Our stay has been absolutely exceptional. We were celebrating our anniversary, and Manager Myriam went above and beyond to ensure it was memorable. The staff were warm and welcoming, surprising us with a handwritten letter and thoughtful gifts. The restaurant serves high-quality, delicious dishes, and the breakfast buffet is sumptuous. The hotel is conveniently located near numerous shopping spots, subway stations, and major tourist attractions. The room is beautifully decorated, adding to the overall charm of our stay. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Paris.

You must stay here the staff is phenomenal. The rooms are beautiful, renovated, comfy, cozy bed front desk staff is courteous and efficient restaurant. Staff is courteous and efficient ready to make all recommendations. Felix at the front desk was more than helpful and very patient with me attempting to speak only French. Beautifully situated near Gallery Lafayette three buildings one for men one for women and souvenirs and a third for home which has a beautiful food court. Also very close to place de l’opéra

The hotel is situated in a very nice and convenient part of Paris, within walking distance of popular attractions and great restaurants. We had the family room with a king bed and fold out sofa, and it was so much bigger and nicer than what is shown on the photos online. It was a nice surprise. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is very clean. No complaints from us - only compliments!

Viking booked us in this hotel as part of a pre-trip “premium” package. The hotel is in a good location and the door staff seemed very nice and attentive. Otherwise, nothing about the hotel seemed “premium” or “five star.” The common areas felt cramped and unattractive. Our room was dark and poorly lit. The shower was treacherous to get into and out of and the controls were difficult to figure out even though our home shower is European. The breakfast area was in the basement and not very attractive. The food while plentiful was not very good. The yogurt and Muesli were soggy. The buffet scrambled eggs were runny. The kitchen failed to cook a decent omelette three days in a row. We have stayed is five or six nice hotels in Paris. Last you we really enjoyed the Hotel Grand Powers. If you want to stay near the Opera, we stayed Intercontinental across the street several years ago. It seemed more elegant and was much more attractive.

Google
Our stay was associated with a pre-cruise stay through Viking. The hotel was lovely, staff (for the most part) was friendly and helpful, especially at the front desk. (The concierge was not especially helpful. I emailed her before our visit with some questions, and she never responded. Once on the premises, we approached her for some dining suggestions, and again, she was not particularly helpful and seemed annoyed by our questions.) The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was a bit small, but normal for European hotels. The breakfast was phenomenal! The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The hotel is located near the Opera House, and we were able to walk to shopping, dining, and attractions in many instances. Overall, we were very happy with this hotel and would definitely return.

I returned to this hotel after nearly 10 years, and it was absolutely the right choice. The excellent service and great location were just as I remembered. Thanks to the warm hospitality, my daughter’s first trip to France became unforgettable. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the service was thoughtful in every detail. Special thanks to Mr. Christophe, who speaks fluent Japanese and welcomed us warmly each morning. His thoughtful farewell on our last day was especially appreciated. We’re truly grateful and will definitely come back!

Had a wonderful experience at the Sofitel Le Scribe. The concierge staff members were helpful and gave great recommendations each time I stopped by their desk. I appreciated that there was always fresh ice water and detox water in the lobby. The gym, while small, was clean and all the equipment was new - it had exactly what I needed. We ordered room service for breakfast and it was delicious. There was a discrepancy on our folio which was handled quickly with an employee after we'd left the hotel - they went out of their way to help us get to the bottom of the issue. My floor was also very quiet - really appreciate thick walls while staying in older buildings in Europe as that is not always the case! The hotel is in a central location, close to shopping, museums, public transportation and many other iconic landmarks. All in all, we loved our stay at the hotel and will be back!

Google
Great location. Attentive staff from arrival to departure. Food choices on breakfast buffet were very plentiful. Concierge recommended three restaurants within walking distance that were all delicious. Most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever experienced. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. Very clean. We will stay there again.

Yelp
This hotel deserves far more than five stars--it's absolutely fabulous! From the moment my boyfriend and I arrived, we were treated with unparalleled genuine hospitality. As a Diamond member of this hotel group, my boyfriend received an incredible upgrade to a stunning suite, which made our anniversary celebration even more special. Every staff member we encountered was exceptionally friendly and attentive. You could tell they truly cared about creating a magical experience for their guests. A special shoutout to the gentleman who checked us in (I regret not remembering his name!)--he went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, and I wish I'd had the chance to personally thank him before we left. The hotel's bar was the perfect romantic spot for a couple of drinks before heading out to explore. The location couldn't have been better: peaceful and romantic, yet right in the heart of high-end shopping and touristic activities. I genuinely cannot recommend this hotel enough. It exceeded all our expectations, and we will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Paris!

