Urban cafe with long wooden tables and exposed brick walls, serving specialist sourdough pizza.
"Sodo Pizza Cafe is back up and running on a pop-up basis. Keep an eye on their Instagram to find out when and in which of their branches they’re going to be opening for collection, and then get ready to call from 3/3.30pm if their plans fit in with your plans." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
"Sodo’s sourdough pizzas—found in Hammersmith, Hackney, Walthamstow, and more places—have been consistently delicious for years. Their crispy base and wholesome toppings (the Lorena, ft. roasted butternut squash, feta, pine nuts, and rosemary is a favourite) make a takeaway pizza something special. Even better, eat in and share a bottle from their well-sized biodynamic wine list." - rianne shlebak, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, daisy meager, sinead cranna
"Nothing, absolutely nothing, will ever make you as happy as your dog is when you say “walkies.” Except maybe eating pizza. Sodo in Clapton serves sourdough pizzas and natural wine in a space that’s perfect for a catch-up with friends (of all species), or a casual, candlelit date night. And no, we’re not judging you for bringing your dog on a date, arguably it’s one of life’s great power moves. " - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna
"There’s a shop in Clapton that bears an uncanny resemblance to a high street supermarket. Locals fondly refer to it as ‘Fake Sainsbury’s’. It’s a pillar of the Upper Clapton Road, and so is the pizza restaurant bang opposite it. The sourdough pies at Sodo Pizza are consistently up there with the best pizzas in London. They’re the kind with a crisp base and crusts that taste of a lot more than dough. Plus the candlelit space is an extremely reliable (and cost-efficient) casual date or dinner location." - jake missing
"Pizza has the ability to be perfect in so many situations. Sodo Pizza in Clapton is an extremely cute (and candlelit) sourdough pizza restaurant that’s as tasty as it is useful. We’ve come here on our own, with parents, and with dates, because it’s so reliably pleasing with its crispy pies and relaxed atmosphere. It’s virtually impossible to leave here without saying - ‘yeah that was really nice, that’." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
