The Best New Year’s Eve Restaurants in NYC | Eater NY

"One of the best deals around is the $75 three-course prix fixe at this Upper East Side hangout, featuring appetizers like duck rillette croquettes; tuna tartare with avocado; and maple glazed delicata squash; entrees of filet mignon Bearnaise; squid ink tonnarelli with shrimp and calamari; salmon with quinoa risotto; and chicken Parmigiana with burrata and broccoli; and finishers like brownies with coffee caramel and vanilla ice cream." - Eater Staff

I’ve been to this place multiple times for drinks and food, and every visit has been fantastic! I absolutely love that it’s dog-friendly—they even have a fun and well-organized puppy happy hour that adds such a unique touch. The decor is stylish and welcoming, and the patio is a perfect spot to relax, especially with a furry friend. I recently attended a dog-themed event here and was seriously impressed with how smoothly everything was run. Not only is it a great spot for drinks, but the food was surprisingly good too. Our meals came out quickly, fresh, and exactly as ordered. Everyone in my group was happy with their dishes, and the couple next to us even complimented the staff on how efficient and friendly they were. I ordered a mimosa, which was perfectly mixed and super refreshing. The service throughout our visit was warm and attentive—even during the busy rush, the staff made sure we were taken care of with smiles and genuine hospitality. It's clear they care about the customer experience, and it really shows. As someone who’s worked in the restaurant industry, I appreciate the level of professionalism and heart this place offers. Can’t wait to come back again!

Love the outdoor seating! First time at sojourn social and had a great dining experience. The staff was very helpful and friendly. My burger was made to perfection. My aunt stake was delicious. Our dog Rosie can confirm it all!!!

Google
My new favorite place to go with my puppy. We had such a great time! They accommodated us very quickly and brought my pup a bowl of carrots and prosciutto (that he inhaled😆) and water right away. The menu was great and our espresso martinis were absolutely delicious and sooo pretty!!! Oysters and tuna tartare were yummy! Definitely going back for the great service and atmosphere ‼️

Google
love the environment/atmosphere. the service is amazing as well. great variety between individual entrees (pasta, steak) and shareable items (charcuterie board). the drink names are so creative and the drinks themselves are phenomenal, which makes for a perfect combination. good place for a catch-up or a more casual lunch/dinner that still has a real sit-down vibe to it.

Google
Sojourn Social just won “Best Brunch Ever” in my dog’s eyes — and mine too! Such a hidden gem. Their dog mom brunch event was pawsitively perfect. Good vibes, great bites, and the cocktails were so creative and perfectly executed they were so yummy and delicious I can’t wait to go back, the pups were lounging and when we arrived at our table we found a spot and tango treat sample bag, a little soap gift set for the moms and raffle tickets it was soo cute and thoughtful. The menu made both humans and fur babies feel spoiled. The Caesar Salad was crisp and punchy, the Duck Rillette Croquettes were rich little bites of heaven, and the Arugula & Radicchio salad brought the perfect bitter crunch. I couldn’t resist the Coque Madame (hello, cheesy perfection) while my fiancée swore the Eggs Benedict was the best he’s had in ages. The pups enjoyed the carrots and prosciutto. The staff was so sweet (to us and the dogs) they make you feel like regular even if it’s your first time there like us. We sat outdoors and the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and vibrant it was so laid-back but full of energy it was full of happy pups with tail wags all around. My pups made new friends, and we all left with full bellies and happy hearts. 10/10, would wag and brunch again already counting down to the next one!

Ambiance (5/5): This restaurant is absolutely beautiful interior and exterior. I love eating here because it feels fancy, welcoming, and cozy all at the same time! I especially like how dog friendly this place is. This is why I brought my dog to dine in their outside patio. There's a front patio with several dining spots and the outdoor patio has covered dining in little mini private booths and tables about the backyard, multi-level spaces. There's string lights, fake greenery. It feels like you're someplace not in the middle of the city. I love love loved this spot. Service (5/5): They brought a Bark-cuterie for my dog and provided constant refills for her too! We were helped throughout the dining experience and waitress was super sweet when I asked her what the cola spritz was. When asked what the M&M shot was, she also kindly got me one even though I didn't order from the menu when my friend did! It was super sweet! Food (5/5): We came for their Thursday specials $10 aerprols: THERSy day for a girl dinner of coke aerprol, Caesar salad, and M&M shot. I decided to go for their summer special of a salmon on a bed of quinoa 'risotto' corn. The presentation was beautiful! The salmon had a nice sear and was cooked to a medium-rare which made the fish very tender. Can't wait to come back again!

