Recently I took a trip to Washington D.C. and my wife and I went to this place for breakfast most days. The food and coffee are really good and you get generous portion sizes. For two meals and two coffees we spent about $30, which for D.C. is about average unless you are doing McDonalds. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

I’ve passed by this place many times and never took the time to stop. I finally checked it out and was so impressed. My black coffee was great and the zucchini banana chocolate bread was INCREDIBLE - it was moist, thick and the chocolate melted perfectly with every bite. I am looking forward to coming back to try more!

Weekend Warrior

Google
It was a good place to get work done. The outside area was quite noisy being near traffic, but the inside was fine. Only issue was that the servers forgot to bring my sandwich's to the table, or even call out that they were ready. If I didn't see them, we never would got them.

Google
Convenient little breakfast sandwich shop w/ coffee and tea. Nothing fancy. Prices a bit steep for what you get. Nice service.

Debra Olson

Google
Delicious coffee and tea, plus delicious pastries. Friendly staff and quite reasonable prices. Nice patio for eating outside or comfy chairs and tables inside. I suggest it for a relaxing weekend afternoon spot.

Google
Slow service - staff member seemed to ignore or not see me while on phone for over a minute. Then breakfast bagel took 15 minutes to come out, I had to check in because I thought they’d forgotten High price - $10 for turkey egg and cheese bagel Food not great, I could not see actual turkey in my bagel (picture - I challenge you to find it) and staff member told me word for word “It’s only a tiny slice, that’s why you can’t see it”

Google
Nice and exotic coffee place in DC, near Dupont circle. It has indoor and outdoor seating. The decor and ambience of the place are very unique. The owner was very nice and hospitable. I strongly recomend this place if you need to sit somewhere and do work or if you just want to have coffee and/or a quick bite.

Google

Yelp
Big bright space with lots of seating, clean bathroom (minus soap was out). We stopped in after volunteering at the Marine corps Marathon on a Sunday mid morning. Staff was friendly and kind. Prices are fair, standard coffee shop options, not frilly. Service is fast. We all enjoyed coffees, mochas, chai, bagel and croissant sandwiches.

Yelp
I went here in my first week at this job a year and a half ago, thought it was very eh, didn't come back. I returned today to give it another go, bought an assortment of things, same verdict -- with new annoyance over their prices. I got a chia pudding, their vegan banana bread, and a drip coffee. My total was $16. The chia pudding was pretty petite, and it was like $6.50. Banana bread was $4.50 I think? Both were fine, though the chia pudding had a hair in it, which I did not love. The coffee was eh. Inside of Soho, it smells like a budget hotel's continental breakfast. For some reason, it sells pies/cakes in addition to everything else they do. I have walked past here several times a week for a year and a half and seldom see anyone in here; I don't know who is eating all of this food! I'd pass it over for one of the newer coffee shop bakery vibes nearby (Tatte, Blank Street, even Bagels Etc). Sorry!

Yelp
Super cute cafe in Dupont. I did a staycation nearby this past weekend and I visited twice. They have great breakfast options and a good amount of seating. The employees are friendly. I enjoyed the vanilla chai latte and their pastries!

Yelp
Great service, tea was refreshing and coffee hit the spot. Very nice workers, informative and pleasant

Yelp
Delicious Banana Chocolate Oatmeal cake. And service is excellent- nicest baristas in DC!

Yelp
I wouldn't recommend Soho Tea & Coffee. I ordered a tea and the cashier said in a very condescending tone "ma'am you need to be specific." I kind of just brushed it off. But he made me extremely uncomfortable. It would have been better if he asked me what kind of tea I would have liked. It is okay though. I just will not return.

Alice B.

Yelp
Excellent service, food is fresh and delicious, great environment! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
This is the cutest cafe! I love this shop and have become a regular here. I've tried so many coffees, from the delicious hot lattes to the chilled caramel Mocha- they are all so good and such a treat! I've also tried many of their breakfast bagels and sandwiches- it's hard to pick just one favorite. Their desserts are sooo yummy! The location is great, the atmosphere is welcoming and I always meet up with friends here because the food/drinks are consistently great and so is the service. In my experiences I've always had the friendly service, I've even spoken with the owners a few times and they've been so nice! This is one of my favorite local Coffee & sandwich shops! You can't go wrong.

Yelp
I used to work around the corner from here and came here for coffee and breakfast from to time. I'd rate it average at best. I didn't find the coffee to be good and the breakfast sandwiches were basic.
google avatar

Gregory Paul S.

