What Is Soho House, the Exclusive Members-Only Club Where You Can Hang With Celebrities? | Eater

"The original three-story private club opened above a modest French restaurant in the mid-1990s; when the space became available its entrance was deemed too small for a full restaurant and proved ideal as a club entryway. It was intentionally created to feel unlike the stuffy London clubs of the day, aimed at young film and media creatives and designed to feel comfortable and lived-in." - Monica Burton

So many reviews on here for any soho house are always guests of members so I am adding my perspective as a long term member. It used to be so so good. It used to be amazing. Some of the best nights out of my life came from popping in and then it escalating into wild frenzied fun. Pre allowing anyone in for the desperate chase of money pre 2022. They used to get amazing singers and djs, a-list celebrity q&as and master classes. You could always get into those. It felt special and you felt part of a really exciting club. A home from home when travelling. There was a sweet spot where they had diversified their membership and became more inclusive but then the flood gates opened to anyone and most of the new people are rude to other members and to (lovely) staff. Now everything is tiered and shut off. You see good nights as photos and private invite only. Never any room just to hang out. It’s so frustrating. They’ve also let in some truly nasty egos - and when you look those people up they aren’t interesting. It is now a glorified chain of restaurants, with insane prices that are just greedy matched with being utterly unreliable. Not worth the membership and lots of people are leaving. There are other more fun places to go now. It will never get better. They’ve had years to sort it out. I had two good experiences in a whole year of membership. More misses than hits. RIP soho house.

Over crowded. It's impossible to find a spot to sit pretty much any night of the week which isn't fun for a number of reasons. Service suffers. Experience suffers. Additionally, they often times rent out certain rooms to private events which makes it even more of a challenge to find space.

Google
It’s a charming space but Soho House just doesn’t live up to the hype. A glorified restaurant except with terrible service, basic food and not-clean tables & furniture. A member’s club should feel more special, welcoming and looked after. Many cafes and restaurants do that better than Soho House. They should stop behaving like they are above and beyond, and instead put in the care & attention to detail to actually be so.

I loved this place. I had a great night. Good drinks and good music. The vibes were nice

I go to Soho House Greek Street all the time and honestly, I absolutely love it. The vibe is always spot on, especially on Thursday and Friday nights. The Circle Bar is definitely my favourite place to hang out. Big shoutout to Matus (I hope I spelled that right) and Escobar, they’re not just great at what they do, they’re also genuinely warm, funny, and full of good energy. Their service is flawless and they always make everyone feel welcome. Can’t recommend it enough

Went to the Yam Carriabian Diner with my frie d who is a soho house member and regular. The vibe, mains and Service where good but the starters and deserts had issues. First, the fried plantain chips where bland and I needed to add salt to each bite to get any flavour, to which the guests around me started to copy. Next, the ocra fries were well seasoned and flavourful, but many guests around me said it should have been more crispy, but were ok to me. The mains were great, some of the best chicken I've had, but since it was a sharers we did have to ask for more rice and sides ect...more chicken would have been nice. As for dessert, not a huge fan of meringue personally but it was ok, a little small though. It was nice to have the Birthday surprise candle though. In regards to drinks, the Wines and pints were what you would expect, but the cocktails were hit and miss. I ordered an Amertto Sour and Espresso Martini, and as a bartender I could tell the Espresso Martini did not use good coffee as it looked crudled when I got it. It also tasted very watery and not the velvety creamy texture you would expect. The Amertto Sour hit the mark and I heard the Negronis where good form other guests. Overall, not a bad Soho House venue and staff seamed the most personable compared to other Soho Houses and the mains (star of the show) hit the spot.