Absolutely beautiful place with great people. The food is amazing and the setting is very well taken care of. I go every week and highly recommend it to both groups of friends and couples.

Yelp
Found Sojourn when we were at the Met looking for a Happy hour. Absolutely did not expect what we got. It's a very chill, nicely decorated and awesome vibe of a venue. Out server, Margaret, had been working 3 weeks and was just phenomenal. Cannot praise her or the service highly enough. She was incredibly accommodating to all our questions and her amazing attitude and kindness is just increasingly rare to see. Their happy hour is excellent, with 2 for 1 cocktails that are actually well designed and delicious, not just a whiskey coke or something. Pretty much everything we ate as delicious. Really really good happy hour food menu, had the duck croquettes ( which were good but not awesome). But the fries, chicken meatball, sliders, all awesome. We hadn't planned on it but ended up getting a charcuterie plate which was so good. Highly recommend, don't miss this spot!

Yelp
After a grueling flight and landing late at night, I stumbled upon this restaurant looking for a place with the kitchen still open at 1am, and wow, what a find! Open late and welcoming, this place was exactly what I needed to shake off travel fatigue and satisfy my hunger. My friend took the squid ink pasta, which was delicious, perfectly al dente pasta that carried the sauce beautifully. I had the gnocchi in generous portions complemented with a creamy sauce that was comfort food at its finest. Even at 1 a.m., the service was top-notch. The ambiance deserves its own shoutout. You have the choice of outdoor seating at the front on sunny days, or a cozy patio in the back that feels like a secret garden. I'm writing this reviewed after going back twice already

Yelp
Sojourn Social is one of those places you can count on for a consistently good experience, no matter the occasion. As a frequent diner, I've enjoyed everything from brunch to dinner to casual cocktails, and it never disappoints. Their menu features a variety of delicious options, and the specials are always worth exploring. The food itself is reliably good. But what truly sets Sojourn Social apart is the service. The staff here go above and beyond to make every visit memorable. They're friendly, attentive, and clearly take pride in creating a welcoming atmosphere, which makes the experience feel that much more special. If you live in the neighborhood, this is a must-visit spot that delivers on quality, hospitality, and a sense of community. It's definitely a place worth returning to time and time again.

Yelp
Sojourn Social is a charming neighborhood spot that offers a great variety of drinks and always has a table for us when we need it. The drink menu is extensive enough to suit different occasions, making it a great place to unwind and simply hang out.

Yelp
Good spot to hit for brunch. Tasty food choices such as the breakfast sandwich and Nutella French toast. Unlimited brunch drinks option is free flowing and give a great excuse for day drinking! Nice service and atmosphere too. Pretty much has the same look as the the old Genesis bar that was here before.

Yelp
This didn't get 5 stars just because it's my namesake, (trust me, I judged it a little harder for this exact reason) but OMG what a delight Sojourn Social is! Super cute exterior & interior. Great for a date night, girls/guys night. Not too crowded, not too loud, but a perfect city restaurant right on 2nd Ave where the hustle & bustle awaits. We went on a Friday in Sojvember at 6 leaving us one hour to enjoy happy hour. 2 for 1 drinks & those baby's were strong. Delicious yes, but strong & that's exactly how we like it! You can also get small plates for $7 but we were hungry & went straight to the menu! We had the calamari to start which was fresh & tasted like it. The marinara sauce for dipping was also really good. (Note to Chef/Manager the Fra Diavolo sauce with the Squid Ink Tortellini would go crazy as a dipping sauce for the calamari or drizzle of coating on top. Thank me later.) I ordered the Skirt Steak & he ordered the Duck Breast. Honey baby love both were delicious. I'm not that well versed in duck but it had the sear of a steak with the flavor/texture that resembled chicken & while that my sound crazy, I promise you it was amazingggg & the fried rice that it came with?? I should've ordered some on the side to go. That steak? Grilled perfectly, nailed the temperature on the cook, the chimmichurri was delectable & that ginger ketchup(could bottle & sell tbh) were the perfect accompaniment for those golden fries. All in all? Yes. I'll absolutely be back for happy hour, brunch & to try other items on their menu. So happy to have a place that's my own

