The Woodside soft serve was really good. The Ube ice cream was so creamy, the mochi was delicious and the hint coconut was perfect.

Absolutely amazing soft serve ice cream, great flavors, with the right amount of sweetness and good looking ($8 per serving on average). Recent visit: Thai iced tea ube swirl, really good. I had the black sesame and ube soft serves. Both were amazing and the black sesame was especially good because it had a really enjoyable nutty and earthy flavor which you rarely get in any other ice cream flavor anywhere else. They also have ample topping options as well as flavors, all at decent prices.

Good solid ice cream and friendly and fast service. Nothing to call home about however. Don’t think it’s worth the price necessarily however. Got a sundae and 2 2 - scoop cups for over $33

My husband and I have come for ube soft swerve many times at various locations. We came here last night at Kips Bay and were very disappointed. The ube soft serve tasted off, almost sour, like it was going bad. Please check your food safety protocols.

Surprisingly delicious ice cream! I haven’t tried their soft serve, but their hard scoops are extremely delicious. They serve unique Asian flavors like almond cookie, strawberry lychee, and ube. They also serve unique cone flavors (I got chocolate). Come check it out! We typically buy the pints for a better deal.

Their ube/purple yam soft serve is just amazing! My boyfriend and I had never had it before and we agreed that it's the best flavour we've tasted in a long time. The staff was super friendly and even gave us a sample beforehand :) I really hope to come back and have it again! (I saved this store in my favourite places list)

First time soft ice cream in US. We got black sesame flavor and Vietnamese coffee flavor. My personal favorite was sesame but the Vietnamese coffee had good strong coffee flavor too. One of the people working there was very nice and thoughtful. While the trainee had difficult time figuring out the cashier, ice cream melted and he was caring enough to re make it. Very good customer service.I would stop again to try different flavors

It was my first time trying Ube flavor in soft serve, and I can't stop thinking about it! Also got matcha and vanilla and was satisfied with them as well. Creamy texture and not too intense sweetness - will be planning to visit again!

So tasty! I've had their vanilla soft serve and their taro soft serve, and both were awesome. I've also sampled their milk tea ice cream, which was so spot on, it was uncanny. While I didn't choose to get any, they had many toppings and specialty cone flavors. Staff was friendly, and I love that they're open until 11. Great spot for a quick dessert!

Swerve is right. Just when you think you've entered a standard froyo shop, you feel you swerved into an Asian-inspired land of creamy confection. Jamie W. and I were wrapping up a Manhattan weekender and on our way back to the hotel to pick up our bags. It was an unusually balmy afternoon... So something sweet sounded good to pick up our spirits before our long flight home.I was enthralled by the sight of exotic flavors like Strawberry Lychee, Almond Cookie, and Hong Kong Milk Tea. Jamie was just grateful there were familiar flavors like chocolate and vanilla available. Cups were $7 with a two-flavor twist option. The ice cream here is beyond delicious. Strawberry lychee is my favorite flavor, and it's definitely a unique flavor that I haven't seen anywhere else. Service and ambiance here are also good!

Hearing the ice cream trucks emerge from their winter sleep must have sparked my intense craving for vanilla soft serve with rainbow sprinkles. After dinner nearby, we strolled into Soft Swerve, where I ordered a vanilla soft serve cone with sprinkles (and chopped almonds for good measure). My husband got a single scoop of almond cookie flavor. The tab? Seventeen freaking dollars!!! The ice cream was good, but not THAT good. This is highway robbery. Plus, the staff was cranky.

DELICIOUS! UBE flavor tasted very similar to taro. Highly recommend this cute little ice cream spot. Service was great. My husband and I will definitely return!

Service was great! Second time at soft swerve but first time at this location. The selection/unique flavors still great and loved the condensed milk topping as well as other topping options. I appreciate the generous portions but it's a bit of a health hazard and it was almost $10 for one scoop of ube soft serve with condensed milk and vanilla crumble and could easily serve two people.

Everything here was so delicious. Service was also great and super friendly. The associate took his time to answer my questions and yes I had a lot but he was so nice. We also sampled some flavors and my bf was in love with the hot chocolate ice cream. Serving was totally worth the price and they have some indoor seating too! Flavors switch off often so I'd recommend either checking online or giving them a call. Delicious!! Highly recommend!!! We tried a preset item and changed a few things. We were surprised that the mochi was so fresh and delicious!!!

