Katy Asian Town’s Best Restaurants | Eater Houston

"You’ll want to spend hours at this Korean restaurant and soju bar. Communal tables encourage plate-sharing and imbibing, a giant flat-screen television shows K-pop videos, and there are private rooms for karaoke. The menu is huge, spanning a variety of soups, Korean fried chicken, tteokbokki rice cakes, and everything in between — all meant to be paired with your favorite soju, beer, or cocktail. Just press the button for service." - Minh Truong

Great Korean place. We wanted something "small and easy" since we were meeting up for dessert later with friends. It was so good we still over ate, but no regrets. Will go back and try more of the many yummy looking and smelling food.

Great spot for Korean comfort food and drinks! The odeng was delicious—warm broth, fresh toppings, and tasty fish cake skewers. Perfect with soju and great for sharing with friends. Friendly staff and chill vibe. Will definitely come back!

Everything was great. Food, service, soju was cold, and music was right on point. I’ll definitely be back. Especially for those short ribs and wings🤙🏻

I ordered a jjapaguri (noodles) and a dosirak (rice with sides) from here for delivery. The jjapaguri was odd tasting to say the least. It’s pretty difficult to mess up as you combine jjapageti and nuguri (two different kinds of Korean ramen) and even if you don’t know how to properly mix the ratios, it should come out fine. Not the case here. It was very bland and tasted watered down but also very dry. The dosirak rice when bitten into immediately had a slight taste/smell of Fabuloso. Not good. Kimchi was not that tasty and spam was dry. The egg was surprisingly well cooked though. Overall, I don’t know if I would order from here again.

Soju 101 is hands-down one of our favorite karaoke spots! The vibe is always lively, and the staff makes everyone feel welcome. We had an amazing time celebrating a birthday here — the private rooms, music selection, and drinks were all perfect. The food was surprisingly good too, which made the night even better. It’s such a fun and easy place to let loose with friends. We’re definitely coming back to celebrate more birthdays here!

I came in with a group to eat dinner with a group and sat at 2 different tables back to back. My table ordered first, and I pointed to the photos of the items we wanted to order. The waitress who took our order acknowledged everything as she wrote it down before I moved to the next photo item. Here are a few things that could have been better: 1. The steamed egg did not come out looking like the photo. We kindly asked the waitress to take it back, but there was some initial resistance from her. 2. We asked about the status of an item (beef intestine) and were met with an attitude from the waitress. She stated we never ordered it, but two of us at the table pointed at the photo when ordering. This was where her customer service would give the business 1 star because instead of taking any accountability or kindly apologizing for forgetting (it happens), she got frustrated with us and argued that we never ordered it. 3. Corn cheese was the first item we ordered, and it never came out until we asked another server. His response was a lot better than the waitress's and he handled the request politely. 4. We also placed an order for chicken wings, which didn’t arrive at our table. I'm going to assume it was combined with the other table, but we already told the waitress we have 2 separate tabs. 5. We asked for a side of kimchi and the waitress gave us a bowl of kimchi that also had rice grains inside… so it was either a used bowl from another table or it was never cleaned. That was kind of fowl.. 6. To wrap it all up, the AC was broken, so it was also really hot inside. This isn’t the first time I’ve been here and honestly, I didn’t like it the last time but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Customer service is everything, especially when there is conflict, there are always better ways to resolve it without attitudes.

Very amazing spot for a late night meal- the setup on the inside is a vibe. Food is a bit on the pricier side but it’s all very fresh and large in portion size, so definitely worth it. The menu is huge and everything is delicious! Service is efficient and just the right amount of involvement. Great place!

The place is small and service is fast. Karaoke has to be booked days ahead cause they get booked fast. Ambience is good. Good overall.

Yelp
My friends and I came here on a Friday night to hang out and it was decently crowded. Compared to other pocha places I've been to, Soju 101 is more brightly lit and gave more of a restaurant vibe than a lively nightlife scene. Music was quite loud and we were yelling to hear each other. There are karaoke rooms available to rent. The service was attentive and quick to arrive when we pressed the call button. Food here was unfortunately disappointing. I tried the 101 wings, and the Mango Habanero sauce was good, but they were tough and dry. I also had a bite of the fried shrimp roll and it was just okay. Overall, I wanted to like Soju 101 as I've heard many good things about it, but I wouldn't say it would be the first pocha place I would choose to go to.