Yelp
I came by for brunch last weekend with a large group and they were super sweet to accommodate us in a private section towards the back of the restaurant. The menu featured a variety of different items from Belgian waffles to eggs Benedict's. I personally ordered the Benedict. We were all really excited for our food but it didn't come out for 2 hours. This may be because we were such a large group and some members participated in bottomless and/or restaurant week. However, none of us were expecting such a big delay and it consequently ruined plans for a couple of us afterwards.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Went to Sojourn Social for brunch because it was dog friendly. So much so they made Dolce a plate of snacks! We had the crispy chicken sandwich and the portion was huge! I personally do not love deep fried chicken, but if you do you'll love it. I think my favorite part besides the friendly staff are the holiday drink options. Will definitely go back to try more. They also have an unlimited option if that's more your style.

Yelp
Just didn't catch a good vibe from this place the waitress hostess person was offputting so we started off I guess on the wrong foot. My partner had salmon which was nothing special actually a little dry and I had short rib sliders that could have been much better. Very noisy, but it was Saturday so that's really not a factor in my ranking one of the rare places I just couldn't cozy up to won't be going back. I wish I knew what everybody was raving about in the reviews. I just didn't see it.

Yelp
I love Sojourn Social! The happy hour is so much fun and the best deal for specialty cocktails on the ues! Their food always hits and they're dog friendly so the entire family can come! The manager Shawn is so sweet and treats us like royalty. All of the workers are so sweet!

Yelp
I came here for happy hour on a Friday. We made a reservation, but they accidentally gave our table away to another party, so we sat at the bar. The restaurant is split, with a separate narrow bar on one side. We pretty much had this section to ourselves, though waiters passed by frequently so we had to move out of the way. Happy hour ends at 7p and they have two for one drinks. The menu had lots of options, including cocktails, wine, and sangria. I had the social spritz. I am usually not an aperol fan, but this drink was citrusy, subtly fruity, and well-balanced. The bartender did a great job keeping track of our orders and split the checks at the end for convenient payment. Would love to come back to check out the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Came to this place to close out my night. The place gives intimate and library vibes. The lights are dimmed. It's just enough lighting to see around you. We walked in and were greeted by friendly staff. We were promptly seated. The menu is big but has something for everyone. I ordered their duck vegetable fried rice dish. The food was tasty and very umami. I thought it lacked something acidic. Our waiter heard our favorite spirits and flavor profile and was able to select a drink she thought we'd like. I ordered the Brooklyn sour and thought it was very well balanced. It's definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this place!! The food and drinks are amazing, I have been to many oyster places in NYC in search of the best, and I can confidently say these are the winner (and they are fresh everyday per the owner). What really outshines is the service! I have **literally** never experienced better service in my life, and I say this confidently!! The staff and manager are beyond friendly and so attentive - I am so lucky to live so close to this place (also their happy hour special is great) This is definitely a must if you are in the yorkville area!

Yelp
Sojourn can't be beat. The drink menu is not only creative and fun but tastes great. We came over valentine's weekend and they had a festive "themed" menu as well. The chimichurri skirt steak was the star of our meal..But I feel you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
google avatar

Yelp
Cocktails were delicious, especially the Social Sour. Fish tacos tasty. Decent brunch.

Yelp
I came here with high expectations when I saw reviews, but was sadly underwhelmed. We were seated in front by the bar, just an FYI, you might get a bit chilly by the door-- even our server mentioned ppl don't like those seats. When asked, we were moved to the back by the kitchen, and RIGHT by the kitchen even though there were several tables available in the back -- perhaps they were all reserved To make a French 75 and pour a glass of wine took a very long time for a place that had a lot of open tables, over 10 minutes, even the manager came over to our table to check on us.. Our waitress gave suggestions of dishes. I had the squid ink the shrimp and calamari which is very plentiful with its pasta portion. Only got 3 shrimp and 5 pieces of calamari. The sauce was delicious. I added red pepper flakes for extra spice! I also ordered broccoli which had a nice flavor. My friend has a lot of food allergies so her choices were limited, but she knew that might be the case. She said the gnocchi was very cheesy but thought the star should have been the butternut squash...? Our bill came out to almost $100 which seemed a tad steep for what we got. Btw, $12 broccoli.