Members-only offering a discreet retreat from the hustle and bustle of Soho and the surrounding theatre district. Superbly located offering an excellent seasonal menu and a carefully curated wine list

FAKE ALCOHOL! Every time i drink alcohol in Soho house- wines or cocktails - even from 1 drink i have a terrible poisoning and headache next day - never experience this in other restaurants- they definitely have bad fake suppliers and its a huge harm to our health- its very alerting

Yelp
The rooftop is beautiful and feels a little swanky, but is fairly chill, with everyone pretending to mind their own business. Good people watching for sure. And an amazing non-alcoholic drink menu! It was super cigarette smokey, though. Apparently, the non-smoking movement hasn't reached further than the U.S. yet. Disgusting. Anyway, our server was ok, but I can't comment on the food, as this was a pit stop to kick off our evening before dinner. Fun to look at all the different cool rooms, they have.

Yelp
I would actually want to join Soho House just for this location if I lived in London. The fireplaces and big comfy armchairs knocked my socks off. A basic need of mine is to sit in here with a novel and a cup of tea every day

Yelp
My girlfriend and I were invited by a friend that is a member there. We sat on the rooftop in a great little corner table. The food was good we had the lamb chop and pasta. You can't be in your phone inside or take photos. The music was good the speakers were a little ruff sounding. Over all we enjoyed or time there and it was great for people watching.

Yelp
I took a picture that's how good this wine is, and at that price point I'll take a bottle. But we decided not to eat brunch. Let's go grab the menu and order. This is where I noticed the trend. After we sit down we are helped by the most loveliest new hire you know, the ones not jaded about serving, knowing the tip is good and we really do good in establishments like these and she's absolutely delightful. We order a smorgasbord of food cause we are really hungry at this point. & once again I shall drink. Because while I wanted the bottle I saved it till I got upstairs to order . I get the wine list Sancerre is not 86 or crossed out, not the menu or labeling it's gone; it's still there. I think ah maybe this is like xxx seasons and they have separate bars wines for each level because that's how we did it. You wouldn't have it in the restaurant but room service has it. I tell her hey I know you don't have Sancerre she says we do. I tell her actually I was just down stairs there they said you don't . She goes back and she brings me a glass of Pouilly fume , A glass I just had, and says Is this Sancerre she says yes. I feel lied to this girl started off so good I ask her again and she says yes then looks at me and says I honestly don't know I went back and this is what the bar/lead server told her. I said thank you for the honesty. I'm French. I know Sancerre and this isn't it so I appreciate you doing that I give her the newly acquired information from the last server. I ask her can you send the waiter over whose giving you wrong information. I ask that server the same question she adamant to the point of getting snappy I said okay. Its Sancerre let me get the bottle. I asked that server 5 more times that this is Sancerre. My sister times and the woman said yes slowly like I can't read. Going over the words that clearly do not read SANCERRE in any language on the bottle I say thank you. 20-35 mins later the food starts coming out, I take a picture of the bottle and the food. We ordered- two pizzas but one came later than the other and the main courses were coming so we just said hey can we cancel that pizza. . My sister can be finicky but when I saw the giant salt crystals on the sweet potato fries that we are feeding to my niece I asked our server to cancel. This is not the day, let's just wrap up this experience. The lead server comes and bold face tells me no we can't cancel it because it's coming out the kitchen (it hasn't) is coming and out are two different things. I said stop it just cancel it I wasn't in the mood to argue with a liar who doesn't know her wines or hospitality. You don't deny guests or members asking for a service unless it's unreasonable. The bill is at xxx a 24$ pizza and 2 out of a possible(never again now) 3rd membership is not gonna kill you. Did you not get the memo that you broke my laptop? Has anyone not flagged these guests as glitch guests whose experience has already been ruined and we should be doing our best to salvage it. Sidebar:Get your manager if you don't know but to be a judge, jury and executioner doesn't fall in our tip line category. It never did for as long as I worked there and here's a trades secret. They can always cancel it. I've watched guests eat a steak to the bone and complain and it gets taken off so now you're giving me a hard time about pizza. It's personal. While she was at it my sister tried to call out and she walked off and I called and said pardon me. She sucks her teeth as she walking back and now im like oh you have got to be kidding me "(I don't know my wine girl in my head; this is what we doing now so forget all the training huh cool)" I said thank you for sucking your teeth I really feel comfortable now for what i'm going to do. Here you can also tell the chef the fries are too salty. This is a treat of 1 year old while you are at it. Can you send for your manager? Melanin finally comes I say melanin because she wasn't white but she wasn't black or hispanic either most likely middle eastern descent/Persian or I could be way off but the only melanated manager I've seen came and I recount my entire experience and when I tell you faith restored. She was floor manager and the level of compassion, empathy and professionalism was what you expect from the top down. & here's why I say top down because not only was she embarrassed by how the baby, my sister, and my brother were treated on her floor but by my whole experience from the valet to the pool to the brunch and finally her dining floor. She didn't try to save face, she immediately contacted the only other minority Kimiko to the forefront and when I told you 4 bright spots she was the 4th and final. She should have been looped in from the beginning but my original statement no matter your wealth you race determines your class of treatment. You see Kimiko is the U27 Membership Manager and when things go wrong at Soho house the first thing management needs to do is inform her. follow along next