So glad I was able to finally stop by and try their famous soft serve! I'm so glad they offer a thai tea flavor, which is honestly one of my all time favorites! The store was pretty empty when my friend and I went on a weekend afternoon and service was quick and friendly. Toppings are extra but personally I don't even think the ice cream needs them - it was super smooth and creamy on its own and I savored every bite! The portion is pretty large and I actually split a cup with my friend. Overall the store is brightly lit and clean, although a bit small with about 3-4 tables for sitting. They offer several more interesting flavors and I'll definitely stop by to try them out if I'm ever in the area again!

I must have been in a really cereal-y kind of mood, because I went double cereal toppings on my already vibrant purple ube ice cream. I hit it with a little Lucky Charms marshmallows and a little Fruity Pebbles, and this was some very very colorful stuff. Ya, it may be a little gimmicky but I was in that mood, and this wasn't massive so I was able to continue my walk down 3rd, have a little post-dinner snack, and be very happy about the whole thing. The place is small and actually quite unassuming for such a vibrantly colorful menu item. You're paying for a lot of color and not a ton of mass, but if you are headed here, you're probably okay with that thought already.

I came here to try their Midtown Milkshake, which I had heard good things about, but the person behind the counter said he had never heard of it. Maybe they just have it at their other locations? No matter, honestly. I instead tried their black sesame soft serve, served in a cinnamon-flavored cone. It was delicious! The black sesame flavor is almost obnoxiously good, with a heavy-on-the-umami, savory+sweet flavor. It reminded me of the tahini ice cream (which makes sense!) at Shukette. The cone had a really subtle flavor -- just a hint of cinnamon. I liked it, and the red + gray made for a really pretty and unique presentation!

Went to the LES location when Soft Swerve was a bit new and I loved their "halo-halo". Lately, we go to the Kips bay location bec usually in the area. I love the smoothness and creaminess of the ice cream. Don't know how many calories but satisfying as a treat. Had vietnamese coffee-black sesame a while back and it was a good combo. This past week, had the ube-thai tea flavor, good too. Can taste both flavors. Serving was generous that my ice cream starting leaning to one side. $7 Can choose from a few sundaes (with toppings/drizzles at $8). My family had: The Rockefeller which had frozen hot chocolate with fudge drizzle and sprinkles - has rich chocolate taste. And Broadway which had ube ice cream with fruity pebbles and cereal marshmallow. It's a small place with some seating inside. Service is fast and courteous.

Fast service! Great location! Indoor seating available with plenty of chairs. There was no line when we went. Matcha flavour was definitely my favourite. I got the ube soft serve. Great ambiance!

I decided to get something sweet after my lunch and decided to swing by here since I grocery shopped at the nearby Trader Joe's. The place is small with 2-3 bar table & stools. I was excited for the Asian flavors and had been wanted to stopped by. The service was friendly and the order was quickly taken and made. Kudos here! I ordered twist swirl in a cup of Ube & Thai Ice Tea & with addition of mochi. The order came out to $9. As soon as I received my soft serve, I was concerned. It was very soft and felt it could be firmer. I rushed home to eat it so it would not become soup. It still was Loved the ube! Strong taste and fairly authentic. Not sure because it was mixed with ube, I couldn't really taste the Thai tea. Disappointed... Definitely no to the mochi. Not sure if it's coloring, but the mochi had a strong aftertaste and artificial. Did not add to the soft serve. It will be a one time visit for me. Sorry.

Got soft serve Vietnamese coffee and it was so tasty! I came when there was no one either so it was nice to chill and eat ice cream with friends. However there was only one person working the entire store so it took some time for all of my friends to get their ice cream as well.

I've been to a few of their locations. Flavor combinations are amazing. I especially enjoy the "Woodside". It's purple yam ice cream, with toasted coconut and mochi marshmallows. Simply breathtaking! Their vegan selections are amazing even to non-vegans. The workers have also been very pleasant every time I've been here, which, as we all know, keeps customers coming back. Can't wait to start coming again once it gets warmer out!

I've only been to their Chinatown LES location a few times since their opening a few years ago and was happily surprised to see a location in Kips Bay. I'm a big fan of soft serve ice cream and after the hype about Ube a few years ago, I always think about it. I'm so glad there's a location closer to midtown. I got two flavors - the Ube and black sesame (can't see the latter since they had to put one swirl on top of the other) and mochi. Both were delicious and the flavor was on point. They have about 12 seats inside (3 tables of 4) and it was bright and clean. My friend and I were the only customers the time we were there.