Yelp
Who charges 11.99 for a grilled cheese sandwich. Seriously it's white wheat or rye with butter and a slice of cheese not even two slices. Once again DC is where food culture goes to die
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
I started going here in 1996 and I spent the bulk of my early adult years coming here literally - LITERALLY - every day. For nearly four years. Sometimes in the daytime, sometimes late at night after visiting nightclubs. I believe it is still owned by the same wonderful lesbian couple. I came back after being away for two decades to discover the same inviting atmosphere, the same delicious food and PERFECT cappucino and even a familiar welcoming face in that of Sammy (sorry if I've misspelled it,) who was there two decades ago and I believe is now a co-owner. This place is the BEST COFFEE SHOP IN AMERICA. Full stop. Adding some photos from two decades ago for nostalgia!

Yelp
A must if you live in the area. The coffee is always good w/depth of flavor. The smoked salmon bagel was worth every penny. But the real joy are their homemade desserts. I've tried the ricotta blueberry cake, apple pastry and homemade carrot cake. All superb. I was also gifted with a an Apple treat for a friend. A very nice thought after I shared my good news. Let's support this business folks. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
What a wonderful place to unwind, read books or newspapers or simply visit with friends. They are quite neighborhood friendly even donating banana bread for the retirement party for the worker across the street. Kudos to them!

Alexandria W.

Yelp
Incredible Iced Mocha, and great music on the radio (at a low enough volume to still hold a conversation). Also, the bathroom (for patrons) was very clean.
google avatar

Irina R.

Yelp
The food here never disappoints! I love their breakfast food. I haven't tried much of their lunch menu but I do recommend going here for breakfast. The food always taste fresh and always has great taste. I recommend their breakfast sandwiches and their iced tea.

Yelp
This is a great coffee shop for working because there are plenty of tables and outlets, and the atmosphere feels welcoming. There are lots of delicious looking baked goods, and I liked the artsy vibe. Interestingly, I came on a Saturday morning and the crowd was a bit older on average, which just means that it's a nice quiet place to work. The sandwiches we ordered on the other hand, were fine. Not bad. Not extraordinary. Nonetheless, I'll be back!

James G.

Yelp
Great Service, Nice Ambiance, Great Location between DuPont Circle and Georgetown! Amazing Food and Drinks, fresh ingredients and health!
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
Not a bad place to come and do some work. Wifi was good, and there's a few outlets if you need one. Cashier was very friendly and didn't rush us out when they were closing. Vanilla iced latte wasn't bad. The blackberry mocha sounded interesting but was too sweet, would skip that next time.

George D.

Yelp
one of the best and coziest places for coffee and breakfast. very friendly owner. highly recommend

Mergevos G.

Yelp
Great homestyle breakfast and welcoming service. I tried their brownie with an espresso. I was told they get the coffee from a local roaster and bake the brownie on premise with butter and all natural ingredients. Overall very clean and well-managed place. Always a better experience than I have had at any Starbucks!

Eileen T.

Yelp
Love this cafe! Always has great food and coffee (my favorite is their mocha!) And the desserts (a lot of them made in-house) are incredible. Definitely try the ricotta cake with lemon and blueberry, but their customer service is excellent and they'll give you great recommendations! Great place to relax and hang out with friends

Bia T.

Yelp
Meh. The staff seem annoyed to be there and were arguing with each other. The orders came up short, coffee not filled all the way, food was not warmed. The place is cute and clean restroom

Manik S.

Yelp
My favorite cafe with the best customer service and food & drinks. I come here almost every day to work away from home. They make their pastries which are always so delicious and fresh. The vegan banana bread and Zucchini banana chocolate chip bread are my favorites!
google avatar

Tyler S.

Yelp
It is great to still see small businesses open during the Covid pandemic. Service was great! The sausage, tomato, egg and cheese on croissant exceeded my expectations and the Soho Sunrise paired well along with it. I highly recommend this quaint little gem located in the Dupont Circle area in DC.

Khanh L.

Yelp
Everything was good and the food is amazing. Also surprisingly affordable price compared to the location.
google avatar

Dayna G.

Yelp
Best coffee spot ever! We miss this place so much. After moving back home to Texas, this was the place that we still talk about today. It was our coffee stop daily, for 2 years straight. Nicest staff. Best coffee! I highly recommend this venue.

Barbara A.