Yelp
Food was amazing, service always the best, ambiance was relaxed I'm curious about their $2 wings

Yelp
The best brunch I've had in a longtime. From the cocktails to the food -- it was fantastic. We both got the New York strip steak and eggs and it was cooked perfectly. But the showstopper was the bottomless signature cocktails and the service. The upper east side bottomless 90 brunch was insane, from bloody Mary's to espresso martinis everything was spot on. Our server was legitimately the best server we've had in months. If you get Emily you're in for a treat! Thank you so much for it all. Will be back, and recommend to others!

Jessica S.

Yelp
Amazing place to host a party in the back bar area. We had a schools night out here. Drinks amazing..food fantastic and the whole staff made sure we had a fantastic night. Love it here and cant wait to go back.

Yelp
Love this place. I had my birthday party here in their wine cellar. We created a special menu and pricing that worked for us together. Shawn was so lovely to work with and the food was very good. He even threw in free dessert (one for all 17 guests). Get the steak frites for sure.

Alexandra M.

Yelp
Food is consistent and delicious. Drink happy hour deals are amazing. My only criticism would be service. It can be a little slow at times but when you have great food and drinks, it's hard to complain. Place is a vibe and pretty.
google avatar

Yelp
Upgrading this place to a 5 after two more visits. One in the evening and one for brunch, both of which were really good. The brunch options of croque monsieur and the Nutella French toast with strawberries were fantastic. Although perhaps not ideal for those on a diet. (!)

Yelp
Couldn't love this place more. The vibe and service is immaculate. The trofie was as good as I had in Italy, absolutely delicious.

Yelp
Sojourn Restaurant is a fine dining establishment. It offers a modern American cuisine with a focus on seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms and purveyors. The restaurant has a sophisticated and elegant ambiance, making it suitable for special occasions or a memorable dining experience. The dishes are expertly prepared and beautifully presented, with options ranging from seafood and meat to vegetarian and vegan options. In addition to its food, Sojourn Restaurant also boasts an extensive wine list featuring both local and international selections. The knowledgeable staff can assist in pairing the perfect wine with your meal. Overall, Sojourn Restaurant aims to provide a refined dining experience with excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Shout out to our waitress Emily, who went above and above to give us an amazing experience.

Yelp
I had pretty high expectations for Sojurn Social as I have heard such wonderful things about this place that I thought would be a great addition to the neighborhood. When I walked in I was a little taken back and didn't expect what I saw. It was a pretty dim restaurant. The bar looked nice. My friend and I were seated at a high top by the window but then after a few min asked to move as there was a cool draft coming through. The night we went it was pretty empty when we got there and so when we asked to move we thought we would be seated at a table not too close to the door but to our surprise we were seated all the way in the back right like in the kitchen pretty much. We were confused as to why we were sat all the way back here while there were plenty of other open tables. Now onto the drinks and food. I ordered a french 75 and my friend ordered a glass of wine. Who knew these two drinks could take up to about 10 min for us to get while the place was not even crowded. My French 75 was not good at all if I am being totally honest. Not sure if it was the type of champagne that the restaurant uses or what but I asked to send it back and I got a beer instead. My friend was not too thrilled about the wine she got either. Our dishes were another not so great thing. So, I have a lot of food allergies and pretty much everything I wanted they couldn't make/ couldn't accommodate me and they suggested I get the gnocchi with butternut squash, which I ended up getting. It was very subpar and I felt like I was eating a block of Parmesan Cheese. There were little bits of butternut squash sprinkled around the dish. It was not what I was expecting. It was sort of good or maybe I was just very hungry! My friend got squid ink pasta with seafood. She enjoyed her dish but there were very few shrimps and seafood in her dish and a lot of pasta! She also got a side of broccoli that we didn't realize was 12.00! Our bill somehow came out to almost 100.00 and in our eyes it just was not worth it at all. I am glad to have tried a new place in the neighborhood but not sure I would come back even for a drink.
google avatar

Anisha A.

Yelp
100% recommend this place for happy hour. Buy 1 get 1 free cocktails!!!! And they were strong. Everyone that worked there was so nice and they kept sending us free drinks to our table. I did the gimlet and the French 88 and I liked both. The watermelon shots were awesome too. We also got fries and black bean tostadas.