It's a cute little ice cream shop. The flavors seemed interesting, but when I got there, they were out of the strawberry lychee, which was a bummer because that was the flavor that most piqued my interest. I got the vegan ube instead and added cotton candy crunch topping and some gummy bears on the side. The vegan ube was honestly kind of underwhelming, and overall, the experience was just "meh, it's ice cream." For the price, you might as well check out Tipsy Scoops around the corner or just find a Baskin Robbins.

Cute little ice cream place with interesting flavors! I've been to their LES location years ago and loved their matcha and ube flavor soft serve. Came to this location on a whim. I was sad that they were sold out of black sesame when I went! I was having a hard deciding which flavor to get until I saw the Hong Kong Milk Tea flavor! Although it's not soft serve, and they only had it in pint - it has my name written on it and I had to try it! Glad I did! It was decent and you could definitely taste that unique HK Milk Tea flavor- wish it's stronger though! The inside has about 3 tables if you wanna dine in.

Great service, no lines was in and out. Staff were friendly and pleasant. They allowed me to try a sample before purchasing. Good soft serve melts very fast. I tried the Ube purple yam and vanilla w. Fruity pebbles and sprinkles. Overall Pretty good, satisfied my ice cream craving that I was having at the moment.

Come here with some friends for some delicious ice cream and unique flavors! Food: this place has some really cool flavors like black sesame, Ube, and hot chocolate flavored ice cream! We sampled a few of them - and the black sesame and Ube were really good and different! (They are also very generous with samples). I ended up going for a simpler signature dish! I got the strawberry shortcake which is vanilla with star berry drizzle, vanilla wafers and fresh strawberries. They didn't have strawberries so we replaced it with mochi (a great trade in my opinion). I really enjoyed it and it ended up tasting like strawberry nesquixk milk at one point which was great! I would come back and order an ube or black sesame signature next time! Soft serve. Asian flavors. What more could you possibly ask for? I read some reviews that said they stopped giving samples because of COVID, but they're back! We tried the ube and milk tea flavors; the ube is great (ended up getting it), but the milk tea sample, though it had a strong authentic tea flavor, it had just as strong of an aftertaste. I ended up getting an ube/matcha swirl with rainbow sprinkles. In general? Amazing. The ube was so. good. There are so many places that advertise ube-flavored things but there is never enough ube in it. Soft Swerve does ube right. My complaint is going to sound so weird, but here it is: this is lukewarm soft serve. It was cold enough to uphold its shape, but once you eat it, it's just slightly warm? Just warm enough to double take....but not warm enough that it was a huge hindrance to the entire experience, ya know? The matcha was also great, but it was overpowered by the ube. When I was able to taste it, though, I appreciated what it added to the cup. ALSO. My sister got the ube/matcha swirl with toasted coconut flakes, and that topping was truly excellent. If you're trying to decide on a topping, would highly recommend the toasted coconut!

I was scared to get the vegan ube because I saw pea protein as one of the ingredients, but it was absolutely delicious and balanced, bought a whole pint because they were out of scoops. Added the mochi. Very nice workers

I always love coming here for a good soft serve! This is the ube soft serve with fruity pebbles! It's so creamy and delicious. My total was about ~9 so it's a little pricey compared to your other ice cream spots but it's so worth it. The portion is also a lot so you can definitely get a cup and share with someone else. Service was really nice! You can ask them for samples of other flavors and they're always glad to let you try!

I have been to LES location, so I knew it would be good...Today I tries new flavor mixed Thai Tea and Ube Flavor...Very tasty and creamy soft serve ice cream, they also have a variety of tippings...I usually get oreo or heath bar but today I had it naked.

When your wife wants Ube soft serve, there is only one place to go - Soft Swerve. It's nice not to have to trek down to the Chinatown area to get this so the Kips Bay outpost is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The menu is very similar to the one downtown although I feel that this location has more mainstream flavors than the OG spot. Black sesame on a cinnamon cone is my go to and it was without a doubt excellent. Being lactose intolerant is my curse but I was willing to pay the price - which speaks to how good their ice cream is. This location is tiny so not many places to sit and eat. Service was pretty good but it was slow on the day we went probably because the cashier was new. Prices are commensurate with most ice cream spots in the city. If you're in the area and you want something sweet, what are you waiting for?

JESUS H CHRIST this is some of the best soft serve I've ever had! I got a mix of ube and frozen hot chocolate and it was MAGICAL! The ube is perfectly balanced and not to sweet at all, and the frozen hot chocolate is more sweet but so tasteful still. The service was great, the shop is a cute little winter tundra, and the toasted almonds were to die for. They were out of a couple flavors when we went, but honestly I'm glad because I really enjoyed the flavors I got, which I wouldn't have gotten if they had the other choices available.