Yelp
Every order was wrong! Coffee was half filled and lukewarm. The service is bizarre a mix between rude and spiteful. Walking in felt like tension- the feeling of walking into a room after someone had an argument- that was the vibe. It used to be a wonderful place 5 years ago, it's just a disappointment/disaster

Yelp
I ordered delivery and when I had found out this place was 2.5miles (25min drive here in DC) from my hotel, I decided to attempt to cancel. Since I would have had to forgo half my money I decided to stick with it. Glad I did! Iced Latte was wrapped, still ICED, with a strong brew taste. My egg, tomatoe, sausage on croissant was bountiful and tasty. The peanut butter sandwhich cookie is that of a childhood dream. Very pleased. Oh and they use biodegradable straws!

Eileen C.

Yelp
Extremely kind service! I was debating between vegan banana bread and a cranberry scone, the woman at the register (who may have been the owner I'm not sure) recommended the banana bread. I picked that but she gave me the scone for free to try too! Both baked goods were delicious!
google avatar

Knarik G.

Yelp
Great space to work from, while enjoying delicious breakfast and coffee. I always get my latte from them! Iced or hot, the coffee is superb. They also have the best tasting cakes! Plenty of space and tables, both inside and outside - perfect to people watch. Highly recommend both the service and the food!
google avatar

Feifei G.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday to camp out and work for a while. My husband and I are thrilled to have finally found a cafe to get some work done! They have a good selection of tea, coffee, smoothies, sandwiches, and even a few alcoholic beverages! The space is brightly lit and has plenty of tables and outlets. The staff are super nice too. The clientele are a mix of people having lunch, chatting over coffee, and working with laptops. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
When the Starbucks down the street is full, I come here for a decent study spot and some caffeinated drinks. There are tons of seats and outlets, and a huge window to get some natural light and even people watch. They do serve food, however I have never gotten around to try any. The coffee is pretty average, and the WiFi is spotty and sometimes even non existent. Just about every employee I've encounter on my visits have been friendly, so that's a plus. I really wanted to like soho, because they're in such a convenient spot, but they overall are a hit or miss.
google avatar

Leah K.

Yelp
Highly recommend this spot for a fast and yummy breakfast! We ordered delivery and was really impressed with how large and tasty the Lox bagel was, and so good with the cucumber on top. The eggs breakfast was a perfect inexpensive quick breakfast. Oh and the blueberry ricotta cake was super moist and DIVINE!

Brenna T.

Yelp
Friendly staff, great selection of cakes, loafs, pastries. Nice quick coffee orders at a nice corner location with ample tables, outlets, chairs. Really friendly pricing too.
google avatar

Edwina D.

Yelp
Soho is hit or miss. On a good day, the wifi is consistent, the coffee is strong, the food is tasty and filling. On bad days, the wifi is completely backed out, drinks are watered down, and your soup/sandwich is served cold. I've experienced a fair share of both days, yet I still have a soft spot for Soho since it was one of my first study spots when I moved to DC. I've since found other cafes that serve tastier lattes and fresher food made in-house, but Soho is a decent option if you want a casual, quirky place to work. Service is always friendly, which is a big plus!

Yelp
Soho is a great little place to spend hours studying or hanging out while in the Dupont Area. Literally! I hadn't imagined that I would be spending hours here when I came, but that must be common given many others around me were doing the same. Food - I had the chicken melt and it was suuuper filling. Wow. And good. I was definitely pleased and I even had the bag of chips to save for later. Drinks - I had the Chai Latte and thought it was marvelous. I would have gone for another one had I not been so frugal. Staff - I want to say the place is run mainly by a couple, otherwise it looked that way to me... but either way the staff is awesome. Personable and easygoing. If you are looking for a change of scenery from your usual study or hangout spot, come give Soho a try!

Yelp
Complete TRASH and absolute WASTE of 12$. I ordered a caramel almond milk latte and just got espresso and almond milk in a cup. Barista totally forgot my order even though he repeated it back to me. I guess he was more concerned with ppl trying to sit at the outdoor tables that weren't customers. He ran out outside after giving me my order to tell a couple that the patio tables were for customers only. I also ordered an Oreos cupcake (DISGUSTING). More like a dry, bland muffin with hard icing on top. It was probably the worst "cupcake" I've ever tried. I tossed both items once I got to my car and drove over to Starbucks.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Not sure why this place gets so many negative reviews. I came here first thing this morning right after they're just opened. I had the most amazing white chocolate latte. I also got one of those blueberry cake slices. It was divine. The service was impeccable. One of the better coffee places in DuPont circle. Will definitely be back every morning this week to try other things.
google avatar

Jasmine C.