Yelp
I went here for the first time a few days ago and thought the experience was very mediocre. We were quite hungry after playing at Activate and wanted some good food to munch on! Service was extremely slow and the restaurant wasn't even crowded. Food came out before our drinks as well. Fried shrimp wasn't what I was expecting so I didn't even eat it. Seafood pancake wasn't as crispy as I had hoped for. Cheese corn was okay. We only came here because one of the people in our group suggested going here but we won't be back.

Yelp
Worst service ever. We have been here a few times with no issues but last night was the I'm never coming back here night. Upon settling, we left cash in the private room to cover the bill and tip. A server chased us out to demand payment like we were some bums. Like wtf. If we meant to dine and dash, why tf would we be smoking outside your front door? When we told her the money was in the room, she trotted off looking angry. No apologies, no nothing. I was so frustrated that I walked back in to request to talk to a manager. The server that helped me was professional but advised me that there was no manager on site. Anyways, sorry but that b**** needs to get fired. She is not meant for the service industry. I hhaven't made a review in a very long time, but that pathetic service amped me up to have to leave this review Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Done with this place for good.

Yelp
This place has a fun vibe and our service was pretty good but the food was really not good. Food gets a 2/5. I ordered the following: 101 wings: meat was dry, exterior was soggy, and the wings had no flavor whatsoever even though they were doused in what appeared to be some gochujang sauce. Army stew: this was so bland and just spicy. It didn't have the sourness that army stew should have so I feel like they used little kimchi and mainly used gochugaru and jalapeños. There was also tiny piece of spam and sausage. It was just so meh. Chapaghetti: this was honestly the best dish but it was just instant ramen noodles with the sauce that comes with it and some meat added in.

Yelp
chill place to hang out, eat and drink late. typical Korean comfort food flavors, variety of sojo (obviously) and other drinks. probably reasonably kid friendly during the day. it's closer to a bar at night and obviously a bat late night. lots of parking but can get busy with all the other restaurants
google avatar

Candy C.

Yelp
Went for a Karaoke party in one of the rooms. Music selection is lacking. Food was ok. We tried the Kimchi fries... they were ok. The battered wings were meaty but a bit to saucy. Agedashi tofu was also a little too saucy. I don't really know how service works but the only time I saw a server is when someone ordered food from outside and when they came to tell us time was up. Parking is a pain on the weekends. Since they are open late if you come after everything else is closed then there is plenty of parking.
google avatar

Yelp
The place was a little empty during lunch. I think more people go at night since they have karaoke rooms and a big bar. I had bulgogi it tasted good but a lot of meat pieces had a lot of fat. To drink I had a beer, you can't never go wrong with a beer. The menu has a lot of varieties. I would like to go back and try other dishes. Service was quick and good. The restrooms need a lot of work. They are not taken care of. No toilet paper, dirty and the soap dispenser was broken.

Yelp
We got the pork and Korean fried chicken. The place was cool and the service was great but the food overall was mediocre. For that price I'm not sure if I'd return. The pork was very very oily and hard, it also didn't come with the signature sauces. The fried chicken didn't really have a Korean aspect to it either. It was really really bland.

Yelp
This is by the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. From beginning to end, there is nothing good about this place to even deserve 1 star so if I could I'd give it a 0. We had a party of 7 ppl & when we sat down there was only 3 other tables, 1 with 6-8ppl & 2 with 2 ppl. We pressed the bell to order and it took multiple times for someone to come. We ordered our food & drinks then water, plates and forks were brought to the table and we were like where are the chopsticks? It blows my mind that it is assumed we don't use chopsticks bc there was only 1 asian & 6 hispanics at the table. So we asked for chopsticks and cups for our alcohol. Chopsticks came but no cups for drinks. We had to ask again. The time span to get everything took forever. my friend ordered 2 mixed shots and it never came so she went to the bar to get it. They made them wrong so she asked them to make it again. At this point we were all annoyed and have been waiting for our food for a while. Everyone finally got their food except for me. I ordered the udon noodle soup and when it came out, they brought out an egg drop soup. So they took it back and redid my order. Everyone at the table finished their food and I still didn't get mine. When i finally got it, i didnt eat much and took it to go. We asked for the bill and it came out with gratuity bc we were a party of 7. I spoke to the waitress and asked for a manager bc it is ridiculous to be charged a tip when there was no service and it was a terrible experience. She told me there's no manager and it was an automatic gratuity. I explained to her that I understood how that works. We wouldn't mind tipping if we got great service but it was absolute trash. She looked annoyed and just stared at me like what do u want me to do. She said she can separate the receipts and do an itemized . Ok so when we were ready, we walked to the register and no one was there. We stood there for about 10 minutes until she came. We could've simply walked out cuz no one saw it but we're honest ppl. She had an attitude and kept saying there's nothing she can do about the gratuity bc its on there. I know it is possible bc I know restaurant business so don't lie to me. Another employee walked up and asked whats wrong and we explained it to him. He took over and she walked off with an attitude and he took care of it for us and checked us out one by one. That was the only positive thing that came out of it was the guy that took some time to correct what was wrong. I never write reviews like this but this is absolutely unacceptable. The waitress needs to check her attitude bc she's in a service business. Owner needs check their staffing and customer service big time