Yelp
Update 2020 This place still tries very hard to piss members off - and pulls it off quite well: Prices are still too steep, the quality of the food is so-so at the most, the place is usually over-packed and noisy. And worst: Warm champagne. I rest my case.

Yelp
My friend has a membership to the Soho House, I wanted to see what it was. I really liked this Soho house. It has couple stories, and its very beautifully decorated. They also have a pool. They have food and drinks. I think its a really beautiful place to just hang out, to meet friends or if you just want to study. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
Whether you have a good time or not really depends on what you make of it. Meaning, this private club really depends on you and the company you keep. It's hip because of the members and guests it brings. That being said, I can only say that the Soho House seriously needs a decorator. It looks worn and dated. It has potential and should not rest on it's reputation as being an exclusive club. It's still a nice break from the other clubs in the area.

Yelp
Nice little private club directly across the street from the Prince Edward Theater. Disney Tours often rents out part of the upstairs restaurant for pre-theater dinner for its groups. Nice venue and reasonable food. Seemed like mostly Americans upstairs, and it was a fun place in a great locale.

Yelp
I have now been here a few times, as a guest of members I know. For me, Soho House is a mixture of a 4 and 5 star experience. What I love (5 star): The location in the heart of Soho, behind an anonymous door. The place, the decor and the really super friendly staff. The food, the drinks and the coffee. What I don't really love (why it's not a 5 star review): It feels a bit chaotic, when you go in they send you up to a bar, or other, and it's a little confusing and not easy to find people, especially if you haven't met before. I admit I don't know if its pricey (probably) or cheap (doubt it) since I have never paid for anything whilst visiting. However I will update my review accordingly should this ever change!

Yelp
Along with the Groucho Club, Soho House must be one of the oldest of the new league of members clubs. By new league I mean those who are not exclusive to men or linked to military or secret societies. Still exclusive, though, and you generally need a recommendation in addition to the necessary dosh to become a member. This used to be a regular hangout for media types in the 90's when the area was inhabited by advertising agencies. It's to its credit that it is still going strong, if not as trendy as its younger offspringin Shoreditch. I like the fact that it has barely changed over the years despite a new lick of paint and rearranged furniture - a Soho Home as well as a House.

Yelp
So I've just celebrated my 29th birthday at this venue and the experience was totally faultless. Sure, I've been here for nibbles and the odd cosmo before, but to spend a whole evening at the house, which was fully open but a treat beyond my wildest dreams. For a start, I had all my favourite people plying me with shots, vodka and more. Yes they even gave me the bumps on the roof terrace at midnight, what a delight if not a little off-balancing. It's wonderful to have a place were you can sit by an armchair, dance to a bassline and recline on a roof terrace covered in decking and attentive staff who actually care. This doesn't happen often in London (feeling truly special) but I can honestly say I did on Sunday night, an evening organised by professional network mint-network.com amongst others. If you know a member don't procrastinate just go, forget the wanky pretension associated with private members' clubs, Soho House is something special in the epicentre of where it all happens.