Yelp
My girlfriends and I came for a weeknight dinner and had a really good time! From the outside, it looks just like any ol' bar, but the inside is a bit more classy. The food was really good! My friends and I split the fall squash and arugula salad, which was really nicely done and presented. I'd say it's one of the best fall salads I've had in a long time. We all really liked our mains, too. The crispy chicken sandwich was also one of the best I've had in a while - great textures and cooked to perfection. I snagged a bit of my friend's short rib sliders, which was also nicely done. I got a Sojourn Old Fashioned, which was nice and went down quickly. I'd definitely come back here to meet up with friends on the east side. (We made a reservation for Wednesday a few days beforehand.)

Ivy T.

Yelp
We went for happy hour and dinner, sat in the cute outdoor patio area. 2 for 1 cocktails for $16 so a pretty good deal and the drinks were large and strong. Service was a little slow, we had to ask for utensils and napkins and water refills. My biggest complaint is the food, we got 2 pasta entrees and they were extremely mediocre, tasted like store bought pasta and sauce I could have slapped together myself.

Calla W.

Yelp
The food was delicious. They had started restaurant week early so one of us ordered off that. The burrata with procuttio was light and creamy, the gnocchi was pillowy and rich. The short rib sliders were full of flavor. Our server was quick and cheerful. The cocktails were all so very inventive and good.

Rup W.

Yelp
Not even sure where to start. Trying to plan a party from a different state, for a large party, after calling numerous restaurants that could not accommodate, or no call back is no same challenge , Shawn, the GM graciously came to the rescue and executed an evening, went out of his way pick up a birthday cake and planned an evening that that the family thoroughly enjoyed. Shawn is the epotime of first class service and there is no way I could have pulled off what I did, in the short amount of time without his expertise and genuine passion for what he does. If you are on the fence about where to go while in NYC, run, don't walk and go here. Customer for life!!! Thank you Shawn, you truly are the best!!
google avatar

Klyde B.

Yelp
Kaylee is actually the best server in NYC. The food and drinks here are great but she made it a 5/5 (maybe 6/5)

Yelp
I walked into Sojourn Social with my friends after seeing the Wicked movie on a Sunday night, and they made an already amazing evening something my friends and I will remember forever! Our server was super hospitable, kind, down to earth, and patient with our party of 8 that walked in geeking out after the movie. He was extremely kind and accommodating without us having to ask for anything. For example a couple of us were fanning ourselves with the menu because we were right by the heater, so he asked if we were hot and then cracked the back door open to bring in some fresh air that everyone welcomed with open arms. It was one of those times where you don't know what you need until it was given to you. 10/10 soft skills that you either have or don't have. We were already having a great time and loving the music they were playing (Chappell Roan to match the delicious craft cocktails that were named after her lyrics). After we ordered they started playing the Wicked movie soundtrack without us mentioning it or anyone asking, because they were being so attentive and going above and beyond! Between our conversations chatting about the movie, this blew our minds. The food was also so delicious and the price point was perfect. I had brown butter gnocchi for ~$23, we also had the fried chicken sandwich, the pappardelle, sliders, tacos, and salad, and you know the food is good when the table is quiet for a bit because we're busy enjoying our food. We had mentioned the tasty cocktails and the fun names that were references to our beloved Chappell Roan earlier to our fantastic server...well guess what they did during our experience?? The manager was crafting new cocktails and named one of them after a reference one of us said about the movie, AND brought over a pitcher of the prototype cocktail to our table!!! Mind absolutely blown!!! I don't know if they were just placating us at this point or what, but if "Off-Key Galindas" shows up on the cocktail menu officially, you know where the name came from. lol To sum everything up, our night was supposed to be about a movie that my friends and I were looking forward to for years (which we ended up loving) and it was upstaged by our experience at Sojourn Social! People may not always remember what exactly they eat at a place at a certain time, but they certainly remember how a place makes them feel, and my friends and I will always remember about the way Sojourn Social made us feel. We dined on 11/24/24 around 8 pm and I feel terrible I don't have our server's name available to shoutout, but I hope management sees this, knows who served our group of 8 in the back table by the kitchen, and remembers how he made this group of strangers feel because he orchestrated an already incredible night one for the books :)

Yelp
Great service, expert bartender, can make anything taste good, nice variety of fun, great rib eye steak, & Salad, lovely garden area. A+++

Yelp
Went for a birthday and we were the only ones dining at sojourn. Everyone else was at the January part of the restaurant which is just around the corner. The menus are similar and I can't help but think that sojourn would be better for breakfast or lunch vs dinner. Service is outstanding. Food was excellent. My only complaint would be to get rid of the seed oils they fry their French fries in and use avocado or coconut oil instead. They don't have many fried items on the menu if any others at all so this seems like a relatively inexpensive venture to make. They pride themselves on the freshness and the farm to table experience so clean this up and you're an absolute winner in every way! It can be done! I hope they will consider it! Beautiful place, excellent concept. Just need to go all in w the zapping the seed oils!