Yelp
I've been here a few times and I can say that the experience is very inconsistent. I recommend it if you're looking to do karaoke with a group - make sure to call ahead of time for a reservation because they get pretty busy on the weekends. It's definitely a great time with some friends. You can order food and drinks to the karaoke booth. They're loaded fries and spicy buldak are tasty. I came one time with some friends looking to have lunch and it was completely dead inside with nobody coming to greet us for several minutes so we went elsewhere. Their service is probably better and more attentive in the evenings and on weekends.

Yelp
SN17. Odentang Came back to try the odentang. A very hot, straming, large bowl of soup. Tastes so homey on a cold day. The soup was flavorful and delicious, kind of salty but overall delicious. Tastes really good with rice!

Yelp
My favorite craft soju. Once I had craft soju I can't have it from a bottle anymore. Food is awesome. Always enjoy whatever I order.

Yelp
Came in late on a Friday night, and it was not very busy. The food here was mediocre, but service was good. The location is super spacious and good for big parties--there are even karaoke rooms you can rent out. Most of the food came out pretty quickly--except the fried chicken. We got the carbonara udon which is exactly as it sounds. Super creamy and savory udon. The udon texture was good and chewy, not mushy at all. The japchae was alright and tasted mainly of sesame and sesame oil. The cheese corn also tasted just like cheese and corn, there was not much special about it. The seafood pancake was not crispy and tasted very seafood-y. The ramen tteokbokki was probably the best thing we ordered. The rice cake was nice and chewy and the noodles were not overcooked. We also ordered kinmari which paired really well with the tteokbokki and came out SUPER hot--which I love. The chicken finally came out towards the end and it was NOT hot. It was room temperature and even though it was a full size chicken, the portion size was rather small. It was an okay experience, and would only come back if there were no other late night options open in the area.

Yelp
Wow what an experience today ! Friendly place to just sit and relax and they have nice booths .We didn't stay long enough but it was awesome! We had two different soju flights as they are called and it was really cool trying soju for the first time . Just a really awesome place to go with friends
google avatar

Yelp
Soju 101 has a fun, chill vibe to it. If you want to try Korean food or already love it, you need to come here, period! Also, it has a bar so it usually Stays open late.
google avatar

Yelp
So, I've been here once before and enjoyed the karaoke. However, their online system really is a waste of time. What's the point of having the option to reserve online, if they do not even look at them or actually contact someone? Fix the system or don't give the option for online reservation.

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! Closes at 2 am. Went at midnight, the place was very lively. The food was fresh, and very tasty for a late night bite. They had great music and karaoke rooms. Service was phenomenal. They have a call button which makes it very easy and quick to get great service. Love it here, 10/10 highly recommend!!!

Yelp
I come here every so often. I had met up with a friend a week ago here, the food was great but the service was bad. I come again today to give it another try and this time, the service was even worse! The seat that they sat us in had the call button that wasn't working. The workers knew but didn't tell us the customers. My friend and I just sat there waiting and waiting pressing the button. TWO servers walk straight passed by us. MADE EYE CONTACT and just kept on walking before I could say anything. I literally had to walk and stand up to get their attention. When they came over I informed them the call button wasn't working and the server just said "yea we know". NOTHING ELSE. Everyone working there does not seem like they want to be there nor are they even approachable. Very unfriendly. No smile no nothing. Talk about their bathrooms too! Both time I've gone, it's been a mess. The light turned off on me while I was IN the bathroom. USING the bathroom. My friend went in after me and I informed her that the light was out and won't turn back on. They gave her a 10% discount but not me. I am truly disappointed in this place. Will not be returning.

