Softea Dessert Bar Review - Fort Lauderdale - Miami - The Infatuation

"Softea is a casual little soft serve and bobba spot in Fort Lauderdale’s MASS District. You can come here just for ice cream or just for tea—but they also combine the two for some very tasty creations. We like the Coco My Taro, a cup of taro soft serve, coconut milk tea, and boba that eventually turns into a sort of milkshake if you’re not a fast eater. There’s not a lot of seating inside the shop, so you may have to take this to go.  " - Ryan Pfeffer

Yelp
OMG! Seriously delicious! I'm not a huge Boba fan, but the pictures on Instagram definitely peaked my interest. I tried the 'All Thai'd Up" and it was so very good. It literally reminded me of Nilla Wafer cookies. I loved it. They do offer samples of the soft serve ice cream if you're not sure what flavor you would like. If you don't want the drinks, you can just order ice cream by itself. Check them out!

Yelp
I love boba and I tried both their Milk Teas and their Slushes. Classic bobas(Tapioca) go with Milk teas and Fruit bobas go better with Slushes. I had Mango slush with the passion fruit boba and their Matcha milk tea with the tapioca boba. Both were great. They use comparatively less chemicals and artificial ingredients than other boba places in the area. The slushes were made with real fruit. Service was quick and the space was clean. I went for a take out but there is a small parking lot behind the store and a big city lot on the other side of the street from this business center.

Yelp
Clean store, great selection of flavor and also had non-dairy! Service was polite and fast, has photo op area with sign. I had my usual taro milk tea and it was great. Parking is tricky, it shares a lot with different businesses but there is a bigger lot down the street.

Yelp
I finally made it to softea and it did not disappoint. It's in the very cute Flagler Village, which has convenient but limited parking and several businesses with cool murals. When I entered, the person working welcomed me, made sure I had a menu, and offered to help if I had questions or needed to taste anything. I had the par-tea, which had earl grey soft serve, thai milk tea, boba, and a biscoff. It was a great choice. I'd definitely return if in the area.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for a long time and try the soft ice cream. I bought a Groupon for 2 large softeas. I love the different flavors, Asian influences, Taro, Matcha, Thai ice tea, lychee. They let you have samples so you can try them. Their softea is a combination of boba, tea and then soft ice cream all in 1 cup, in that order. It's kind of cool to reach the tea after the ice cream. You can choose from different teas as well (coconut milk, taro milk). They sell hard ice cream and various boba teas.

Yelp
Softea Dessert Bar @softeadessert Ft.Lauderdale, FL So many tasty dessert options made with authentic Asian Flavors. Quick service in a chill ambiance. Boba and soft serve were meant for each other! My creation was made of Taro milk tea, Boba, lychee soft serve, and match soft serve, topped with a graham cracker. Have you been to Softea yet? #softeadessertbar #fortlauderdale #AsianFlavors #lychee #matcha #softserve #Boba #icecream #Taro #milktea #dessertbar #Broward #letsdrinkz #eatzwithsweetz #letseatz

Yelp
BOBA BOBA BOBA...Cool tea bar with an array of flavors and tapioca or poppy Boba. We ordered a Passion Fruit Tea with Mango/Strawberry Boba. It was light and refreshing. They offer soft or hard ice cream too. Very clean modern zen atmosphere shop. Free parking on Sundays.

Yelp
I'm a softy when it comes to Softea What a good idea to add soft serve with some milk tea Came in and got greeted The service here might be undefeated So patient and kind I couldn't make up my mind So I made my own softea With Matcha milk tea Honey dew soft serve and biscoff cookie It was amazing but hard to finish I recommend sharing it The mango green tea came off a bit sour Added tapioca and lychee jelly for power Overall my experience was 4 But I'll definitely come back for more

Yelp
My favorite dessert bar in the area. They just have the best flavors. The drink and ice cream selections were perfect. You can't go wrong with their earl grey, matcha or Thai tea flavors. Drinks are made fresh and the ice cream tasted natural. It's a small dessert bar with limited seating. The service was quick and there were always 3 employees working when I arrived. This place was so good I went 2 times the 3 days I was here.

