Yelp
Easy going Pizza place on 16th Street Mall. It has a few tables, 2 counters, bar seating and an outdoor patio on 16th Street. You order at the counter with 8 pizza's served Tavern style. They have a spatula to size the pizza. Then cut it with scissors into 2 pieces. I got the Pepperoni for
$ 5.50 and the Tikka Chicka (Tikka Masala with chicken) for $ 8.50 + a large Caesar salad for $ 11. The pizza was warmed up in the Italian hand-made Castelli oven. I have seen such ovens in Italy. It was installed by the previous business (Sofia's). The pizza was not quite deep dish, but good. The caesar salad was ok, but needed more dressing. I sat at the bar. My food was delivered a few minutes later. I started with the house made Negroni with Ford's gin, vermouth and Campari. I had it served up neat without ice. Nice and smooth. I tried another drink, a frozen concoction "Goldy Tea" fashioned in the style of a John Daly cocktail with lemonade, iced tea and vodka. Their version is frozen lemonade and New Amsterdam Vodka. Not too strong, but a nice cold drink on a hot day. I met the owner, Nick Kayser formely of Rooted Craft Kitchen. He said they are getting mostly tourists and a few downtown residents. His co-owner Scott said hi. He remembered me from my previous visits to their restaurant in LoHi. The bartender was Rex. Easy to converse with. He interacted well with locals. Happy Hour is Mon-Fri 230pm-5pm. They use plastic ware, not reusable. Restrooms are not gender free. Access code is on your receipt. They also have several arcade machines.