Yelp
I found this place last week and I have been here 3 times in 10 days. I went twice for happy hour and on Sunday I caught a late lunch / early dinner. The service is A1, The Food is amazing, and the drinks are FANTASTIC!!! Theres an outside seating area, my fave spot so far is the booth right at the entrance! I havent been to a new place that i e loved in a while. Im happy to have found it. Ask for Emily she is great, her service is EXCELLENT. Outstanding job !! She knows her stuff. Anything she recommends i'll try. :)

Yelp
Nice music, the playlist can easily jump from something very romantic like Mariah Carey to club vibes with Shakira lol, good old early 2000's hits I guess just weirdly organized. Cocktails were good, service attentive and polite, we had the mezcal Apple cocktail and I liked it except for the cinnamon/sugar ring which I thought it was a bit too much. Apparently a back patio will be open for summer which I'm looking forward to. They offer bottomless brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 4PM. at a very reasonable price, starting at $25 for 90 minutes for mimosas or sangria and $32 which includes the same and also their brunch cocktails which looks very good. I appreciate the effort in their cocktails menu, seems like they did try to offer variety and innovative alternatives not just your average margarita. Not sure if I felt in love with the decor because I don't find anything unique about it, but I did like the setting, it's very comfortable and the huge bar makes a good place to hang out. Didn't try their food but it looked AMAZING. our neighbor table ordered the burrata and fried calamari and it did look great, so I'm excited to try their food on our next visit, particularly their their Nutella filled French toast from the brunch menu.

Yelp
Wow, this will be one of my go to Italian spots now! I came here for Pasta Mondays, which is a 3 course meal and glass of wine for $35! I made a reservation for 6:30 pm and this was a perfect time. My friend and I were seated in the back. It's a very cozy vibe but small/tight. I got the Winter Garden Salad, Squid Ink Tonnarelli, and Strawberry Cheesecake. My friend got the Arugula salad, Tagliatelle, and Dark Chocolate Brownie. We enjoyed our food immensely! My friend and I both agreed that my squid ink was better than her tagliatelle. The portions were generous and service was great. We didn't feel rushed at all and it got busier as the night went on. Tip: you can add a wine pairing for each course for an additional $15. I will definitely be back to try the other dishes.

Yelp
Came here for Mother's Day with my family and everyone absolutely loved their brunch items, none more than the steak and eggs though! Cooked to perfection and very decent quality steak they used made this a real treat! I also shared the Nutella stuffed French toast which was EXCELLENT. Staff is very friendly too which made the experience better. Will definitely be coming back to try more menu items soon!

Yelp
Never would have found this place myself, I'm never in the Upper East Side, but thanks to a local drink passport I got to come in! The drink passport was $20 for 7 drinks from 7 different UES bars/restaurants. I got order whatever drink I wanted from their signature cocktail menu. I ended up going with Rosemary's Baby. I guess I didn't realize that Hefeweizen is a beer so it was an interesting cocktail. Well balanced and I loved the citrus rosemary flavor, just wasn't in love with the beer liquor mix. Peeped their happy hour menu, looked like it had really good deals!

Yelp
Had a casual dinner with my brother here. Looks small on the outside, but has a nice ambiance inside. My mezcal drink was fresh and tasty. My brother's old fashioned tasted diluted and lackluster. Food was fantastic. Aesthetic presentation, well cooked, very flavorful. Crispy shrimp was different than what I expected (see picture) but good. Skirt steak and duck were excellent. Server was friendly and checked in often. Would definitely come back

Yelp
I really don't like leaving reviews like this but it is what it is. I was in last night around 8pm so it was not that busy. I sat down at the bar and the bartender passes by me several times before even looking over. She finally gave me menu so I asked for a tap beer listed on it but they are out of it. Then I order a 'grilled' chicken sandwich. The menu says you can get grilled or fried. After 30 mins I finally asked if it was coming out soon. I was told they just put it in. Then it comes and it's 'fried' chicken. I just asked for my check and walked out. Very disappointing experience. Seems like a place not well run. Sorry

Yelp
Sojourn Social has a great happy hour, I'd say one of the best in the UES. Happy hour is 4-7 where you can enjoy 2 for 1 drinks. If you are looking for good deals, and well crafted drinks this is your place! The bartender was great and really on top of things, we had our second drinks in front of us before we had to flag him down. I got the old fashioned and it was delicious - highly recommend!