Yelp
The second Soho house In London. Great building with lots of little areas. Worth a visit if you are or know a member.

Yelp
I'm teetering between 2 and 3 stars... 3 because the place itself was clean and the bars were all well-fitted. 2 because it's kind of a labyrinth and some of the spaces aren't very accommodating. The upstairs restaurant was cute, very small, when we were up it seemed like everyone around us was American, I'm not sure what that says. The 19/21 bar was where an event I was attending was staged and though the room was nice, it got a bit unbearably hot, they did jam a few too many people in but I was hoping that A/C would kick on or something instead of having a room full of guys sweating through their wovens. Some of the other bars on the other side of the building seemed interesting but the staff were a bit diva for their own good. I guess all in all, it was a bit too small for me to consider paying the membership fee. You couldn't really have a large dinner group in the restaurant... I'd go back for events if it was something I couldn't live without going to, but for a member's club in London, I was hoping for a bit more.

Yelp
First up, I'm not a member of Soho House, but I have been on a few occasions with friends and colleagues. Yes, it's a private members club, yes it's exclusive, and yes it can be a bit pretentious (but only a bit). I've experienced the group dining room (way too small for our group) food was family-serve and left a lot to be desired, though I think we were accommodated last minute, so maybe that was it. The afternoon is nice to sit and just...well think. There's plenty of people to watch and numerous media types wooing clients and actors all over the place. In the evening the place can become really crowded and quite claustrophobic at times. Head down early if you're planning on settling in for the evening. Soho House is perhaps showing its age slightly and is easily outdone by the far more modern, spacious (and come on, it has a rooftop pool) Shoreditch House. Like I said, I'm not a member, but one day - you never know...

Yelp
A great place to relax, have a nice drink, enjoy some good music, and meet some friendly people. The Soho House has a varied group of people who come across as entirely friendly compared to other private clubs. You can come in dressed down or gussied up and nobody will bat an eye. Comfortable little rooms and great staff makes me want to set up a mobile office and enjoy my day here.

Yelp
3.5 Stars This place is very cute. Great for small get-togethers. Had dinner here last month with some friends and colleagues and service was great. You definitely are treated very well. Food was good and the atmosphere reminds me of someone's house in London. Lots of rooms and a little scene/party in each room.

Yelp
I'm not a member of Soho House (or any of the clubs in the chain, for that matter), but I desperately want to be. Now that's out of the way, let me get on with my review. I've been here a few times, but always to party, never to eat. This place is snug, with many little nooks and crannies, which is actually perfect for when you want to have a private conversation, but not so good when you're trying to find someone. They've got a lovely little roof terrace, which is basically a small boxed in outside space, with zero view, but a nice area to hang out in when it gets warm. Last night, a gang of us hung out at an event in the basement and had the most amazing night. Great atmosphere, great music, great people - it was like stumbling upon a really brilliant house party that you don't want to leave. Early in the night, we were the only ones dancing and by the end of it, we had gotten everyone up on their feet - I have a vague memory of dancing on the couches with my hands in the air. Must've been a *very good* night then, eh?

Yelp
I spent two nights in a row here hanging with friends in a number of the lounge rooms at the Soho House in London. A regular at the weho club, I was impressed by how intimate the London house was, the cool clientele, great service, fun and comfortable design, and terrific location. Good drinks. Expensive of course but it is london. They need to adopt the chocolate cookies from the weho house!

Yelp
Great location and wonderful setup . It's very cozy and unpretentious . The prix fix brunch is fantastic and very well presented . I like the idea of the buffet rooms and the constant cleaning up of the table in between dishes. I wish the soho house in New York City had the same relaxed mood .
google avatar

Yelp
I seem to have been washed up to the shores of Soho House with a fair amount of regularity recently. And that is not a bad thing. I do like a private club every now and then. There typically is a better level of customer service and they tend not to attract too many nouveau riche types. The appeal of Soho house does not stop there. The intimate atmosphere, tasteful decor and just the right balance between buzzy vibe vs. the ability to maintain a conversation is brilliant. It is only a matter of time until I succumb to the membership process...