Yelp
This place is so good and I had a hard time choosing because they all sounded soo good! My husband and I split a large spring blossom which has taro tea & lychee soft serve and it is delicious! It's $11 and worth it. It's also a lot of ice cream so plenty to share. We got lychee popping pearls instead of boba since they didn't have any ready to go The tiny parking lot is shared with glitch bar and we had to wait about 5 mins on a Sunday around 9pm There's a lot across the street that I think is paid You can also get swirls of the ice cream soft serve or regular ice cream with toppings too
google avatar

Yelp
Wow this was amazing! Boba tea with soft serve and a cookie. Once it melts down a little you have yourself a milkshake. I got the coco my taro which is coconut milk and taro soft serve with a stroop waffles. I loved it. One thing is I wish there was a little more variety because a big portion (this is a small size btw) of one flavor with no chunks gets boring to me - maybe next time I'll see if I can add one of the ice cream toppings like Oreos or sprinkles. You can also get a swirl of Thai tea + honey dew, taro + earl grey, or lychee & matcha. The girls working were also very nice. They offered samples and were very approachable to ask questions. The parking lot is packed full but there's a big lot right across the street. It is $3 for one hour and you can pay on the app.
google avatar

Yelp
The soft serve was so smooth! The soft serve tasted just like milk tea drinks. I got the taro and earl grey soft serve swirled with boba... topped with Oreo crumbs. Yummy! It's a small place to grab and go. I'd go back.
google avatar

Aizabil A.

Yelp
Some of the best soft serve I've ever had! They also carry bubble teas and slushies The girl on the register was super knowledgeable with describing the flavors, but Highly recommend sampling to find the perfect fit for your taste buds! I got earl grey and melon, absolutely delicious

Yelp
Asian-inspired flavored soft serve ice cream might be my new favorite treat. I was warmly greeted upon entering and offered help with any questions. I left the decision to the experts, who suggested some great options. I chose the Taro and Earl Grey soft serve swirl with graham crackers, which had a perfectly balanced sweetness. Wow! What a delight! I can't wait to bring everyone here!

Yelp
I'm so glad I finally made it hear after hearing amazing things and having it bookmarked for so long! If you love ice-cream, Asian flavors, and unique finds, you NEED to come here. Think ice-cream floats, but with an Asian twist. The ice-cream has different flavors (Thai tea, lychee, ube, etc), substitute milk tea instead of soda, and add boba as the topping. It's just as amazing as it sounds. They have signature creations, or you can build your own. I have a pretty intense Thai tea addiction, so I went with that one and I would highly recommend it. It came with a vanilla wafer, which complemented it perfectly. The inside is cute too, and the location in the same shopping center as Glitch, Blueprint, Clean Your Dirty Face, and a bunch of other awesome places is really nice too. It's a little expensive for ice-cream, but the quality is worth it for a treat.
google avatar

Candy C.

Yelp
What amazing flavor! I got the par-tea option which is earl grey soft serve and Thai tea with boba. It is located in a cute trendy plaza.
google avatar

Jenny L.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place after hearing about it from friends. I was in the plaza for a facial next door and noticed this place was in the same place. There was no wait since I was there on a Tuesday afternoon. The inside is clean with open spacing. I went with their Thai tea & honeydew swirl soft serve. It was delicious!

Yelp
Worth a try, softserve flavors true to taste. A first softserve serve shop with unique flavors that are on the regular menu. Loved the Thai tea and Taro flavor, Lychee was good as well but got a little too sweet it drowned the Taro flavor in the swirl. Limited seating so most likely you'll have to eat or drink your treat outside on a busy day. We came around 8pm on a Saturday & it wasn't packed. Simple basic ambiance, service was basic as well & not much info offered.
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
Came in on a late Sunday night for dessert. Got the earl grey and taro swirl- creamy with good flavor! But juuust a bit too sweet for me. The employee was kind enough to let us try before we committed and we tested the lychee one- even more sweet than what we ended up going with. In a nice lively area. Would come back to try some more flavors bc I think they're pretty unique!
google avatar

Yelp
Fresh new take on soft serve ice cream and boba. The combination together is delicious and unique. Will def be back and bringing friends next time
google avatar

Ashley J.

Yelp
Lovely spot. They have a couple of vegan options like the mango sorbet and many fruit teas. I got the passion green tea and it was really good. It's a bit sweet so I would ask for less sweetness next time. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
I wish I understood all the 5 stars. We have been wanting to try Softea for some time and timing worked in our favor today so we waited for them to open and gave it a try. My daughter and I tried a small Thai'd Up. It was okay. It didn't have a strong flavor that made me feel it was something different than a vanilla ice cream sitting in tea. Pros: the small is plenty big. The store is super clean. Cons: parking can be a problem. They are a little pricey, the small was a little less than $10. We were able to share it, so it wasn't too bad. Service was okay. It wasn't super friendly and it would have been nice to be guided, the person at the register just looked at us until we decided on our own. All in all, it was a one and done for me. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't a 5 star experience to us.