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Scribe Paris. The hotel is conveniently located in the Opera District, and it's close to bars, restaurants, shops, and public transit. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The bedroom was a little cozy, but the bathroom was spacious with both a tub and a stand-in shower. The room was very clean and modern. There were multiple electrical outlets options, including EU and US. I would highly recommend staying here at Hotel Scribe.

Yelp
We stayed at this beautiful hotel for 4 nights...here are my thoughts. The good: location is perfect, staff is very nice, we received an upgrade to a beautiful room as we booked through our Amex, and they let us check in early which was amazing after a red eye flight from NYC. The not-so-good: housekeeping is pretty terrible. We had to call numerous times for them to replace mugs and toilet paper, they left used glasses and room service items after daily cleaning, and after a day or two we sort of just gave up. Additionally the room service food is lacking (I know...but we were too tired to go out), and the room had some noticeable damage that should be attended to (a giant hold in the wall of the bathroom). Overall this was a great stay thanks to the upgrade. Had we received the duplex we booked at close to $1k a night I'd probably feel differently. Still, I'd definitely return!

Yelp
Service, amenities, location was outstanding. From the moment you get out of the taxi, you feel welcomed. The bar offers unique cocktails and the bartenders and waiters were all amazing. We dined at the hotel restaurant and I highly recommend it. The food was innovative and delicious and like everywhere else in the hotel, the service was exceptional. The service you receive everywhere in the hotel is very attentive without being intrusive. That is such a difficult balance to achieve and this hotel achieves it effortlessly.we will definitely return.

Yelp
Excellent hotel! We enjoyed our stay here. We were two adults and two pre teens and the rooms were just big enough to be comfortable. Kids slept on the fold out couch which was comfortable enough, they didn't complain. Both rooms had their own tv's. My wife and girls loved their soaps, lotions, and bath products. We had our luxury shopping delivered to the hotel and it was always delivered to the room before we got back and never had any issues with items missing. If you need cash they exchange money in the lobby but I found an atm just a block down the street towards the galleries that gave me much better exchange rates. This location is very centralized and most things you can walk to. And if you need to take a car the Uber or taxis rides were usually between 10-15 euros. If you are into luxury brands this is the location to be because their all mostly within walking distance. After a few days, If you get tired of the Parisian food their is a good amount of Japanese restaurants within walking distance too. My girls love Boba it's only a 15min walk. There is also a nice rooftop bar across the street but unfortunately we didn't discover it till it was time to leave. But I recommend checking it out if you can.

Yelp
Excellent place to stay, rooms were clean and well stocked. They provided servicing for the room multiple times a day. Staff were excellent, room service options were good too. We are super happy we chose to stay here.

Yelp
Hotel scribe is the best hotel I've ever stayed at. I cannot say enough about the staff, they are extremely professional, courteous, and all of them go out of their way to accommodate the need of the customer.. from the moment I got out of the car I knew that I was going to have a fabulous experience. And I was right.

Yelp
Just got back from a short visit to Paris and this time around my stay at the Scribe was disappointing. The Scribe is in the midst of renovations-though they don't inform you of this during/after booking and when checking in. The loud banging and drilling early in the morning was a jarring way we received this information. The room we stayed in was run down but even more disappointing was the lukewarm service we received. The rates were still premium and certainly not reflective of the state and ambiance. In hindsight, I would have stayed elsewhere. Two stars are for the Scribe's location and bellhop service.

Yelp
I stayed here while on a recent business trip to Paris. The Hôtel Scribe Paris is a hotel in an old building that has been "Sofitel-ized" - completely renovated and upgraded. This hotel is in the Opera district, so it a few blocks from the Opera house (imagine the coincidence). It is also very close to the Place Vendôme, the Louvre museum, the Tuileries Garden, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the river Seine, etc., as well as lots of shopping. The neighborhood is beautiful, classic Paris and is very safe day or night. Like most Sofitels (which I would put on par with Intercontinental), the room was well appointed - the decor is classic with a modern / cozy twist. The bed was large and very comfy, and the bathroom was equally large. The rest of the hotel (lobby, restaurant, bar, etc.) were equally as plush - but nothing was over the top stuffy, white glove type nonsense. That said, the service was excellent as well from the front desk, to the concierge to the doorman. I had a thousand questions and all were answered with a smile. The only meal I ate in the hotel was breakfast, and it was absolutely excellent - the pastries, oh man, don't get me started. I highly recommend this hotel for business or vacation.

