This restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide, and I came with an expectations of what the restaurant should be listed in Michelin guides, since I’ve tried many Michelin star and recommended places before. Overall, the food was a bit disappointed but the service was good — the staff were kind and accommodating.
In general, the flavors were good, but the ingredient combinations felt a bit too simple. I think the chef could be more creative with the pairings.
The first course, an onsen egg with miso sauce, was tasty and well-balanced. The second course, fish with a light sauce, was nicely cooked — tender and refreshing without being heavy. The third course, a ceviche with beet sauce, had a pleasant sweet-and-sour flavor, though the concept felt a little basic.
For the main course, I ordered the pork rib, which turned out to be almost entirely fat. I asked if it was supposed to be that fatty, and the server confirmed it was. I doubted. Also, I actually came after checking their online menu yesterday, but it seems they updated it today. Unfortunately, the pork also had a bit of a strong odor, so I couldn’t eat it. I mentioned this to the staff, and they kindly offered to replace it with chicken — which I really appreciated.
The chicken was better — juicy, with a slightly crispy skin and a sauce that complemented it well.
Their sourdough could be more fragrant, and the dessert was fine but not memorable.
Dinner was €49 for 3 courses or €59 for 4.
The experience was pleasant thanks to the service, but I hoped for more creativity and refinement in the dishes.