Yelp
Came out here for the first time for a friends birthday. Atmosphere is nice and they even have separate karaoke booths and an open dining area if you don't want to do the karaoke option. I let my friend order all the food and just pick a little from each. Basically Korean street foods. Some were great, while others are just okay. We had a blast karaoking here. It took many liquid courage for everyone to break away from their shell but it worked! One thing I wished they improved on were the ventilation in the karaoke rooms. After 2-3 hours of singing, that room was about as hot as a sauna. We had to occasionally open our door for air to circulate inside. It was a fun night and we would most likely be back again!

Yelp
What a cool spot! Stopped in here late one night after some oysters at Captain Tom's (also worth a visit, but totally different experience). Servers were very friendly and nice. Tried the Spicy KFC and it was so good. I'm a bit of a KFC connoisseur- at least I get them whenever I can. These were some of the best I've had. Sauce was incredible, had some kind of very slight tang that was different than any I've had but so good. Such a cool location too - I'm definitely too old to be hanging out at a place like that at night but people were still friendly. Very interesting drinks on the menu as well.
google avatar

Nhi V.

Yelp
If you want good tasting Korean street food, I would not recommend this place. However, if you would like a place to drink & socialize while munching on okay Korean street food, this isn't a bad place. The spicy rice cake was not saucy at all. It was dry and the sauce sticks all onto the rice cake like glazed. We got some meat dish and the meat was dry and it was just okay. Nothing much to talk about the food here. The ambiance here though wasn't bad at all. The interior looks pretty nice inside & there are plenty of parking spots outside.

Yelp
Emptier than I would expect on a Friday night, which was good because no wait, but disappointing because this place should be packed. Delicious food on a huge menu at a decent price. The takoyaki was so hot that when I bit into it, the molten interior cooked the roof of my mouth enough the peel the skin AND I WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN BECAUSE IT WAS THAT DELICIOUS. This food was so fresh and delicious that I immediately planned ehat I would get upon returning. That menu is do enormous, you will have a hard time deciding what to get. Every dish killed. The spicy gobchan gui gui was incredible. I expected my teen daughter to be suspicious but one bit and she told me it was amazing. Houston, please show up. I loved Soju101.
google avatar

Joelle D.

Yelp
The soju is a little over priced but the brand they have is hard to find in Texas so I guess it's reasonable. We stuck to the mixed drinks since they were cheaper and they were great. It's hard to find a place with food that's open late here so I'm glad they have good food in giant portions! Didn't get to try the karaoke but will definitely be back to try it. Drinks: Melona soju and gagam tea. Food: udon pasta, korean fried chicken, and bulgogi quesadilla (we did eat some of it before the pic )
google avatar

Foodie L.

Yelp
Great service. Good drinks and great prices. Nice atmosphere. You have a call button on the table where you can request your server.

Olivia A.

Yelp
lmao we waited 30+ minutes to get waited on, asked three different servers for help and when we finally got someone she got the order wrong and some of us didnt get food. Took 35 minutes to bring LIMES. Lol really wanted to like this place but what a waste, all the tables around us were getting waited on while we got shoved in a corner
google avatar

Thao N.

Yelp
Nice place with plenty of space for big groups! I love how their menu has a lot of food options for everyone. Prices were reasonable. The service was also good when we were there. Food took a while to come out but they would come out almost simultaneously so you can have a bite of all the dishes at the same time. Do not order PANCAKE though! It came out hot but VERY soft with zero crispiness. The dipping sauce wasn't so good either. Cheese corn was also very average (or below average to me). Tofu soup didn't come out boiling hot like most places but it was still hot and well flavored with good amount of toppings. Spicy Beef Intestines were BOMB! It was very well seasoned and surprisingly crispy. This was the only dish that we would go for a 2nd order if our stomachs still had some room left lol.

Yelp
My first visit here was great! The food was fresh and you can tell they were excited about being a new restaurant in Katy Asia Town. However, the quality of the food continues to go downhill. It's obvious the food they serve is old. I ordered the Dosirak and the stir fry kimchi was so cold. I couldn't believe they would serve it like that. To top it off, the kimchi was old and slimey and the rice was old and hard. Yes, slimey. They said it's supposed to be like that which is false. I've ordered this dish numerous times and since when is stir fry cold? The bulgogi was lacking flavor and dry. The jjapaguri from the previous visit was flavorless and the noodles were stuck together. I'd love to see a decent Korean restaurant in Asia town, but this ain't cutting it.
google avatar

Erika O.