Yelp
This staff in this hotel are friendly. The hotel is very clean and safe. All the guests need to insert the key cards in order to access their own floors. The concierge service staff, Emmanuelle is so friendly and helpful. She helped us to book the skip-the-line tickets to Versailles and the train tickets to Belgium. Her other colleagues in the front check-in desk are courteous. They always smile and greet us which makes us feel like coming home in Paris. :)

Yelp
Amazing hotel in the heart of the 2nd arr. we got an amazing two story room for what ended up being an engagement weekend here. The bar and restaurant downstairs are nice for a tired night in and it's conveniently in town right on the front corner.

Yelp
Fantastic service. Friendly staff at every turn, especially the concierge desk. Nice touches such as slippers , free bottled water, better than normal shower soaps, human voices on wake up calls. The breakfast buffet we had every morning , and it was fabulous! (We only wish they could change up the menu occasionally). The hotel is in a location central to all the sights , and the Metro of course. The rooms are cozy but very comfortable and quiet -- we were there for France's World Cup victory party and even though the party raged on in the streets all night , we could barely hear it with our windows closed! Highly recommend this hotel!

Yelp
Stayed here and had a nice time. The hotel room was clean and well stocked with all necessities. I enjoyed the location and felt it was safe and easy to find. This hotel was able to accommodate the three of us, which is sometimes hard to find as some of the hotel rooms are small. The beds were comfortable and the room was large. The service here was very good, I was helped by the concierge quite a few times.

Yelp
Extreamly nice Hotel in the center of all of Paris . The hotel staff does its all to make your stay memorable . The breakfast buffet is indescribable , If it not on the serving islands you You don't need it.

Yelp
Had an absolutely amazing stay at the Hotel Scribe! Even before our arrival, I was able to email the concierge and ask some questions about our stay. They were very helpful with dinner and lunch recommendations, shopping recommendations, and even organized a pickup for us at the airport. I would highly recommend using the concierges and taking their recommendations - they definitely know the area well. We had a great room overlooking the street with an amazing view. The windows shut out all noise when they were closed. Hermes toilettries are a plus. The beds are extremely comfortable. Great buffett breakfast as well that was included with our room bill. Cute, boutique-y atmosphere. Would definitely stay again!

Yelp
LOVE!!!! So much character. So much history. Great hotel. My room was beautiful. They have renovated and it's lovely. The hotel is near everything - Shopping, museums, restaurants and more!! I can't wait to return!

Yelp
Loved, loved, loved....stayed in many place in Paris and this was one of the most favorites ever. Spotless room, luxury bed linens, Hermes toiletries, in room K coffee. (we can be pretty picky and this was a stellar experience) Each staff member was pleasant, smiling, helpful, kind. Check in and out was efficient and we always felt so very welcome. The bar was a great place for a nightcap after a day of walking. Can't beat the location...close to everything. Really exceptional experience.

Yelp
we had a very pleasant stay here at le scribe. comfortable renovated rooms, surprisingly large bathrooms with separate bathtubs, complimentary hermès products, centrally located, impressive continental breakfast and friendly service, considering it's paris. i guess my only complaint would be the lil things. room service ran out of many items on the evening we arrived and the shower drain was not properly draining so our bathroom floor would get considerably wet. lil things that management needs to address. but overall, thumbs up.
google avatar

Jhoanna A.

Yelp
Five stars for the Hermes bath accessories, the simple but lovely room, the great location (restaurants, Opera, Grand Boulevard), the cheerful and accommodating lobby staff, the interesting history of the hotel (Lumiere brothers and the first projector) and most of all the absurd breakfast buffet (with the endless fresh fruit juice selection!)

Yelp
Great place to stay in the Opera District! Just spent 4 days here with my wife and another couple. Rooms were great, very comfortable bed, pillows; AC. All the things you'd expect from Sofitel you'll find @ Hotel Scribe. Breakfast was amazing, very Americanized and very well done. Pull up a chair to the pastries and just graze! The high ceilings made the bathroom and room seem even larger, plenty of room for us. Complimentary coffee and tea, robes and slippers made mornings enjoyable while adjusting to the time difference. We were equally impressed with the staff, always very welcoming and ready to help. Room service was excellent, we had a late afternoon "meal" in the cafe, I'd recommend the Turkey Club with fries. The ladies enjoyed the shopping, you'll find everything you can think of just a short walk away on the Blvd des Capucines, @ the Galaries de Lafayette - just two blocks away or anywhere close by. Taxi's are always available @ the door. I just don't think you can go wrong staying here, we thoroughly enjoyed! We always felt very safe walking day or night. Also extremely close to train station Lazare for our trek to Normandy.