Yelp
Giving Sojourn Social 4 stars despite a significantly over-complicated ordering process. This place participates in the Cheers to the UES booklet which provides a free cocktail with a food order. The booklet doesn't specify any food type requirements and we ordered a variety of Happy Hour items. When we went to use the booklet, we were told we had to order specific quantities from specific segments of the menu. There wasn't much leniency despite us highlighting the booklet's non-specifying language -- we had to order another ~$60 worth of food after ordering meals and snacks prior. The Happy Hour is really good, the booklet isn't at all worth it at this place. The service was prompt, kind, and helpful -- but not necessarily amenable. In terms of food/drinks -- -The chicken sandwich and burger; they were fine, nothing spectacular - part of the decent happy hour deal. Fries were typical. -The shrimp taco was good(served with the smallest lime wedge I've ever seen); at a Happy Hour price of $5 each it's barely a deal but it was probably the best food item -The tuna tartar was fresh and well-presented -3 of us ordered 2 orders (4 total) of the duck croquettes and fought over who had to eat the last one - they tasted like frozen Tyson chicken nuggets, wouldn't recommend them -All of our drinks were good with some unique signature cocktails - no complaints there Overall I'd recommend this place for happy hour to drink and eat some fries for sure -- we'll probably return at some point for that exact goal. For the food, nothing was mindblowing for the price.

Yelp
Sojourn Social is a nice, casual spot to catch up with good friends over a tasty bite. We started with their fall squash-arugula salad, which was delicious! It far exceeded my expectations. I had difficulty selecting one entrée; however, I was happy with my short-rib slider selection. The ribs were tender and full of flavor and came with a heap of fries! Next time, I'd like to try their duck or pesto pasta or so many others.

Yelp
I have always had a really nice meal here! My favorites have definitely been the pasta specials on Mondays, which comes with a glass of wine, a salad and desserts. Great local spot for a relaxing night!

Yelp
Had such a great time here! We are big fans of Sojourn on 79 so when we spotted this new place we definitely wanted to give it a shot! From the minute we walked in, the hostess remembered we had made a reservation for a birthday and right away asked who it was and wished him a happy birthday which we appreciated. We were seated at a bigger table in the back. I'm not sure what the second room looks like, but the main room definitely didn't have big tables. We were 6 and could have fit probably 2-3 more at our table, but that seemed to be the biggest table! I would call ahead if you're a big group because it didn't seem like that would work anywhere. Our waitress (who actually ended up being from the original location) was super attentive and friendly. The food was all SO good. Here's the rundown of what we got: Buratta & Proscuitto (AMAZING! Pistachios were a unique touch), Tuna Tartare, Squid Ink Tonnarelli (a little spicy, but so good nonetheless), Shrimp Tacos (these were great and huge - we ordered 2 orders since it was 6 of us but we honestly didn't need to), Faroe Island Salmon (so good!), Chicken Meatballs (the ricotta was a little too melted/liquid so most of it stayed on the plate but taste wise was great), Long Island Duck Breast (huuuuge portion, but great taste). The one thing that was a bummer was that they didn't have the cocktail i wanted to order. Their cocktail menu isn't too extensive and I'm kind of picky so once they didn't have that one (Kiss from a rose I believe it was called), I ended up just going with wine. I think having tasting notes on the wine would help because at least 3 of them were not names/types I recognized! For dessert they brought over both options (zeppolis and their signature cheesecake) and I can't even decide which was better. They sung happy birthday and brought over candles! We chatted with the manager about the sister restaurant vs this one, asked how he would describe the cuisine because it's hard to categorize it and about where he was from! I sadly don't think we caught his name, but I do remember he said he was from South Africa. He kindly invited us all for a round of drinks which we greatly appreciated. They staff overall was really nice and attentive! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Does not know how to use DoorDash. Kept waiting for my order pick up so they can seat other parties even after I told them I was there for a pick up, only for them to realize that they never turned on their DoorDash accounts and therefore did not accept an order I had placed an hour ago and had been kept waiting 15 minutes to pick up. Do not order from them. Just good to eat at the place.