Yelp
I came as a guest of a friend of mine and while I am not nearly as cool as this place, I definitely wasnt made to feel as though I didnt belong. It is a members-only space, but the service and food isnt pretentious like I thought it would be. The servers were warm and welcoming and i thought it was so cool that there were four floors of different experiences. This is one of the older houses (Shoreditch house is more updated), but they are planning to update the place for a year and move the location for that time down the street. We started with an espresso martini, botttle of Picpoul white wine, and ordered some delicious, simple food. Flattened chicken -- easy and grilled simply and paired with roasted culiflower and rocket/parm. So delicous and not overcomplicated. The best part was really the ambience and the great service. I would absolutely come back if I had a membership...hmmmmmmmmm...am i cool enough??

Yelp
Was in town on business and family of my friend were kind enough to take me out on the town! (How's that for a connection?) Had a few expertly mixed cocktails, and then moved into another room for dinner. The burger was AMAZING. It was very expensive, but this is a private club in London. If you have someone to take you, I would recommend going.

Yelp
Latest visit to Soho House was as always, perfectly OK. Despite trying to lead us towards the a la carte menu, all in attendance went for the Fish and Chips or Shepherds Pie options. Satisfactory and comforting without being excellent. As usual, the restaurant was a bit cosier than you would probably accept outside a media club, but again it just about still works. It may no longer be the coolest of hang outs, but the hubbub of loud, earnest and self-promoting media / agency conversations carried the day!

Yelp
Is it a bit 2005 as they say? Well I still like the 'so last week squad' can go hang. Spread across numerous floors and slap bang in the centre of town, Soho House has a lot going for it as a venue and that is without the understated decor, the screening room, the handy smokers roof top areas, the tasty food, great mix of drinks and the subtle yet attentive service. All in - a very relaxed place to hang out, so long as you can get yourself a membership... Its got free Wi-Fi (natch), and is quiet enough during the afternoons to get your head down and get some work done. Handy if you find yourself stranded in the middle of town, miles from the office. Oh and on a more practical note its also got some very good event facilities - both large and small and is reasonably priced.

Yelp
I attended a film screening at Soho House a couple of weeks ago and could have sworn I'd been there before - but when I found myself wandering up and down the street confused I realised I must have been thinking of somewhere else. I found the place eventually and hurried in via the posh bar to grab a glass of wine to take in with me. A liquid refreshment or two is usually complimentary at such events but this was a pay your own way sort of night so I nipped off to the bar to make my order. After being ignored by the barman and blinked at unhelpfully by the nearest waiter, who seemed just as keen to talk to me as his colleague, I managed to grab someone's attention to request a drink. The man - some sort of maitre d' type chap - shook his head and tutted, seemingly harassed, announcing grandly that it was waiter service only and asking for my table number. When I explained I was heading to the cinema he ushered me over to a computer screen and asked what I wanted. As I glanced around to assess my surroundings I felt it prudent to ask the price before committing to anything. This did not go down well with my new friend, but then his response did not go down well with me - £9.00 for a glass of Pinot Grigio! I stared at the guy, stunned, before bursting out laughing, shaking my head and reversing sharply away from him. You're kidding!, I said, That's absolutely crazy!!. I turned on my heel and marched right out of there, tutting and exhaling loudly in a comedy fashion. It's not that I was so surprised that a private members club would charge a lot of money for alcohol - though I think Soho House is going wayyyy overboard - but that the staff seemed to think they were members of the club themselves, and therefore entitled to be incredibly rude and unhelpful to me. Perhaps they're annoyed that a glass of wine costs more than they get paid per hour - I'd be miffed if I was in that position! The cinema was nice enough but my experience in the bar left me in an unsociable mood and I had no desire to stay on after the film. Soho House, you should mind your manners.