Yelp
I love soju 101 for drinking and trying different Korean dishes. The chili cream chicken is my go to, it's so creamy and delicious. The tteokbokki is not too spicy. The bulgogi quesadilla is also delicious! I've been here a couple times and will be back again :)
google avatar

Yelp
2nd time at Soju 101 and realized I didn't write a review the first time around! Located in the far corner of Katy Asian Town, which is a great location away from all the craziness in front of HMart...there is quick and easy parking! This time we ordered new menu items tonkatsu (pork cutlet) and cheese tonkatsu (pork cutlet with cheese). Both were EXCELLENT! I give a slight edge to the one with cheese because one bite gives you an excellent melt in your mouth feel. Deep fried to perfection, the amount given is plentiful! The corn cheese and bulgogi were great as well. The menu is quite extensive but I'm sure you won't be disappointed in the pork katsu!

Yelp
I went here recently for my birthday with friends and family members. The karaoke was super fun and overall a great experience! Price was $40/hour because of the July 4th holiday for a group of 5 people; pretty affordable for us! We ordered some snacks (specifically the honey butter fried chicken) and because of its price, we figured it was going to be filling for a group, but we were wrong for assuming. It was a very small amount and was served with one cold, small bowl of rice. There were probably just a couple small pieces of the chicken (~12 pieces). Though the flavor was good, the food was definitely not worth it and we were left pretty disappointed. My conclusion? Go for the karaoke and eat somewhere else either before or after. Don't order any food here.
google avatar

Claudia K.

Yelp
Wow I'm so disgusted with these fried chicken. I placed an ubereats order and this is what I get. The chicken is dehydrated and dry. You should never specialize in chicken if you can not master Korean fried chicken. I am a Korean American and this is by far the worse I've ever had. The food delivered to us would make great doggie chew toys. They're tough and stale. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!! Do not order take out. We couldn't eat any of it and ended up throwing away.
google avatar

Yelp
A fun spot to go to with friends or cousins! Soju 101 has become a family tradition when our cousins are in town, and we always love it! The food is pretty good and served family style, so everything is shareable. Some of our favorites that we usually order are: cream chicken or chili cream shrimp, honey butter fries or honey butter chicken, buldaezi (spicy pork), bulgogi quesadillas, 101 wings (spicy soy Korean BBQ wings). I love the picture menu since I am so visual, it helps me remember what to order when we go. They also have tons of soju flavors to choose from and drinks with reasonable pricing too, so you're guaranteed a good time! I took away a star because reserving a karaoke room can be pretty tricky, and the past times we have gone, there have been different things communicated to us on timing of available private rooms, it was a bit disorganized and we ended up not being able to get a karaoke room so we were kind of disappointed. I recommend if you plan to come here with a group and want to karaoke and not just eat, book a room online or call way in advance. Other than that, customer service is very friendly and welcoming, the restaurant is spacious, cute, vibrant, and the vibes are great! Soju 101 is definitely the better spot in Katy Asia Town for late night Korean bites and karaoke!

Yelp
This place was pretty cool. The ambiance and atmosphere was definitely better than the food. Although the food was good. They have these cute booths where you push a button when you need service. I thought that was really nice. The food was good but not great. I got the bulgogi quesadillas. My husband got the spicy pork entree and we shared the pork dumpling appetizer. They were all okay.

Yelp
***Avoid this place, service is poor, they are understaffed, and they don't understand their own reservation system Made a karaoke reservation a few days before and they said they were able to put me down for a room. I called the day before the reservation to confirm that they still had me down and they said yes. Come the day of, went to the place and they said that they didn't have my reservation. In fact, they said that it couldn't have been possible for me to put in a reservation unless I had put in one two weeks ago because they were fully booked. We even asked if there was a mistake in their recording of the name as there was a reservation for the time we had for the same amount of people and similar-ish name. They said it wasn't possible and even said that the paper with the reservations we were looking at was a "draft". We were able to also see that one of the karaoke rooms was in fact empty though and no one was coming (meaning this was probably our room we had reserved) Clearly, the management of reservations is poorly handled. The employee was also not helpful at all and was clearly not accommodating. In addition, they were clearly understaffed which I can give some empathy for but the employee was just not pleasant to deal with and didn't seem like they understood their own system. Also, there was no one at the front to help people except in really intermittent times of over 5 minutes. Would never recommend this place to anyone due to poor service. Please avoid and take your business somewhere else

