Soho

"Situated in the heart of the historic centre just a stone’s throw from the aquarium, this designer-style restaurant has retained some of the palazzo’s historic features. Specialities here range from raw fish dishes to classic favourites such as a reinterpreted version of “cappon magro” (seafood salad). The surprise tasting menus are particularly popular." - Michelin Inspector

Great fish dishes like the Porn star ceviche di frutti di mare & frutta della passione, or the Rissotto, gamberi rossi, lime & Champagne had incredible aromas and the right texture in an elegant display of flavors and forms. Even the desserts were excellent and wines quite good. Friendly service

Everything was amazing. Service was phenomenal. They were very attentive and kind. The food was amazing. Get the Greek salad it was the best and so refreshing. Also the pesto was amazing!!! Ronnie(Ronaldo) was our server, shout out to him. The man in the bar was also very kind he made us some cool drinks (Kladee). Definitely coming back. Also bread is so amazing not like the other restaurants that have hard bread.

This has to be one if not the best restaurant in Genova. Everything was excellent!! The food was incredible. It is expensive, though, compared to Genova standards.

This was an excellent experience! Wonderful food and perfect atmosphere. We sat outside to people watch and enjoy the nice day. We had the ahi appetizer, shellfish fettuccine, and the prawn risotto. Delicious! What a wonderful surprise.

Soho in Genova offers a stylish, modern setting with outstanding fresh seafood dishes. Highlights include the slow-cooked octopus and creative takes on traditional recipes like “cappon magro.” With excellent service and a lively atmosphere, it’s a top choice for seafood lovers visiting the city.

The service was good and the personnel was very friendly. However, the food was painfully average for the price we paid. It really seems like it was trying too hard for fine dining without actually reaching for it because the dishes, both the presentation and the flavors, left me very perplexed. Some parts of it were good, but overall it was very underwhelming for what the restaurant aimed for (and the consequent price tag). Not a bad experience per se, just a disappointing one. We struggled to understand the praise surrounding this restaurant, despite having chosen the most popular dishes.

A veeery beautiful place we spent birthday in 🥰 Ambience and atmosphere, Xmas decorations, lights, friendly, kind and attentive waiters, short waiting times (food), big and tasty dishes - all in one 🙌 Be attentive - the main dishes are really HUGE!!! do not order several main dishes like we did (we couldn’t finish even a half 🙈)! Highly recommended place in Genua, many thanks to all who made this evening happen here 🙏✨ P.S. 4 stars are just my private preferences in food taste combinations and kind of music (I prefer more romantic or slow lounge one instead of club lounge music) but the place deserves the very best feedback!🙌

We stumbled across this restaurant for a late lunch and it was amazing! The ravioli was perfect, and the seafood was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious! Posting pictures and I assure you it is as delicious as it looks! They do speak English and had a menu in English as well, and the prices were quite reasonable. We had to hustle because they were closing in an hour, but it was totally worth it! Go there! :)

Yelp
Very trendy and aesthetically pleasing restaurant down a quiet alley. They had enough people working but somehow server seemed harried. Ordered the salad with salmon (thankfully it was smoked salmon). Salad was very fresh and tasty with oil and vinegar. Also ordered the pumpkin ravioli which was delicious. If you are American like me don't expect the usual salad dressing and don't expect the ravioli to be saucy. It was tossed in sage brown butter. Was a little on the pricey side for the type of quick dinner I wanted so I skipped starter, wine and dessert. Total $41. I did not leave a tip because it is not a tipping culture.

Yelp
Really good seafood and wine menu. The service was great the only issue was our server pushing a super expensive dry wine when we asked for anything but dry. Luckily the bartender heard my girlfriend asking for something not dry and stepped in to correct the waiter. Duck was 1/5 Mixed seafood app was 5/5 be sure to ask for larger portion

Yelp
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Staff super friendly to a non Italian speaker. Two great dishes for dinner. Nice wine. Definitely a go if you're in Genoa.

Yelp
Food overall was okay. The salmon was the best dish but did not have much flavor. I probably would not return as I feel it was overpriced for the actual value and quality of food we received. 2/3 members of our party were served their entrees and we assumed the risotto and cuddle fish was taking a bit longer to make. 20 minutes later, our 3rd entree had still not come. There was some sort of a mix up in communication between the chef and the waiter. The chef did eventually prepare the final dish (cuddle fish) which ended up being over cooked and chewy. It was apparent they rushed to make the risotto and fish. The ambiance was nice with tables outside and good lighting, but the ambiance alone is not enough to make me and my party return.