Yelp
Love this members club. Smack bang in the middle of Soho (with a secret bar underneath, ssshhh! - you need a password) Great place to have meetings, and to eat or drink your way through meetings. It gets very busy at peak times, especially after work time and VERY loud, so if you don't like noise and in need of a quiet drink, probably not the best place for you. Good food (lovely eggs florentine mmm), nice crowd, great place to knock back champagne, and brilliant to escape the crowds of Soho in the middle of the day (if you are a member that is, and if not, have a friend who is) Their sister club Shoreditch House is even cooler, but too far out!
google avatar

Qype User (KatBro…)

Yelp
Frankly, I'm glad Soho House's glamour days are over because it means it doesn't suffer from the tosser complex of its sister, Shoreditch House. I'm a member of the whole lot, and this one is easily my favourite. I've happily whiled away afternoons working here with the very friendly, professional staff who know not to badger you, and great snacks and cocktails. Ah, the staff. I love them. I was working on the second floor in January where they've not had heating since the place opened (it would cost something ridiculous like £40k to install apparently). I was bloody freezing, and the manager went out and bought five portable heaters for the room. That was a very nice touch - although God knows why they didn't have them already, flipping Arctic. My under 27s card is probably my most treasured possession as it gives 50% off food and booze on Mondays, and I rarely come here at other times of the week unless it's a special occasion - it's bloody pricey. I don't like the circle bar and its accompanying sitting room at all and very rarely go in there. But the roof terraces are lovely places to spend an evening, the first floor snugs are my favourite places to have gossipy catch ups with friends, and it's always fun hearing snippets of people at work. If you want to star spot, by all means, go to Shoreditch House with their grumpy staff and rubbish service. That'll leave more room for me and mine to relax and enjoy the eccentric, relaxed people who do come here.

Yelp
I went there recently for a networking dinner and I have to say the food and service were of the highest quality. Naturally I'd heard of it but hadn't been before, so really didn't know what to expect. I'd recommend it to anyone organising a formal-ish dinner, good quality food & generous, and as Scottishwolf said above, subtle service.

Yelp
It's OK, not as great as it thinks it is, or the members think it is. Good place to have meetings and run into fellow TV people but to be honest could take it or leave it. Am just as happy downstairs in BKB. It is better than Century though.

Yelp
The best Soho has to offer in my opinion, great venue all be it members only, the food here is simple but quality and the bar serves great great drinks. If your in town and you can go with a member would put it on your to do list.

Yelp
Had such a ball at their Haloween Party! Shame about the power cut but it added to the feel of the evening!!!! Someone said they are closing for refurbishment- hopefully not for too long!!!

Yelp
This place wasn't quite what I expected - though that's not necessarily a bad thing! I suppose I thought as an exclusive members' club it might be a bit 'swisher' but it's actually a lot more down to earth than I'd thought. It's also a complete maze - we went up two flights of stairs and through two doors before we found another human being, let alone where we were trying to get to! On this visit that was the mini cinema room for a private film screening, which was up on the third floor of the townhouse (I think... lost count of the stairs after a while!). It probably seated about 35 people and was nice and cosy but a few broken chairs dotted around had my sister and I playing musical chairs a few times before settling down. Thumbs up for the bar menu though - the cocktails had us spoilt for choice so two large glasses of malbec it was! A nice enough stop if you know a member and a useful event space location, but otherwise you're probably not missing out on anything too special.

Yelp
My brother is a member at the Miami location and booked us in to visit the London location a few times. Beyond pleased and looking at membership for the San Francisco location. Absolutely incredible.

Yelp
I'm confused by Soho Houses around the world, and this original location is no different, sadly. Despite the substandard food and appallingly bad service (our waiter repeatedly forgot drink orders, failed to bring the appetizers we ordered, and never apologized once for anything, though he did continually roll his eyes at us all evening), I always manage to have an ok time. Stay away from the cocktails, stick to wine/beer. The bartenders don't really know what they're doing.