Yelp
I actually booked this hotel and package through Costco and paid a little more to upgrade for this hotel and was glad I did. This is an intimate, boutique hotel with two elevators which worked well for us. Hotel is owned and operated by Sofitel. Located in the Opera district, this hotel was a wonderful location for walking to sites or grabbing a metro. There were three metro stops very close by including Madeleine, Auber, and Opéra. From Auber, we took the RER A to Disneyland Paris which was very easy. The place also has many shops and eateries nearby including the Galeries Lafayette (check out my Yelp review for the Galeries Lafayette Gourmet which is a must visit for foodies if you are staying at this hotel). The front desk staff were top notch. That said, everyone including waitstaff, bellhops, and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. The place is currently under renovation but this did not cause any problems for us at all. We did not hear any construction noise although we were out most of the days. There was a computer for use for free in the lobby, and the WiFi was also no cost and worked well. The rooms are clean, beds soft and loaded with comfy pillows. Loved the in room Nespresso machine and used it daily. They had nightly turn down service which included sleepy time roiboos teas. The complimentary shampoos, body wash and lotion were high end Hermès. It was extremely helpful that they had complimentary umbrellas for use since it rained the day we went to the Louvre and we could each grab an umbrella to keep dry on our walk there from the hotel. Our package included buffet breakfast. If you have the buffet breakfast, you must have the croissants and Madeleines which were divine!!!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel and conveniently located. IT ENDS THERE! The longer I stay the worse my experience becomes. Yesterday I had to ask the concierge twice to bring more coffee K Cups before they brought any. I am now in my 3rd night. When we came back this afternoon we discovered that maid service had left our dirty partial filled coffee cups from this morning, had not replaced the Nespresso K cups and the table it all sits on was not cleaned or touched. The rest of the room was done. We told the concierge and she was going to take care of it when we left for dinner. We also told her we needed ice so my wife could ice her sore knee and a bucket of ice for the room. She said she would send room service right up with it. Forty-five minutes later, NOTHING. I called the concierge again and she did the "I'm shocked routine", 7-8 minutes later, room service with an ice pack but no ice bucket. Another trip. We came back tonight after dinner and no clean cups, no coffee k-cups, no one has touched the table to clean it. No fresh towels, towels are still on the floor in n the bathroom from this afternoon When you turn on the hot water in the shower in the morning the pipes in the wall bang (water hammer) for 5-10 minutes and wake my wife up. The rod that pops up the stopper in the sink is not connected so I have to reach under the sink to raise the lever to raise the stopper so the sink drains. I paid $1,274 US for 4 nights here. They bill themselves as one of the top hotels in the city. I wouldn't stay here again for 1/2 the price. The hotel we left in Barcelona, Hotel Colon, just prior to here I rated 5 stars on Yelp. This hotel I would rate 0 stars if I could. There appear to be lots of nice hotels in Paris. Do yourself a favor and book where they care about your stay and they are committed to service. I am by no means difficult to deal with, in fact just the opposite.

Susan B.

Yelp
I cant say enough good things. The hotel is fantastic and the staff went above and beyond. We were there for our anniversary and it was perfect. Elizabeth was especially wonderful and helpful.

Yelp
A lovely grand hotel in the centre of Paris. Great location, nice hotel, one of the best breakfast buffets you will see. Rooms are small but well appointed. Bed is comfortable and i slept well while i was here. My only critcism is the lift is slow and problematic.
google avatar

Yelp
What a great experience. Perfectly located near the Opera House and multiple metro stations making it easy to get around Paris. When we first checked the concierge immediately came up to us and informed us of our confirmation for a dinner reservation. The confidence and congeniality of the staff was more than expected. They were attentive and prompt with their service - no complaints. We had a junior suite which was a wonderful size for Paris rooms. There was sufficient storage for clothing and the staff provided more hangers on request. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The only problem that I saw was that the doors to the street did not open fully which would have been nice to allow for fresh air. The bar was a little on the expensive side for drinks and have a hard time making the American version of Martinis. We were able to get a good deal on Prestigia and so the value was good.

Ruth C.

Yelp
The only reason I don't give Hotel Scribe 5 stars is that they are undergoing renovation so there was construction noise during our stay. The service, room, breakfast and location were exceptional. An extremely friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is a choice of several stations well-stocked with delicious options: the breads were all fresh and delicious; the scrambled eggs creamy and satisfying; a healthy vegan station, and a station more attuned to Asian and Middle Eastern tastes. And of course, excellent coffee. The rooms were large, and beautifully decorated with nicely outfitted bathrooms. The Hotel has a welcoming decor with fresh flowers and comfortable, stylish furnishings in all public spots. Healthy walking distance to many major Paris attractions and a few short blocks to the Metro. The construction ends in 18 months and I imagine the Scribe will be perfect after that!
