. My favorites are bubs and the cola candy. Some of the candies are hit or miss so I would recommend getting a little bit of everything to stay.

Great candy shop! Didn't know they've been around for 10 years, I heard about it on tiktok and had to try some of the sweet and sour candy. The staff was super helpful in telling you how to get the candy, provide recs and letting you access the scale to see how much more you want. My favorite were the sour skulls!!! All the flavors were amazing. I'd come back here just to get more of those!

One of my favorite stores in LA. They have all the best Swedish foods/ candy one could ask for. I went to Sweden over the summer, and fell in love with the foods over there. I didn't think, anywhere in LA offered Swedish Candy/ foods, until I found Sockerbit. Staff members are extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place for anyone interested in Swedish foods/Candy.

Horrible experience. Drove 1.5 hr from OC for my kids to have a good experience paid over $65 they didn't have any sockerbit bags when we first got there then when we were leaving and they put more bags out I asked for them for my kids and they said they couldn't give us "extra" bags. Will not go there again.

We really loved coming to the store! It was so fun to pick out so many of the viral candies we've been seeing online. The staff was helpful and suggesting some of her favorites. They had most everything that we wanted in stock.

The candy here is so delicious! You should get 1 of everything. It's expensive and hard to figure out what you want to buy on a budget but worth the occasional splurge!

Super hyped up and expensive - they have "extra" candy (the good ones) in the back that's for online orders that takes up to a month to ship. The interior is really tiny and the candy selection choices seem limited as most are always sold out for a reason. The service is alright since it's self service and you have to get your own bag and scoop which is next to the cashier but I highly recommend the business to change their layout and provide the scoops and bags as you enter as it gets crowded and messy because people are all going to the cashier when you first enter or about to pay and leave.

I was so excited to try Sockerbit because of the traction being gained from Tiktok! Street parking wasn't too difficult on a Saturday late afternoon, so that was a plus! The store itself is extremely small and there are a lot of people packed in it. There isn't really any line or any order which made it a little bit too chaotic for me. You grab the bags at the cash register which is further back from the front, which means you have to navigate your way through the crowd and the display in the middle. There were lots of options for candys, but not all of them had labels, which backfired because we got some that we were curious about but didn't like because it had flavors we weren't usually a fan of.. BUT there were some candies that were a hit, based on flavor and the unique textures. The price ended up being around $28 for 1.7lbs, which is a lot but I guess it's LA.. I would possibly come back once in a while for some of the candy, but definitely will not go as crazy as to get 1.7lbs again

Customer service is terrible. Arrival time takes a few months after order placement. Overpriced for the quality.

There were good but there are limited options in store and the order process takes so long! If you go, I recommend the bubs and the skulls! The atmosphere was okay, a little crowded but ok. I would recommend buying somewhere else though because it takes almost 1-1/2 month to receive your order online..

Overrated gummies. Add in a line and it's totally not worth it. Glad I tried but will probably pass on a second visit.

My tik tok FYP has been filled with Swedish candy from a business in NY. As a L.A native I was a bit bummed thinking they were the only ones to enjoy those yummy candies in the U.S but I came across another tik tok of a location here in L.A that being Sockerbit!!! I was so excited I had to GO which I did and omg the place is mellow, organized, and very clean!! I love the individual scoopers. The worker at the front register was able to recommend candies for my kid since I wanted to get him his own individual bag. I ENJOYED Every piece of candy I got! I'm going back again! Our favs are the strawberry pomegranate ovals!!!!

I'm not really a candy person but I discovered this spot while I was endlessly scrolling through Tiktok and I love it!! Such a wide variety of swedish candies, I had so much fun grabbing a bag of random sweet and sour candies. Really great quality! Parking can be a pain but it's possible and honestly, worth it.

I love this candy store . It's self-service and they have individual scoopers and bags out for people to serve themselves . I appreciated how there are a lot of labeled vegan options and clearly stated items marked with gelatin since I don't eat items containing gelatin. Can't wait to come back .

If you're like me a individual who happened to have spent a long time in Sweden you have a certain longing and craving for their insanely good candy selections they have everywhere gas stations grocery stores, kiosks that sell nothing but things to smoke and candy, All over Sweden one will find these stations. In stark contrast to their state run alcohol monopoly known as Systembolaget or hell the only place one can legally buy alcohol over 3.5% outside of a bar or nightclub. The candy of this country will make you an addict. I craved Swedish candy and entered a place called Sockerbit (Sugar Cube in Swedish) I filled my bag with candy of all sorts I found myself confused by their compartments and unable to open their complex candy compartments. An older lady explained to me how to operate them. I then went to weigh and pay for my candy I picked up the Swenglish accent of the cashier and got to practice my second language briefly.

Ordered from this company on 2/26/2024 and have received NOTHING but a $71.00 credit charge! No response to requests to contact me! NOT ONE WORD from this sham company! It has been almost 24 days since purchase! I am calling the Better Business Bureau first chance I get. Have follow up call with my credit card scheduled for Monday.

Havent received my order online, and it's been 23 days. Emailed their support more than a week ago, and they're unresponsive and gives no update! How long am I supposed to wait for some candies? Months?

First off, I'm Swedish and love this place. The bad reviews are very confusing to me because I have never had a bad experience with this place. Candy is always fresh, authentic, and obviously delicious. It's always clean and the staff has always been very nice. Please don't ever close!

Why aren't there more locations spread out across socal so whenever I'm craving some Swedish candy, I'm not agonizing about weathering LA traffic, battling cars for parking spots and eventually getting turned around on some alley way not knowing where I'm even going anymore. BUT, is Sockerbit worth it? Yes. Hello to the swedes yes! My favorite type is the creamy centered sour straws. I dont even know what they're called but simply sublime. The best way to enjoy is having an edible and going to town living like the adult child you are.

I placed my order over a month ago (5 weeks) and have not received a shipping update or anything. I understand that there have been an overwhelming number of online orders, however, at least communicate and handle the customer service aspect. If I don't get any reply to my email or at least a "we're sorry it's late" email then I will just cancel my order.

I placed an order with them 2/4/24 and nothing has come yet. I have called numerous times but they never pick up. I have emailed them several times- no response. They took my money almost 6 weeks ago but have not bothered to communicate with me even when I demanded a refund of my money. I will never, ever order from them again. I placed an order with Butik Hemlangtan on line a week ago and that delivery is slated to arrive in three days! Hemlangtan is so much more efficient and they have an even wider assortment of goods! I will be their loylal customer from now on! Stay away from Sockerbit!!