Yelp
In the 80's (when my cousin became a member) it was lyke totally the new cool thing to have birthday parties at private clubs like Soho House. It's kind of a big deal now, and membership ain't easy but if you are a member you're allowed to bring guests. Soho have a few different locations but the one I went to had a private theater, two different restaurants, an outdoor patio and some other jazz. the American artist Pink was waiting outside the theater for the next screening babbling away to her press agent or whoever she was with. The food is fantastic in a very traditional upscale way. It's the sort of place you get fancy titled drinks and a French style steak. it's all very fancy. Not totally my bag but not gonna lie... I wouldn't deny a membership. They have all sorts of fun members stuff like cooking classes with top chefs and as I said, free movies. Its totally got that exclusive vibe for after all that's the bag its going for.

Yelp
it's almost 2am, you find yourself in soho... not really in the mood to venture into one of the area's dives, nor pay an absurd cover to "club"... something a little bit happening and a little bit demure. where do you go?? soho house!!! (that is, if you're lucky enough to be/with a member...) seriously, it is on those nights that i completely understand why soho house came to be and has remained a hip institution. the interior isn't exactly slick... a colour palette and low-ceilings/mouldings/fixtures that remind me of new england's colonial-era, but i personally think the coziness is nice. if you wanted to be partying with throngs... well, you'd be elsewhere. the bar food is good and well-presented (think linen napkins!). the bartenders know their stuff (i once put in a order for my friend to get me a gimlet, which he swore didn't even exist - ha, they proved him wrong, and executed it excellently - though chided me when it arrived for its strength). and i don't really think the people are pretentious... i've been in a groups that ordered the cheapest drink on the menu (a sparkling rose) and the waiter didn't even sniff... i mean, i guess with the membership ordeal, you've earned the right for them not to... all said, it's a great GREAT go-to place. there's good reason that it is *actually* still exclusive and doesn't have to *pretend* (as SO MANY private clubs in london do...) that it's exclusive. if you think otherwise... well, i sort of think you're lying... or are maybe just holding the fact that you're not a member against them...

Yelp
I like this place. Members only and not as crowded as other places in Soho. The DJ last night was shit....get someone new folks. The rest is great with lots of different spaces across multiple levels.

Yelp
Soho House is a great private club on the doorstep of the West End. I like working or having meetings there prior to seeing a show, and it's a good place to relax in a discreet environment. I'm happy to take clients there.

Yelp
It's always a pleasure going to Soho House. I must look into membership with them. I always go with a really good friend of mine who puts me on the guest list. They make the BEST mojito's in the UK! The staff are always lovely and it's such a laid back atmosphere. You have to go up on the roof comfy sofas await you with cosy blankets if its cooler weather. The bar staff are waiting to serve you on your sofa so you don't have to move an inch. Cigar and mojito on the roof in the middle of London surrounded by classy but not pretentious people. Nothing more than perfect!

Yelp
The kitchen is same as Boheme cafe & Kitchen. They serve the best food ever compare to Shorditch house and High Road house. It's not pricy but it's pricy to get in. You need subscribe the membership which costs nearly 1000pounds per year.

Yelp
We love all of the soho houses in London. We're lucky enough to have a member in the family but my favorite was this house in particular. As you entered there was the largest pan of paella being cooked over an open flame. It was as good as you could imagine. My husband had the pizza - also very memorable. We cant wait to visit the UK again!

Yelp
I had a fun time with some friends who are members. Cute place and the service is good with naturally friendly staff. Wine selection was decent as well.

Yelp
This place is a bloody maze. Never-ending floors, with never-ending twists and turns, and never-ending rooms. And the front door is so well-hidden that you could walk past it a hundred times without finding it. Still, makes for an exciting little adventure. Will you find wherever the hell you're supposed to be going or won't you??? Who knows! We eventually found our way to the screening room and enjoyed a jolly good film. Didn't stay for food or a drink afterwards, but it looks like a very nice place indeed to enjoy a meal or a bevvy with friends - if you can afford it, and if you're lucky enough to be chummy with a member, of course.

