On my recent eleven day trip to Italy, Ristorante Soho was the best restaurant we visited. It was so delectable that we went back for a second visit. This region of Italy is known for it's pesto and fresh seafood and Soho excels at both.
You have three seating options in Soho: outdoor tables, indoor tables on the first floor, or seating in the cellar level among the wine (my favorite choice).
A few of the dishes we tried and loved:
Pesto Gnocchi - The pesto is simply amazing and has some nice subtleties. The gnocchi is soft, creamy, and heavenly.
Calamari with pesto and a polenta cake. - The calamari is fresh, the pesto and polenta are excellent.
Duck Breast with Sautéed Spinach and Barolo Wine Berry Sauce - Simply Delizioso! Soft, tender duck and the sauce is sweet, but not too sweet and flavorful.
Filet of Orata - this white fish is tender, moist, fresh, and delightful atop a bed of sautéed veggies.
Calamari with asparagus sauce - The calamari is grilled perfectly with a nice smoky flavor. The asparagus sauce is creamy, buttery, and amazing.
The Sorbetto with fruit sauce - Simply one of the best sorbets I've ever eaten. It's bursting with flavor.
And they also have a great selection of Italian wines from many regions.
This ristorante offers various combination meals in which you'll be treated to the traditional Italian-style 3-course dinner plus dessert. I highly recommend you eat your three courses this way for the great price and because you really should sample more of Soho's wonderful cuisine.
If I ever find myself in Genoa again, I will be back. Ciao! Gratzie!