Yelp
Softea is In a nice location. I believe this is one of the only places in south Florida that does asian flavored soft serves, besides Jade Tea. However, there are more soft serve options here. I've been here twice and I've had the earl gray and Thai tea soft serve. Both are excellent, but I. will lean towards the Thai tea, because thats my jam. They also have ice cream and boba here, but the go to and reason you come is for the soft serve. The drink I had, was the boba + soft serve mix, the all Thai'd up, which comes with the soft serve on top of the drink + boba. They also have the build your own. But on to my drink, the Thai tea soft serve again was excellent, the actual Thai tea drink was okay, not the best I've had, the boba's were also on the small side. Overall, softea dessert bar is definitely worth a visit especially to try all their soft serve flavors. Also when getting the mixes, make sure you get a small, as that is even huge unless you come on an empty stomach.

Yelp
great concept for soft serve, it's like boba tea and carvel had a baby. staff is always super nice and helpful whenever i go. i've only gotten the "all thai'd up" menu item, which is thai milk tea, thai tea soft serve, a nilla wafer, and tapioca boba, i love it. however, last time i was a little disappointed they didn't have tapioca boba, so i got strawberry boba and it wasnt as good. also, the ice cream is very very soft and melts really fast, just fyi. cant wait to come back ! (ps i know they specialize in asian inspired flavors, but i do wish they had vanilla !)

Yelp
This review is based on the fact that every single time I have gone into this establishment they have a sign that says out of order on the restroom.. Its a complete lie as you can see in the two pictures I will post. One from today and one I found in someone elses posted pictures. Today I was on a long car ride and had to go so bad and I was furious that I saw this sign once again ( that's why I'm writing this) As a person that has had to also live with a colostomy bag for years... bathroom access is very important. So softtea... if your trying to keep out the straglers that's one thing but at least let your customers have access to it!!!

Yelp
The most amazing soft serve ice cream. I was so excited to try this spot after my sister raved about it. The attendants were very friendly and asked if what flavors I wanted to try. I tried the Thai, lychee and taro soft serve ice cream. They were all amazing. My favorite is the lychee and the taro. The soft serve was creamy and the unique flavors were prominent throughout. You can get the bubble tea combo with soft serve ice cream on top with boba on the bottom and graham cracker on top. The ambiance is pretty chill and laid back. Nice place to grab ice cream with the family. Came back the next day to try another flavor. It was that good

Yelp
Soft serve and boba? Look no further. This is the place for you! I've never had soft serve thai tea flavored ice cream, but boy was I pleasantly surprised. They're unique flavor combinations. They were absolutely delicious both the strawberry swirl and the Thai tea swirl. I opted to get it in a cone because the cone was salted caramel flavor, and it was so delicious. I didn't try the boba, but I could imagine it's equally delicious. They have pre made softea concoctions that sounded delicious, but I wasn't hungry enough, so I'm saving that for my next visit! They also had your typical ice cream but that wasn't why I went, you have to try their boba or soft serve! Located in the busy Flagler village area, be prepared to have a hard time finding parking. We went on a Sunday late afternoon so we didn't have trouble but I can imagine during peak hours parking is hard to come by.
google avatar

C L.

Yelp
The ice cream was sweet and the boba was still chewy despite being in frozen ice cream. Staff could have been a little more friendly but we did go towards the end of the night on a weekend so the experience might have been different during the day. the decor was very nice and seating is limited.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious and wonderful variety. The soft serve with boba as our absolute favorite. We will definitely return.

Yelp
As a total boba addict, I was in the area and searching for boba. I'm so glad I happened upon this super unique and cute place! When I heard that they are serving boba and ice cream together, how could I resist?! We tried the Taro coconut flavor with boba and it was so delicious! It is basically drinkable coconut tea with boba on the bottom with taro soft serve on top! Not only did this drink taste great, it also looked super cute and colorful! This is defiantly a place worth visiting! The parking situation was a bit crazy though, but we were lucky enough to find a spot as someone was pulling out. Otherwise, you may need to drive around a bit to find parking. Overall, a great place for dessert and boba!
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Great bubble tea/soft icecream place! Love going there with the family. The icecream, bubbles and tea are very good.
google avatar

Tena W.

