Soi Thai - Review - Battersea - London - The Infatuation

"From the intricate green tiling outside, to the spa-like music inside, Soi Thai is a book you can comfortably judge by its cover. When the sun’s out, couples sit on the little terrace by the side, twirling pad thai on their forks while deciding what to watch when they get home, and families settle into the small, welcoming dining room inside and snack on salt and pepper squid while waiting for their fragrant massaman curries." - Rianne Shlebak

An Amazing Discovery at Soi Thai on Northcote Road!!! Having recently dined at Soi Thai, I can confidently say it's been a remarkable find. The flavours instantly transported me back to my time in Thailand – truly authentic and packed with the same taste I remember so fondly. The portions are generous, ensuring you leave more than satisfied. While the menu is simple, every dish is executed brilliantly, focusing on quality over quantity. If you're visiting, don't miss out on the mango sticky rice – it's the best I've had outside Thailand. Overall, highly recommended for anyone craving genuine Thai cuisine. I'll definitely be returning!

We had the most disappointing service and food experience. The wrong dishes were brought to us despite having repeated the order back to us correctly. We had asked the supervisor for dishes to be served very spicy; the Tom Yum soup and beef salad served were disappointing and bland. We were also told at this stage hat the gluten free dish we had ordered could not be made (despite double checking with the chef before ordering). They acknowledged their mistakes and took the dishes back to the kitchen and served improved and spicier versions of the dishes. A goodwill gesture would have been appreciated but instead, we were charged for the dishes we had not ordered but were served by mistake ( that we did not eat) and what we had ordered but were not given due to dietary restrictions. We queried it again with the manager who removed the wrong items and charged us more than what we had ordered. It wasn't worth further discussion at this stage. Overall, potential for decent food but the service was diabolical. It may have been a bad night overall as the table next to us also had to send back food. The acknowledgement and apology by the manager just came too late. Would not recommend this place unless bland food is what you want out of a Thai restaurant.

Genuinely so impressed. Best Thai I have had in years if not ever, and I have travelled through Thailand! Portions could be tinyyy bit larger, but still fabulous! Will be back

Food delicious! Atmosphere cozy and fun! But what makes this place stand out is the customer service. The team at the restaurant are incredibly kind, very thoughtful, inclusive and fun! Big shout to Jay, Maia, Constantin and Lilly for making my evening. I came here for the food, but will be coming back for the staff and atmosphere. They welcomed us with a big smile and friendly interactions, they helped us with the menu and recommended their favourite dishes, they even gave me a blanket when they noticed I was chilly (didn’t even have to ask)!! Thank YOU and see you soon :)

I went to Soi Thai for a casual dinner without any booking. I would suggest to book in advance as almost all tables were reserved. There’s nice outside seating in summer evenings. Thai food is good in this restaurant. I enjoyed the crispy prawns, duck spring rolls (really good), green curry chicken and black pepper beef. The food was all good. I would come back for a good Thai dinner.

I came here last night without a reservation for my partners birthday. The staff were able to give us a table for 1hr 20 mins which was more than enough time. The waiter who served us gave a few recommendations which were great! We went for the mixed starters which were around £14, glass of wine at around £5 and a Thai iced tea around £4-£5. We then ordered our main a pad Thai and Panang red chicken curry with Jasmine rice. The pad Thai was the prawn version which had a nice portion of prawns but had tofu inside too which I didn’t think was needed or went well with a seafood pad Thai which in my opinion should just of topped up more on the prawns etc. the panang chicken curry was flavoursome but found the chicken a bit flat a little chewy, also the sauce was runny which from my understanding should be a bit more thicker but all in all were nice and bursting with good flavours. I was a bit surprised that our bill came upto £64 for what we had. I would recommend this place for anyone who likes Thai food but also would say the restaurant is a little bit high or the prices considering other Thai places in the local area.

The taste of the dishes and drink closely assemble those that I had in Asia. The Thai milk tea is a slightly less sweet version of what I had in Asia but otherwise tasted the same. (Which is not easily found in my own experience here in London so far.) The sticky rice with mango is also something hard to find in a general Thai restaurant here which I would recommend to try out as this is a popular, if not iconic, dessert that we would always go for when having Thai food in HK.