Yelp
$40/hour for group of greater than 5 on the weekend which is pretty steep! The door to our room had trouble closing properly. The remote device was kind of hard to use, and the lyrics to Korean songs didn't have the English phonetics to aid in singing. There also wasn't any tambourines. They did have cool disco lights as most karaoke places have. We made a reservation on the phone and they said we could have 2 hours, but when it was 1 hour, they said we had 30 minutes left so we had to correct them. They do allow outside food but don't allow outside alcohol. They will bring you complementary water as needed!

Yelp
Was there for a birthday party. They definitely can handle a lot of people at one time. We did call ahead and reserved a room. The room rate doesn't not include food nor drink unlike some places or the cost of food would cover the room cost. It's one price for rate and one price for food. With that said. The food isn't bad non-good. It's bar food so I didn't expect much from it. We had about everything on the menu and nothing really stand out to me. The price is relatively fair but the portion are a little bit small. Over all not bad for a place for party but wouldn't go for just a lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Soju 101 is a Korean karaoke bar and restaurant located in a busy plaza in Katy. They're open a bit later than other places in the area, which makes them great for late night hunger! I tried the bulgogi (B01) and the tuckpocky (T03). The bulgogi was nice and juicy, a little sweeter than I prefer but otherwise had great flavor. I think the dish would have been better if the onions underneath had been cooked a little. The tuckpocky had fish cakes, rice cakes, and an egg all in the slightly spicy sauce. The flavor was good, but I think because the sauce enveloped everything, you couldn't taste the components as well which made the dish a little one dimensional. Out of the two, I liked the bulgogi more. The rice was average but went well with the entrees. I got take out, and the service was good. It was hard to order ahead because the restaurant was super loud on the phone, but the wait wasn't bad.

Yelp
Came in the other evening with friends! Let me begin by talking about their hours. 5pm-2am. It is my late night hang out for good flavored Korean food for my buck. They haven renovated (been coming here on and off for years). Overall cute ambience with tv playing KPop. I personally enjoy it. Staff follows covid19 rules. There is inside and outside/patio seating! Sat quickly and ordered drinks and a variety of dishes. To get servers attention there is a button at all tables. This is culturally acceptable to call them over. Staff is very quick and effective when putting orders in. Started out with Soju and Rice Chip Apps (complimentary). Not bad. Food: Fried Dumplings. Crispy and hot when hit table. Ordered 2 noodle dishes! My fav is Jjamppong - the spicy seafood soup. It's a spicy seafood soup. Extra spicy and SO DELICIOUS! We also got Jajangmyeon - the Chinese Black noodles. Rich sauce with yellow radish on the side. These are my top noodle soups to order. Kimchi Pancake (Pajeon): I usually never order this dish but I was with a couple friend who never had Korean food before so I was looking for staples. This dish was absolutely amazing! Came out hot and crispy and it's HUGE! They loved it and so I did it! Not pictured: But we enjoyed. Tangsuyuk! This is my FAVORITE dish (with sauce on the side). It is lightly fried and comes with the sauce on the side that's sweet. But the breading is so light and it's so crispy that it is absolutely my favorite dish. But I would just come here regularly, this would be my go to. Bulgogi Dish: $22-25? We have a huge dish come at the very end. It had the white crystal noodles with it. It was Good and huge for its price. Honestly with this dish, I wasn't sure what I was expecting because my friends knew what bulgogi was, but I wanted to make sure they had a good experience. But it was so much bigger than what we expected that we did not finish it. Out of all the dishes this would be the one that I would not order again just because we had so much food already. But it was good. Overall, the food flavors at this restaurant is pretty consistent. Service can either be up there down. But again, you could always use the button to get what you need. This is always a go to spot for me when I want some late night food. And I always will come back.

Yelp
We had a reservation for a room but they canceled it without contacting us because they got a call from a bigger group. Never coming back here because I don't trust their reservations.