Don't get me wrong, the ice cream was really yummy! I just personally think it was a bit too expensive for what it is. We each paid $8 for our cups and even though you get a lot I still think that's quite overpriced for ice cream. That being said, I really enjoyed the ube soft serve and it satisfied a craving I've been having for a while!

It was my first time here. I sampled yuzu and ube. The yuzu was refreshing, the texture was a little icy, kind of like a mix of froyo and Italian ice. The ube was super smooth and creamy. The ube flavor was bold. The vanilla was creamy and smooth as well--flavor was standard vanilla.

Excellent ice cream, smooth and creamy. Great toppings that compliments the unique flavors. The toasted coconut give the ube ice cream great texture and the mochi was delicious as well. The Vietnamese coffee ice cream had a strong and authentic Vietnamese coffee flavor.

Went here late at night shortly before they closed. I ordered a small Ube/purple yam soft s(w)erve. The portion size was quite adequate for the price and the ice cream had great ube flavor though it was a bit too sweet. It melted super quickly but it was to be expected for soft serve. The guy inside was nice and I found the music a bit odd (Tephra cave from Xenoblade I think.) Definitely better than Tispy/Surreal/the closed Holey Cream. Probably slightly worse than Kaylee's in terms of Asian flavors though those flavors are even more unique. Mid/low 4. Will probably switch to a 4 later but it's a newer place so I'll maintain the high average.

Pretty decent soft serve. Something that's cool about this place is they offer Asian inspired flavors such as ube, Viet coffee, thai tea, etc. You have the option of either choosing one flavor, swirling two flavors (that are paired in the machine), or stack flavors. I wanted to go with ube and thai tea but the thai tea got broken so I ended up stacking Viet coffee on top. The flavors were good and definitely true to the taste of how Viet coffee/ube is. Only downside was that they melt pretty fast. I live less than 5 minutes away and my soft serve already started melting out of the cup by the time I got to my place. Other than that, solid choice of dessert for anyone craving a soft serve with unique flavor options!

So happy to see that there's a location nearby. It was the perfect end to my night after a warm hibachi meal. They have a great selection of interesting flavors but I was in the mood for a classic so I went with the vanilla soft serve. If you're feeling adventurous you can try their purple yam or black sesame. They also have an array of topics and special flavors combos you can try. It's also nice that they have a seating area, so you can sit and enjoy your soft serve right there. They are also letting people taste any flavor before they decide, which is helpful. Would definitely go back and try the other flavors next time around!

$6 soft serve + $0.60 sprinkles! Price is pretty comparable to other places. Good for casual ice cream on a sunny day. Love the flavors offered here. They gave a generous amount of ice cream. The two flavors are piled in separately so it may not have the Instagrammable aesthetic of mixed flavors. I personally preferred the ube much more than the milk tea because the milk tea had strong bitter tea notes. Update: Couldn't finish the milk tea ice cream but my friend thought it tasted authentic

This is their recently opened Allen Street outpost. Soft Swerve is known for their exotic flavor ice cream. Their ube ice cream was very smooth and didn't disappoint. Covid protocols were followed and service was excellent. I'm a huge fan of Cafe Du Monde coffee so I look forward to trying out their Vietnamese coffee flavor during my next visit. Highly recommended!

Review is only for the 3rd Ave location location. Not enough staff covering the night shift and there might have been some poor mixing in the kitchen. The soft serve was more like milkshake. Turned to mush quickly and essentially drank the ice cream most of the way through. Something clearly wrong with the batch.