Yelp
This seafood was awesome. Great atmosphere sitting outside in Genoa. They squeezed us in w/o a reservation and were prompt with service ...unlike many restaurants in Italy. My wife loved her desert!

The most amazing experience! Delicious everything! Fish is very fresh, seasonings well thought out. Atmosphere very modern romantic. Service is excellent. Wine selection wonderful. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This was the worst food I've had in all of Italy. My fish was over cooked to the point of being hard rubber. Everything was also incredibly salty. To make matters worse they forgot to bring out my dish with the rest of the party. Staff was too busy socializing to notice, and I wasn't able to get my food until after the rest of my party had finished. I recommend going anywhere else. I also didn't see a single local here, save yourself.

Yelp
On my recent eleven day trip to Italy, Ristorante Soho was the best restaurant we visited. It was so delectable that we went back for a second visit. This region of Italy is known for it's pesto and fresh seafood and Soho excels at both. You have three seating options in Soho: outdoor tables, indoor tables on the first floor, or seating in the cellar level among the wine (my favorite choice). A few of the dishes we tried and loved: Pesto Gnocchi - The pesto is simply amazing and has some nice subtleties. The gnocchi is soft, creamy, and heavenly. Calamari with pesto and a polenta cake. - The calamari is fresh, the pesto and polenta are excellent. Duck Breast with Sautéed Spinach and Barolo Wine Berry Sauce - Simply Delizioso! Soft, tender duck and the sauce is sweet, but not too sweet and flavorful. Filet of Orata - this white fish is tender, moist, fresh, and delightful atop a bed of sautéed veggies. Calamari with asparagus sauce - The calamari is grilled perfectly with a nice smoky flavor. The asparagus sauce is creamy, buttery, and amazing. The Sorbetto with fruit sauce - Simply one of the best sorbets I've ever eaten. It's bursting with flavor. And they also have a great selection of Italian wines from many regions. This ristorante offers various combination meals in which you'll be treated to the traditional Italian-style 3-course dinner plus dessert. I highly recommend you eat your three courses this way for the great price and because you really should sample more of Soho's wonderful cuisine. If I ever find myself in Genoa again, I will be back. Ciao! Gratzie!

Yelp
Went there for dinner as we were staying tight across the street. All the dishes were super salty. Very hard to eat. We've been yo may places in Genova and dishes were not this salty as this place. Service was ok.

Yelp
We came to Genoa and of course, all we wanted was some good pasta and drinks and that's exactly what we found! We stumbled into this Michelin star restaurant and was blown away first by their quick and efficient service then by their Salmon/wasabi starter and finally the pesto pasta! Our server Pochan was charming, fast, helpful and made sure our meal was everything it could be ! Thank you Soho for a wonderful experience!!!

Yelp
A very touristic restaurant, but still excellent. The food was wonderful, the service quick and friendly (almost all of the staff could communicate well in English too), and the price was reasonable. The fish was all very fresh and the pastas were made on location by hand. We were initially turned off by the decor, which does nothing to disguise the touristic nature of the restaurant, but once we saw the menu options (translated into half a dozen languages), we were hooked. The chefs did not fail to deliver and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Try to sit outside if possible, as we were stuck indoors and had to listen to the same cd on loop...

Yelp
The restaurant is close to the new marina in Genoa, a block away from the main street. The food is typical Northern Italy with a good mixture of seafood and pasta. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of locals come here for dinner, which is always a great recommendation. We had fresh seafood for appetizer and a mixture of pasta dishes for the main dish. We finished off with fresh fruit and baked goods. All the dishes came at a good pace, were tasty and fresh. The food and service was spectacular and certainly good back next time I'm in Genoa.

Yelp
This place deserves its accolades. Beautifully prepared and presented food. We had the special lunch of a seafood pasta and a second of grilled fish, arranged in a lovely stack! Also had the red shrimp risotto. Unbelievably delicious. Definitely is one to put on your fine dining list for Genoa.

