I will admit it, I don't like hostels. I like privacy and I'm too introverted to enjoy sharing a room with people I don't know. But you gotta do what you gotta do when you're solo traveling and on a tight budget. I was originally going to stay at an Airbnb in London, but last-minute decided to book a hostel. Now, I am very glad that I did!!
Sohostel was great. The moment I walked through the door, the receptionists were super friendly and even gave me a tour of the building and showed me to my room. Everything is just so colorful and vibrant - Just the design itself makes you feel comfortable and safe there! They had a lovely lounge room, with a giant projector screen, a snack bar and a bunch of people mingling and hanging out.
I had a room with two bunk beds and it was TINY. Basically, the only place you can be is in your bed. But I didn't have a problem with that. What I loved was that there were electric outlets for each bunk, top and bottom, with USB's as well (great for international travelers!)
As for location, it's in a great spot. Right in Soho and near Piccadilly Circus, many bars around, a park....I could go on. Only about a 20 minute walk to the big attractions. The price is incredibly cheap as well.. I highly recommend Sohostel for your stay in London!!