Yelp
Been here twice, the first time I was picked up by a slightly druggy record promoter who worked for EMI who went off me when she found out how old I was (younger than her.) Seeing me as cab fare home, she took me to this place, which was dark inside, a series of edwardian style separate rooms and abandoned me on a couch for three hours. We went back to hers, she ate my sweetcorn (not a euphemism) that i had bought cheap, i rifled through all the free cds she kept in her kitchen cupboards, and finally she told me i could sleep on the couch, where i got bitten by cat fleas. Stupidly, I failed to steal anything when i left in the morning. I didn't try to contact her again as she told me she was emigrating to australia, which was probably a lie. The second time was when i managed to get a press pass to teh london film festival a few years ago. Again, it was very dimly lit and there was a warning in the small toilets about taking drugs in there. The little bloke from Station Agent and Tiptoes was there, and people were trying not to stare at him. It's one of those places that thinks it's still quite trendy but actually you have to be a little bit middle aged to enjoy yourself here.

Yelp
First off, locating this place was like faffing about in the dark with my contacts off, only rain could have made it more of a missionWas invited along by a friend that happens to be a member to an open mic session in the house basement. We met at no'21 before going down so I can just about comment on the house reception staff and cloakroom; professional yet warm. The basement had a younger, relaxed vibe to it and had more of a open house feel to it, as long as you could pass as a creative anyway. Not sure how bored I would have been had there not been an event on but even with that to amuse, I was twitching fingers and downing vino way too enthusiastically. There were a few sloane rangers about and I have a feeling that there will be again next time I am there - looked like a natural habitat of theirs The bar service was okay, until I was asked to pay for drinks I had already paid for. Having to describe staff that had taken payment and have friend attesting to the fact that I had paid already left a sour taste in my mouth. Bathroom was titchy but the mirrors were good so shan't complain on that front. Drinks were not too bad. Managed to find a bottle of white wine for about £28 on the menu. Didn't eat but food being ordered smelt nice. Great location admittedly and an hour or 2 could be spent here without bother, anymore and I might start yawning. Couldn't help but think much more fun would have been had at the Groucho, which is almost just across the road!

Yelp
Had it not been for the toilets, I'd have given this place four stars. I'm a sucker for drinking on a roof. And drinking decent cocktails at that. There's always going to be something a bit out of my league about private members clubs I haven't yet discovered why you'd pay hundreds of pounds a year to drink somewhere expensive. But that doesn't mean I don't like when people take me to private clubs. I get to be nosy, I don't have to fork out for membership, and everyone is happy. Soho House is a lovely building, the staff friendly and the place is really nice. I meant to come for one drink, I stayed for four. One of them was a tequila and chilli concoction, with coriander seeds in it one of the best cocktails I've had this year. If not the best. They're around the £8 mark. But three stars because the toilet next to the roof terrace was a mess. I know it's only one cubicle, but that's not what I expect from somewhere so swanky. I was surprised, and a bit turned off by them. If you're charging so much, it's not a lot to ask that you tidy up a bit, is it?

Yelp
Was here yesterday for a lunch with a member and had to settle for the fish & chips with mashed peas. The batter has to be one of the best I have ever had and the fish inside so perfectly cooked served with delicious freshly made Tartare Sauce. I'm only giving a 4 stars because my first option, Red Snapper with Samphire wasn't available!

Yelp
This is my first experience with Solo House, and what a great one! Very beautiful designed, superior service without being pretentious or snobby, The roof terrace is AMAZING! The views are spectacular! I would strongly recommend a visit if you are lucky enough to know a member!

Yelp
I love Soho House - I've never had a bad evening/afternoon drink / lunchtime event there. The staff are more helpful than one has a right to expect and the 'Bring Me Food' menu is stunning. For my money, there's no endorsement like repeat business and I go back to Soho House again and again