Yelp
So good! The soft serve flavors and topping selections are amazing. Adding the boba is a must, but be prepared to potentially wait up to 20mins for a new batch. Presentation and portions are on point. Maybe consider sharing because they're big! They have ice cream, soft serve and teas. Lots of variety. Cute area to eat outside and other restaurants and a video game bar that's open in the evening is also in the same little plaza. Great spot to hang out, enjoy and relax!
google avatar

Bao N.

Yelp
Cute small dessert shop. They have a few premade combination options if you want something more than a single flavor soft serve. They give samples of their soft serve and ice cream so you can try and make your own combination if you wanted. The desserts are delicious and amazing service. The parking kinda sucks though. If you want free parking in front of the store it's difficult because there's a bar that shares the lot and it's normally full. You can pay for parking at a lot nearby. The earl grey soft serve with the biscoff cookie weirdly somehow taste like fruit loops and now I'm hooked!
google avatar

Atira S.

Yelp
Stop reading this and drive to Softea right now. Trust me, it's worth it. We entered and were greeted by the friendly employee. We had some questions about the menu, and she immediately offered to let us sample! As soon as we sampled the soft serve, we knew that's what we had to get. We ordered a Build Your Own Softea with original milk tea, boba, and earl grey vanilla soft serve. It was 10/10. The soft serve was the perfect amount of sweetness and creaminess. It did not feel like a heavy dessert at all. The original milk tea was perfect, and the boba had just the right amount of chewiness. It was one of the best desserts I've had in a long time! I cannot wait to be back!!
google avatar

Yelp
First off, I'd consider myself an ice cream/frozen yogurt connoisseur. I was so excited to get here, and loved the idea that there was frozen yogurt combined with Boba But... This is a perfect example of an amazing business that has so much potential, but the people that work there ruin it. I'm not from here and it never been there before. I was very excited so I wanted to try a couple of flavors and ask a few questions. I'm not annoying and I was asking genuine questions, the girl there made me feel so stupid and took the joy out of experiencing this place. Other than her attitude, though, the soft serve was incredible, every flavor, depending on what your mood is, that day, is a great choice.
google avatar

Karina A.

Yelp
All I have to say is I'm obsessed with this place & if you haven't tried it you need to! The Taro ice cream is to die for & paired perfectly with the soft mochi & crunchy salted caramel cone. The Matcha & Taro swirl is great for someone who loves Matcha but doesn't like their ice cream too sweet since the matcha flavor offsets the sweetness of the Taro. The Strawberry & Coconut Swirl had a delicious natural strawberry flavor, it was thick & creamy. The fruity pebbles provided a great crunch to the soft serve ice cream. I will never be in Ft. Lauderdale without making a stop here for ice cream!
google avatar

Stephanie A.

Yelp
Not my first time in, and definitely not my last. I love the mix and match flavour options and how soft and delicious the boba is. I got the small and still shared it with my husband. The spot is in a cute little area. It has limited seated but you can always grab it to go. When I got in there were about 5 people ahead of me , but the girls behind the counter were quick and efficient and thanked me for my patience.
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
Matcha and taro ice cream with boba at the bottom and a cracker. So yummy and cool place. Next to glitch bar so you can hop to the aracade right after.
google avatar

Nina C.

Yelp
This place is in walking distance from my best friend's new apartment and she recommended we go here and I am raving about it. They are open until 1030, which is pretty good, and they serve all the way up until the last minute. I opted for the Ube coconut ice cream off their creations menu with black Boba, and it was delicious, my friend had the Matcha with strawberry, and it was also so yummy. the Ube ice cream is so rich and easy to love and the coconut at the bottom is a treat to fight for. A word to the wise: i tried to use a spoon for this and couldn't keep up- one of their thick straws is the best option. The little treat they offer that sticks out of the ice cream is your choice of Stroop waffle Biscoff cookie etc and makes a great little crunchy element to the snack. These ice creams are huge, we both got smalls, but in the end would have shared one larger one. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Was browsing through dessert shops near me and this popped up. Never heard of it and it looked so good, so thought I will try it. I am glad that I tried this place. The concept is boba milk tea with softy ice cream on top. I was kind of full from dinner so I just got a softy. I got their taro flavor and it was delicious. Will be back to try more of their flavors. They also have regular ice cream, I sampled their strawberry cheesecake and it was delicious as well. There is ample amount of parking outside the shop.