Up until recently, Murray Hill was sort of a dessert desert. Thankfully for my sweet tooth, with the introduction of Kaylee's Creamery, Van Leeuwen, Ralph's, Surreal Creamery, Holey Cream, & Tipsy Scoop, the neighborhood is now quite flush with frozen treat options in just a few years time. This second location of Soft Swerve is just the latest sweet treat spot to grace the neighborhood, and though it was risky to open at the start of the pandemic, humid summer weather brought out all the NYers who stayed to brave these sweltering streets. Every time I've walked past their little window stand in recent weeks there's always a short line. How would I rate their soft serve? As far as soft serve goes, it's pretty good, particularly if you enjoy asian flavors like ube, black sesame, and matcha. As is the case with most soft serve, theirs melts incredibly quickly, and I find their formula just to be a tad too goopy, even for soft serve. If you can consume yours before it becomes a melty mess in your hand, the flavors they make taste great, and I almost always order ube or ube swirled with another flavor, like macapuno (coconut). I love eating frozen treats on a cone, but they only use Konery cones, which are beautiful and come in nice colors like blue and red, but the texture is just awful-- I can never bite into one without getting it stuck in my teeth. What's wrong with a simple sugar cone? When they opened their LES location a couple years back, Soft Swerve was one of the few places in Manhattan where you could get ube flavored dessert, and my ube loving self was a very frequent visitor. There was a memorable special a few years back where they served a swirl of ube soft serve on top of a coquito flavored cupcake, which is a dessert highlight of my life. These days I find myself enjoying the sturdiness and texture of ice cream over soft serve, but I think as the weather cools and melty messes are less of a concern, Soft Swerve's ube ice cream will be calling my name.

Have been wanting to go here for the longest and had the chance to today! I ordered a cinnamon waffle with Ube swirl and fruity pebbles as a topping. The texture of the icecream is so smooth and creamy. The fruity pebbles complimented the ube flavor, I enjoyed it a whole lot and was super satisfied with my order. The lady who helped us was super friendly as well while she was prepping everything which was really nice. I'm hoping to come back again soon!

Average expensive soft serve. Good if you are in the area, but not worth going out of your way.

I usually go to the Soft Swerve on Allen, but this summer, I found myself in this area a few times with a craving for ice cream. I love their ube soft serve, so I got that every time, but their other flavors (which I've had at the other location) are also great. I just wish they had also had macapuno when I was there, because that together with the ube is my favorite combo. This location is small, but it does have tables inside. There are a bunch of spots for ice cream and soft serve in this area now, but I am definitely partial to Soft Swerve because of their flavors!

The flavors I sampled were all very strong and the soft serve was smooth. I love the variety of Asian flavors. I ate the entire HK Milk Tea pint and was so happy with it. I just purchased the Oolong and Hojicha pints - haven't tried them yet, but am so excited to, given the track record of Soft Swerve. The pints are reasonably priced for premium soft serves with unique flavors, at $11/each. Would absolutely recommend!

We got the Vietnamese coffee ice cream - which was good but a little strong for me personally. But we also got the black sesame soft serve and that was amazing!

Pretty good! I got the Thai tea soft serve with heath bar crunch. After I ordered, I noticed that they had more flavors in the back that I would have opted for instead - not sure why they don't promote those. I wish they had more topping options as well - it looked like they had a few more on the menu than I saw, so again, not sure if they were hidden or what. All around it was pretty good but with so many soft serve places in the city, I would probably try others before coming back here again!

The soft serve is decent IMO but not as good as people hyped it up to be. I like that they have asian flavors like viet coffee and ube, which is what I got. They only have a few swirl combos but you can just ask them to stack the flavors on top of each other if they don't have the swirl combo you want (no extra cost). I thought viet coffee was pretty good and I liked how it wasn't that sweet. But I thought the ube was meh compared to other ube soft serve I've had.

A hidden gem in Kips Bay! Don't walk too fast on the east side of 3rd Ave, or you might miss it. Soft Swerve has a tiny storefront up the block from Gem Saloon. But don't let the size of the shop fool you - their ice cream is PACKED with flavor. I had the ube purple yam, and it was delicious. Smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. Absolute YUM! I had ube with toasted coconut and mochi and my husband had matcha with dark chocolate and Oreo. Tbh I wasn't a fan of his, the Oreo tasted like coffee grounds. But he loved it! My ice cream was delicious! Loved the toasted coconut. Great, satisfying portion. Will definitely return to try the other flavors.

Not a long wait, quick friendly service. There's about 4 small tables inside, which is a big plus over many other similar places. The Woodside, ube soft serve with toasted coconut chips and mochi was my favorite. For sugar lovers, the similar rendition with fruity pebbles and lucky charms marshmallows was also good. Plenty of good bars and restaurants nearby. Be sure to save room for dessert and stop by!

SO FREAKING GOOD-if you guys haven't gone you're missing out. I know a lot of places haven't been doing samples since covid which is completely understandable. The employee working was so kind and offered us samples since it was our first time here. Every flavor we had was so good-ube, Thai tea and black sesame. It tasted exactly like those flavors. We ended up getting the ube and black sesame flavors since those flavors are harder to get back home. They will ask you which flavor you want on the top or bottom but we had no preference. Give them a try at either location!