Yelp
Staff was friendly but the coffee was pretty bad - there's a burnt aftertaste that's just a tiny bit better than Starbucks. Interior has lots of tables etc but gets a bit dark and seems quite old. Outside is super nice though. Overall, good location friendly staff but bad coffee - especially considering the price!
google avatar

Yelp
Anytime the starbucks down the street is packed, and you need to get work done, this is a great option. Honestly, I'd come here first if they had a better outlet situation. The space is large with lots of seating, but much of it is in the middle of a big square. If you're not on the edges, no outlet for you. It might seem silly, but I never come without a power strip. Also, as big as the space is, it fills up on Sundays, which is when I'm usually here. You might have some competition for those seats. Now, on to what matters. For drinks, these are clearly a step above the starbucks quality. Coffee and lattes are great, and I appreciate that they have a syrup list out (lots of great choices on it, too). But there's something about the irish coffee (irish cream syrup, coffee, whipped cream), that just feels so right. The irish cream flavor is a dream come true for my tastebuds, and it works so well with the actual cream. I could drink it all day. I've gotten myself into a comfortable chicken salad sandwich rut. If you're going to call your chicken salad the best in the world, which they do, it better at least be unique. Thankfully, they pass that test. It has much less mayo than most, and I don't know what they're using to season it, but it tastes kind of cinnamony. I don't know if it's the best I've ever had, but it's pretty darn close. They also have free wifi, thank god, but it's spottier service than you'll get most places. It consistently kicks me off for a minute every fifteen or so. Not a huge deal, but a minor annoyance for sure, and it will keep you from streaming anything. Pro-tip they might advertise somewhere, but I didn't see and had to ask a fellow patron: wifi password is their phone number with no spaces or dashes.

Yelp
Last time I came in October there were tons of mosquitos. It's now November and somehow there are still many mosquitos inside. Do they have standing water somewhere? This place has been going down hill for the last two years and the change in management (?) seems to have made it even worse.
google avatar

Terinee B.

Yelp
Although the chicken salad sandwich was really good... I mean it was real chunky chicken, not too much extra stuff, just good ol' chicken salad. It was actually the white mocha that made my toes curl!!! Ummmm! Ummmmm! Better than Starbucks! The atmosphere was great for working! Quiet, but full of folks "gettin' it in".... (My kinda place). Good food/drink, coupled with great environment -- open late = GREAT PLACE! Come see for yourself!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute and Cas' little cafe coffee/sandwich shop. Cashier/Cook for very hospitable and helpful. Ordered a yummy avocado toast and egg sandwich and tried their crumb cake - equally yummy. Perfect place if you don't want hipster fancy and just a good breakfast break. Plus you cannot beat the wonderful view of the Church of the Pilgrims
google avatar

Debbie C.

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely "wakeup" coffee & delicious spinach egg croissant at the Soho coffee cafe, a short walk down the street from our hotel, Kimpton Palomar. The ambiance is quiet and relaxing with good music playing. They even have board games available, so planning on coming back later with the rest of the family for some good laughs.
google avatar

Nadia S.

Yelp
Ordered "melts" from this cafe for delivery and they looked like a child made it. The "pizza" bagel essentially tasted like a store bought bagel with slices of tomato and a single slice of provolone cheese. It doesn't even cover the whole bagel or have any sauce or flavor. Just because you put Italian seasoning on a slice of tomato and cheese doesn't make it delicious. The first thoughts when I saw it was "oh this is sad". Don't order their melts. I am a terrible cook and I could make a better pizza bagel. Too expensive for what we got.
google avatar

Christine Y.

Yelp
Really good bagel sandwich Good study spot But spotty wifi I would come here again to study
google avatar

Christina L.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Bagel, beautifully toasted and warm with enough peanut butter to slather on inbetween. Croissant, flakey and buttery with egg, ham and cheese that's melted together. The smoothies are also on point. I tried the mango and spinach, and blueberry - both amazing. Highly recommend!

Amanda F.

Yelp
I they have good chicken salad as advertised but be careful to verify everything you order and ask for your receipt. They got my take out order wrong not just once, but twice on the same occasion, and didn't give me a receipt so I could have pre-empted the problem. I was in a hurry to leave and when I got home I realized they got my order wrong again, so I called to complain. The server was apologetic but didn't offer to rectify the situation or correct my order in any way. How about offering to send me what I asked for?
google avatar

Katherine M.

Yelp
This has been my go to for quarantine breakfast. They have amazing coffee, good sandwiches, and a wide array of pastries. I really like their mochas, and I have been thinking of asking them if they'd send me some of their flavor syrups. Of note, their sandwiches are big. I got the chicken melt once and I was able to make 2 meals out of it. If there is an issue with your order, they call immediately to get your preferences. I'm very happy that this cafe serves my breakfast needs!