Yelp
Finally checked this one off of the list and it didn't disappoint! I asked to try to matcha and Earl Grey tea soft serves and it was such a hard decision to pick a flavor. The matcha was probably one of the best I've tried, but I've never seen an Earl Grey flavor before, so I went with that. It was sweet, and tasted like a better version of the tea, and I got it with a biscoff cookie. I tried to take a picture of the presentation, but the cookie immediately slid off and I had to put the cone in a cup. Unfortunately I didn't get any stellar pictures, but hopefully this review is enough to convince people to visit!
google avatar

My-Oanh N.

Yelp
Ugh so good! I love when tea flavored desserts actually taste like TEA! I had the Par-Tea. It's earl gray soft serve in Thai tea with boba at the bottom. It comes with a biscoff cookie but I asked to sub for a stroopwaffle, which they were happy to do. The serving size is huge. I finished maybe half before I was too full. I was able to try the Thai tea soft serve as well. It was SO good. I can't wait to come back and try more flavors.
google avatar

Yvonette I.

Yelp
The space is cute. It's small and cozy I had the taro tea and it was delicious. It was creamy and the right amount of sweetness. The young lady who helped me was pleasant. I do encourage others to visit this spot. Parking is difficult in this area. Be prepared to pay for parking. Try to visit when it rain ( since Floridian don't leave their when it raor Sundays.

Yelp
Amazing concept, great ice cream, unique flavors, open late nights, great location! Delicious Soft Serve Ice Cream I had the most nostalgic experience with the Taro Soft Serve Ice Cream. It reminded me of my summers in NYC chasing the Mr. Softee Ice Cream truck down the block for a vanilla soft serve. The Taro ice cream was creamy, smooth, and delicious. I enjoyed every lick. The Taro flavor was subtle, and the lychee and Boba was a great addition to the ice cream. In addition to ice cream, they serve a variety of milk teas, and milk teas topped with ice cream hence the name softea. They have various toppings, boba and jelly. One person in my party ordered the Thai Tea Softea with boba and it was also very good. Its a Thai milk tea with boba served with a Thai milk tea flavored soft serve. Delicious! Seating: The ice cream Parlor is small and cozy. They have a few barstools to sit and enjoy your sweet treats. Or, you can walk around Flager Village and enjoy the city views. There's lots to do in the area. Parking: There are lots of street parking as well as parking lots that surround the area. Staff: The staff was friendly. They played music, and were having fun while working. They enjoyed being there which allowed the customers to enjoy the space as well. Overall: Really cool spot, Great Ice Cream, Unique flavors, I enjoyed my experience and will definitely visit frequently.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday afternoon after leaving the facial spot in the plaza. This a cute dessert/ice cream spot with a lot of unique flavors. I was curious on some and the gentleman behind the counter gave me to try them. We ordered 2 green tea mango with lychee popping and strawberry popping. They were refreshing and delicious. Looks ver nice and clean inside and I will be back to try some of the signature soft serve cups.
google avatar

Yelp
Boba and soft serve is a combo that I never knew I needed, but wow is it good! I ordered the All Thai'd Up, while my friend ordered the It's A Par-tea. I think the Thai tea soft serve could've had a slightly stronger tea flavor but the earl grey soft serve was fantastic, definitely my favorite of the two! I also really like that the milk tea portion of the drink is made less sweet - it balances out super well with the ice cream. Softea offers such a unique twist on traditional boba. I love that they have a build your own option, and will definitely be back to try their flavored cones with their delicious soft serve.
google avatar

Cheyenne R.

Yelp
If I could give this place 100/100 I would! This is by far some of the BEST ICE CREAM I have ever had! Not to mention the option to add boba definitely took the experience to the next level. The ice cream is so smooth and creamy. I also love the fact that the flavors are similar to the flavors in a typical boba Tea shop. Love Love Love

Yelp
Such a yummy and unique cold treat! I thoroughly enjoyed the taro tea soft serve. Cool music playing the background, plenty of seating in or outdoors, and the customer service was very helpful.

Yelp
Stumbled across this while in the area. The staff here were nice and let me sample different flavors. Ive never tried anything like it before so I was glad it was a good first experience. I ordered the signature All Thai'd Up Softtea, OMG so delicious! It is a good amount, I couldn't finish.