Yelp
I have been waiting impatiently to try this new place located in the heart of Katy's new asian town. I love korean food and have been looking for the best korean wings in town. Also have been wanting to try their spicy rice cakes. I first saw rice cakes online years ago and finally found them! We ordered the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) with Korean BBQ sauce (C13), spicy rice cakes (T2) and their shrimp dish (S4).. also my friends toddler ate with us and ordered some ramen for him.. everything hit the spot.. amazing. I loved everything. Korean BBQ sauce was so good! Also ordered their Tokyo Tea.. mas fuerte. Finally tried Korean beer called HITE! Awesome! Checked some things off of my bucket list on food to try! Will be back.

Yelp
I came here to do karaoke and eat with a group of friends on my birthday and had a great time! The selection of songs are pretty good- definitely more up to date on Korean releases than western, and the food is also good. I would say though that I feel like the portions are kinda small vs the price but when you eat it family style/ share with friends then split the tab its not breaking the bank. I do wish their website listed their pricing on there as I didn't really know what to expect. I'm sure you could also call them to find out but I noticed they really only answer the phone at night- 8/9pm onwards. If you call them at 12 or 1, you'll just get a dial tone even though they are open. Anyways, from what I remember prices ranged from $40 on weekdays and $60 on weekends with a price difference for small vs large sized groups. Theres apparently no limit to the amount of people in a karaoke room but the given couch fits about 10 people and the rest will sit on chairs they bring in from the dining room. Overall, I had a good experience here and wouldn't mind coming again. Just maybe with less people lol. Side note: We tried splitting the check between everyone (15-20ppl) and were told they only can split the check 6 ways. Wasn't a big deal for our group because we just venmo'ed each other but maybe something to consider for payment!

Yelp
Sean was an incredible host at the bar and South Korean so knew what he was talking about.. Second time here and over impressed again. Had the Calamari and wow, fresh not rubbery...perfect, soft and amazing. A new gent was working when I walked in and yes white guy...sorry...being specific....he was not friendly, not mean but did not care. Does not care about people or his job. Other than that this place is great. Karaoke private rooms also...going to do that soon. If you have not been here you are missing out. 5 stars for food and atmosphere....Liz is gone...she was great.....the one guy though needs to go.

Yelp
DO NOT COME HERE! They are HORRIBLE! We had a CONFIRMED reservation and when we got there they told us our reservation didn't exist! They do whatever they want - when they want and if they want! They don't care about providing great customer service and they are RUDE! Give your money and business to an establishment that will appreciate it. They haven't been open long either and my guess is that they won't last if they continue to be this rude, unprofessional and a hot mess! RUN from here! There are better karaoke places out there!

Yelp
My group of friends and I have tried twice to get reservations here. We've made them long before 24 hours in advance and have gotten them confirmed, only for them to be cancelled later on both times. We won't be trying again and it's ridiculous how un organized and horrible they manage their reservations.

Yelp
Great place! Stopped by for dinner while in the area for dinner with cousins and was delighted. Walked into a clean and nicely/scarily decorated place during Halloween season. There were also plenty of TV's around so we could watch the Astros game. Our waiter was attentive. We wanted to try the soju and he recommended the yogurt flavor. We tried yogurt and mango, and yogurt was definitely better because it was creamy and slightly sweet. I tried the chili cream chicken, bulgogi, and the bulgogi quesadillas. The chili cream chicken was my favorite because it had a lot of sauce that was slightly spicy. I could've done without the quesadillas, but I was in the mood for it at the time and I enjoyed its flavor. Didn't get to try karaoke rooms but would consider it next time!

Yelp
First time here at Soju 101, I've had better Korean food. It's a cute concept, their main thing is obviously the soju, but today, they only offered a handful of flavors. Kind of disappointing. When I first walk in, it looks pretty empty but then more people started to arrive, and only 1 person was working the entire place! I felt bad for them, because waitering 7 tables at a time is stressful. The menu offered a lot of options; I went for the japchae (glass noodles w/ veggies and fish cake) and galbi (kbbq short ribs) with a side of rice. The food was okay, I think of it more as a quick bite especially if you're doing karaoke with friends, which they offer. The entire place is really nice, especially location wise. Music is bumping, and the ambiance was overall great! I think I'd rather do a karaoke night with friends here and just order drinks, food only if we're really hungry. Service: Food: Drinks: Location: Overall: 3.25/5