Yelp
Excellent service, ambience, & high quality pasta and fish dishes. Only complaint is that the seasonings were a little off. Pasta was too salty and the raw fish tasting did not have enough of sauces to accent the fish.

Chip C.

Yelp
Chose this restaurant based on the rave reviews. The initial experience was positive with prompt seating and ordering. Unfortunately they served my wife's meal with my appetizer then didn't return to the table or anywhere where we were seated for 30 minutes. We assumed they had forgotten my main course. They did serve it cold eventually. Then waited an additional 20 minutes

Yelp
I came to SoHo a few years ago for a pre dinner drink (aperitivo). I paid 10 euro for a glass of white wine and a plate of raw seafood. Great experience, which I would rate 5 stars. Being in Genoa for a few days on vacation I decided to repeat the experience. I came to SoHo last Friday for the "aperitivo", but it was too early as they start serving it at 6. No problem, I came back yesterday. Another guy greeted me, but this time I was told they don't serve "aperitivo" and have never served it. I said that I had it a few times in the past and that some days earlier I was told I was early for it. He acted surprised as if I was crazy. I was embarrassed and left disappointed. I was really looking forward to have my plate and my glass. I believe that the waiter was not trained to serve "apertivo": probably if I had asked for a plate a raw seafood and a glass of white wine they would have served, but I left anyway as I felt somewhat insulted.

Yelp
arrived in Genoa late at night starving and our local B&B host suggest we try Soho just around the corner. Whilst we first became concerned about the unsavoury looking characters we passed by the police presence helped alleviate any concerns. Then we arrived at this lovely little cobbled street and Soho. We were welcomed and asked if we want to sit upstairs or down, we decided down. The whole menu is seafood orientated from what I could see and was very comprehensive. We had soup with scallops and cockles in vodka to start, then mixed seafood grill and stuffed calamari as mains with a poached pear in crunchy chocolate desert all very good and attentive staff.

Yelp
A couple of red flags regarding this restaurant that I should not have ignored. All signs pointed to this restaurant being a tourist trap. 1st red flag is that the menu was in at least 3-4 languages. 2nd red flag is that most workers looked middle eastern or Indian. I dont doubt that they can speak Italian, but when Im traveling to Italy i want authentic food fare. Yes Genoa is known for their pesto and seafood we decided to come here because our hotel recommended it. The food was average, it wasnt bad by any means but in no way was it as good as other italian restaurants in the area. Prices were reasonable. Space feels a bit cramped. Overall an OK place, but wouldnt recommend if craving authentic goodness.

A stunning meal. Everything fresh, cooked perfectly with subtle but amazing flavor.

Yelp
Restaurant tucked away along a piazza. Literally down the street from the famous L'Acquario. I fell in love with this place at first sight because the outdoor seating reminded me of a restaurant you would find in... well Soho (or Tribeca). Missing a bit of Manhattan during my stay in Italy and after checking out the menu. I had a bit of everything on the menu. The fish is amazingly fresh and if you sit inside, the chef cuts the fish you are about to eat in front of you (what a treat!). I had a prix fixe menu that focused on local specialties... the Calamaretti with pesto sauce was yummy. The white chocolate with pastry & blackberry/arancia sauce is INCREDIBLE... I cannot describe the entire experience without my mouth watering. If you are in Genoa or checking out restaurants prior to your trip... this place is A MUST! Also they have an amazing white wine that is grown locally... it starts with a P... (Pigate?) Anyway... my favorite!

Yelp
We went here for a quick lunch before jumping on a train. We walked by it many times in the 2 weeks we were here but finally decided to try it. The service was good, and the atmosphere was nice. It was quiet with light acoustic music. We just wanted something small so I had the starter of vegetable purée soup with scallops. I don't know if I misread the "s" at the end of scallop but I was a bit surprised when it came with 1 small scallop. It was a bit chewy and had a strong taste to it. The soup was lovely though. My boyfriend had the prawn pasta which came with 2 huge prawns and had mussels in it. You could tell the pasta was fresh. He thoroughly enjoyed it! We had a nice crisp glass of their house white wine and shared the Napoleon dessert. It was sweet and to die for. I was grateful for some light options on the menu that were complex and could be eaten as a main, and they definitely put an emphasis on their presentation. As a chef I appreciate the little touches. We would go back but I would try something else on the menu next time.
