I chose to eat at Sohobite in JFK because it was the only spot I could find with a keto-friendly menu. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
I ordered a simple salad, mostly leafy greens with just a few small pieces of chicken. Along with a bottle of water, the total came to $36.92 — which is already excessive for what felt like a prepackaged meal you could buy at a grocery store.
The worst part, however, was the service. While using the tip screen on the payment tablet, I accidentally tapped to confirm before entering the intended amount. I fly often and always try to tip generously for good service, but the server reacted with a visibly irritated attitude and muttered something unpleasant under her breath. She even handed me the receipt in a dismissive and rude way.
When you charge this much for such basic food, the least you can offer is respect and kindness to your customers. Sadly, that was missing here.
