Sofrito Houston

I had the Tripleta sandwich. It was heavenly. Pretty much everything on the menu is delicious and made to order right in front of the diner. Sofrito is inside a car wash, but don't be fooled by the odd location, the food is amazing.

GREAT FOOD!!! It is a rich and excellent Puertorican-Texan cuisine fusion with a twist. It is not your average “Chinchorreo” place, still you get the Puertorican flavor on every bite. Great Service, and great prices. The owner went above and beyond to serve us. Looking forward to return again, and who knows if it is in a new and bigger facility. Thank you CJ!

If you want to eat Puerto Rican food that is gourmet at "chinchorro" prices then this is the place to be. I have not tried anything here that does not make my mouth water thinking about it, the Cuban Sandwich, La Tripleta, cheesecake, empanadillas, all delicious. Christofer is a true chef and cooks up things on any given day just to try them, but has a steady menu that is fantastic plus his customer service is 2nd to none. Do yourself a favor and come by here, you will not be dissapointed.

I visited Sofrito TWICE. Both times, the owners did not handle the food properly. Today when I placed an order, the guy grabbed the empanadas (from the freezer) with his bare hands and put them into the fryer; he didn't use gloves. Prob the only reason he didn't pick up the empanadas from the fryer with his hands was because they were HOT. From handling other food to handling storage items to taking my payment ... he used his bare hands. I wish I had a way to reach Chef Gordon Ramsay to come in and teach Sofrito proper food handling procedures. Germs and bacteria spread by touch. The culture of Sofrito is not up to standard and puts its customers at risk. My health is important to me. So, until the owners prioritize proper food handling, I cannot patronize the business. IF you want to roll the dice with your health @ Sofrito... WATCH how your order is handled. Notice whether gloves are used AND whether anyone washes their hands, then VOTE with YOUR dollar!

The food is amazing. We tried two of the specials and were very happy. Very yummy Puerto Rican cuisine.

Oh wao! Their food is so tasty. The flavor fusion is so rich without leaving the puertorrican taste behind. Everything I tried and ate was so good.Totally recommended.

Really great sandwiches here! The owner was really nice as well. I can't wait to go back and try the empanadas!
